Amoled Black Theme with accent colour options - restored links 21 May 20 - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Themes, Apps, and Mods

iOmix Amoled Themes.
Main changes from stock:
-iOS inspired dialer.
-Dark switches, system settings & quick settings icons.
-Changed brightness & volume sliders.
-Google sans font
-Darker text in some areas & and some system dialogue box backgrounds.
Only tested on my Mate 20 Pro, but will try to fix any errors if any are found.
Just remove ".zip" to use the theme
Thanks to @maurydes for allowing me to use some elements from his blue gradient theme, can be found here:
https://themesmanager.app/links/aGJU
Also thanks to @faisal.fmq for the help with testing.
Recent changes (21 May 20):
*Restored links since there was a lot of requests, (provided as is, for now)*
**I.e. No Longer Updating or Supporting* *
Round icon mask:

**Known issues**
Dark text on gmail "subject" notifications, dark controls on default music app notifications & dark status bar icons in the gallery app. These are caused by making the toggles, switches & quick settings black, i will continue to look for a workaround
*I don't expect anything in return, since many people expect something for nothing these days.
Over 5000 downloads, to all who showed appreciation & said thanks, I thank you back!*

Love all the accent colors... Perfect!
Btw you can check the following theme for gallery fix with status bar icons
https://themesmanager.app/links/np9b
In the above theme, gallery is themed, also the info details are clear... You can check it out for a fix

You helped a lot, because I don't use stock apps I didn't see the issues you pointed out.
Thanks!

Just checked that theme & it also has the dark subject in the Gmail notification, Huawei need to update their theme engine, this happens just by adding com.android.systemui & framework-res folders (needed for the black qs) even without adding the theme.xml.
As for the gallery issue that is cause by theming the switches and toggle to black, there's 1 line in the framework XML but it also affects other parts of the theme.
If enough people asks I might do a different version using the default switches qs shade (grey), this will fix the gallery and Gmail

Instead of doing completely like stock dark grey, why don't u do just the gallery app like the theme I gave... Gmail subject issue will always be there, that can be managed. I'm just saying for the gallery app only, rest everything is perfect. Just make the gallery theme stock or pop up option in dark grey which might resolve the status bar icon problem. Your original theme in the previous thread didn't have the gallery status bar problem.
Let Gmail be, as black notifications is more important

The previous version didn't have the status bar issue but did have the black text in the gallery info graph (caused by the black elements in the theme) and since someone else on the other thread pointed it out, I had to find a compromise.
All I can suggest for now is to delete the com.android.gallery3d from the theme until I find a better way or Huawei updates the theme software.
Nothing else I can do right now.[emoji848]

[THEME] (CleanRom 4.0.5) Custom Multi-Window Tab / Status Bar

Updated @ 11:24pm EST. New SystemUI and homescreen picture.
Note*
These theme additions were designed for CleanRom 4.0.5. I cannot guarantee full functionality on roms other than CleanRom or odexed roms. Flash at your own risk!
___________________________________________________________________________________
I don't theme as much as I use to but there are a few things I thought could use a touch of custom for the VZW Note 2! To start I was looking for something clean and stylish.
Multi-Window:
I did mine in a smoke clear w/ text. I can probably do other custom colors like purple, pink, teal, or even team colors. If anyone is interested, please let me know and what color they like. I am also looking to maybe do some S-Pen pointer mods as well.
Status Bar:
Replaced the 4G icon with same color and Robot font
Replaced the CDMA signal icon (4 and 5 signal)
Replaced the Wifi icon. (Icon still shows 4 signal levels)
Replaced the battery icon (new look)
Removed the "100% Battery" icon in left corner
Replaced Bluetooth icons
Replaced Signal null icon
Removed idle upload/download arrows. All others remain
Removed Alarm icon
I have included a homescreen screenshot to show some of the changes. I also attached a full preview of the new icons. Looks much more crisp installed!
Installation is easy:
1. After you download, remove the prefix so that it only says "FlashBarService.apk" or "SystemUI.apk"
2. Copy the FlashBarService.apk or SystemUI.apk to your SDCard or Internal Memory
3. Using a powerful explorer (Root Explorer, Solid Explorer, etc), move the .apk to system\app\ from SDCard or Internal Memory
4. Power off Device. Pull battery and re-start. Enjoy!
Looks awesome, thanks!

Here I made the multiwindow tabbing transparent. I did mine in a smoke clear but I could probably do it in other colors: Green, Red, Blue, Purple, etc. If anyone is interested, please let me know and what color they like. I am also looking to maybe do some taskbar and S-Pen pointer mods as well.
I did this for CleanRom 4.0.5 so I cannot confirm if the file(s) are compatible with Beans or others. Test at your own risk!
Installation is easy:
1. Copy the FlashBarService.apk to your SDCard or Internal Memory
2. Using a powerful explorer (Root Explorer, Solid Explorer, etc), move the .apk to system\app\ from SDCard or Internal Memory
3. Re-boot. You may need to reboot twice.

This mod is awesome. I am stock odex rom rooted and unlocked and works fine. The only thing that seems to not be working is when I hit the edit button to remove some apps, flashbar service force closes.

