[Feb 24, 2021] Pixel Launcher Editor for Pixel 2XL with Color Picker - Google Pixel 2 XL Themes, Apps, and Mods

Badseed Customs Presents
Pixel Launcher Editor
Greetings
This is a combination of a Magisk module and Substratum Theme. I originally did this as means to give custom options to people who enjoy the Pixel Launcher and was planning to release on the Play Store. Since it required a modified Pixel Launcher via Magisk, I decided to release it to the public via XDA.
The Magisk module is needed in order for the options in the Substratum theme to install and function properly!

Instructions & Downloads
1. Download and flash Pixel.5.Launcher.Helper.zip via Magisk.
2. Install Substratum Lite from Play Store.
3. If you have a pre v5.0 of Pixel Launcher Editor uninstall then reboot.
4. Install Pixel Launcher Editor.*
*When installing the editor you might get a message stating that Play Protect does not recognize this app's developer, that is because I signed the app with my private keys and I am not registered through the Play Store.
How to build your custom Pixel Launcher Theme
01. Open Substratum Lite and select Pixel Launcher Editor.
02. Read welcome screen carefully then select PROCEED.
03. At the very top choose the grid layout you would like, you will need to use the same grid layout in step 11 below (ex Grid6x7).
04. Under Android System select AppDrawerBkg to set your desired app drawer background color. If nothing is selected, stock colors will be used (note that the hex code to the far right will not change when you select a different color, the color circle will show the color you picked).
05. Under Android System select FolderBkg to set your desired folder background color. If nothing is selected, stock colors will be used.
06. Under Android System select FolderTrim to set your desired folder trim color. If nothing is selected, stock colors will be used.
07. Under Android System select 3 Button Navigation Bar Options if you would like to hide the 3 bar navigation bar. Please make sure you have a 3rd party navigation solution ready to go before you enable the overlays.
08. Under Pixel Launcher select DrawerText to set your desired app drawer text color. If nothing is selected, stock colors will be used.
09. Under Pixel Launcher select FolderText to set your desired folder text color. If nothing is selected, stock colors will be used.
10. Under Pixel Launcher select HomeText to set your desired home text color. If nothing is selected, stock colors will be used.
11. Under Pixel Launcher select Remove Searchbar? to choose whether or not you would like to remove the search bar. If you would like to remove it, make sure you select the same grid as you did in step 03 above (ex. Yes6x7)
12. Under Pixel Launcher select Dock Options to set how many apps you would like on your dock.
13. Under Pixel Launcher select Text Size to set your desired text size or if you would like to remove it completely.
14. Under Pixel Launcher select Icon & At A Glance Options to set your desired icon size.
15. Select the boxes for Android System and Pixel Launcher then select the floating bubble at the bottom right and select Install selected.
16. If you would like to hide at a glance widget please follow the following steps, if not skip to step 17.
a. At the very top select the same grid you selected the first time (ex. Grid6x7).b. Skip down to Remove Searchbar? and select the same option you selected in step 11 above (ex. Yes6x7)c. Skip down to very bottom, press Icon & At A Glance Options and select RemoveAtAGlance (this will only hide the widget, area will not be usable).d. Check the box for Pixel Launcher. Only this box. 1 box only. Do not select Android System.e. Press 1 Selected (see only 1, does not have a 2) bubble that appears on bottom right and select Install selected.17. Reboot your phone

Feeling generous, send me a beer!

Quick note. There is hardly any modifications that are left to add to this project besides more options to the options already there. I might add the ability to hide (not remove) at a glance widget. I say hide because the space will not be usable. I know it was requested for more grid sizes and I plan to add those in. That being said. Feel free to request specific colors and I'll do my best to add them in for bi-weekly updates. I would need a hex code for the color and please give a name as well. Other than that enjoy!

Can the search bar on the home screen and the app draw be removed independently? Can the app icon text on the home screen and the app drawer be controlled independently? Is this working well on the December update of Android 10 for the 2xl? Any attempts by any users or yourself?

