4k video bitrate

Hi,
I was playing with 4k video recording using open camera, Note 5 global non rooted version with original ROM.
I see that video bitrate is a bit low and sometimes I see compression artifacts.. it's around 41Mb/s for video.
Is there any way to use HEVC or use higher bitrate to record 4k.
Comment: for example my old OneplusOne is recording in more then 60Mbit/S in 4k mode
Xiaomi 4k+ more then 100Mb/s
Wondering if someone was trying to hack it... I set bitrate in open camera but nothing is changing it.. still the same default stock value in final file.
Interesting thread.
Sorry if I don't have an answer but a question: does EIS (image stabilisation) work correctly when enabled in open camera or are the videos still shaky?

This is great news. Thanks.
Just to make sur : This is on the 5 plus = Indian note 5. (Not the Indian note 5 pro = normal note 5 which is dual camera and officially does have eis).
(because another thread says you need to root and install camera api2 for it to work).

I had italian version (assuming global ROM) from Amazon.it
4GB/64GB version black
from what I checked in few apps just open camera had EIS option in 4K and it indeed works, I was comparing videos with and without EIS enabled
just wondering about bitrate, had no chance to test with fv5 and setting higher bitrate cause i sold the phone, waiting for new unit so will test it again...
ideally would be to have EIS+4k and more than 60Mbit bitrate
Thanks for the feedback. Hope someone will answer you regarding bitrate.
I see in the open camera settings (video section) you can manually set the bitrate up to 100 mbps.
Have you looked at this?

60 fps video ??????

hello everyone!!
So i record a lot of videos using the Open Camera app and it is great but the only problem is that it can record a maximum of 30 fps .
I want to get 60 fps videos out of Open Camera app.
Now when i use Gcam to record videos then it allows me to shoot in 60 fps.
So this means that our RN3 is capable of recording 60fps .
It would be great if anyone can help me with this .
Is there any way to get 60 fps in other camera apps???? What should be done to achieve this???
What decides the fps a phone can shoot at??? Can it be tweaked through software????
and yes i have tried it in a lot of rom its same in all of them.
Right now i am using aex noughat rom with stock kernel.
not sure but might be related to camera2 api.
Having used the gcam app for almost two years on RN3, to this day, I'm still wondering why xiaomi hasn't implemented a 60 fps video recording option in the official miui stock camera app...
I have seen several thread here on xda but still i didnt get any satisfactory answers.
And yeah camera2api is enabled and working in open camera as i has all manual control that camera2api provides!!

Slow-motion 240fps does not work

I'm recently update miui 10.2 stable and every thing going perfectly but i realise slow-motion in 240fps does not work. Anyone who face same problem with that ? It's quit disappointing for me cz 960fps record only 10 sec vdo.

you must play slow motion video in miui gallery app, if you play video on google photos or other gallery app don't play correctly
240 fps is working for me but when i move video to pc its not same, its more slower on phone . But 960 fps its same like on phone and pc .

Yes the video plays at normal speed (exept for 960fps) but actually it really has more frames so you can slow it down as much as on the phone using a video editing software. 960fps already has been slowed down by the phone this is why it plays at the same speed but it's also limited to 10sec.
fix for slow motion videos on pocof1
After recording slow motion video in pocof1, it is not playing in slow motion in any other media app except miui's default gallery app.
To make it happen you need to play it first with the default gallery app and there comes an option to save video on the top right of the screen...
so after clicking that save button, video gets saved and is playable in slow motion in other apps too.

Pocophone Videography

I ve been using Pocophone for my video channel...
and i also hear alot of people recommend GCam for Photography and its been amazing.
and some people recommend Open Camera for videography...
and I am also excited that Open Camera Support Log Profile so I can Color Grade Better With My PC ( I am using Davinci Resolve 16)
But I am stuck in Filming with Open Camera with only 24 or 30 fps..
Because as soon as I change the fps to 60..
the app freeze and theres a toast "serious camera error"
I really need 60 fps for filming nice B Roll..
anyone has the same problem?
any suggestions on better app for videography with Pocophone?

The only Gcam that I can record with perfectly is the latest BSG
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/MGC_7.3.020_RPII_v0f.apk
so version 7 is actually better than 6.2 in video recording?
thanks i will try it

Overheat and mount system problems

I have a big problem on my pocophone, when i recording in 4k 60fps my câmera app closes beacause my phone is overheating, i cant record more than 1 minute, i can disable this? Or convert the camera app to a user app? Only system apps have this problem, i tried to convert to a user app but i have a problem with mount system, i tried to download titanium backup but the app not works more, anyone can help me? (Sorry for my bad english, i'm from brazil)
Can't you use Open Camera, or lower the resolution of your integrated camera app?
I don't have a Pocophone, so not sure how to navigate the settings.

What is open camera? Yes i can lower the resolution but if a need to record in 4k 60 fps the app closes itself, i want to disable this overheating protection or change the app to user app, in games my phone is much more heat but it's safe

At it's runtime it doesn't matter whether an app is a system app or an user app: both use the hardware resources ( RAM, CPU, GPU ) as needed in same way to successfully run.
Only difference between a system app and an user app is that a system app can get rolled back to it's initial version in case it got updated: that's not possible with an user app.
Ii's absolutely common that when you use your phone’s camera for longer time that your phone is heated up. This generally happens when you shoot high quality for recording videos as this increases temperature. Therefore, you should reduce the footage quality and try to record short videos to reduce the temperature that increases while using.
