It's working without using any usb hub

Can't believe modifying some registry values solved this! I almost went to buy a usb 2.0 cable. Many thanks

This worked for me and I hope the same goes for you all as well (
without using USB HUB and USB 2 port
).
I found the solution here .
Scenario:
1) Phone not detected with fastboot devices command
2) Phone goes into "Press any key to shutdown"
3) Just download this .bat file and run it as administrator
4) Remove your phone, get it back into fastboot mode (Power + Volume Down), connect it again
5) Open CMD and try to run any fastboot command & they'll run successfully.
P.S.: I too got my POCO F1 unlocked by using this with the modded MI Unlock app. Was tired of trying usb hub and extension thing though my PC is intel and not amd. It'll be happy to know how and what made it worked from technical aspect. Thank You.

Thank youuuuuuuuuu!!! for years now i couldnt do fastboot from my laptop only from my pc

how can i install drivers without connecting device?
I solved the problem)
1) Open device manager in windows
2) Connect usb cable to your phone pushing vol up button
3) Device manager will show you fastboot device for 2-3 sec (before the phone go to charge mode) Right click on fastboot device and install drivers from C:\Android\sdk\extras\google\usb_driver
4) Reconnect usb cable pushing volup button
I have the same problem but I dont know if cuz my PC is way too slow. I dont even have a chance for it to show up But I know it connected cuz of the alert sound.

Haha I solved my problem by installing the driver in safe mode. Things went much quicker here )
The solution that worked for me was:
Keep the Device Manager open
Connect the phone and quickly choose to change driver
Disconnect the phone again (because it goes into normal mode)
Choose to install a driver from the computer, choose "All devices" and "have disk".
Browse to the folder with the .inf
Now, before clicking Next, connect the phone again and quickly hit Next.
I think it took me two hours of googling and trial before I could finally get a custom ROM installed...

BTW, I used the method with the Xperia Go, so obviously the method is not limited to a particular model.

Hey
I can't even know where will the fastboot device appear to change driver. What can I do? My sola goes in charge mode very quickly I plugged my usb cable in almost 100 times and tried everything.
Okay, I'm totally lost. When I hold volume down button "s1boot download" appers in device manager, but it can't install a proper driver. I know I need s1boot fastboot and hold volume up button but it doesn't appears. Only the portable device with an H:/ partition
Make sure phone is OFF
While plugging in the USB cable, hold and keep holding the UP VOLUME key
You will hear a system sound played
Do all these while you have Device Manager on screen
Exclamation mark appears on the ADB driver icon
Chose the option to look for the driver in your hard disk - point to where the drivers are.
If using Win8 then you need to disable signing of drivers first (search on net how to)
So far you managed to do this or not?

Hey, nothing is working for me. I did the steps above, but with no chance to install any driver. At the driver manager, the s1boot fastboot-thing is showing up for some seconds and then disappear. i can't change the driver or install the new one.
Any suggestions? I want to change to cm9 so much, because the stock rom really sucks...it is slow and buggy
Edit: I found this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554632 and it works for me!!!
Edit 2: It seems, that you have to do this steps everytime you flash the boot.img to the phone.
I did everything. I installed the driver but when I hold volume up while plug in usb, the led does not turn to BLUE. It turns pink or purple, some kind of colour. What should I do guys? I've gone mad.
Thanks

Doesnt work for me either. I tried everything for hours, but i only see a purple LED for a few seconds and then the phone mode changes into charging.
All drivers are installed.
Flashtool doesnt recognize the Sola either.
Is there a way to flash a recovery without having the Sola bootloader unlocked?
Greetings
still no fastboot
device manager opened
phone off, holding vol. up plugging in usb
NOTHING happens on computer no sound, device manager doesn't refreshes, no purple led on the phone, just enters charging quickly
tried another usb port
tried to enter fastboot from flashtool,
tried to enter with command adb reboot bootloader / adb reboot fastboot
NOTHING happens just reboots normally
So I don't have a clue what's going on there, may the fastboot disappeard or broken?
BUT I used the fastboot for a couple weeks ago in this computer in this usb port, since that I tried some rom does it matter?

Solution
For those who still dont get it to work by "Nerre's" method.
The procedure will be same. You have to download latest android_winusb.inf file. I couldnt get it to work bcz of this. I was using the file from sony site. It was giving me some certificate error. Then I used the lates file downloaded from sdk kit. Then this procedure worked.
Make sure to choose "Android Boot loader Interface" after you select ...winusb.inf file. Then before clicking next, reconnect your device in fastboot mode.
Hope this helps someone.

