Oxygen OS for Mi A3 - Xiaomi Mi A3 Questions & Answers

I Observed many Custom ROM's are being developed to Mi A3 , can any one of Dev , start Developing Oxygen OS also..
Thanx in Advance.

Hi,
there are many official firmware developed for other Treble (or treblized) devices.
Here you can download latest OxygenOS image, however I'm not sure it will boots/works properly.
If you are interested to other firmware (OneUI, ZenUI, MIUI, etc.) just go on parent directory.
To get updates about GSI working ROMs, please follow this device-specific page (actually only Pixel Experience Q is reported).

I'd say until this gets ported, if it does.... Try Lineage OS., its basically stock android with extra features, quite similar to Oxygen OS, and the OnePlus devices originally had Cyanogen OS (Lineage OS predecessor) installed on them.
You could also try this magisk module, it would bring some of the OxygenOS features to any ROM as long as you have Magisk installed.

Is there any Pie ROM treble enabled ? GSI ready

Is there any Pie ROM which we can keep its vendor and experiment flashing GSI's.
Thanks
Try the Pixel Experience, I'm not sure it is treble but I think so, I can not tell you certainly because I was the owner of Redmi 5 but for a problem I brought him for assistance.
Nope, not working. I already knew about those ROMs.
Only 8.1 LOS is treble
Just a small request. Can any developer just give us a TREBLE enabled ROM ?
The last one updated is a LOS 15.1 TREBLE ROM.
Which still works with latest GSIs and beats the hell out of all the other "Optimized" ROMs.
Just check the fluidity by yourself.
Can anybody just give as an updated TREBLE ROM or at least an updated vendor img ?
All

Are there any custom recovery for device huawei y max, honor 8x max?

I need a recovery for that device plz.
If you have then plz help me.
I found the quack version by phh works. Unfortunately it is android 10. The android 12l have a brightness issues. The crdroid 3.2 works great but backlight is stuck at 50% Researching it's a vendor overlay issue. Seems too complex to program. Can I copy the overlays from the quack rom to a new GSI rom? Dirty flash didn't work.

Hello friends,
I can now flash GSI on my Redmi K30 5G!
The following is the step to flash GSI on Redmi K30 5G (and also probably other redmi devices that support project treble):
1. boot to bootloader (fastboot mode)
2. choose one of fastboot ROMs of China Stable ROM and download it at the link here.
3. extract recovery.img from the downloaded ROM to your ADB fastboot platform tools folder
4. flash stock recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
5. enter fastbootd mode
fastboot reboot fastboot
6. flash GSI ROM of your choice which its size does not exceed the /system of your phone
fastboot flash system system.img
7. wipe all data by entering the following command
fastboot -w
8. reboot your phone
fastboot reboot
My phone can boot GSI ROM with no problem with this method.
Hope this helps.
Edit: add screenshots from the phone with GSI ROM installed.

Any OxygenOS 11 based GSI rom? I found one for K20 Pro. Will any GSI rom works in this way or only ROMs from your given list?

GSI ROMs are no specific to any devices. You can flash any Oxygen GSI ROMs that you found on your devices. But not all GSI ROMs will boot successfully for any devices.
I found this Oxygen GSI ROM here.

If you followed my method correctly but get bootloop, it means this GSI ROM is not compatible with the device. You need to look for the others. You can test flashing GSI ROMs by using phhusson's GSI ROMs here. His ROMs are the most success ROMs so far. I always use his ROMs to test flashing GSI ROMs for any devices before looking for other ROMs to suit my needs.
There are a number of GSI ROMs that I tested and could boot up K30 5G. For example, Havoc OS, Lineage OS, Legion OS, Fluid OS, Pixel Android 10, etc. You can try other ROMs that you like and would be appreciated to share the results.

OK, Thanks. Another question: if GSI ROM works then how much time it may usually take to boot?

It should be less than 5-10 minutes after the GSI logo boot up.

Ok, it seems it is my bad luck. Couldn't boot a single GSI ROM in my device.
CherishOS: bootloop (logo)
Corvus 15.0: bootloop (logo)
Pixel S : bootloop (Redmi logo)
OxygenOS : bootloop (Redmi logo)
AOSP (latest) : bootloop (logo)
Don't know what's wrong with my phone
Note: I only tested Android 11 GSIs

It may be because your firmware is not updated. What is your lastest firmware before flashing GSI?
However there are some of these ROMs of Android 11 that I could not get them boot up. Try them for Android 10. But I could have phhusson's GSI ROMs boot up for sure.
Edit1: Try flashing this firmware before flashing GSI. And there are a number of TWRP for K30 5G. You can use these to flash GSI as well. But best to install TWRP 3.5 or above in order to flash GSI ROM of Android 11.
Edit2: Here is the link to download updated firmware for K30 5G.