You did a reset correct? Just to make sure, you can try clearing data in Applications Manager. Find com.sec.android.app.FlashBarService and press "Clear Data". If this doesnt work then I assume it's because it is a odexed rom.

I did reset...twice. After reading your reply, I also tried clearing data and still get the force close. So it must be an odexed rom issue. No matter, I'll just have all my apps in there, not a real inconvenience.
Thanks again!

Dark notifications and other overlays

Read this and some posts before posting!!!
This is an overlay thread...for rro overlays -think layers not substratum..If you have any safe overlays you found works nicely with the phone. You can upload it...with a picture. You can install the overlays and apps found in this thread without root and can modify your system to have dark notifications, different nav bar icons, different nav bar height..etc these are very small like Kb's in size so it's lightweight also..please hit the thanks button there is a lot of work in these files..TAKE A SCREEN SHOT when you install these overlays in case you dont want it, because these apps have various names installed.
the op is updated to like page 30 or something your going to have to do a little work and look around but hey you might also learn something along the way...use the search thread function to find your favorite devs work...

Can someone with root, download it install all the overlays then go into there system/overlay and upload all of them in a zip please thank you. The inversion ui for the playstore i have from my xperia still works, so some of these should still work without root standard install.

Strange. It works
Anyone know where else I can download mode navbar icons so I can change the ones in the apk?
I don't like the Pixel ones but the idea is very nice, just need to find some custom icons to replace in the apk and use those.
Here are overlays for samsung rounded ui.. Unzip package below install as normal apk reboot done.
Only some of your menus will be rounded Samsung is to far from stock Android-your status bar will not be rounded.

You have Pictures from that?
Here is a pick of the playstore...this mod is subtle you will notice it on pop up menus and stuff it may not be for everyone as its not 100% complete . BTW I install all of these first to make sure there won't be any problems. So you can just install it and delete it if you don't like it the zip file is way less then a mb to download.
Is it possible to get the Stock Android Navbar aswell? Thank you!

[MODS] Remove Carrier Labels and Precise Animation Scales

I recently read about the use of RRO theming for the s8, so I took some practice and made this.
This mod basically hides the carrier label (AT&T, Verizon, etc...) from the status bar on the lockscreen and in the notification center (bottom).
You can see in both attached photos there is no carrier in the top left status bar and bottom of notification center.
Apk here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8DTpyUdT0UAeDF5a1E2OE5XVkU
Any thoughts? I'm making more of these mods. Give me ideas ;P
EDIT: I forgot I made another one. Gives you more precise animation scales in developer settings.

Nice, @Tigerhoods sent me this and is better than what I was currently doing. I just added .27 and .75 animation scales. I like what you have done more. We have both been putting our heads together and see all what other kids we can come up with. I am currently trying to get access for those of us who are carrier decided to remove the ability to display the weather icon on the lockscreen. I can add the access to a different XML, but because the original XML does not show the fragment, I can't currently get it to work. I asked in the Q&A thread if anyone had the the name of the shortcut.
If you want we need to get a telegram group together and see what all we can come up with. I currently have everything I have done on my git.
I made an oem unlock switch show up in a different area hoping to help out with root, but there is more that the Java files do when the switch is turned on than just a simple switch making a system broadcast.

Do you have any other overlays installed that may be interfering?

I have sungstratum but no themees installed and I have Custom Navigation Bar but it is turned off
I just uninstalled substratum/Samsung add-on, custom navbar, and anything else that might interfere. Even after I uninstall this app, the quick settings do not reappear
Very nice! Works like a charm.

Substratum - Andromeda on XZ1C

Just a heads up for anyone looking to darken things up on their XZ1C...
I decided to make myself a guinea pig for the Substratum theming engine with the Andromeda plugin. The bright white menus were driving me crazy. It worked!
Here are the steps I took:
1. Install Substratum engine/app on phone
2. Purchased and installed Andromeda app on phone
3. Installed Swift Black theme (noted as compatible with Android 8.0.0)
4. Downloaded and unzipped the Andromeda client batch folder to my PC
5. Enabled ADB debugging on phone
6. Set the connection to "Transfer files" on phone
7. Ran the batch file on my PC
8. Batch file automatically runs Substratum in Andromeda mode on phone
9. Selected Swift Black theme
10. Selected "Android 8 - Nexus and Pixel" in dropdown menu
11. Applied all available overlays in Swift Black theme
12. Rebooted phone
I was pleasantly surprised after I rebooted. Everything looks perfect! No crashes. So far, all menus and apps seem to have themed correctly. Notifications look as they should.
EDIT: I found one small hiccup. Notifications on the lockscreen are still white. Font is a bit hard to read. I just disabled lockscreen notifications, since i'm wearing a smartwatch.
EDIT 2: Phone dialer app not theming
Cheers for the tips, I tried it and it works.
Great.
Thanks for sharing.
I can't seem to get black on the phone app though, everything else looks fab. Am I missing something?

