True that.
Kinda dissappointed they are launching with 730G, it won't make sense for poco users to upgrade (or rather downgrade ). Anyway it was also announced in grapevine, 3 poco phones might be launched. Hopefully one of them is true successor.

I hope so to

Poco / OnePlus users know wht exactly they r getting. For such phones it is always about develpment support otherwise there would not be any sense making such a phone. SD730g is a gud SOC if they mix it with Samoled+90/120 hz, no/waterdrop notch minus poco F1's screen panel bugs and the strong point of Poco - Pricing. (i dnt think OIS wud make its way)
It would make a pretty compelling case for itself.

Snapdragon 730G is using in Redmi Note 8 pro right? then why poco is using this same processor instead or SD 855 or 855+?

RN8 pro uses Mediatek not Snapdragon

A Redmi note 4 HelioX20 MIUI 8 Andriod 6 or a Redmi Note 3 Pro 3GB RAM W/ Snapdragon?

Should I purchase a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with Helio X20 MIUI 8 with Android 6 or a Redmi Note 3 pro with Snapdragon? Even if Xiaomi releases a Note 4 with Snapdragon is there much of a difference in the 4 to wait, by chance? Seeking opinions, if I am in the wrong forum please guide me, thanks.
Always choose for Snapdragon. By my own experience.
Only take a look to the Snapdragon v/s Mediatek version dev sub-forum....
the x20 is faster, but not by much. the sd650 is proven very battery efficient
i would go for the sd too
Redmi Note 3 Pro by a long way. Unless you are happy using MIUI then RN4 may be ok. I cannot stand MIUI. Personally if you could wait then wait for the Redmi 4. Its supposed to be 5" 1080p Snapdragon 625. I am waiting for it as the RN3 Pro is too big for my hands.

Yup looks like it. Time to play the waiting game for hopefully an early Christmas present :good:
Xiaomi should compete against the Samsung A9 Pro for the next Redmi Note. That has a 6" screen, dual SIM and separate MicroSD slots (no hybrid slot nonsense), 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage.
A larger Redmi Note would be welcome, for me anyway, because a Mi Max is simply too big. I wouldn't get a Mediatek-based phone ever again after being stuck with KitKat on a Note 3G. Qualcomm are a lot more respectful of GPL issues. Anyway, I think the Helio X20 has too many small cores - these work well in benchmarks but they do nothing for real world usage.

If only Mediatek went open-source, there's a guide for the Interactive governor that will fully utilise all those cores. It'll be interesting to see how they can be tweaked to increase an already large battery life.

This is a developer forum, not a marketplace. You can poach customers somewhere else.
Helio X20 have a little better performance in CPU and Adreno 510 burns Mali-T880 MP4 in Helio X20 and even X25.
Helio X20 CPU is 4+4+2. More like Snapdragon 615 with 2 high performance core from 650. But since XDA having far better support for Snapdragon.
If you want a better performance, go for Note 3 Snapdragon.
I'm predicting Note 4 Snapdragon will use Snapdragon 652/653 with 2/3GB Variant and a special edition with 4GB RAM will wreck any mid-range smartphone.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Pro [Snapdragon 652]

Please make this thread big, to show Xiaomi, what we think about MediaTek.
Will you buy the Redmi Note 4 or will you wait for a Snapdragon version of the Note 4?
The last information, from a insider, is "no Snapdragon Version for Note 4 but maybe for the Redmi Pro".
1. No, will buy the MediaTek version
2. Wait for Snapdragon version (will not buy MediaTek version)
3. Redmi Pro with Snapdragon? So I will buy this one!
Please choose...
I will not buy MediaTek device. The reason is the GPU, which is really poor on MediaTek, like on Kirin (Huawei) and Quick Charge 3.0 is one of the best things today.
I'll get the RN 4 Pro with Snapdragon. More RAM and space is always welcome

Also bought the Mtk 3/64, and honestly...haven't got any issues with it. For this kind of money, the phone is fast, responsive, battery life could be better and the auto light adjustment could be improved. Other than that and the fact that i have the Chinese ROM (grrr...) this device is pretty much a straight you pay - you get.
If you don't care about hardware power, yoi can go with the MediaTek version but the Snapdragon version will get much better GPU, battery life and sensors.
The Note 3 Pro sell in India over 2,3 million times.
Edit with poll please, can you?
And anyway, I heard from some article. Redmi Note 4 Pro will use Snapdragon 653 instead of 652.
And I hope this rumor is true though.