I had @MrBrady test this on Dec update on P2 and it worked well for him. The December update unified the launchers for p2 and p3, possibly p4 (once the update is out I will be able to confirm) so I feel confident that it works even without testing myself. As of Android 10 the ability to have search bar independent of one another is gone, it's all or nothing. The app text color is controlled independently. The size is not as of right now. I will look and see if it is possible.

Pixel Launcher Editor 3.4 & Pixel Launcher Helper v10.7
-Added a bunch of grid layouts
-Added in Black folder trim and text colors
-Added new color - Arcadia
-Unified all Pixel Launcher Helper modules (P2-P4)
-Updated to January update
***IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION YOU NEED TO GO TO SUBSTRATUM, DISABLE (NOT UNINSTALL) ANY ACTIVE OVERLAYS FOR THE PIXEL LAUNCHER, GO TO MAGISK AND UNINSTALL THE CURRENT HELPER THEN REBOOT. ONCE BOOTED UP INSTALL NEW HELPER, REBOOT, GO TO SUBSTRATUM AND ENABLE THE PIXEL LAUNCHER OVERLAYS, REBOOT...DON'T COMPLAIN IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR PHONE FC OR LAGS***

Changelog
Pixel Launcher Editor v3.9
-Added ability to hide "At A Glance Widget" [Editor 3.9]**THIS WILL ONLY HIDE THE WIDGET. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT ANYTHING IN ITS PLACE**
You must build the theme 3 times in order to have this theme working as intended
1. You must select a grid layout in Option 1
-must be the same option on all three builds2. Do not install Android System, it does absolutely nothing
-don't build at all3. Select a color option in Option 2 if applicable
-only needs to be built once4. If removing searchbar, Option 3 must match Option 1 (ex 6x7 in both options)
-must be the same on all builds5. Option 4, 5 , & 6 must have matching #'s (ex 1DrawerText Blue, 1Drawer BlackTrans, & 1Dock10)
-on first build use options starting with 1 (a drawer color option has to be built or other options will not work!)
-on second build use options starting with 2
-on third build use options starting with 36. Repeat steps 1-6 two more times
7. If You would like to hide the At A Glance Widget repeat steps 1-4, go to option 6 (bottom option), scroll to the bottom of the list and select "4HideAtAGlance"
8. Reboot
9. In Substratum, go to manage, select the three or four overlays for pixel launcher and enable them
10. Reboot

Thanks to @miggsr & @Face_Plant for testing on Pixel 3 & Pixel 3XL

No update needed for August security patch

Ok guys, spent pretty much all day porting this over to Android 11. I had to completely rewrite the magisk module and the substratum theme. Installation is the same. Please let me know if you have any issues. I only got to test my usual setup. Enjoy!
Pixel Launcher Editor v4.0 & Pixel Launcher Helper v11.0.0.1
-Updated to Android 11 (DO NOT USE ON ANDROID 10) [Helper 11.0.0.1 & Editor v4.0]
-Editor v3.9 & Helper v10.11 are final versions for Android 10

Would any of you guys be interested in being able to remove/hide 3 button navigation bar in order to use custom gesture app? I know with android 11 we dont have the overscan api anymore so i added a tweak to a personal release of my editor to be able to hide 3 button navigation bar via substratum. Added a poll to the Pixel 4XL thread. Please vote!

I see that your are using kitkat, for now kitkat is not fully supported, see first post
This is absolutely amazing! (Judging by the pictures)
I tried to run it on CM11S, however it seems to collide with the theme engine, no matter what I do.
Any ideas of how to make it work, if it's even possible?

