A public congratulation to myself: S6 bought yesterday; screen shattered today - Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Questions & Answers

I guess what I'm trying to say to myself is, "Way to fcuking go, dude! You saw right through history and knew that this little S6 honey was gonna get the shock treatment sooner or later, so why wait, right?"
And bonus points to me for having managed to do so in a year-end review winning style, no doubt in the ever popular, "Whaaa? Is that dude fcuking retarded?" category. Pros: duuuuude, you instantly made retarded look like "advanced clever."
Cons: you did so in a comically regressive mannner. While collecting local geo-data and sensing near-surface disturbances just below your public viewing area, you somehow were able to determine, unlike anyone post=hoc could, that ejecting the shiny new Samsung S6 past the mat and onto the nearby cement floor would be best for it, especially if done so screen down, as though continuing to rest upon your lap during a period of increased disturbances would be a big mistake though it had done so until then quite comfortably, much like a convenience store burrito an hour earlier was a big mistake that had rested in place quite comfortably until then.
Or as I believe I heard you prase yourself in a summary of events just after The Great Ejection, "Whaaa? Dude! Arrrrrrghhhhh! Are you fcuking retarded???"

Did you purchase with a credit card offering extended or no-fault warranty? If so, you might be in luck.
Can you retroactively purchase a service plan, and then make a claim say a week from now? If so, then you should be in good shape.
You have options -- investigate. I've availed myself of both these examples in the past.

Another thread about cases

I really need a case that is at least somewhat shock absorbant and a bit moisture resistant since I got a severly grabby fingered 11 month year old son that likes to pull on (sync) cables, drop everything gadgety and generally drool och cellphones in particular.
http://www.gadgetino.com/product.php?productid=17649
This one looked like it could be of interrest, but I sure would like to hear from you others if there is some warnings or things to worry about a) the company b) the product
Thanks in advance!
Seriously, not a single one of you on this forum has bought something from gadgetinto? Or are you just unwilling to share the experience due to post traumatic stress because of a horrible shopping disaster? Will I be forced to boldly shop where no hermes owner has shoped before?
would appear so
i like the crystal cases or the alu ones the silicone are annoying
Mike...LOL
Here's the original hermes case thread for some info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=273546

Yeah that was a big barrel-o-chuckles.
@galaxys: If you read my first post again, you may magically realize that I wasn't asking about cases, but in fact about vendor gadgetino.
ooops...OK
your title thru me a curve while I was laughing at mike's pic. Maybe U should magically change the title to "vendor gadgetino"

Decent for the money (headphones)

So, I am the destroyer of headphones. I am to headphones what might blind grandfather was to the road--a treacherous hazard. I've destroyed nearly every set of phones I've owned. About two years ago I decided to stop dropping good money and just go cheap. Anyway, last night, busted my last cheap set. Today, walked in to Fry's Electronics and purchased an LG Hbs 700 bluetooth set, 55 bucks out the door. Having went for the cheapest they had, I figured the sound would be **** and the distance would suck--to my surprise, they are actually pretty decent. Now, they obviously aren't for the finicky audiophile, but if you're like me, a death sentence to most things electronic, you might appreciate the exceptional price to quality ratio.
Note, they are ugly and a bit odd to get used too around the neck--but hey, cheap and functional trump odd and ugly.
As well, if you order them online they go for about 10 bucks cheaper--might be mitigated if you don't get free shipping.

Suggestion
I reccomend skull candy headphones, especially their titans. They are all metal and a have pretty good sound quality also they are quite cheap and plenty stylish. Enjoy those ones, but keep the titans in mind for next time!

[Q] a sigh of disbelief

i just got this phone used in immaculate condition just a few days ago.
i was browsing through its internet and i was mesmerized by how beautiful the screen was.
i didn't realize that time has passed by so fast that i am already late at school.
realizing i have to get in class on time. i am in a hurry--put the phone in my pocket and hop in my car.
i heard a crashing--shattering noise.
i realize something has gone missing, and something went horribly wrong.
i looked at the floor with a horror on my face. as the reality kicks in--with a sigh of disbelief, the phone meets the floor... :crying:

Whoops, that sucks. Try this thread.

Ouch. This is why spending the extra $4 on a case from ebay is recommended. After dropping so many phones, I don't take the chance anymore. Also if you decide to sell it, it will look as good as the day you bought it. It sends chills down my spine thinking of putting a naked phone in my pocket.
Yeah, I always have a case on. I used to use tpu cases, I've come to like my otterbox commuter case. Sorry to the OP for sure though.
Case is good idea, along with insurance from carrier ..

I have never used a case in my life. I have a little dent on the bottom rear cover. I have dropped it dozens of times, it just never fell face down onto a point. I must have a horseshoe up my a** I dunno, lol. The build quality seems the same as the original EVO, atleast from my mishaps.

[Q] Screen Broken - Advice

Good Day All,
I am in a bit of a predicament. On Saturday, I had my phone in hand and heard a *crack* (I can only suppose my subconscious telekinetic powers were left on), looked down and noticed that there was a somewhat small crack about 1.5 inches up from the back capacitive button all the way across to the home cap button. Basically making any key presses in that lower region of my screen and cap buttons unusable.
I just watched the YouTube tear down video and I'm curious as to if I purchase the Touch Digitizer Screen Assembly(See pics below) will this cover everything that I need for the replacement?

I found a US supplier on eBay with it for $170.99 with a decent ship time (4 business days).
--I have noticed that Most of the non-ebay suppliers are out of stock on the digitizer all together.
Any suggestions/advice is much appreciated.
can't u just take it to a fixer it's the safest way if ur nervous

Because the local "fixers" are gonna want to charge a markup on the actual screen/assembly while still adding on for repairing the damage. Versus actually buying the part myself and giving it to them to fix(Which is also a probably option).
Have you contacted LG. I heard they do the repairs too. It's obviously much safer and I think cheaper.

Antutu Officer: Phone Authenticity Verifier
Today started off as a pretty exciting day. I received a package from UPS that I have been anticipating for a week now. I ordered a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and it finally arrived. As I opened the package with my trusty sword, I instantly noticed something was wrong. It was packaged in a box that did not resemble something created by Samsung. I examined the phone and a few things did seem right. The pullout antenna was a little flimsy and there was I slide out keyboard that seemed out of place. I began to question if this was a really Galaxy phone or not so I looked up methods of verifying if a phone is legit. That's when I found Antutu Officeron the Play store.
I installed the app on my phone and followed the instructions. It was very easy to use and only took seconds for it to tell me that my phone was not legit. This destroyed me. I spent all of my savings on this and could no longer afford to pay rent. Because of this my girlfriend left my for a Swedish man named Vincent.
Check this app out if you're ever unsure about the authenticity of an Android device.
Download Antutu Officer
Nice Story xD

Sorry, but I don't trust this app after it "politely" asked to me to update itself by downloading and installing through a third party apk. Avoid at all costs, rather test the individual components with reliable and verified legit apps like CPUID, etc.
I do get the sarcasm though in OP's post since the "Antutu Officer" is really an anomaly at this point for me as well.
