Are third party Type C HUB Docking Stations compatible with Asus ROG phone 2? - ASUS ROG Phone II Accessories

There are many Type C HUB Docking Stations available in the market (particularly on AliExpress) for Macbooks/Windows laptops and Galaxy Note devices. Is the Asus ROG phone 2 compatible with them? If anybody has tested any of them then please post a link to the product here. Also let me know if any other app/root, etc. might be needed to support such a dock.

What do you mean by works? I was under the impression Game Genie blocks all mapping from anything thats not ASUS branded..

I've been using this Baseus dock. Works well, nice and compact, and very reasonably priced.
{Mod edit}

I have this Baseus dock, I never tested keyboard and mouse. And does the mapping function work on this dock?

Haven't tried the mapping function. What is that exactly?
Keyboard and mouse work fine

Can people that have successfuly paired AND used bluetooth keyboards and mice with the Transformer please list the make and model of the hardware you are using?
I just tried a Microsoft bluetooth keyboard and mouse (older models) and the mouse wont pair, the keyboard pairs and connects but wont type anything even when its set to use it for input.
Please share as much detail as possible on the compatible makes and models.
I have a dell bt keyboard and mouse bundle and they pair and function properly.

I'm using the excellent Logitech V470 mouse. Works very well, including the scroll wheel both vertically and horizontally with tilt.
Logitech DiNovo Edge works perfectly, including the built in trackpad.
microsoft Bluetooth 5000 seems to work well and scroll, on sale at Bestbuy for $35

+1 on the Dell bluetooth mouse.
I had a problem in the beginning with the PIN code for the mouse, but once that was cleared, it worked.

I paired mine with the Logitech Mediaboard and both the touch pad and keyboard work great.

What about the back button on the mouse? Is it working too? Thanks
so which one is the cheapeast combo that works? i think this is a better solution for me since i hate any trackpad on a dock or keyboard. the dell combo is not being sold anymore and logitech is just too expensive.

I didn't try the back button on mine. I will try when I'm at home. However, the right-click button acts as an android back button (same with the right click on the keyboard dock).
I have used the Logitech MX5500 keyboard and mouse combo, also used the microsoft 5000 bt mouse.
Made a little video here
i got the MS bt 5000 mouse... i can connect/pair it initially, but i have problems reconnecting... i have to unpair and restart the tab for it to connect again... can't be doing that every time, so i gave up and am now using an usb mouse :[

+1 on the Logitech V470.
-1 for Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 (not BT)
Connected to KB dock, but no power was going to the mouse, perhaps i need to turn on the asus with it connected?
A Belkin mouse I got from UK staples works fine.

[Q] Wired USB controller for Emulators

Curious if anyone knows about hooking up a wired, usb controller to the TF while docked. I already own the wired gaming controllers that I use on my laptop for SNES roms, but wanted to use it on the transformer while I'm out.
android 3.1 supports the xbox and ps3 wire controllers...and i'm guessing other standard (meaning they work without custom drivers) gamepads.
i test an old PC gamepad i had, and it only partially worked. (some buttons aren't recognized, or recognized weirdly)
eitherway, it's trial and error.
but officially, Android 3.1 supports, at the very least, the xbox and ps3 controllers.
I can confirm ps3 controller works

Will give it a try
Sweet, well i have an older gamepad that once I get the TF I will give it a shot, worst comes to worst will just pick up an xbox controller and call it good
The Xbox 360 USB controller does not work with this tablet.
Are you using an actual USB 360 controller or a 360 controller with the charge and play cable? The charge and play cable does not transmit data, it only charges, so you would have to have the 360 controller synced through blue tooth to make it work that way.
I got one of these docks today so I can confirm that the following controllers work with the dock:
PS3 dual shock
Logitech Cordless Precision PS3 controller (Wireless!)
Mayflash Classic Controller USB adapter (this one surprised me)
HOWEVER!
I was unable to get any of the emulators to register the right analog stick, which for most emulators is not a big deal, but still not as good I think as just using a wii remote with a classic controller which seems to work for all the buttons and sticks and things.
Also, I was unable to get 2 usb gamepads to be recognized independently (i.e. as player 1 and player 2) so for me this is not good either. I am now selling the dock on ebay because the only plus for me was being able to have 2 wireless USB gamepads that are not tethered to something else (wii remote) and be able to play 2 player games. Otherwise this dock just makes my transformer less portable. I'm sure for some people it's great though, I'm not knocking it, it just wasn't suited for what I wanted.
Anyone try it with a Logitech gamepad (usb)?

Yes, I'm using an actual USB Xbox 360 controller not the wireless controller with the charge and play cable. This is an issue that if you search the forums you'll find others who have the same problem. I had emailed Asus more than a month ago about the issue and they finally responded and said:
Dear Valued Customer,
For the problem, currently TF101's dock does not support xbox 360 controller.
Sorry for any inconvenience. Wish you have a nice day.

And when I asked if it will be supported in the future:
Dear Valued Customer,
Currently TF101 does not support it, but I will pass your test result as a VOC(vovice of customer) to the related dept.

