Following this guide for VOG-L04 users you will find out how to flash on a carrier branded device using a different cust firmware, shared by @oremor305 and reconfirmed by @cre4per for working on a VOG-L04 C792 cust.
If you need to revive a softbricked device (bootloader depending), follow post #463. This method is working also for devices with C900 cust.
HOW TO flash dload FW:
UPGRADE USING OTG ADAPTER or OTG CABLE + USB MEMORY STICK
1. Extract dload folder from downloaded archive above (dload folder with all 3 zips inside) and copy to your memory stick / drive (formatted as exFat or NTFS) that will be used to upgrade
2. BACKUP your stuffs if you haven't done yet
3. Factory Reset your phone (optional) and POWER it OFF
4. Insert your OTG + memory stick / drive with the right firmware on it (dload folder with all 3 zips inside)
5. ON EMUI 10 enter eRecovery by pressing POWER+VOLUME UP and keep them pressed untill you see Huawei on screen. Release the POWER button and keep pressing VOLUME UP untill you are in eRecovery menu, then release button. When in menu, select Update mode, then select Memory card/OTG update mode and it should start the update.
UPGRADE USING Huawei NM Card
1. Extract dload folder from downloaded archive above (dload folder with all 3 zips inside) and copy to your Huawei NM Card
2. BACKUP your stuffs if you haven't done yet
3. Factory Reset your phone (optional) and POWER it OFF
OR
If you want to do it from sistem after you've made your backup and had an Factory Reset (optional), insert OTG + memory stick / drive OR copy dload folder with all 3 zips inside to your Huawei NM Card and dial this code on dialer *#*#2846579#*#* then select 4.Software Update then 1.Memory card Upgrade . If your inserted card / memory stick or USB drive or Huawei NM Card it's recognised and has the right files, your phone will restart & start flashing the firmware. At the end after succesfully flashed firmware, you can remove the OTG (if you used one).
How to check for update using eRecovery on EMUI 10 / 10.1 :
It doesn't require a cable plugged in and using this method in order to update WON'T wipe your phone data, it's acting like an normal OTA. In order to acces eRecovery, Power OFF your device or Restart it. Press then simultaneously POWER+VOLUME UP and keep them pressed untill you see Huawei on screen. Release the POWER button and keep pressing VOLUME UP untill you are in eRecovery menu, then release button. When in menu, select Update mode, then select eRecovery mode then Update and recover system then Download update and recover. Connect it to Wi-Fi and it should start the update. If it's still the version you're atm, you can hit Cancel and then Restart. If it's a newer version than the one installed, let it download and update. At the end, it will restart to system.
Clean and succesfully flashings, guys & keep in mind that you can donate me in order to maintain this thread alive or if my firmwares helped you or you just appreciate my work @xda :highfive:

IF you want to remove ads and you have no root or don't wan't to block your VPN or use Blokada, you can use my trick, it works on both WI-FI and mobile networks, as good as Adaway is doing :
Just set: Settings > Wi-Fi & Internet > Private DNS > dns.adguard.com OR dot-de.blahdns.com then press Save & enjoy ad free browsing without any additional app. These are secure DNS servers that have integrated ad blocking. Adguard is a Russian company, blahdns is a small hobby project with a good history.
Extra step for Chrome users:
- Open Chrome, type in chrome://flags, search for async DNS resolver (#enable-async-dns) and choose disabled in the drop down menu, otherwise Chrome could use a built in dns resolver which does not block ads.

In order to remove Huawei bloatware (and get a better battery lifetime) without root access and using ADB & USB Debugging, please check my thread from the link bellow:
Remove Huawei Bloatware Without Root Access - using ADB & USB Debugging
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a comprehensive battery optimization mini guide to achieve the best possible SOT's on Huawei phones go to Settings/Battery/App launch and disable the app or give permission to the app you need to run in background (ex. NOT working in background Netflix is set to Managed manually with NO Auto-launch, NO Secondary launch and NO Run in background; WORKING AUTO - OUTLOOK - Manage automatically). Next you can customize notifications separately for any customisable app in own settings.

For me after 2 days of usage it seems more stable and battery life friendly than v173 and i might think that this is the final and stable release. But seeing that some users receive it straight from EMUI 9.1 i still have my reservations, because the rest of us that are on EMUI 10 v168 or v173 received it through HiCare or eRecovery, not by official method (OTA from Settings)
We'll need to wait for a whille and see what the rest of us (EMUI 9.1 and EMUI 10) will receive and follow Huawei statements online.

