Stuck on Android 8! NEED HELP in selecting firmware to flash. - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Recently bought a used samsung galaxy s9 plus. It is stuck on android 8. When I try to update it it says that I'm already on the latest software.
When I tried to search for firmware to flash manually I got confused because CSC is XAA which refers to unlocked version but currently installed firmware is of some carrier I guess...
Can anyone please suggest me the correct firmware which I need to flash in order to get Android 9 with one UI.
See attached screenshot for exact number firmware installed.

Flash a higher binary firmware using Odin. Make sure you use full 4 file firmware. Also remember to backup your files

How to install other region firmware on Galaxy Tab E SM-T560 - US 7.1.1 on EU 4.4.4

Hi,
I have a Norwegian Tab E 9.6 (SM-T560) with Kitkat 4.4.4.
The US/Canadian version SM-T560NU has got official upgrade to Nougat 7.1.1.
I have downloaded the XAC Canada version and I am trying to install it using Odin, without success.
I load the firmware file using the PDA file tab, but the installation will not go through. Connection ok, but odin stops either and NAND Write or earlier.
From what I understand it should be perfectly possible to install an official stock firmware from another region (I did so once on my asian Samsung S7 Edge), but not working here.
What could be the reason for this not working? Do I need to change CSC or something? If so how without rooting and without using the dialer code trick (as there is no dialer on a WIFI only unit).
Or some special settings in Odin? I only have the default settings marked.
I have tried many versions of Odin, from the latest to the earliest.
Please help or point me in the right direction.

[solved] Sw rev check failed any device

The only problem is that you're not flashing the latest firmware, do you? yeah maybe you do but not the latest one what i mean then? let me tell you.. even if your previous firmware was example/ android 7.0 and installing 7.0 will fail why? answer: you need to go to sammobile [for example if your device is Samsung becasue sammobile is the best for samsung firmwares just make sure to download the firmware from there if your device is samsung } and check the date of firmware like the latest firmware location doesnt matter just downoad the latest one, you know what i mean right? for example you need android 7.0 you dont just have to download any 7.0 firmware, thats wrong you have to check the date of firmware and download the latest 7.0 firmware, thats it and i hope you fix your device asap cuz i know the feeling thanks for reading this and good luck !

Flashed stock firmware - Google Pay not working

Hi Everyone,
Apologies in advance, i'm a noob at all this but please read my post. I just need some help
Recently i've attempted to install a custom ROM on my Galaxy S8 ( SM-G950F ) and in the 1st attempt, managed to somehow get the phone into a boot loop. I went on to flash the original firmware via ODIN, which was successful and the phone was back to original, but now i have an issue when trying to use Google Pay, or Netflix. It keeps saying the phone has been modified and not allowing me. Is there a way around this at all? I don't understand why it's now not working since it's back to stock firmware. If anyone can help me out that would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to provide some $$ if needed.
Thanks all in advance.

What do you mean 7 or 8 number from imei? The latest software is used mate that is correct.
7 and 8 number from imei is know as Country code , so look for Firmware for Country code you can also look for 4 file firmware for your device which you can search on the internet or try with DBT version is Germany but mostly German firmware can fix some issue . Good Luck
Hello, I have the same issue. I Just flash latest ROM for my Samsung Galaxy s9 plus from sammobile website. It was DBT version (UK, Germany region) with patched Odin. Can you help me how to get google pay working? It keeps saying the same that device has been rooted or modified.

I got that overnight also. Since it was fairly small I'm guessing security update only.

You can use websites like updato, sammobil or samfrew to download firmware for your phone.
Or you can used a PC app called frija to download latest firmware.

G'day thanks for your reply--
ok-Ihave been researching your suggestions-- and the answer is not easy--it is actually complicated because of all the different firmware codes just in the US.,
I can hopefully track it down using my new phone CSC code(I'm learning fast for a newbie)
The reason why I need at least Android 10 is because I will be loading the 'Gcam7.4 and maybe higher.
If I can find out which US version of firmware to flash(and how to do it properly), I still need answers to the following--
---Because this is a US version S10 SM-G973U1 -fully unlocked and no Carrier--
(1) Do I insert my Australian SIM card into my brand new phone BEFORE it is turned on for the first time and BEFORE I flash the new US firmware?
(2) Or do I turn on my new phone for the first time, and flash the update US firmware BEFORE inserting my Australian SIM?
-regards-

1. I don't have a snapdragon version phone.
2. I am not sure whether the US models work in Australia. Best bet is to try putting in a sim card in and see if it works ie: phone, messages etc.
3. Have a read of this, it will give you a brief understanding of firmware names and CSC codes.
Can you post a screen shot of : settings - about phone - software information