My firmware is updated. I am using Weekly firmware of MIUI EU. So I need to flash latest China firmware?
I have OrangeFOX recovery, will that work for flashing GSI ROM?

Try Stable version. MIUI EU ROMs come with updated firmware. But they are weekly verision.
This Recovery should be able to flash Android 11 GSI ROMs here.
So you can flash Vanilla version of GSI and flash GAPPS later.
I am not sure about rooting GSI with Magisk. But you can try with the custom recovery.
By they way, I have never flash GSI ROMs with custom recovery. Since at the time I flashed Android 11 GSI ROMs, there were no custom recovery for Android 11. Follow their instructions for using it carefully.
Edit: Please note that if you could boot up GSI Logos but get bootloop, it's usually because firmware issues. However there are some GSI ROMs that are not compatible with the firmwares of the devices.
Flashing GSI ROMs are pure OS with no firmwares for Android devices which supports Project Treble like installing Windows on PC. Before that the manufacturers have to build Stock ROMs with firmwares. Right now the manufacturers just build firmwares. This is the main concept of Project Treble.

Ok, I have downloaded TWRP3.5 for this device and will flash latest China stable firmware (12.1.6 for K30 5G). I will try those A11 GSI again and also downloaded A10 based OxygenOS GSI.
Let's see what happen....
Another note is if you see GSI ROMs with vndk lite. This means the GSI ROMs come with necessary firmwares. So this type of GSI ROMs will have more possibility to boot. But vndk lite GSI ROMs are bigger file size than usual GSI ROMs.
For Android devices with limited RAM like 4GB or less, there are also limited number of GSI ROMs that can fit into the system partition. In case you try flashing GSI ROMs on other Android devices, the more RAM, the bigger system partition.

Tested A11 ROMs with both TWRP and OrangeFOX, not working. All of them failed with Bootloop (Redmi logo).
So Now I am going to try A10 GSI ROMs in your method (no TWRP or OrangeFox).

No A10 OxygenOS is working.
But finally able to boot one A11 GSI ROM! (following your method and with stable China firmware)
Descendant XI - https://downloads.descendant.me/Home/Latest
version: Latest (February 2021 patch)
Working: Everything
Issues:
1. some screen flickering for 2-3 seconds after reboot/boot the phone
2. Audio don't work out-of-the-box (Need to enable 'alternate audio policy for Qualcomm' from Phh-treble Settings)
3. No built-in Camera app

Glad that you could flash some GSI ROMs successfully. Actually other than Descendant XI ROM, I could flash and boot some other ROMs as follow:
1. crDroid A11
2. Fluid OS A11
3. Nusantara OS A11
4. StagOS A11
5. LineageOS A11
6. Havoc OS A11
You can find a big vault of GSI ROMs here. There are tens of GSI ROMs to test as far as their unpacked file sizes do not exceed /system partition of the target devices.
Right now crDroid is my most favorite GSI ROM. You can download and test it here.
The reasons why I like this ROM are from stability and least issues and glitches.
I have tested tens of GSI ROMs and many of them have some issues for playing games which fully utilize hardware resources.
When I tested playing games on some ROMs, the games will crash within 15 minutes. But on crDroid ROM, I could play as long as hours with no problem at all.
There are some other glitches about playing streaming VDOs for some other ROMs as well.
By the way, there are different versions of crDroid from different developers. But I tested crDroid ROMs from the link above.
Edit: I usually download Open Camera app for Camera. This app works well just like the camera app that comes with MIUI.

Have you tried flashing vanilla versions of GSI ROMs with fastbootd and flashing Open GAPPS with TWRP or Orangefox?
If this is possible, we can flash Vanilla version of GSI ROMs that easily fit into limited space of /system partition and flash GAPPS later with custom recovery.

The ROM I am looking for (OxygenOS) has no vanilla versions, I didn't find any
Note: Custom recovery having issues with GSI, I can't flash Magisk with OrangeFOX. Flashing is ok with no error, but after re-booting the device, no magisk in the system! Because of encryption problem? base firmware is MIUI China stable, custom recovery may be not supporting encryption of China firmware.

Most stable ROM currently?

Hi all,
I flashed a very early build of Proto's ROM about 2 years ago, here's the link to his project:
[ROM][PORT][10.0.0] MIUI 12 China Dev & Xiaomi EU [27.04.20]
MIUI 12 China Dev & Xiaomi EU for Mi Pad 4+! So, it seems like Xiaomi decided to forget about us.. and left us with MIUI 10 and miserable Android 8.1.. But! Thanks to porting we can use Pie vendor from MI 6X/Redmi Note7 and MIUI 11! You can...
forum.xda-developers.com
Since then, I haven't updated my MiPad 4. Just wondering what's the most stable ROM on the market currently? Xiaomi.EU or AOSP like CRDroid or something else? I mainly care about having the basic features that aren't broken, working camera and good battery life.
Try ArrowOS 11... it's fast & stable....