I am having that problem too.
Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have a theme released for XPERIAS. Settings, SystemUI and the Dialer is done, almost finished the framework but as usual a new version of Android brings new code so figuring that out, on top of Android Studio and the Substrtum theme template is taking time. Might have to disable Sonys theme app too as I know the theme apks also have their own assets which overlay certain colours.
EDIT: Confirmed that Sonys themes will need to be uninstalled because they overlay the top of Substratum themes. @Didgesteve, @WaxysDargle, can you post some screenshots of the themed menus etc please?
Does this require root

Have a look at Andromeda app, which seems to do the magic.
No, doesn't need root.

Thanks. Is Settings/Apps & Notifications/App Permissions menu black too? What about the power menu?, that's giving me issues but my lockscreen notifications are white text on a dark background after removing all Sony themes so give that a try and see if it changes yours.
Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sonymobile.themes.sou.cid18.black
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sonymobile.themes.sou.cid19.silver
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sonymobile.themes.sou.cid20.blue
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sonymobile.themes.sou.cid21.pink
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sonymobile.themes.xperialoops2

lockscreen notifications still white. i did see one android system notification that looked right, but messaging, email etc are still white with grey text.
however, that did fix my power menu colors (black now)
what theme(s) are you using? i think some of this could be related to which themes we are using.
also, maybe we should try "Other" instead of "Android 8 - Pixel and Nexus"?

Success installing google dialer and then using that as my phone app, this can be changed in Substrutum.
I had best results with my settings menu using Spectrum

I was talking about the ones preinstalled on the phone, the only Substratum one I'm using is the one I'm making in Android studio.

Your dialer looks like my stock one in terms of colour but have a bit more modding to do in Settings as my app permissions are white.

I have black theme enabled by default, although I didn't think it did anything much other than change the wallpaper, but perhaps there are some other tweeks that I didn't notice.

are your notifications on lockscreen white, like mine? it wouldn't bother me so much if they were readable, but gray text on white background is rough.

No, they are standard white with black writing. But I didn't tick the framework box (top option) in the Swift Black. I think playing with the three dropdowns underneath that first tick option will decide what colour your notifications are and what colour the writing is. That's where you will find the solution. I'm not that fussed about getting notifications black. Previous experience with Layers on my Z3c leads me to believe that it's incredibly difficult to get notifications right and you usually end up making some app or other unreadable. Swft Black is great, but I think Spectrum is also worth a look, a couple of apps look better with that.

Notifications theming has become much more streamlined in recent months. I think this is just a matter of "what has Sony done to the lockscreen".
Dark notifications and menus are the main reasons I theme at all.

Again, Sonys themes overlay certain colours in certain apps, in each theme there are about 7 or 8 assets from the framework to the SystemUI so if a certain colour isn't changing it's because Sonys theme has taken preference. I've removed all of them so Substratum is the main theme engine and not Sonys.

Same here, the only reason I'm using Substratum is because we're unable to backup our DRM keys or I'd be using apktool to theme system apks directly.

it's unclear to me what functionality we would lose without DRM keys (never had a sony before). do you have something i can reference to get a good idea of the implications?

Sonys isn't the best but it does have potential.

This THREAD pretty much sums it up, but if we can backup our TA partition we can restore such functions whilst enjoying the benefits of an unlocked bootloader.

so, even after removing all sony themes, i still can't get lockscreen notifications right with any substratum themes. i've uninstalled all sony themes and cleared all app data from themes app. is it possible we need tailored substratum module for these to look right?

[LIVE WALLPAPER] Borderlight - edge highlight live wallpaper (Updated 11/1/2018)

Borderlight live wallpaper
Hi, this is a thing I made when I got my OP6 a few months back, I stumbled across it today and figured I should post it here because some of you guys might like it. The picture explains how it looks quite well, the gradient also shifts the colors.
The entire thing was made in a day and no development was done since then (so take it for what it is), but it works well and does not crash nor drain the battery. There are no settings whatsoever! Maybe if you guys will like it (or have some neat ideas) I'll make an improved version.
Update 11/1/2018:
App was moved to a different forum, get the latest version here!
Update 10/14/2018:
Rendering is still using android canvases, but I've added settings that should allow you to customize the wallpaper for your phone, including custom notch settings (with a bit of trial and error). These settings are temporary and I'll try to make them better and more intuitive later. It's also possible to export your settings - you can post them here (inside code tags) for other people to use. To import them, you just need to select the entire settings code, copy it and tap "Import settings from clipboard" in the app.

I was thinking of the same thing if someone could do this.
And you did this.
It would be a great help if you can add an option to choose custom wallpaper from gallery and the RGB edges remains the same.
Amazing work, absolutely love this live wallpaper ??

Thank you! Looks awesome!
Can we have an option to only set for lockscreen or homescreen? Currently it sets both but I only want it for lockscreen.
Also love the preview haha ?️
I love it! I was literally just about to look for something like this and I found this thread .
(( I wanted this so bad... It just crashes upon pressing activate for me... Looks sweet tho thru the pics
Oos9
awesome!
Thanx for this but would be super awesome with some settings available for example adding a background image.
My current background doesn't flicker but it is similar.
Some strange network error isn't allowing me to upload a screen shot
Cool..
but... how about screen burn... is this safe ?