Oh and my phone now works in E recovery. It gets the latest package info. Which means 10.0.0.178 will be available in UK.

Try it whille you're on EMUI 9.1, v260, if it gets you the same EMUI 10 version or the same EMUI 9.1 v260 . Then you'll know if it's available as a final release or as an update for EMUI 10 pre-release built (v173 or yet for v178) you were before.

adamlee2012 said:
While I was on 168 and 173 it would fail to get package info. So I'm guessing my devices recognises 178 and is able to download it via recovery. I've just set my phone back up from scratch so I can't be bothered to downgrade again lol.

Oh, got it. I've read earlier that you downgraded and therefore i thought you still are on EMUI 9.1 :silly:.
Maybe someone else who's still on EMUI 9.1 v260 and reads our discussion and can make a test and get us out of our dillema

I tried to stay on emui 9.1 but the interface is ugly and I was used to the more modern look on emui 10 plus performance and animations are soo much smoother.

i know that feeling, i've made my wife's VOG-L29 Orange branded today from scratch (downgrade with HiSuite to EMUI 9.1 v260, checked for updates then using dload to get to v178) and it seems kinda old interface rather then the one from EMUI 10 .

[Failure] Debrand with SRK Tool Huawei

After failing the Debrand following method [VDO-GUIDE] How to debrand Huawei Phone by SRK Tool Huawei by @somboons i'm asking some help or guidance regarding to fix this asap since this is my main phone
This was a C02B131 to C432B161 process
I'll explain (like i did in original thread [VDO-GUIDE] How to debrand Huawei Phone by SRK Tool Huawei):

So here's the current situation:
Before this procedure i had already the C432B161 inside sccard dload folder.

The warranty is invalid just unlock bootloader
When the red text shows, just unlock bootloader again and repeat steps for installing twrp and root.
You don't actually need the update extractor, since you can just type in the version of VIE you'd like to transfer to. ( VIE-L29C185B152 example ). After that just flash the b152 ( or any other rom you've named in step 10 in SRK tool ) using sd card method. When you install stock recovery again you should be recieving OTA updates.

At the time i got so mad and frustrated that i moved to iPhone 7!
But... You know... Apple have those limitations that i'm not used to, like mirror to TV just by enabling a feature without having to buy a box to do it! The share system PC-over-PHONE etc etc...
So i'm wiling to go back to Huawei and i might get another P9 Plus or Mate 9, still deciding.
But really thanks for the time you spent to reply me to try to solve some one else problem! Really appreciated.
By the way, does P9 Plus operator variants will get Nougat? Couldn't find the confirmation anywhere.
Ah, backstabbing android ?
Yes the Nougat update is coming soon! As official huawei page and chat said to me. It is ought to happen this month so i am eagerly awaiting for it every day. I would strongly suggest you go for a Mate, that is my wish also. Also, you could stick with that bitten apple for a couple of months and grab a Huawei P10 that is also coming with + suffix let's say somewhere in april, may, like the P9 did last year.
Cheers mate, all the best luck in returning to android family ?

Is that possible to flash Oppo Reno x10 rom CPH1919 to china model PCCM00?

