Bootleggers ROM is an aftermarket firmware based on AOSP with some patches and fixes from LineageOS and various other projects. The idea is to bring custom features and some of the most useful apps on your device, with the goal of Making you feel like 家.
With an almost stable source, this ROM is also packed with some custom wallpapers (available on ShishuWalls), ringtones, fonts, and themes to bring to your device into a more fresh look and give you always a good experience.
Also, we got our Telegram Group to talk about the ROM, share some love, ideas, or even have fun with us!
Some of the features that are included on this ROM are:
Code:
- Launcher3 tweaks: Icon packs, at a glance, a dark mode friendly google panel
. Material toasts
- Suspend actions
- Power menu options and disable on secured lock
- QS columns and rows
- Network indicator with OOS style (thanks ArrowOS)
- Pulse on new tracks and ambient visualizer
- Lockscreen cover blur and our silly filters
- Toggle brightness slider, auto-brightness icon
- Show running services and even our custom footer text instead of the build info (you can make your own too)
- Vibrate on tapping QS tiles
- 3 Fingers to screenshot
- Headsup with all those tweaks
. Fingerprint tweaks like error vibration and all that jazz
- OmniJaws for the weather (because it's reliable even on a non-gapps scenario)
- OmniStyle with our header spicy selection, and also, a bug fix for 4K images that made the SystemUI crash and burn
- Maybe some more things
Also, you can check a full list of Features available here.
Thanks to these people, this ROM could be possible, so, I have to give a big thanks to:
Code:
* Shishu (For being there)
* Ground Zero ROMs Team
* AOSPExtended
* ABC ROMs

Hey there. I am happy to know that DTV worked without changing the kernel. Coming to ambient display, Because of not having any testers I can't test all the features all alone by myself and forgot to check that. I apologise for the inconvenience. I will fix this issue in next build. Last but not the least. I provided that kernel file because in some previous builds, DTV was supported but the kernel was unable to make the DTV work out of the box, so flashing it was the only option. As I said I can't test all the features alone, also the fact that I am in India and cannot test DTV as it for Brazil Model (XT1802) only. Thankyou. Stay Shishufied. Keep the bootleg 家.

Man, you don't have to apologise for anything !
If it wasn't for you (all developers here), our device would be dead and we would only have two choices : stay stuck in time and features of Android or
to buy a newer device (which is what every manufacturer wants, but is not an alternative for countless individuals, like myself).
Thank you (all developers here) for keeping our old phone up to date, which is a "in your face" gesture for the big companies that, by earning our money,
should be focused on that in first place !
THANK YOU (ALL DEVELOPERS HERE ) !!!!!!

My video calling is not working after rom updated

Hi! I just wanted to say I really like this ROM design. It's very original! So I decided to try it and test all I can in several hours and post it, so other people can check what is currently working(at least is working for me haha). My phone model is XT1800 and I flashed the ROM via TWRP 3.3.0-0. The gapps I used are the ARM64 Android 10 nano. Here it goes:
- WhatsApp it's working flawlessly, same with Telegram(no issues if you want to record audios, take pictures or record videos).
- Shazam is working flawlessly(in other ROMs I had issues with this app, here the software works perfectly).
- Magisk is working great, not bootloops(at least not the way I flashed xD). I'm using 20.3 version. I flashed the package via TWRP 3.3.0-0 AFTER setting up the ROM, NOT inmediately after flashing the ROM(maybe that way works too, but IDK and I already set up all the ROM so I'm not trying that). SafetyNet works like a charm, not a single issue.
- Netflix is working perfectly. Didn't had any issues.
- Phone calls and SMS are working great. Not a single issue.
- GCAM working perfectly, every single feature(https://mega.nz/#!j0oVmAoT!CRJqBvN1FphD4TwUWGImkn7YWOoZEHQlWUMTIpB6IXQ just in case you want the app). I tried other newer versions but all of them had x o y crash so i tried to find the version that has every single feature working.
- FM Radio working too.
- GMAPS is working great, the GPS locks very fast.
What I would add:
- More customization options: the bootleg dumpster is very basic. You can change the most important, but there are some details that are not there.
That's all I noticed in this few hours of use. Good job dev, keep the great work!

