Problems with Google Play - Honor 20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi all Honor 20 Pro users! Lately I've been having problems with using Google Play to search apps. It displays that it doesn't find anything on Play store. I've been using the phone for a month now and everything worked pretty well until a weak or so ago.
Now, when I try searching for a app to install, it doesn't give me any hits. I can browse and install everything browsable, but I can't search for few apps that I used. They are still there, but nowhere to be found. Not even in My Apps library..
I noticed the same thing when I try to use Google Play on my desktop..
Google Play Games sometimes connect, and sometimes it doesn't.
What could be the problem?
I tried clearing Play store cache, but nothing.
Ps: I'm writing here because I noticed this first on my phone, so it might be related.

Same here. no Apps only Movies and TVs.

Could be a problem with internet. I had it once, but went to a different network and it became normal again. Hope it's fixed by now!

Play Store not downloading apps via computer

When I visit Google Play from my computer and try to install an app, it doesn't work.
I've tried force-stopping Google Play on my phone and restarting it, but that hasn't done anything.
I have flashed a couple of ROMs over the last few days, so I'm thinking that might have something to do with it, although that never affected my old phone at all.
Am I missing something really obvious? Can someone suggest a fix?
Is the phone's data connection working without issue?
If you're running on 3G and your phone went to fast dormancy it could take several seconds before it even registers the Download attempt/
It's connected to wifi, sleep policy is "Never"...
Fixed it. I deleted my Google account from the phone, and then added it again. Went to Google Play on the phone and downloaded an app. Then went to Google Play on computer, and selected another app - this time it installed to my phone instantly.
Don't know why this worked, but it did
This didn't work.

[Q] Weird problem with the Play Store app

This is in a way an odd question that I have to ask. So earlier today I wanted to check out a new game and I opened the play store app on my phone and to my surprise the image at the top on the main page where they usually promote different apps, music and books was a NSFW definitely not Google approved image. Now I'm not a prude or anything but I definitely do not watch porn on my phone. So I was very stumped by seeing that in the play store app. I checked around to see if other people were having this problem and it didn't seem to be the case. I tried deleting the play store app's cache.. restarted the phone.. nothing same image. Finally I decided to try and uninstall updates for the app and that worked. But now I am worried.. could another app be taking over doing things it shouldn't be? Is that even possible? Should I do a factory reset just to be safe? For the record I only have apps from the play store and the amazon market installed on the phone I'm currently using and the phone is not even rooted. Any ideas?

Maybe google considers some of the apps you installed from the amazon store to be NSFW apps..

Missing apps from my apps list in play store.

This has happened to me as well. I think I started after Google Play was updated to version 4.3.11.
I have like 120 apps installed. The "Installed" tab under "My apps" now says I've got 9: Barcode Scanner, GTasks Key, K-9 Mail, Official XBMC Remote, Pure Calendar, Pure Grid Calendar, Soundhound, Superuser and USSD/MMI Fix. If I flip to the "All" tab, all my apps are still there. From there I can view information about the apps, but those that are not among those 9 will say that they're not compatible with my device.
My device is a rooted HTC Desire Z (called G2/Vision in North America), with some "EliteMod" 4.0.4 ROM - which have been working perfectly for well over a year. I was thinking it was some kind of Apple-style scam by Google to force users of old, rooted devices to upgrade.. xD
When trying (and failing) to figure out how to tell a living person at Google that 90 % of my installed apps and probably 99 % of the apps in Play Store are missing, I discovered the following added comment here:
"We’ve heard of some users suddenly missing apps under the My Apps section of the Google Play Store app. This is a known issue that we are currently investigating, and updates can be found on our Known Issues page."
I found no updates on it on the "Known issues" page, though.
I have the same problem
Hey guys,
I have the same problem after updating Play Store to 4.3.11. My installed apps went missing, I am not able to search for any apps on Play Store, app in all apps tab arent available in my country anymore (all these apps were available in my country before the update) play.google.com does not show my device, well its really frustrating. I wonder when google will fix this problem. I guess its something to do with their framework services.

I've fixed it today, I'm not exactly sure how, as I tried a dozen different things I read online. Including uninstalling Adfree, removing hosts-file, clearing app-data for some Google Service-apps, flashing gapps one more time, etc.
But what I did just before it started working again, was to remove my Google account (the one used on Play Store, you can remove it from "Accounts/Synchronization" under Settings), restart the device, and then re-add the account again (in "Accounts/Synchronization"-settings). Then everything became as perfect as it was.

