Can I install US unlocked firmware on Canadian Note 10+ ? - Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

Canadian Note 10+ N975W is unlocked, it is the Snapdragon 855 version.
The US Unlocked Note 10+ model is N975U1, it is also the snapdragon 855 version.
But, recently, the US unlocked model is getting frequent software updates. So, I was wondering can I install the US unlocked firmware to CA unlocked Note 10+?
Has anyone tried that?

Sprint galaxy S9 plus SM-G965U no OEM Unlock toggle

hi i have a galaxy s9 plus from sprint i show up the Developer Option but there is no toggle for OEM Unlock
how to fix that?
Android 8
Model number : SM-G965U
Software version : G965USQU1ARB7
Hardware version : REV1.1
Build number : R16NW.G965USQU1ARB7
i haven't install the system update yet
Bro, this question was asked for like 100 times. SNAPDRAGON VERSIONS DONT HAVE oem unlock option in developer options. Bootloader cant be unlocked in Snapdragon version.
does that mean I can't root my sprint galaxy S9 plus?

For now, That is exactly what it means.
Apparently I am a spammer (couldn't register), so I'll try here. I notice the G965F and G965F/DS run Exynos 9810 and the G965U the Snapdragon. I want to unlock by bootloader, flash ROM, etc etc so is giving up the bands available to the G965U that big of a deal? Or should I wait for some smart ppl to figure out a way to unlock the Snapdraon ones (is that possible or just not done yet?) ? Thanks much!

And 100 times it's been answered incorrectly.
All snapdragons are not permanently locked... There absolutely are unlockable snapdragon s9/s9+s, just not 96XUs. The SM-G9600 and SM+G9650 are both snapdragon and also have unlockable bootloaders
Are you... ‘The One’?
Ah man. I’ve been searching for an answer since I got this SM-G965Uxxx. I’m kinda frustrated about this. Either way, wish I could help. I’m a developer but I’m not sure theirs much I can do but ya never know. I would love to hear of a savior that unlocks this s9+. Thanks for even pursuing it. The first one to do this will be looked upon like a savior of the snapdragon(G965U) people.

This was also available on the S8 It has nothing to do with bootloader unlock all oem unlock does in Combo roms it shut off FRP If you can get the toggle to stick properly as with S8 you had to turn it on and off like 50 times to get the security popup to popup....
We have been researching this for a while now

FW SM-G965U1 (USA Unlocked) on S9+ SM-G9650 (China Unlocked), is it possible?

Hello, i'm in Italy and i bought S9+ 128GB SM-G9650/DS (China Unlocked Factory) to have Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU.
Can i flash FW SM-G965U1 (USA Unlocked Factory with Snapdragon also) with Odin?
Thank you
nothing?
Nope, because you will brick the device
No because the model number does not match, odin will not allow it to flash.
Prince comesy odin may allow it to flash but your un uncharted waters there so no idea what will happen
By any chance do we have any Odin method to root the Canadian Snapdragon versions, bypass the SM-G965W bootloader?
Nope. And dude a simple search would have told you that.
thank you all for the answers
you can make a rom out of the usa carrier firmware and flash it via twrp to your G9650 no problem. Don't let these noobs tell you otherwise.
@travis82
ahahahahaha I would need a guide to do it, so I was asking for the simplest thing, namely ODIN
I don't even know if it's better the G9650 version or the G965U1 version ...... in both cases, I have to use it in Italy with Italian SIM
He asked if he can flash firmware with odin, creating a rom and flashing via twrp is quite another matter lol
Can I flash the U1 Firmware with Mexico's Telcel CSC??
Hi guys, I made a quick comparison between 3 models (mine is the SM-G965W - Rogers) as recommended by some xda members. Some were saying it may be breaking the phone entirely, and some were saying it is working. Based on those specs all three models are pretty much the same including the Supported Cellular Bands. What is your opinion based on your expertise on this take?

You can but not by using this software. If you have the tmobile variant you would have to get it network unlocked by tmobile to be able to use your note 8 on other carriers. This is the samsung version of the software. All it does is provide users with a firmware that's not bloated by carriers. It doesn't really unlock anything.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I forgot to mention. It doesn't unlock the bootloader either.[emoji39]

sm-g9650 hong kong firmware to usa?

I've been reading up on firmware options on here but can't figure out a straight answer. I have the hong kong version of the s9 plus 256gb with the snapdragon chip. My question is can you use odin to flash USA firmware to it? Without getting a hard brick.
Like the fully unlocked firmware for us models that isn't tied to carriers. Thanks.

I do not know, but it would be great if you would upload your firmware to https://androidfilehost.com
Also, would you please tell me if you are able to use the native call recording functionality that Samsung pushed out in May with your phone
Sorry for no punctuation my keyboard is screwed up for some reason
Thanks Very Much

Based on what I've reviewed this look to be the best option to do so once you confirm the firmware is compatible.

S9+ issues with os kindly help

I got a used Samsung s9+ but I have a lot of issues. The model is SM-N975f/ds which is for note 10+ everytime I set it up with Google, the response I get is your Samsung note 10+ blah blah blah. while the android version is 11 and 11 is not shown on the android 11 version logo. I don't know if it's snapdragon or exynos. I am unable to share files from my computer.
I realise the phone was root with magisk but I don't know how to unroot it and make it go back to factory rom. Kindly help me
I think I know what custom ROM you're running, you should have an Exynos (however please check what CPU do you have with an app from Google Play Store) and download stock firmware for your model. Then just flash it through Odin and lock the bootloader if you'd like that.
Here's what models of this phone exist:
European model (Exynos): SM-G965F
American model (Snapdragon): SM-G965U
Canadian model (Snapdragon): SM-G965W
Brazil or Chinese model (Snapdragon): SM-G9650

The only effect I see is not having official firmware and being rooted (which does not pass SafetyNet).