This ROM is really amazing. Only problem i've faced is with unfunctional Ambient Display... any prediction of when we will have a fix?
Additionally, please add full immersive gestures or some way to hide nav bar!

Hi there, I am using the latest build and sometimes the notification LED just turns on by itself and stays on. The only way to fix this is to restart the phone. Anyone having this issue?

Does it have the same GPS bug as CM13?
Wi-fi not working on Benschold/kernels based on it.
Other than that, love the rom! I'm gonna see if I can find a way to resolve the wi-fi problem.

GPS working fine here.. Not 1 issue with it. Faster GPS lock than on Oxygen (at least for me) and since it's AOSP based I would assume it is absent.

I'm gonna try to pull out the wifi stuff from it.

Notification slider settings does nothing and reset to default when I leave the menu.
Also I find no option for Sim 2 ringtone.
Sometimes at screen transitions the screen glitches.
Clean install, Pico open gapps

I can't vouch for SIM 2 as I only use 1 ... I've not seen any flickering but the alert slider, while it functions, customizing the settings do not stick for me either. Not sure what kind of log could be used for that since there's no visible errors.. the only issue I have is the text in some places seems too dark? If you switch to the dark theme you can barely see the secondary text.. like it's black on slightly lighter black...
Hello, compass won't work,, slider customization change as no effects, long press home button not launch google now, sim 2 not use lte only 2g, somes network modes isn't hide for my sim operator. data usage show only one sim.

We’re really excited to announce that we are releasing our Nougat flavour of Paranoid Android. We have a lot in store - with a mix of both features & improvements.
First & foremost, we have moved our code base to be fully CAF based. This brings many improvements to your device. The key improvement here is that Qualcomm hardware is better tuned on the CAF base and with our additional optimizations we can provide a smooth and fluid user experience that will let you enjoy using your device without any lags.
On first launch you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson who’s teamed up with us again and created several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those of you who don’t know, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work stands itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We have also added several new features and made improvements to the UI of the system that we believe would enhance the overall experience.

@ZakooZ
Is it possible to use the latest 7-11-17 kk_bl.img with this rom? It is from mosimchah from his AICP rom and includes the latest changes. I would like to give Paranoid a try but as you know I'm still locked on the old bootloader.

I highly doubt it
I just made this: PA_KK_BL_kernel.zip. Try it, flash after rom+gapps and before supersu. I haven't tested it so I can't guarantee it does work.
Okay, guys!
Short review!
I've tested the rom for a few days now and so far it is rock stable. All works fast and smooth and battery seems on par with AICP/LOS/RR.:highfive:
I'm missing a lot of features like more quick settings tiles, more customizable navbar, statusbar center clock and so on... :crying:
It's almost like stock android with another browser, calender and music app and theming options, which I've not tried yet.
I know, it's an early build but I need too much of additional apps to get the missing features back, so I'll switch back to my prefered rom for now.
Maybe when more features are added and the rom is more like PA in 2014/15 was....but it is a start!:good:
ROM Looks Tasty
I'm always up for a port that tries a new direction and this seems to do that. All my tests with new ROMS is always full format and wipe, running current stable TWRP, LP BOOTLOADER, etc. It looks like this work runs plain Super SU without Magisk, and you indicate open gapps. Could I use magisk at all? And I find the BEANS Gapps to be more reliable.
Not to pry, but where are you focusing now for these versions? Are you still going to keep up with the big changes that PA brings, or work further with Oreo developement?
Either way, I'd like to give this one a run just for fun.
Thanks as always for your work that keeps my tabs, and my wife very happy. ;DeanoD

