Android 9 more resource needed than 6? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have had a look at the android compatibility definition and in to "internet" and didnt find the answer. I asume the ram consumption it has to be mpre, since on android 9 compatibility definition I found an entry where it states if ram is less than 1GB it will be prompted a low ram alert, while with android 6 there are (were?) plenty of devices with just 2Gb ram. So my concern is about the CPU requeriments.
I am planning on buy a eReader (4GB) which nowadays have android 6 but its supposed to be upgraded to android 9 in the next month. I am affraid that CPU plus android 9 will make the device slow.
Any idea about android 9 cpu requeriments being higher than 6?

No one has an idea??

Hero processor vs iphone 3gs processor

Hi,
I know that the Iphone 3GS has ARM 600 MHz processor and the HERO has a Qualcomm MSM7200A 528 Mhz process.
But what really is the difference between them??
Why don't we have more games running on android as apple for Iphone?
If we had iphone games on android from the best one s would it work on HERO?
I know that Iphone s games are more developped cause apple is older but the games for android are so rubbish for most of them.
In fact, I had two questions in one
1. processor differences hero VS Iphone 3GS
2. available and quality games differences ANDROID (Hero) VS Apple (Iphone 3GS)
THX A LOT GUYZ!
Hi there. I too am annoyed at the lack of development for games for Android. It is the fault of Google and Android handset manufacturers.
However it mostly comes down to this:-
1. Very limited internal memory to install apps on (512mb etc)
Some of the games on the iPhone are quite big. A couple of 100mbs. 1-3 games at that size will mean you have no room for other apps on Android and you will see 'low memory' all day long.
At the moment most people use Apps2SD but as this is an unofficial way no 'big' games developer is going to see this as a base for creating a game.
However new phones coming out have a few gigabytes of internal memory so hopefully we can get things moving.
2. GPU's or lack of one. (Proper)
Hopefully with Android taking off as it is, we won't have to wait long to more Android devices with a GPU (e.g. PowerVR SGX .. .Like the iPhone has) thus enabling proper OpenGL ES 2.0 support. The Milestone has one. Nice !
I want proper 3D games like the iPhone has. So until we get proper GPU's in our Android devices we are still lagging behind in some ways to the iPhone.
The Motorola Droid’s GPU, a PowerVR SGX 530 is similar to that of the iPhone 3GS yet with no proper application storage capability it seems quite a waste and one that will make sure the Motorola Droid isn’t an iPhone Killer.

Kind of sums my thoughts up really... We need at least 8GB internal memory as standard (My N95 had this 4 years back). So 32GB should be the norm. That is why we don't have iPhone type games & as apps2sd is unofficial people won't make games like the iPhone for Android.
Also the Milestone is relatively new compared to the iPhone 3GS yet the 3GS has a PowerVR SGX535 GPU whereas the Milestone has an older PowerVR SGX530 GPU. oMg !!!11!!!1
That's pretty poor too.
As much as I hate to say it there are some features of the iPhone that would not go a miss on an Android device.
Also we need a music equaliser !!1!1 Argghhh
Otherwise I love my Android phone. Hero ftw.
The MSM7200 processor in the Hero is based on the earlier ARM11 architecture whilst the processor in the 3GS is a Samsung SoC based on the ARM Cortex A8 architecture. Clock for clock, the Cortex A8 architecture is a fair bit faster than the ARM11 architecture.
Both chips have GPUs for 3D acceleration, but again the 3GS's chip is a more capable unit. In the Qualcomm range, the Snapdragon is closer to the 3GS's chip, as it is also a Cortex A8 core, and has a better GPU.
Also, another reason why iPhone games are "better" than Android games is because all iPhone games are native applications, whereas all Android games are interpreted Java - although the NDK allows certain parts of an Android application to be written in native code, and in the latest NDK this includes the OpenGL ES subsystem.

the N95 8Gb's internal storage is different than main storage, that was pretty much equal to having an SD card inside the phone you couldn't change
the external storage was slow and the internal storage was fast enough not to lag but there was very little of it but you could store things on the 8gb memory chip it'd just be slow as all hell
I know because I currently still run that phone along with my Hero
THX all
SO now my question is : What is the evolution part for Android to concurrence Iphone in the future?
Which base Android is "fighting" on VS android with?
Happy to be french but my English might me incorrect, sorry!