The Redmi Note 4 MTK edition is also International, it does have MIUI GLobal
Have a look at the phone: Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 MIUI Global and the latest available global rom: Global Stable Rom for Redmi Note 4
To be international it needs to have these bands.
4G FDD LTE B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28/ ( 2100/1900/ 1800/ 1700/ 850/ 2600/ 900/ 800/ 700MHz); TD-LTE B40 (2300MHZ)

oneplus 2 has no sd card option and costs 2 times more then redmi note 3 pro... so get a redmi note 3 pro.

It depends on what you're looking for.
If for good camera, then probably one+2,if for good battery life then redmi.
There are many other thing s you have to consider, like type of display, system, sdcard slot etc. So it's really up to your personal preference.

nope not for me because i have a 128 gb sd card so the op2 died for me directly as choice. XD
but if you care about gaming etc, get a op2.
i use my phone for internet and media stuff, so i dont need a good gpu. i am actually realy surprised abeit my redmi note 3 pro. if you want a good costum rom support, get one with the snapdragon (qualcom) processor.
unlock bootloader with official tool like op... worked all like charm, i am happy camera is also fine. i mean... i dont expect an dlsr but camera is pretty fine for a phone.
if your phone goes broken, you have the same ****ty china support by both sides.
additional, miui is kind of nice and you get one dev update per week.
by op you can wait much longer.
but i use aicp rom, so also no matter for me.
so all together: you get a good device if you want updates and sd cards.
if you prefer more a better camera and more performance, get a op2.
but honestly... i dont pay much attention on performance but i am a power user and my xiaomi is working like charm in pro edition with 3gb ram.
the OP2 has less performance !

How? The 810 soc is very powerful and though it had it's share of overheating, looks like guys on the OP2 forums fixed that with a ton of kernel tweaks. i'm seeing antutu scores of between 90 - 103 on their cm14 rom's and let's not even get started on the GPU...Point is the 810 is very still a flagship soc. Snapdragon 821>820>810>>652>650...
Oh no I don't think, In benchmark s810 better than 650 yes, but in reality.... the a72 are fastest same if they are only 2 than the "old gen" cores of S810...
The GPU isn't stable a long time, when the GPU of 650 is perfectly stable ... looks manhattan longterm performance (30minutes) same if in theory 510 = 418 or 420 in practical it's a stable GPU so really better than us and same than 810, maybe one 810 could be better it's the nexus 6p... but OP2 really not ...

I created this thread only for getting support of TWRP and custom ROMs. I wrote this matter very clearly. It is possible because Xiaomi created last same ROM for both devices with some minor modifications.
The main difference between both devices is that in 4x you cant flash ROM with locked bootloader.

Yes I know. I was one of the first people to buy the Redmi Note 4 when it came out last August. But by comparing my specs with your spec sheet , the only difference is that yours say Redmi Note 4x.

It's the same phone. It simply has different names in different countries. Just make sure it's the Snapdragon version.
Depending on where you live, you may want to buy the Global version of the phone which supports more LTE bands (like band 20 in Europe).
But to be honest with you, I wouldn't buy the Note 4X anymore.
The Note 5/Note 5 Pro is already out.
The MI A1 ist basically a Note 4X with pure Android instead of MIUI and dual camera.
The Redmi 5/Redmi 5 Plus is basically a Note 4X with a 18:9 display instead of 16:9.
The new Mi 6X came out recently with a better CPU, dual cameras and MIUI.
The MI A2 (the same phone as Mi 6X but with pure Android instead of MIUI) will be announced soon.
So all roms and kernels of snapdragon will be compatible to both 4 and 4x as long its snapdragon? Thank you for the suggestions. I'll look for redmi note 5 pro

Correct.
So, is it good to buy 4x cause it's more updated than 4?

You need to buy the phone with Snapdragon 625. Depending where you life, it's called either Redmi Note 4X or Redmi Note 4 Global Edition.
Just make sure that you buy the phone with Snapdragon and not MTK (MediaTek) processor

That is good to know, However there is one thing I would like too add:
Xiaomi is very bad in the development scene, they do not provide kernel source and devices trees for developers to build custom roms or kernels, and currently the Redmi Note 4 has both, while new devices probably don't.
If you care about custom roms/kernels ( and everyone here at XDA probably do) check the device respective development threads before purchasing the device to see if there is any activity.
Since basically in my opinion MIUI is a version mess.
Check for the processor. Don't buy the Note with mediatek chipset.