I missed something here; I have Prime kernel on all my units. Is it essential to switch to the Lineage Kernel that you provide? Always curious about inter-compatibility with such things to keep it working well.
With that said, I need an updated to my TWRP version. In which order to flash TWRP, KERNEL, ROM, AND SUPERUSER. (Or TWRP, ROM, MAGISK- or is that asking for trouble? Thaks again. ;-DeanD
Solid ROM. Nice, Simple, Clean
I flashed this ROM last night, and so far, I'm very impressed. While it lacks some of the bells and whistles from the RR build, it has a solid feel to it. Speed and performance are great as well. Other than a slight keyboard lag, this could work well as a daily driver on my stable of three smp600 units. I started with one, found one online when my wife wanted one, and then I got another for backup (and tinkerin') . While the ROM flashed perfectly, the suggested kernel was a bust. But, the build is I think more robust than the other's I've tried. I do miss having a recents menu, and I haven't been able to find any pie controls. I'm glad that I was scouring the forums and found this gem. Great Work! ;-DeanoD
"Official Devices"?
I'm interested about the improved pie controls listed under the features of this ROM.
I could not find them. I'm guessing that my smp 600 is somehow not an "Official Device" for this ROM. Just curious. ;-DeanoD
With all apparent development at a standstill for all of there great ROMS from the crew here at XDA, I suspect that there are others like me who are having withdrawal symptoms. Dare I say that XDA further spoils us because we reap the benefits of ROM developments A LOT faster here than we would otherwise get from the OEMS. I still cringe when I see an ad for a "new" android device running VERSION 5! Then they put so much effort into the next new devices.
All I can say or offer is my sincere praise for the people here BEHIND the ROMS. But, can anyone PLEASE offer some glimmer of hope that all is not completely dead with our SMP600 just yet. And, if anyone needs testers, I am ready to run with any of the roughest draft ROMS. This one seemed to start with a great starting point and then just stopped. Any news at all? ;-DeanoD
So far I like the ROM it feels solid. I use my tablet for drawing mostly and I'm finding that palm rejection is not working. The apps that I use are Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and Adobe Photoshop sketch. Anyone else seem to be having this issue?

Yeah, I'm also having the same issue, on stock palm was rejected when the pen was recognized, that doesn't happen here unfortunately. Couldn't get my LeftureNotes app to work no matter what I chose for palm rejection. Otherwise great ROM!
@ZakooZ Did you will update the ROM to Paranoid Android 7.3.1 or to Paranoid Android OA1 ?

Here's some small answer to your questions or just answer to questions.
Code:
Q: Bootleggers? Why? What does that even mean?
A: Bootleggers (on a context of toy bootlegs and related stuff) are the people who take an original idea or product and make their own version, obviously on a low-quality way.
Q: What does the chinese/japanese thing means? I don't get it
A: According to google (and take the meaning of this with a hundred quotation marks) it means home or family. We want you to use your phone and feel yourself comfortable, and like it, like you'll be at home.
Q: Can i make Bootleggers stuff like wallpapers, logos and stuff?
A: Of course, feel free to do it, we will love it.
Q: Do you have any Telegram/G+ Group to chat and share stuff of the ROM?
A: Check the first paragraphs, you'll find it
Screenshots will be attached on this thread.

Is anyone using jio. Because in newest Oreo ROMs m facing this issue ! -.- when my 2gb data gets over than that cross sign comes on top of that but when I am switching of the WiFi ! That goes away . idk how .
But main thing is that jio . why net gets off when my data gets over !
(Because jio allows to surf internet at 64kbps when limit gets exhausted )
Any logic behind this ? ?

Thanks for the review bro, honestly I'm tempted to try. It's just I do some occasional gaming on my phone so gaming performance matters to me as much as system wide performance. And haven't found an Oreo custom rom that scores in the 1500s in the 3d/gpu department for our device. So if it's not asking much. Do you mind running Antutu benchmark and sharing your scores screen?
Couple of bugs to report here:
1. Internet was working fine in SIM1 VOLTE, but it went away suddenly when I was travelling and now I tried everything I can't get the internet working, even switching to other sim is not letting me have the internet. Restarted N times..resetted apn ..tried airplane mode.. nothing is helping.
2. other person on the call is not able to hear my voice clearly...they say its very low as if I am speaking from a large distance.. I think we need to check the build.prop file here for which I need to root it..any suggestion how to do that.
3. Its not detecting sim card at all after switching internet a few times (I switched to get internet from other SIM but it didn't work. I did delvik/cache wipe but it didn't fixed the prob..so I am currently without network on both SIM.. Then I did complete delvic+data+cache wipe to get the sim detected... got VOLTE logo but still no internet
I did a clean flash with TWRP recovery. Things are great so far in terms of performance. Still testing.

what about video recording after deepsleep?
Bootleggers has never been available for any device I owned until now, so I'm kinda itching to try it lol
Does it have the option to remove the clock from the statusbar? How about ram in recents, is that available with normal size recents? Any other options worth mentioning?