[Q] Huawei MediaPad 10 Link Custom ROM

Huawei MediaPad 10 Link is less known tablet with good specs. General specs are:
Huawei HiSilicon K3V2 1.2 GHz quad-core processor based on ARM Cortex-A9
1 GB RAM
1280x800 (1280x752 actual res.)
160 DPi
8 GB Internal Storage
S10-201U (WiFi+3G Only)
Vivante GC4000 GPU (Huawei said its "gaming" tablet i think not its lags and gives max 20 fps on basic games)
Android specs;
Version: 4.1.2 Jelly Bean API Level 18
6000 mAh battery.
Low to mid end range tablet but have no custom roms or recovery. Stock firmware is total bulls***. Lags way too much and makes tablet sometimes unusable. I wonder why anyone not intrested in with this tablet i see many people waits for it. Is there any developer works on this? If no sadly i have to sell this tablet because i cannot use due to over lagging software. (Full stock only rooted and bloatware removed without any tweaks)
IMPORTANT!
There is no Q&A forum so i have to post it here sorry for it!

Android ARMv7 32-bit vs Android ARMv8 64-bit comparison?

Hi. I'd love to see a face to face comparison between 2 identical smartphones, one running Android ARMv7 32-bit and the other one running Android ARMv8 64-bit, preferably Marshmallow, although Lollipop 5.1.1 would do it fine too. I've thought that the LG Nexus 5X would be a good phone to test the difference between these 2 versions of Android.
Which one would be faster restarting?
Which one would have the CPU colder when decoding videos (Full HD or even 4K)? And CPU load?
What would be the main differences?
Ram usage and if it would be a problem having "only" 2GB of RAM like the 5X.
Benchmarks.
CPU usage and load under same conditions in both terminals, CPU temp monitoring to see the theoretical improvements ARMv8 have done.
Can anyone do it?

How to update Android 4.4 Kitkat. to Android 5.0 Lollipop for iBall Slide DD-1GB.

Hello!
I have an iBall slide DD-1GB tablet. I have Android version 4.4 Kitkat in it. But as many applications don’t support it I want to upgrade it to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
I have checked the OTA for update, but without success. Also, I have done a lot of searching on the Internet but i fail to get what I need.
I would be very thankful to you if u help me.
Pls!!!!!
@ItsHitesh
The tablet can be considered as heaviy outdated, when it comes to run today's apps/games.
IMHO it's not ready to get its Android upgraded to Android 5.x, this because tablet's hardware doesn't match the minimum hardware specs Android 5.1.1 and higher itself and apps / games require. Take note that Android 5.1.1 OS exclusively needs ~500MB RAM.
For example,
PUBG Mobile exclusively needs at minimum 2GB RAM and 2GB free storage space to run at lowest possible settings,
Call Of Duty Mobile exclusively needs at minimum 1.5GB RAM
Legends Of Lanterra exclusively needs 2GB RAM & 1.2GHz quad-core CPU
and so on - the list is endless ....

How to root venturer Voyager 7" tablet VCT9F78Q22EU

HI XDA folks,
So i wanted to get my kids a budget tablet for christmas, but not junk. Something that would be ok. Now for me Android needs atleast 2gb RAM. All of the devices i have tried with 1GB of RAM are slow as hell.
https://venturer.com/product/venturer-voyager-7-android-tablet/ The device is from ventuer which is a rebrand of RCA which is also Alco. So there are a few devices on XDA already.
It as 10 Go and is ok for its spec. But i know from my own experiences tinkering with Dev options and Build prop etc, different Firmware I know it can be made smoother. It has the full google suite for starters...
Anyways, I installed Android Assitant which gave me this information.
So a bit of info.
Model = VCT9F78Q22EU
Android = 10 (go version)
brand = Venturer
Manufacturer = Alco
board= tb8168p1_bsp
Hardware= mt8168
4 cores 2ghz each, armeabi-v7A, armeabi
MediaTek MT8168 Processor - Benchmarks and Specs
Benchmarks, information, and specifications for the MediaTek MT8168
www.notebookcheck.net
Mediatek SOC
Anyways, any one come across this device so far? Any chance of rooting?
Regards
Berty
