battery problem galaxy j6 - Samsung Galaxy J6 Questions & Answers

Hello
I have a Samsung Galaxy j6 2018 that I have had since January 2019 without problem, before its consumption at night in standby mode does not exceed 10% (which is normal) after a factory restore consumption exceeds 30% ( at night in standby mode).
When I analyzed which applications are consuming energy I found google play service which is working in the background.
I erased the data, I uninstalled the updates of the google Play service as well as Play store but the problem still persists.
what should i do.

[Q] Wifi Battery Drain on CM 10.1

Hi @all,
since i switched from samsung stock rom to CM 10.1 (M3) there is a high battery drain when the phone is running on standby.
To be sure i'm getting nearly "comparable" results, i flashed both roms completly clean without any additional apps. Google services/syncs switched off, mobile data disabled.
With the samsung stock rom the battery lasts for about 3,5 days in standby. With CM10 the battery is drained after 1,5 days. 12 hours after charging BetteryBatteryStats shows a high number (~20000) of kernel wakelocks for the type "wlan_ctrl_wake" (NOT wlan_rx_wake). As far as i can see, there is no connection to any app keeping the phone from entering deepsleep. However, i only have a deepsleep rate of about 70%. Nothing suspicious in partial wakelocks.
Regarding the battery drain topic, there are many hints on google now, latitude, Gtalk and so on. Already tried those. There's no need to change the wifi settings, because on samsung stock rom everything works fine using the same settings (just about 40 wlan_ctrl_wakes within 12 hours). I'm using Fritzbox 7170 as wifi ap. Some people mentioned multicast/broadcast packages may be a reason for high wifi wakelocks. I traced the network, but nothing of the sort occurs.
Any ideas?
Thank you
Wakelock detector will link the wakelocks to the specific apps

[Q] Kitkat 4.4.2 battery drain (CM11 M7 on S2)

Hi,
I can’t say I’m impressed at all with the SGS2 battery life running CM11 M7 (KitKat 4.4.2). Quite often the battery won’t last through the day (luckily I can charge it at work, otherwise it wouldn’t even be bearable as a phone).
My crappy Sony Xperia J (JB) I had for a couple of weeks as a replacement could easily reach the end of the day with 70% charge still left when I plugged it in at night.
Android battery stats always show Android System and Android OS as the main offenders (around 20% - 25% each), above Screen usage, Voice calls, Mobile standby...
BetterBatteryStats tells me the phone is in the Deep Sleep most of the time, but also that it is awake (mostly at 200 MHz) quite a lot of time as well.
Here’s what I have already tried:
Disabled location services
Disabled Google Now
Disabled Google+ Auto-backup
Opt out of interest-based ads
Disabled back up data to Google servers
Disabled “Android Device Manager” as Device Administrator
Uninstalled all updates to Google Play Services
Disabled automatic updates from the Play Store
Disabled Mobile Data Limit
Disabled Automatic Date/Time updating
Uninstalled Lookout Antivirus
Uninstalled Viber
Uninstalled Skype
Rebooting the phone before connecting the charger
Rebooting the phone immediately after disconnecting the charger
I really don’t want to perform a factory reset specially since I have read some other comments by Galaxy S5 and Nexus 5 owners (KitKat 4.4.2) saying it didn’t work…
So what exactly is going on here?
Thanks!
Sorry

Sorry I cannot help you, however, I am also contemplating installing cm11 on my sgs2 i9100.
I wanted to ask you if you phone came with android version 2 installed on it? (maybe in that case the problem is incapable hardware)
Mine came with 2.3.4 and i do not want to face the same problem as you are now (sorry).
Thanks
It is normal, that non-stock-based roms consume more power because Samsung haven't open-sourced all drivers. And Kitkat drains more than Jellybean. Try Slimsaber Reborn. It has a decent battery life, an very acitve developer, and is nicely customizable.
Any luck?

Hi MegaShark!
I have almost the same issue you have, my device never go to deep sleep... (by "never" I mean 1 minute deep sleep and 1 hour 200MHz)
After months trying, getting help from Better Battery Status thread, flashing, freezing, going crazy, I commited suicide (flashed stock ROM), but it is driving me mad.
The last try I did was with SlimSaber Reborn (Android 4.3.1), but no luck also.
Installed "Unbounce", prevented nlp wakelock, prevented safe alarms and nothing, it only gets worse...
All I get is my device always warm (always running at minimum of 200MHz) and more than 10% battery drain per hour.
Have you found out what is the problem with our S2 on custom ROMs?
Thank you!
First of all, I would advise you to update your rom. CM11 M7 is old now and is filled with bugs (along with versions around that). Update to CM11 M11 Snapshot which will most likely fix many of the problems you are facing but you will need to do a full wipe (factory reset, wipe dalvik and cache partitions). So sorry, the only way to fix is to wipe your data and update.
Will try!