The wireless gamepad I tried was Logitech, so I would imagine that this would work as well. I have a couple of older model Logitech gamepads I can test later on if I get around to it.
I really am disappointed though in the fact that android 3.1 does not seem to distinguish between 2 different gamepads plugged in at the same time. I tried setting up a 2 player game of Contra by mapping buttons for player 1 and player 2 on each respective pad, but both gamepads controlled both characters at the same time. So it's fine for single player, but any kind of multiplayer is no go.
I take it back. It is something they are looking to resolve:
The next firmware update will support xbox 360 controller and the firmware will be released soon.

Thanks so much for the info! But would you be so kind as to check with the older model Logitech gamepads (with usb)? I'm looking to buy the one that I linked you earlier and this would definitely be a deal breaker if it didn't work.

[Q] HD dock and mouse/keyboard

Got a quick question for those of you with the HD dock. Are you running dual USB devices for you mouse and keyboard, do wireless usb devices work for the dock sans drivers, or has anyone found a way to pair dual devices to have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard functional?
My dilemma is where I am planning on putting my dock, it's going to be really difficult to use wired devices because the dock is going to be located physically behind me. I need to find a way to go as wireless as possible so but at the store we were only able to pair up one bluetooth device at a time. Has anyone found a work around for that?

I've tried a couple of wireless keyboard/mouse combos plugged into the dock and neither worked. I'm currently using a powered usb hub plugged into the dock with a Logitec keyboard and mouse plugged into the hub. Works great.

Damn... That's what I was afraid of. My issue is I'm placing the dock on my nightstand located next to my bed for charging purposes. What's throwing me off is in one of the videos demoing the dock it shows them using both a wireless keyboard and mouse. It's gotta be possible, but I have no clue how. At the store we couldn't pair up two seperate bluetooth devices at the same time.
May have found a solution to my problem. At a local Compusa I found a bluetooth keyboard and trackpad in one. I'll take it to work and test it out... If it works, I'll report back.
My Logitech Wireless Desktop (USB Unifying receiver) worked fine, out of the box - keyboard and mouse.
There shouldnt be any reason that your generic wireless device/receiver combos dont work since they're simply a transmitter/receiver pair, your problem is likely with the lack of adequate power supplied by the dock. Theres no way that power supply puts out enough to power the phone as well as the USB ports so thats probably why the powered USB hub mentioned above solves everything.

[Q] Is the Transformer Dock a BlueTooth device?

I have not seen it brought up and searching didnt helpand my prime and dock are still in Amazon pre-order but I was wondering if the Keyboard Dock could interface with the tablet using bluetooth? The tablet can be paired with bluetooth devices but does the dock have bluetooth?
There are times I would like to connect the tablet through HDMI to a large screen monitor or TV and use it with a keyboard. I could snake a long cable between the screen and the docked tablet but using bluetooth to connect the dock is more desirable. Is bluetooth built into the dock? Can a bluetooth transmitter be put into the USB port and paired with the dock?
wish Asus would put bluetooth in the dock if it is not already there.
No, it is not a bluetooth device. It is just a keyboard with extra battery support.
BTW, the keyboard design is beautiful and Ijust bought one

I thinks that one is impossible, the keyboard is not designed (technically) to be operated on it's own. The USB port is just pass-through.

One reason for posting was so Asus may see it and consider it in the future... Would be nice to have tablet near the Large Screen plug in and use the keyboard from across the room.
just get a bluetooth keyboard and pair it with the tablet.
figured the keyboard had it's own processor and might be nice if it were capable of being BT enabled. buying a second keyboard for a "laptop" is not something I want to do.

USB (wired) mouse.

Hi guys, I'm probably getting this tablet soon, so I'd really love to know if someone has managed to get a common wired USB mouse to work with it, and if so how it actually performs (responsiveness, lag etc). I have a Logitech G5 gaming mouse, and I think it would be pretty neat to be able to use it at its fullest with this device, for browsing and whatnot, and maybe also for gaming, like for playing FPS games like Modern Combat 3, together with the keyboard dock. I'm not sure about this becase it has pretty high dpi, but if it actually worked at say at least 1500 dpi it would be really awesome. Any experience with this kind of usage? Please let me know
Well, a wireless mouse with a USB dongle works fine with it, so I assume a wired mouse would work as well.

Hi,
Could you tell me which wireless mouse with USB dongle works with this tablet? I have an old micro innovations wireless keyboard and mouse. This doesn't work when I plugin using the Asus USB dongle. It works fine with the PC.
Thanks
My Anywhere Mouse MX works fine with it, but what do you mean by "Asus USB dongle"? Your mouse will only work with its own dongle plugged into the USB socket on the tablet's dock.
Just plugged in my Logitech VX Nano mouse last night into my keyboard dock. Worked like a charm. LogMeIn even recognized the right-click as a right-click instead of Back or Menu.
i've got some lg crapper- works great.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I don't have the dock. I am plugging in my wireless mouse/keyboard dongle into the tablet directly using ASUS USB converter not the dock. If I plugin a wired mouse into the USB adapter it works. But not the wireless one. I was wondering if any wireless one work because the tablet would need the driver like in windows PC.
Hey guys can someone confirm if this will work in FPS games like modern combat?
- TF300T Dock + usb mouse
or
- wireless keyboard and mouse
If this is working how do you map keys?
Thanks!
I've got Logitech G500 and I want to say this: it rocks baby !!!
could anyone play mc3 or mc4 with dock and mouse !?