[Q] XT910 (4.0.4) Wont connect to PC

Hi everyone.
So I have a Motorola Droid RAZR XT910 its on 4.0.4 OTA with no root.
The issue I have is that I connect the phone to my PC via USB cable and it does not pick it up.
A few things you must know is:
•I have windows 7 32-bit and
•I am using the cable that comes with my phone
What happens when I plug my phone is the computer says installing drivers for unknown device and then it claims to have successfully installing them for "unknown device". My phone does give me option to chose what type of connection I want but it does charge.
Things I have tried:
•A different cable
•A different PC
• Re-installing drivers
• Re-installing Motocast
•Trying with USB Debugging enabled and disabled
•Different USB ports
•Factory reset
•Different USB ports
•Tried installing PIM Sync form Google Play Store
So yeah that's my problem any help will be helpful...
Try the drivers here:
http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v...59431210VgnVCM1000008406b00aRCRD&pubid=987654
When you try another cable, make sure that works with another device, and not just for charging.
The below instructions will help you troubleshoot if there is a problem with the usb connector on your phone.
1.Power off and disconnect usb cable.
2.Press and hold vol up and down, then hold the power button.
3.You should come to a boot mode selection menu.
4.Press vol down twice to highlight AP fastboot, press vol up once to select.
5.You should see AP fastboot flash mode (s), with last 2 lines saying "Connect USB, Data Cable"
6.Connect your USB cable to your PC and phone, and see if it says USB connected.
7. If nothing happens then it's probably a hardware problem, get it repaired.

Hi thank you for your help.
So I did this method on my PC and it was unsuccessful but i tried it on my mothers and it worked!
So I will update the drivers on my mothers PC and see If I can successfully connect to her PC and use USB mass storage for the first time since I've had Ice Cream Sandwich!
I will keep you updated
Its definitely software. Ill have to wait till there's a rooting application that doesn't require a connection between a PC and phone. One rooted I can flash a ROM from there on...
On your mother's PC, it worked in AP fastboot right? As in the words "USB connected" appears on your phone.
From there you can flash a rom.

The ap fastboot worked for me but when i restarted the phone it still wont connect with mass storage. i do not own a motorola usb cable mine is an LG and i dont really have money to buy one. bought the phone on ebay and it did not ship with one so ive been using this. it only connects as charging.

ROG Phone Not Recognized by PC in Fastboot Mode. Recognized OK in ADB mode.

I just got the phone today. i unlocked it with the ASUS-provided tool. No problems. I enabled developer mode and USB debugging, no problem. I can see the device when I connect it to my PC and type "ADB Devices". No problem there.
My problem is when I enter FASTBOOT mode (vol-up + power). If I connect the phone to my PC and type "fastboot devices" it comes up blank.
I tried multiple versions of ADB/Fastboot, and multiple cables and ports on multiple computers. The ROG phone just isn't recognized by fastboot (My old Pixel XL is recognized by Fastboot on the same PC).
Does anybody know why the ROG Phone isn't being picked up by fastboot when adb works fine on the same machine?
[UPDATE 1]: I also updated my USB driver and the device is in Device Manager as ASUS ADB Android Device when plugged in as USB debugging. When in Fastboot mode, the device does not show up in Device Manager at all.
It might not return anything but maybe it could execute commands. I think you want to flash TWRP am i correct?. If so try to run the commands and see if it executes them. I am also facing the same issue but i haven't unlocked my bootloader yet and i have no plans to do it yet.
Update: It seems my laptop doesn't detect my phone in fastboot mode also. If you go to the device manger window nothing changes when you connect your device to the computer/laptop. Could this has to do with me not unlocking the bootloader yet.
This is not the case with my Nexus 6p, when i am in the bootloader mode my laptop detects it fine and it shows a bootloader interface driver in the device manger window. which is obviously not the case for the ROG phone.
By the way when my Asus is on and connected it detects it by its name "ASUS_Z01QD" and not "ASUS ADB Android Device".
Thanks for the reply. Seems we're more or less in the same boat. I guess I'll hang tight until someone smarter than I am posts a step by step rooting guide. Till then, no Fastboot and no TWRP, it seems.
I was able to get fastboot to detect. I plugged the cable into the side USB slot, not the bottom.
When I plug it into the bottom, my device is not detected either.
I am using a USB-A to micro-USB cable with a micro-USB to USB-C adapter.
When I get home, I'll check if the USB-C cable that came with the device works with fastboot when plugged into the side slot.
I contacted ASUS support, and they said to use the USB-C port on the side of the phone. Don't I feel dumb. The only thing I didn't try.
This happens on my rog 3 too.. debug detects on my bottom side. But it only charges on my side port.. any help pls?
So i got it to work. It was my cable problem lol.. all good now and im back to my lovable Android 10!
OK so i was also stucked and nothing seems to be work i put the cable at the side port but same no detection i tried change cable nothing works...
simple is put cable on side and restart bootloader **** this is real works ... lol hit
gimme a like if it works for u too
I was having the same issue. Was thinking I was going to have to start troubleshooting with different cables and computers but just changing to the side port actually worked. Wouldn't have thought of that on my own. I made an account here just to say thank you to this multi year old thread lol.