I remember to have hope until CM11 M9... But I'll give M11 a try and report back here!
Drain NOT related to any of the CM version
I have been facing battery draining problem in my sgs2 (i9100) just after installing CM 11.
Then I tried NeatROM without any Luck!
Every time i cleaned data, cache and dalvik to be sure...
at the end I moved back to Stock ROM - everything fine there...
but again then I decided to have just root and custom recovery installed... which required me to Flash Jeboo Kernel v1.2a (which comes with CWM based recovery 6.0.2.7 preloaded)
then it started same problems again... overheating - battery draining ...
It clearly look like ... the battery draining/overheating problem is because of .... Kernel AND/OR CWM 6.XXX
I think, if one want to install CM 11 in sgs2, after installing ROM, he/she need to flash it with some other kernel.
If anybody have tried some other kernel, which doesn't cause battery draining/overheating problem, then pls post here so that other can also try...
Confused

pankhawala, I installed the last available SlimSaber Reborn (4.3) (here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...rivatives/rom-slimsaber-reborn-i9100-t2811657) because o lots of positive feedback on this ROM.
It is really a very nice ROM, but my battery drain problem persisted, I was losing more than 10%/hour in idle.
I just tried to "live with it" and after some weeks it mysteriously gone away.
I was happy for a few days and it went back again.
Now, it has been since this Sunday that it is gone again.
I'm being able to have a very acceptable battery life, very good deep sleep times and less than 4%/h when idle (screen off).
I didn't changed anything and it just got better by itself.
I'm sure it will start to drain again, just don't know when or what is triggering it.
My last hope is that when new Lollipop ROMs start coming out for our S2, some holy developer figure out this problem or that the problem is simply gone.

i9300 w/ CM11, Severe Battery Drain, Please HELP!

Hello everyone!!
A couple months ago I decided to install CM11 on my phone because its performance with the stock ROM was absolute garbage. When I did, everything was exceptional until a couple weeks ago when I started having severe battery draining issues and today was just THE worst day of all.
I charged my phone overnight and I disconnected it from the charger at exactly 6am (when I woke up to go work) only to find out that at 2pm (when I finished my shift) the battery was at 0%. Since I was at work my phone usage was pretty much 0%, including only a couple of texts and that is it.
Now, some time ago I was diggin' around some forums and apparently this happened because Google Play Services were draining 60-80% of my battery overtime. A user in another forum (Calkulin, XDA Developers) posted some modded Google Play Services that would fix the issue, it worked perfectly until Google was updated again and the problem came back. That same user posted an updated version of his modded G.P.S. but unfortunately this time it didn't fix the problem.
I also found an app that would stop acquiring the wakelock causing the issue called Wakelock Terminator but it didn't work either and I am currently using it since I don't know what else to do. I'm really desperate to solve this issue because I depend on my phone to do all sorts of things.
Can I please get some help regarding this issue? This is very very urgent to me.
Best regards,
Carlos M.
First download latest cm11 KitKat gapps package and flash it. Delete your Gmail account, wipe cache and dalvik in recovery, wipe cache of Google Framework and Google Play services. Set your Gmail account, launch Play Store, minimize it by pressing home button and wait minute or two. Restart your phone.
If wakeloks persist launch privacy settings and from advanced menu of system apps disable events in those services which causing most wakeloks.
You can also disable wifi scanning from wifi advanced settings when your wireless connection is off.

Battery drain and high network activity of Play Services when wifi is ON

Hi,
I'm experiencing battery drain and high data consumption when connected to WIFI by Play Services. I have Android 6 on a galaxy s5. I have detected it on BBS in which network activity is too high because of Play Services (80MB in some hours). I have tried to clear cache and data but the problem still comes after 2-3 days.
I've read this may be due to a third party app but I have no clue of which one could be. What can I do? At the moment I have it all the time disconnected from wifi but I think this is not the solution.
If I reboot normally the problem is avoided for sometime (probably after next time I unplug it).
Thanks

how to solve google play service high battery usage & Exynos Idle consumption

Good Day all ,
for those 2 problems the solution is very easy ,
1-for the google play services , if you find it on top of the consumption list , just enter settings - apps - choose google play services - clear cash then storage & manage data and clear all cash & data , it will be fixed nearly 99% of the time,
for general exynos bad consumption the real solution to this is to enter settings - general - reset - then reset settings & accessibility & network then factory reset , and DO NOT restore APPS and SETTINGS again plz plz ,
just restore your Messages if needed & restore you contacts from imported file to SD card for example or from google account , but don't restore any apps or app settings & download them again as new phone from the play store & samsung store
you will find all problems with battery is solved & no heating up etc.. and no complains that the exynos is not as good as SD855
How big difference did you notice?
hm..maybe... but there's clearly something wrong with how the exynos is interacting with the software right now. Because SD855 users are having now issues no matter how they set up their phone

I reset my phone yesterday and despite heavy use and being 15 hours off the charger, I have almost 7 hours of SoT on my 855. That involves a lot of app downloading, creating caches for apps I use, clearing some to re-set some things that I changed, and 5 or 6 reboots.
My S10e is getting so much out of my little battery.

the phone now goes to deep sleep properly as per CPU SPY , whenever i leave my phone for a while it enters deep sleep even if sync & location is on etc..
also the overnight drain on airplane mode goes down from about 6 or 7% in every 7Hours sleep to 1 or 2% max in the 7H sleep.
No DEEP SLEEP - EXYNOS
I did a full reset and after that no DEEP SLEEP neither... I'm trying to figure out why is happening
Just a heads up to everyone if you have high google play services usage it is most likely due to a rougue 3rd party app. In my case it was a battery monitoring app causing the abnormal usage and battery drain. It was causing google play services to always be active, after uninstalling the app the battery drain and always active usage of google play services is gone.
In my case I found what is causing the issue, after I did a video conference with Whatsapp or Google Duo, it never enters in deep sleep again, I should reboot my phone to make DP working again... very nasty bug
