Locking apps? - Samsung Galaxy A10 Questions & Answers

Okay so when I hit the recent apps button and all of my active apps pop up and I hit the icon like I'm going to enter split screen view at the bottom there is an option to lock the app? I figured that meant you couldn't close out of it or anything but you still can close out of it. Can't find anything about it anywhere on the internet someone could please explain that would he awesome!

Starting phone from standy in landscape mode

So I have a habit of sliding the phone open and then pressing the hardware messaging key, and no matter what, it never seems to work. I press the button, and Ill see the today screen, but no messaging window. I have to slide it back closed and open again and everything sorts itself out.
I've tried looking, but haven't seen anyone complain about this particular problem. Anyone else fret about this? any solutions?
no one has this problem?

I find my X01HT in landscape mode when i wake him um with the "on" button, and have to wait for it to "think" a litle bit to obey me, while that, if I try to push any command he will go crazy and the image will stay locked in the last scene and will not get actualized... Kind of annoying thing, using black Satin... But i'll try schaps now to see if that goes away...

Im on WM5.
Vijay, I don't want to disable orientation permanently. Just sometimes, I want to start messaging, so in stanby mode itself, ill open and start it up. thats what confuses the 8525, thats all. I have to close the phone, and then slide it open again for it to regain consciousness!
Its no biggie, but i was just wondering if any1 else had a similar issue.

I've come to notice that no one REALLY knew how to fully disable screen rotation on WM devices.
Some offered 3rd party apps to get the job done, some only knew how to disable automatic rotation, but when the device went into standby and woke up again - the screen rotated back. So that didnt really work.
So if you're as desperate as i was about screen rotation,
this is what you need to do:
1. Get dotfred's free taskmanager HERE, and run it.
2. Go to "Devices" tab, and look for "MIS1:" device (oem_misc.dll)
3. Long-Tap on it, and tap on "Stop"
4. Long-Tap on it again, and now choose "Set Manual"
5. Go to "Notifications" tab, and look for "Notifications\NamedEvents\VCPowerWakeupEvent"
6. Tap on it to make it selected
7. Disable it
(In dotfred's taskmanager, there should be a button for disabling it, but for some reason some devices couldn't see the button icons, although the buttons are still clickable. Under the notifications list there is an empty light-blue line - the buttons are there, eventough you can't see them.
The disable buttons is somewhere i the middle of that light-blue line, just tap the center until a message box popps up and asks if you'd like to disable this notification - Tap on yes.)All those steps are a one time deal - they stick even after an SR.
This has been tested on htc universal and works great.
The screen will keep its orientation even if you flip your screen, take out your built in keyboard, or turn the device off and back on.
The only time your screen will revert back to the original orientation is when you soft reset your device.
Hope this helps

Organizing your menu?

Sorry I sound like the biggest noob here but how do you change ur menu around? like the stuff above your 2 action buttons like (home, people, messages, mail, opera etc etc) the reason why I want to do this is to delete some of them like Twitter and Stocks (since I don't use them), I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know how to change it?
You mean on the home screen? If so then press Menu>Edit Quick Links. If I misunderstood sorry.
Thanks for the response, but no, I'm talking about the tabs above the button "Menu" like where it shows Start, All People, Message, Box, and you can drag the tabs to each different section, I was wondering how I can delete someo f them.
O Ok sorry. You mean Start>settings>personalize>Home Screen Tabs
Then uncheck what you dont want...I hope Im following what you mean now

[Q] How to add a toggle for Recent App?

Hi, I would like to know how I can toggle Recent App of ICS. It can be shown by long clicking on the home button. The one that has preview because I don't like to be pressing so much my home button as I am noticing improper responses from it. Is there a way to put this as an icon or widget on the homescreen? Thx
Anyone? Tried apps like button savior, etc. But it shows their built-in recent apps instead of the firmware's or samsung's.
BUMP
I know this post is old, but Im trying to figure a way too without using an app or service BUMP\
I found what I was looking for in app LMT using the "invisible swipe gestures" set to top center of screen so that swiping top left is notifications, top right is quick settings, and top center opens recents. This is for anyone who might be searching and happen to land on this dead thread. Any other particular method of shortcut will work if you set it to Activities>SystemUI>Overview.recents is the path to this.
sent from the tapatalk app on my S3 running whatever rom Im running this week
I use GMD Gestures, because my sensitive buttons aren't working. Before, I used CM official inbuilt option that you can change the option sensitive (or back) button for recent Apps. Can really recommend that. Greetings.

fastest way to force stop an app?? help please

what is the fastest, easiest way to force stop an app ?? i know settings, apps, find app, but with a bunch of apps its a pita. any other tricks, shortcuts, safe apps, or any other ideas?? not looking at hiding the notification, but stopping the app.
say 2 things, new to oreo and s9, last phone was an s7. anyways, if i had a program running in the notifications, say for my motorcycle gps, tomtom, i was able to long press the notification, then go to app data and force stop. not seeing that anymore.
Trying to find the fastest way to force stop an app running, that has a notification. for example this one says connect device. I am not trying to hide the notification, but force close it when i don't want it running. for example this app gives me live traffic, sometimes i want it, sometimes i don't.
thanks much for the time
settings, developer options, running services
that seems to work too, and the app i want to end is on the first page.
seems easier than the apps, and scrolling down to the Ms
hmm
Greenify, then you can set what you want to force close, and then make a home screen button. Bam it easily blows them away.
Recents, long press the app icon on the left, wait for the i info letter to appear on the right, press i, force stop.
You're welcome

thank you so much!!!!
I just moved from s7. on s7 android 7 I can long press shortcut on home and can tab on i icon That menu has removed.
The apps you actively use are closed when you swipe them away in recents. You dont need any fancy force closing. Try it. Open recents, swipe away the app, when you open it again it loads from scratch. Or am I missing something?
Smashing the phone on the ground.

That not correct. Some application even you remove it from recent app it still run in background.
In my case Facebook Messenger is often cause media sound issue, after end call sometime media sound route to earpiece. Two way to solve that is kill the app or restart phone.
You can use my apps Killapps and Hibernator
