Hi so i need to increase headphones in system/vendor/etc mixer_paths_tavil.xml form 80 to 90 but i cant save it i get
Can't copy/storage/emulated/0./estrongs/editor/backup/mixer_paths_tavil.xml.bak content to /vendor/etc/ mixer_paths_tavil.xml
Dont know why my phone is rooted and i give root to es file explorer

Because system is permanent read only. Nothing you can do about.
Maybe there's a magisk module that can do it.

no, you must put the file in /system/media or /data/local depending on what ROM you are using. If you are using the stock one, put it on /system/media

But is this a hard work?! You just go to stock rom copy one file to sd card then go to custom rom and replace them in the same place. ,. You think its hard?! Think about the devs .. they need to do huge amout of workwork to make modules, make roms and other ...

Oh im sorry, I wasn't aware this was the Android Development section and that only devs posted in here.
But is it hard for some one that ALREADY HAS IT or HAS A ROOTED STOCK ROM to simply upload it?

You will need an app like root explorer to edit a file. Here is a thread that tells you what to do.

Did someone managed to install google dialer on this phone?
I switched from Nexus 5x device and I really liked the dialer there and to my suprise it is not supported on our Honor 8.

Strange...What exactly means with not working? Could you install the app? What is your system (original EMUI-which?, rooted?, modified?)
Could you install and get into operation any of attached apps?

Im on original Emui rooted.
I was able to install but basic operation like calling made the app disappear or I managed to call but I couldnt hang the call.
It doesn't matter because using the apk and guide from the posted thread here everything works.

It requires full framework to run. Try aroma gapps and install the dialer

Hi. I need help with TWRP. I once flashed pure nexus ROM and ever since then I have been facing unusual options appearing in TWRP.
In short story, When I flashed pure nexus ROM then I saw that my TWRP recovery was auto deleted and recovery was set to stock android recovery. Being a noob, it was very hard for me to fix it. But eventually I did it. So, I installed latest TWRP and flashed Cosmic OS. While cleaning dalvik cache and other options, I began to see new options such as "AndroidSecure" "EPS" and so on.
I can post a picture of it. Anyways, please help rectify these problems.

If I do remember, androidSecure is a secure folder in the internal storage, however, don't touch any of these partitions at all

Continue using your phone normally. Just don't change or touch anything you don't know.
And another problem. Whenever I make backup of ROM and store in the SD card. And when I try to restore my backup it does not works. It just says sort of 'restore failed'.

You set the system read only. Check the settings of TWRP. You'll find it there. Only then you will be able to restore.

It did not work well. Upon flashing it gave an error "Zip file is corrupted". Not sure why it is happening. The download went well by the way.

I'm really not sure what's the point of downgrading. Can you check through a file explorer if you can open the downloaded ROM?