Hey!
Beta 2 is looking great! Love the notification shade and icons.
Just noticed that the data arrows don't line up on Honor 8 and that there seems to be a small issue with the home button icon - there seems to be a white blemish on top and right side of the button!
Thanks,
Michael

[Hiatus][Mod] [AROMA] [OOS 4.1.7/Beta 12] Mod and Theme Collection [11, August]

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage to your device! You are flashing this on your own risk!
Currently on Hiatus so no updates
Description
I made this mod in order to get some functionality tweaks as well as visual tweaks from custom roms to OOS. This mod doesn't require root but it needs to be flashed with TWRP! I will try to update it to the newest OOS version at all times, even Open Betas but I cannot promise I will keep up forever. I made this mod for the Oneplus 3T but it's confirmed working on Oneplus 3 too. I know you can use substratum for a lot of my mods functionality but I have problems with it and I think there should be a solution for people who don't like substratum. I hope you enjoy this mod and can use it without problems. Remember to hit the thanks button

Known issues
Versions v1.0-v3.0Rework/Dark have combatibility issues and may not work on all devices.
Some Notification Titles and/or content is black on black on dark theme. (Substratum mod below helps but doesn't fix all yet)
Some Heads up notifications like call or alarm don't show any text on dark theme. Fixed in v8.0
In Open Beta versions the standard launcher doesn't use the new accent colors. Fixed in v8.0
If you have found any more issues please report them here.
Always take a nandroid backup in case anything goes wrong!.
Download: AFH / Mega
Extras
In order to fix the issue with whatsapp notifications I made a small substratum theme with the help of @SyCreed @ungeeked @v.konvict and @KpChuck
For now it includes: Two Accents, Oneplus Red and Pharrax Blue
Overlay for Action Launcher (Black Settings with choosen color)
Overlay for Oneplus Community App (Changes color to Accent) For Black Version Please Install OnePlus Community Black.apk from my Mega Drive
Overlay for Gsam Battery Monitor: Changes Dark Theme to a pitch black. Changes a teal Accent to the accent you chose (#2e78f3)
Overlay for Spotify (Makes the Notification Controls white) Thanks to @KpChuck
Overlay for Whatsapp: Changes the accent of whatsapp to the accent. If you install my overlay first and after that e.g. Swift Black whatsapp will look completely like Swift Black but notifications will be blue! (Group chat names still buggy)
I'm planning on fixing more notifications with that as well as adding black theme to some apps that are missing in Swift Black. Updates may follow.
You can download it from my mega folder above! (It's called DarkModeExtention.apk)

To change the number of small QS Tiles check out that Article on xda: "How to Add more Tiles to the Quick Settings Header on Google, OnePlus, and Sony Phones (No Root)"
To change to color of the Quick settings tiles only use this commands in cmd: (Thanks to @SyCreed)
Code:
adb devices
To check if your phone is connected properly
Code:
adb shell
make sure to grant root privileges
Code:
settings put system oem_black_mode_accent_color '#ffffffff'
You can use any hex code instead (Please note that something could go wrong so make a backup beforehand)
and optional if you want to check if it worked type
Code:
settings get system oem_black_mode_accent_color
After that reboot

Really nice work!

I've a quick question, do you know how to change the quick settings that appear on one row? I would like to have 7 instead of 5

If you mean like that then here you go
@Pharrax, would you be able to work with @v.konvict to brew up a combination of both your mods? Would love to see your 5 row with the dark notifications.

Update
Updated OP with new mods, for example Center Clock. Download link in the Mega Folder from OP.
I'm open for feedback and reccomendations or wishes for future mods. Just keep in mind I'm new to this so I cannot make major themes on my own.
Have a great day
thanks
Simple & useful...Thanks for this....
@Pharrax for some reason the 5 toggles/Center clock doesn't work here. Flashed the stock systemui before. Strangely enough the 5 systemui or the center clock mods work ok separately. I'm on the FreedomOS 2.6.1.

That's strange, I use that as my daily driver on FreedomOS 2.6.1 too
What kind of error are you experiencing? And can you post a screenshot of the /system/priv-app/OPSystemUI/ folder?
I could try to reupload to mega, maybe the file got corrupt some way
can someone upload the center clock mod here? I'm unable to download it from mega, thanks

There is no error. The problem is I can't have the 5toggles and the center clock at the same time. When I flash the 5qsccOOS41.zip I have only the 5 toggles and not the center clock.