Cant unlock Bootloader Period.

I have just got my phone today and have spent 5 hours trying to get to the point where the mi unlock software tells me to wait 72 hours.
I put my phone in fastboot mode and as soon as I connect it to the computer it disappears. Tried 5000 different ways to do this and even
wiped my pc with a clean install of windows but no matter what my phone is not recognized in the unlock tool. Please steer me in the right direction.
I'm sure I'm not the first person with this issue.
If I remember correctly, the unlock tool has an installable driver in the settings option. That should make the phone detectable in fastboot

I was facing the same issue, go to Device manager in Windows 10. In the View tab enable show hidden devices, then you should see Android Phone on the top. Click the right arrow and uninstall drivers under Android phone, connect your phone again and the drivers should be installed.
Windows 10 should detect your device in Fastboot mode now onwards.

unlocker said proper driver installed but install screen stays greyed out. What a pain the butt this is.
If I recall it right you just have to go to the mi unlock site and apply, the unlock is bouund to the mi account.
Have you tried a different usb port? Heard pocophone is finicky on usb 3.0, maybe use a usb 2.0 port.
Try another USB port. It solved for me.

All my Xiaomi phones, including Poco F1, are recognized in Windows 10, and I've unlocked them all in Windows 10. So it shouldn't be Windows.
Why is your phone going to a black screen when you boot in fastboot mode ?
I don't know how to solve your problem though. I reboot my phone into fastboot while not connected to the PC, and it surely will show the fastboot animation screen. Then I plug in the cable to the PC, and the unlock tool will start its work.
Maybe redownload the MI unlocker tool ... or create a new MI account and re-bind that account under developer options ...
unlocking boot loader will wipe all the data right?
That is correct. You need to wait 3 days when unlocking the bootloader. That is Xiaomi's waiting period for the Pocophone.
Better than Samsung's 7 day wait, and better than LG's way of having to request an unlock key.
Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
@Apgibby
Are you putting the phone in bootloader mode, connect it to the PC and then opening the Mi Unlocker? The correct sequence is open the Unlocker, put your phone in bootloader mode and then connect it to the PC. Try it.
If still not working, open the adb command window on your PC, put your phone in bootloader mode and connect it to the PC. Now type "fastboot devices" (without the quotation marks). You should get a serial number with alphabets and numerals. If you get it, it is confirmation that your drivers for bootloader are working. Try this and let us know the result.
Lastly, try another PC.
Solved used windows 7 with usb 2.0 ports.

Unable to unlock bootloader - error message in Chinese

I've waited 17 days after linking my Mi account to my Mi8L. I've unlocked more than half a dozen Xiaomi phones, so it's not new to me. However, it stops at 99% and spits out an error message in Chinese. Does anyone know what it means? https://drive.google.com/open?id=1dl6tPZdx7HfFwxQWel3hhjl9doFE5s8S
It means you haven't been using the phone for the necessary amount of time, so unlock isn't possible.
You're probably on a shop or chinese variant that need you to wait 30 days until unlocking.
Sorry for my bad english

It's strange because when I tried previously, it told me I had to wait 15 days, and I waited longer than that (I took note of the date and time).
Same with me.
Use Mi Unlock 2.3.803.10 (old version).
Works perfectly.
I do not know if you can help me, I was unlocking the Mi 8 Lite requested 15 days to wait after this period I was unlocking and to my surprise the fastboot mode when I connect the USB cable it erases and I can not unlock.
Developer options enabled, usb debugging enabled and oem unlocking also recognizes more when I log in to fastboot it shuts off

I'm not sure if you're doing it rightly. Adb works when device is on and fastboot when device is in bootloader/fastboot mode.
When you type for first time adb devices with device power on then you have to see a message from your android screen asking if you want to allow USB debugging, you have to tap on always allow and then in ok.
Provide some screenshot from your pc to see the fail.

Try uninstalling all the drivers; those that you don´t use and those related with Xiaomi devices and install Mi PC Suite just to get installed the drivers https://mipcsuite.com open it for first time and connect it with your device on just to update drivers between both but when you´ll go to use MiFlash Unlock close it.
The USB cable used for your device is not to be shared with other devices so any of them creates a kind of data map on data wires and pc can have a sort of mistake trying to detect your device rightly.
Then to make all these steps start the process from adb as mentioned before sending with adb command to your device to bootloader/fastboot mode, this is just to confirm that pc is detecting it at both levels; adb and fastboot.

Of course, this is what´s written.
When PC detects device connected on fastboot or download mode then it holds it to avoid that it reboots while some data is transferring from and to each other.
If you put device on fastboot mode without connecting it to any PC then it will shutdown in 4 seconds aprox.
But like your case when PC detects that a device is connected but not in any transferring mode then it prompts to shutdown device.
For this I said that your PC is not recognicing it at fastboot mode, and installing again the drivers could solve the issue.