Thanks trollsperm. I will try that today. BTW, I have observed one more thing. The playstore works just fine after a new flash on Wi-Fi, but it goes back to the no working state as soon as I switch from Wi-Fi to Mobile Network. Have you encountered that?
I have tried your suggestion of deleting the account and re-add the account. This was the outcome
1.The play store started working fine and app sync was flawless. This was on Wi-Fi
2. I switched to the mobile internet and the play store worked fine until I rebooted the phone. The play store stopped working and apps were missing after the reboot with the mobile network on.
3. I then cleared the play store cache and data and switched on WiFi. Opened play store and voila the play store worked normally.
4. I did the same process on the mobile network but it didn't work out.
I guess the Google location services are kinda screwed up on the mobile network and not on WiFi.

Then I'm afraid your issue is different than mine. For me, the result have always been the same, whether or not I'm on Wifi or mobile. I can now browse Play Store both on Wifi and mobile, and rebooting changes nothing.
When I experienced the issue of "empty" Play Store, the Wifi-connection icon in the upper right corner were always gray (instead of blue) - something that's usually only happening if I'm connected to a wireless network, but the router isn't connected to the actual internet.
My conclusion is inconclusive, I'm just happy that it's back to normal..
Hi guys,
I'm facing the exact same problem as rahulananda.
In my case, the play store running on my Galaxy S4 and also on my notebook, is empty - searchs returns nothing and whey I access directly an app page, it says the app is not available in my country (Brazil).
For me, play store works fine over when mobile data (4G) is enabled, it doesn't work at all on wifi.
I also have a Galaxy S3 which is working perfectly on wifi and also mobile data.
It doesn't seem to be related to play store version, as in all my devices it is currently on version 4.3.11 - besides it is also not working on my laptop.
But, indeed, this is an issue to determine the location - for some reason, over my wifi, and rahulananda's mobile data, Play Store is unable to determine the country.
I found this on Google's Known issues: support.google.com/googleplay/known-issues/1319135?hl=en reffer to issue 8324410.
Hope they fix this soon, this is driving me crazy!!!
Let me know if you find a solution!
Its a simple fix as long as you have root.If you do look at this:
1. Navigate to the Build.prop
2. Find these 2 lines:
Code:
ro.build.description=
ro.build.fingerprint=
3. Delete everything in front of the "=" sign
4. Download a custom rom for another device that has great compatibility with apps(htc one, sgs4)
5. Copy those lines from its build.prop to yours
6. Reboot and Enjoy your market:good:
Well, my problem has been solved after applying the latest CM10 nightly update.

Images in the Play Store are not loading :(

Hi all,
When I opened the Play Store this morning looking for some new apps, I noticed 99% of the images are not loading/being displayed.
I tried clearing the catch off my apps, clearing the catch of the Play Store, clearing the data if the Play Store, restarting my phone, disabling my WiFi, resetting my network settings and logging out/in from my Google account.
Nothing seems to help.
What can I do to fix this? It suddenly happened this morning so I was wondering if maybe this is an temp problem due to Google conducting some kind of maintenance?
Many thanks!
Are apps installing slowly?
If they are, you probably have to restart your router

I was guessing there might be an issue with my WiFi as well, but when I download an app they download with over 15MB/s (150Mbit). I also tried switching of my WiFi and launching the Play Store using my 4g connection. Same issue unfortunately. Only a few or none of the app icons and images are loaded. Even when I go to the 'my apps' sections within the Play Store I just see the names and no icons.
I just checked my wife's phone (we both have just purchased an S7 edge). She has the same issue. We are using the same Android account email address. I assume this is not the issue? It almost looks like a Play Store issue as the coincidence is just too big...
Same here
I just checked the Play Store via my laptop. Same issue. Many icons of apps are not showing up. Must be a Play Store issue.

Pocophone stops my downloads in playstore

You see when i download files above 1gb i download it before i sleep. Last night i download 2 games that is above 1.5gb and when i woke up the downloading progress is gone. Theres no notification that theres an error while downloading, its just gone. This happened twice already and i dont think its in the wifi. How do i fix this? Is this something about the phone sleeps during night time to save battery?
maybe its the miui, not the pocophone itself.

It has nothing to do with either Poco or MIUI. Blame it on Google server. I have faced this issue several times on my Nokia 7 plus, Mi A1, Nokia 8.1 and initially had the same reaction like you. Then I did a little research and found out Android has this issue forever. Not everyone faces it everytime. But this issue is very common and data consuming.
I think is something related with the ROM itself. It occurs to me serveral times randomly and after several hours or even days it continues downloading normally.
After a lot of reasearch all over the web I find a way to mitigate this effect, go to Settings, Apps and find Google Play Store and Google Play Services, first wipe cache of both, if it doesn't works try to clear data, but it could have collateral damages, as the Play Store could be innaccesible, in which case you have to reinstall the ROM over.
Hope it helps.
downgrade the playstore , (factory default) and then try updating! or use apkpure store!
i faced same issue and i started using apkpure! ( might be there is fix out there) but then I was too lazy to find

Is apkpure like playstore or is does it only download apks. Guess i'll have to use that for offline games if clearing cache and data wont work.