My friend buy reno 10x from china and he sell it to me i Thailand.
Anyone know is that possible to flash thailand rom(CPH1919EX) in to chinese phone(PCCM00)? I need to convert Chinese to Thai.
I found how to update firmware with SD Card from oppo website here..
https://oppo.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6636
Will it work? Or I need other flash tool?
and I found
The oppo website Thai version are for CPH1919EX
https://oppo-th.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Reno+10x+Zoom
After I download it I got a file are .ozip format?!?!?
http://downloads.oppo.com.s3.amazon...9/CPH1919EX_11_OTA_0110_all_JPm1xztqBeum.ozip
I'm not sure it need to use "ozip" or webmaster mistake for zip!??
From oppo australia website firmware for same model link..
https://oppo-au.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Reno 10x Zoom
But it different file and version?!?
https://downloads.oppo.com.s3.amazo...19/CPH1919EX_11_OTA_0100_all_I8XnaGpC4zXf.zip
So I confused.Anyone ever try? update flash rom CPH1919EX to PCCM00? Should I try?
And is that Aus version different from Thai version? can I try them both?
I was call to oppo thailand office but,they don't help me any thing,Just said buy from china no support in thailand.
Hope I can get help here.Please..
I also have a PCCM00 Chinese model Oppo Reno 10X Zoom - which I bought simply because it has awesome features... although I do currently have an iPhone XS Max from my carrier. I was hoping it would be able to replace my iPhone - which I hate. But the Chinese customizations on the phone make it quite a pain to use for me (no offense to the Chinese, I am sure those customizations are super-useful to them, just not for me).
I downloaded the Australian, UK, Indian versions of the firmware from the Oppo support sites (I visited each individual country's support page) - they were all having the extension .zip and the exact same file names so I am assuming they are the same firmware with possibly some minor localization customization.
I copied these .zip files (added country name to the file name) each one to a SD card. Powered down my phone, inserted the SD card into the phone and rebooted in the safemode/recovery mode for Oppo (volume down and power button pressed for 4 seconds).
I went to the install from SD card option and selected the India file first - it started installing, but midway gave an error saying unable to install/failed.
The same happened with all the other countries with the .zip extension - with the installation erroring out midway.
I am now going to try the Thai version (.ozip file) will let you know how it goes.

I think downloading international ROM and trying to install on the Chinese variant is not working. You have to wait for official bootloader unlock. Oppo Reno (non 10x zoom version) is open for unlocaking the bootloader officially, so I am assuming official bootloader unlock is coming for 10x zoom version soon.

How do you know Oppo Reno is open for unlocking? Source please.
I asked Oppo official and they said they won't release unlock codes for the Reno because it opens up too big of a security risk. (I can post the quote later). They implied that they will never release them..

Yes, unfortunately that is correct.
I tried all the stock ROMs available - only the Chinese version of the ROM can be installed on the PCCM00 model using the stock loader. None of the other localized ROMs will work on the PCCM00.

interesting, to clearify, here is the translation:
The OPPO mobile phone depth test has already supported the official version of the Find X/R17 Pro/Reno series. Users who have successfully joined the deep test can unlock the mobile phone. For the information of other models, please pay attention to the latest news of this post.
[Apply to join the depth test conditions]
The application must meet all of the following conditions:
1. Published time must be more than 3 months;
2. No application record within 60 days;
3. OPPO account has been last login for more than 60 days in this device;
4. The number of deep test users has not reached the upper limit;
5. No Customized, government enterprises or companies mobile phones;
6. Support listed mobile phones in mainland China.
[Application to join the depth test instructions]
1. Joining a test plan may have unpredictable impacts on the phone;
2. The three-party firmware may cause some functions of the mobile phone to malfunction, such as taking a photo with the camera. And may cause damage to the equipment;
3. Personal security and privacy on the mobile phone may cause leakage, and security is not guaranteed;
4. Some system functions may be modified after joining the test plan, which will affect the system version upgrade and cannot experience the latest ColorOS service;
5. After joining the test plan, the status of the mobile phone is equivalent to restoring the factory settings. It is recommended to back up the data in advance;
6. The phone after joining the test plan cannot be repaired for free.
[Unlock tutorial]
1. Download the installation depth test APK, enter the depth test APK, connect to the OPPO account, click the “Start Application” button, and follow the prompts to complete the application process. If the application is successful, the following interface will be displayed. (Successful partners who submit the review must switch the version back to the official version and upgrade to the version that supports the deep test when the OTA detects the latest version, otherwise the verify will not pass);

So yes this program will allow to unlock your bootloader but only if you make it into the program, and even then people don't get their phone unlocked, if you read other posts on xda about "oppo depth test".
I may be a new victim of the PCCM00 version. I did apply so now I got to wait 28 days, but then I am not quite sure what to do, to be able to achieve better android experience.
any update on this thread? I want to go from PCCM00 to any version which has english as main language