4. Download PC app Frija. It will give latest firmware. Download - unszip it - run frija.exe ( downloads speed will be faster than websites )

OK--thanks again.
Thanks for the model number.
The US phone will work in AU -A lot are sold over here through ebay and other outlets- there should be no problems here.
The seller sent me a message to my questions-''it does not matter when the update is done--before or after the SIM card has been put in'', so,should be no problems here - and you also say it's ok to leave the SIM card in while flashing.
I can't give you a screenshot as I am still waiting for the phone to arrive.
I've been reading the Frija page-looks easy enough for me to do.
Frija will give me the correct and latest firmware(on PC) and then I use Odin to install the firmware into the phone, correct?

Updating phone can be done with or without sim card.
Just make sure with frija to enter correct model number.
Download firmware, extract firmware ( I use 7zip ) put In Odin.
May still need that screen shot when you get the phone as may have to use patched Odin.

thanks again for the speedy replies.
I found the following youtube that explains easily how to use Frija and Odin to update the firmware.-
I used the model number you gave me and downloaded the firmware update.
I will double check when I get the phone, incase the number is different.
I have read about the ''patched Odin'', the youtube uses the patched version.
You have bee n very helpful, and this youtube shows how it is done.
I'll get back to you when I get the phone.

Link to patch Odin and original odin
You can use the latest version.
Patched Odin 3.13.1

Sorry for the l-o-n-g delay in getting back to you.
I did receive my S10 -red color, as soon as I opened the shipping box,I knew I had been sent a FAKE.
I didn't have to open the retail package as I knew what to look for(thanks to youtubes about fake Samsungs).
The front and back of the retail box were identical to the fake one in the video.
But the seller also made a big mistake--they sent the wrong model(thanks to someone putting the wrong label on the shipping box at their warehouse) - they sent S10e instead of S10.
Anyway,it was easy getting my money back due to their ebay store return policy.
They know I know it's a fake and they are worried about the feedback I have yet to leave for them.
At this point, I am considering a refurbished S10 ''as new'' from a REPUTABLE online AU seller.
Or a new S20 FE Snapdragon, Australian version (plenty of retail stores have it over here).
What ever I get--I'll make sure it isn't a fake and at least, you've helped me to learn a few things, like going to Samobile to check the right numbers, and,if necessary, use Frija and Odin to update the firmware..
Have a look at these photos, tell me what you think.
I don't use an 10 series maybe never will
All I can suggest, since i'm using my device different to yours.
Check IMEI status ( check online ).
For on lines stores or furbished devices IMEI devices this can be changed. Not generally on US devices
Only a word of caution.

Samsung Galaxy S21 EVR firmware.

Hi. I have a Galaxy s21 from EE with EVR firmware (EE firmware) and I’ve tried flashing BTU and other UK networks firmware on it using Odin but that doesn’t work. Every time Odin says it’s passed, it hasn’t changed the firmware at all and I’m still stuck on EVR. I’ve tried SamKEY but it’s saying it doesn’t support my firmware (G991BXXU3AUGM) so I’m not sure what to do.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have a US S21 but am also in the same boat, and sadly I think the only way at current is to wait for SamKey or to downgrade to a firmware that'll support SamKey.
I've tried ODIN flashing my US TMB S21 to try and get it working on AT&T fully many times over, but the CSC is locked up tight and SamKey was the only way to get it done for me. (Sadly, my CSC reverted when I stuck another TMB SIM into the phone and it locked the CSCs again so I have to pay for SamKey a second time if I want my AT&T SIM to work fully again. Yaaaaay.)
Samsung really needs to hurry it up with the auto-config firmware for the S21s.
I haven’t got a clue on how to downgrade it, any idea how?

(Sorry for the delay, yesterday got busy.)
For downgrading you'd just need ODIN and the desired firmware to downgrade to, just making sure the binary version matches (in this case, the binary version is the first number of the last 5 characters of the software version. So in the case of G991BXXU3AUGM, you'd be looking at "3AUGM" and in that case, your binary version is 3. So you can flash any firmware that's 3XXXX). At least that's how it is on Snapdragon models.
If you've no idea how to work ODIN it might be worth it to just wait. Plus, downgrading would incur a factory wipe (and restore with Smart Switch, which doesn't necessarily restore all settings and such.)

HK is very likely Exynos, so no. You can generally flash software from other variants so long as the CPU matches (most of NA uses Snapdragon, for example. You can't flash Exynos firmware onto a Snapdragon S21.)