You can remove the clock thru settings/Bootleg Dumpster/Status bar
You can't see ram in recents, byt you can select how you want to see the style: Quickstep, stock Android or Android Go
Look here for what more the Dumpster gives you There is no OTA update but for the rest it is almost the same

Thanks, that sounds good :good:
I used to be able to remove that damn clock in Oreo, but my rom hasn't added that to pie (yet?) ... plus I've always like trying new roms anyway
I think I'll try Bootleggers this weekend - thanks again
Edit: I just joined the official TG group and noticed some users saying Substratum doesn't work? Shouldn't it be like on other rooted Pie roms - build overlays, reboot, activate them?
Edit 2: In the TG group I was told themes work and to just be careful with those that didn't implement the fix for roms with headers yet. So I should be good ... I'll make a nandroid probably tomorrow and will try Bootleggers this weekend :fingers-crossed:

Hi, thanks for the kind words!
I am also running bootleggers on my LG v30 and substratum works (navbar) without any issues, so i guess theming should work to.
Im also using Swift Installer (on lg v30 and my sm-t585 tablet) which also themes device (i think its substratum based.?) and it works flawless withouth issues
sry for the screenshots delay all, i was busy all day today trying to get one of the other 4 roms to compile but i just gotta solve many errors first. (i am still learning at compiling let alone solving errors (total noob here he-he )

The ROMs I have installed have stated what platform/version/variant of Gapps to install because there might be some things in the ROM that you shouldn't replace with the Google version.
Assuming ARM64/9.0/Full is good.

That's actually a good question - can we use ARM64 or is the rom only 32bit
But I'd never use Full - Nano is enough and anything that's missing can be installed seperately
Edit: I have flashed the 64bit Nano gapps and everything seems to be working - including removal of the statusbar clock :victory:
I am now making another nandroid before I install my Substratum theme(s) ... just in case

Found something that doesn't seem to work. In other ROMs I didn't have the problem. The Animal Planet and Discovery Go strat but just sit at the logo and spinning disk. That normally take less than as a minute at the spinning disk.
New builds are up!
Changelog:

Dirty flashed the update and everything is working fine - thank you :victory:
Just a small reminder: Disable all overlays if you're using a Substratum theme, then rebuild them after the update :good:

Good Work M8
Thanks mate
Hello, ROM is good, but I have found some minuses:
1 - APTX and Aptx HD isn't working.
2 - "Ancient Features", OTA Manager are not translated on Russian language.
3 - OTA manager says that I am not connected to the internet, but I've done it.
4 - Bug with automatic brightness icon in quick settings. When you turn it on, brightness icon in quick settings starts to jump.
5 - NFC isn't active.
6 - Smart Charging isn't working.
Thanks for your work!!!
Sorry for bad english, I'm from Russia.
This ROM is very stable, and it is the first China Telecom volte I have encountered in such a long time that works perfectly. After one day of use, I don't seem to have encountered a bug. All the functions that I commonly use can work normally, thank you for your efforts.

ROM HAS BEEN UPDATED TO VERSION 3.8 updates are out
I found a strange bug. As a Chinese user, Tencent QQ is our commonly used instant messaging application. QQ has a phone function. When I use QQ for voice chat, whether I am the calling party or the called party, the system will crash and restart at the moment of connection. However, if you use a Bluetooth headset to connect, you will not have this problem. If you need, I can upload the log for you.
I am unable to install the ROM. Error Installing Zip File: .......zip
Please help

The problem has been solved in 3.9,Thank you! But I find 3.9 has two buildings (not kernel). So what's the different between them?

Yeah I have made 4 builds available which are divided in 2-2 section one kernels 2 build
So the system goes like this 1) civilization you get 2 options based on kernels same hose with weeaboo
As per your question now
Weeaboo has Little different UI i think this version is perfect for anime lovers and civilization is just a normal which you have tried I think so weeaboo little different
new builds arriving soon