Struggling to downgrade... -Help needed please

I'm trying to downgrade from 9.1 to any version that allows a bootloader unlock..
I've got a (P20 Lite) (64gb);
ANE-LX1 build 9.1.0.231 (C782E5R1P7)
EMUI 9.1.0
I believe that the C782 refers to the fact it's a UK version and ProjectMenu verifies this:
Vendor: o2
Country: uk
I tried downgrading via HiSuite, except that it gives me no options to downgrade and simply states that I'm up to date.
I also tried putting various firmwares into a dload folder and install via the ProjectMenu sdcard update
as well as a forced update (holding +&- and power whilst booting).
Both methods failed....
I've only used firmwares with 782 in them i.e
Huawei P20 Lite ANE Anne-L21 8.0.0.143(C782) Firmware Android 8.0.0 EMUI 8.0.0 05015EHQ androidhost.ru
or
Huawei P20 Lite ANE-LX1 ANE-L21 Anne-L21 8.0.0.150(C782) Firmware 8.0.0 r1 EMUI8.0 05015EHQ androidhost.ru
I noticed the firmwares were (vendor) hw and (country) eu, maybe this is why the updates are failing?...
I believe there is a way to change the vendor & country to match on the phone to match the firmware I want to install, but I couldn't manage that either...
What am I doing wrong?
Can somebody please verify that I am (at least) using the right firmware(s) or that I could try other firmwares?

I'm pretty sure the drivers are installed correctly as I can communicate over ADB & fastboot. I'll double-check anyway

Update Mate 20 Pro SPSEAS to EMUI 10

I would appreciate anyones help. I have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro Model LYA-L29. When I run the commands it tells me this about my Firmware Version:
VENDORCOUNTRY: HW/SPSEAS
BASE VERSION: LYA-LGRP2-OVS 9.1.0.357
CUSTOM VERSION: LYA-L29-CUST 9.1.0.11 (AUSC636)
OEMINFOREAD: LYA-L29-PRELOAD 9.0.0.1(C636R2)
I want to upgrade to EMUI 10 but whenever I try using HiSuite, HiCare App on Phone it says my version is up to date.
Is there any way to upgrade this phone? I have not unlocked the Bootloader because Huawei is not issuing Codes to do so.
I'd appreciate anyones help with this.
Thanks
i have the same problem
Hello, same issus here
1st thing i would try is to contact huawei support chat.
now the more extreme diy method may break safetynet and stop things such as google pay from working. if you decide to try it, you have been warned.
you can manually force an update through USB OTG.
there is a thread on this forum called "How to update Huawei Mate 20 Pro With Locked Bootloader"
it has the information you need to get it to work.
for the greatest chance of success, you want a firmware with the same cust/preload region as yours
(in the case of the OP this would be C636R2)
note, this can only be done with full firmware files, not updates.
you can use an app called "firmware finder for huawei" (play store) which you can use to find and download the full firmware file.
also, forcing the incorrect firmware will brick your phone. very easy to get confused and try to force a firmware meant for another model completely.
theoretically L29 and L09 variants should both work, however your dual sim functionality might stop working.
I did this sort of thing last year and haven't looked at it for a very long time, just giving some info which may get you on the path if you wish to try the diy method.
ANyone tried? how was it? does it work

Huawei MatePad T8 downgrade

Hi,
I have multiple MatePad T8s 10.1.0.128(C432E3R1P3) (it is original firmware installed in the device when I bought them). I have to downgrade them to 10.0.1.132(C432E3R1P3). Can you please help me with this operation?
This is what I already tried:
I downloaded KOB2-W09 10.0.1.132(C432) [KOB2-W09_hw_eu_R1] Huawei Official Stock Firmware [Stock, dload] [DG] from https://downloadgsm.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=30902.
I extracted it in my PC, dload folder contains:
- update_sd_base.zip
- KOB2-W09_hw_eu
-- update_sd_cust_KOB2-W09_hw_eu.zip
-- update_sd_preload_KOB2-W09_hw_eu_R1.zip
I extracted update_sd_base.zip (it contains UPDATE.APP and some other files) and copied it to dload folder in my tablet's internal storage.
Then I switched on MatePad T8 with power button and volume up button, selected Update Mode and Memory car/OTG update mode. After a while I got Software install failed message, the update package does not exist, please download the package again.
Thanks for any advice.
It is still actual and quite urgent. I can pay to anyone who will provide me clear instructions how to downgrade my tablet. I can pay via Paypal, SEPA or crypto...
HiSuite is the official tool that allows you to flash firmware, backup, and restore all your data of your Huawei devices on your PC. So, I think you may this free utility in order to downgrade firmware for your Huawei MatePad T8.
Sorry, I forgot to mention, that I have already tried HiSuite. Huawei customer support advised that I should see Switch to other version button in HiSuite (probably when I update the tablet to the latest version). Unfortunately, there is no Switch to other version button in HiSuite.
