(SOLVED)GT I9300 has 2 options brick doesn't: download & TWRP recovery, it won't boot
I started off by using heimdall with the ODIN downloader to download TWRP 3.3.1 then discovered the "failed to map file" bug, so I downloaded TWRP 3.1.0.
Next I erased everything with an advanced wipe

}
Then I tried to install Lineageos 16
but it failed with Error 7
Is it possible that I erased too much, and know the SG3 doesn't know what model it is?
Then I followed the instructions and removed the assert line from the updater-script, did an advanced wipe, and downloaded again
but the phone won't boot the installed OS, it just keeps going back to download
How do I get it to install and boot Lineageos or any other ROM that works?
TIA Banjo

This ROM
lineage-16.0-20190520-UNOFFICIAL-i9300.zip (theandroid02 (ArnauVF4))
is broken!
Some time ago, I tried it too, and it ended up the same way (stuck in "download mode")
I don't know any good Oreo and Pie ROMs for i9300, because all the ones I've tested (15 of them) were unstable, using these ROMs was just frustrating (for me).
But if you want something much more stable, try unofficial LOS 14.1
(lineage-14.1-20191223-UNOFFICIAL-i9300.zip)

Thanks very much - that worked!
PS: Which version of gapps/Mind-the-Gapps do you use?

It's good to hear it works
I'm using Opengapps ARM 7.1 Pico

open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20200307.zip worked. I found out the hard way it's not arm64.

[Q] How to install JB 4.3 AOSP SuperNexus 3.0 on i777 S2 att?

I have S2 (AT&T) i777 and custom ROM is already installed on it AOKP. (Please see the screenshot attached)
I came across this rom for S2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407458
Can I simply install this ROM on my phone ? any problem in going from AOKP to AOSP ? Do I need to do anything before doing this ? any kernel etc ?
As mentioned in the instructions in the thread of aosp super nexus rom:
Instructions
First time installing SuperNexus 3.0 to your device, or coming from another ROM:
- Copy Google Apps and SuperNexus ROM into your internal SD Card
- Boot into Recovery (Volume up + Home + Power)
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Flash SuperNexus ROM
- Flash Google Apps' package
- Reboot your device
That's all I need to do ? I don't need to install any other thing on my phone ? any kernel etc ?

Update:
I tried installing the rom in recovery mode but it gave a bunch of errors.
I starting installing based on the assumption that I don't need to install any kernel ? please correct me if I need any kernel or any prerequisite in order to install supernexus ROM ?
Please direct me in a right direction.
What errors did it give ?? And did u follow the install instructions completely ?

If it started throwing assert errors, then it could be due to outdated recovery. If that's the case, then please update your recovery, or try a different one. For example I was using Philz touch cwm recovery, and I was unable to install aocp. Once I switched to the non-touch cwm recovery, it installed successfully.

Can you copy that to "C:\OPO", problem is there is space ( ) in path
What is the version of colorOS that is installed?
Also, is it the official (Chinese + Crappy English), or the international one?
Thanks
Mate, if this version of color os messes with your proximity sensor once you flash away from it, you might want to put in the op that users will need to flash a cm modem to fix the issue.

Opx twrp fail

Hello everyone.
I have problem with my OnePlus X. It's rooted and a week ago starts roll out new Oxygen 2.2. I get OTA update, but I can't install it. I understand, it's because of root, but I downloaded zip file and trying to install it via TWRP and it always say's FAIL. Even on FACTORY RESET. I read a lot of stuff but it's always the same. Flash custom recovery and install ROM via TWRP or CMW.
Can you help me?
Thanks
what are you flashing? the full ROM or the OTA? which TWRP are you using and what is the error message?
I was trying to flash OTA Oxygen 2.2 but it doens't work. So I tried full ROM (oxygen and Cyanogenmode) and it doesn't work too. I have TWRP v2.8.7.0 .

OTA can't work it's normal.
Full zip should but if not, you have to install Bluspark recovery.
twrp-2.8.7.0-onyx_f2fs_v12.img

Just to be sure, You followed well the unlock bootloader / recovery install and root instructions? You didn't just do the oneclick root approach?
Not one click. Full root.
It' should work with the recovery I told you, as it worked with others....
I hope it will. Thanks a lot man.
Do one thing,
Flash blu spark recovery, Then choose the 2.1.3-X zip n in the next step "add zips" add 2.2 (latest one) patch which is about 40mb n flash both at once.. it will do it n u will b on Oos 2.2
YES! Got it. I downloaded full ROM 2.2 Oxygen and I did new recovery (blue spark) and it all works Thanks guys )

Hello is it work for samsung Sm-G361H???
Sent from my SM-G361H using Tapatalk
I installed TWRP 3.0 on my AT&T LGOG e970 using Flashify and so far no problems. I did a back up. I haven't done a restore yet or an install. It looks to be very nice, I only wish there was something to install, like a rom or kernel.
unable to install e970 rom with it
Hello Alijosekt,
as @guyton100 stated above, when trying to install the latest Nitrogen MM ROM compiled for geeb, it errors out stating that the device is "geehrc" and therefore it is not compatible with the the geeb zip. Also, I tried to restore by backup afterwards with this TWRP 3.0.0 build and the device just hangs after reboot. After flashing TWRP 2.8.6.0 back and then doing another restore, everything worked as usual.
I hope that helps... Let me know if I can do any testing or help out any other way. Thank you for not abandoning the geeb... My wife and I are hoping to get another year, maybe two with our E970's; as it's still a decent device for everything besides heavy games
After reading customcarvin's comment I switched back to 2.8.6.0

Confirmed Working, flashed Slimkat 4.4.4 and Nitrogen 6.0.1 back and forth.

Almost bricked phone

I installed TWRP on my N960N and it worked soon as i flashed any ROM it got some kind of issue
On AOSP based ROMs like
-PixelOS - boots keeps crashing on setup screen, and bootloops teeling "Bluetooth Keeps Stopping"
-PE+ - just bootloops
-ArrowOS - same as PixelOS
-Lineage - won't even flash using adb sideload
On OneUI based ROMs
-DEODEX | QQ ONE UI 2.5
-NobleROM2.6 - both of them just bootloops.
any idea?

If nothing helps, try installing latest stock rom using odin (find the steps on xda). Then go to developer options, turn on oem unlock (if its off) and install twrp again.
Before installing anything- go to wipe/advanced wipe (this will delete internal storage too so back it up first)/ select change file system and select ext 2 and swipe. After its done select ext 4 and swipe again. Reboot to twrp.
Try installing any rom- i sugest you to go with noble 2.6/one ui 4.1, follow the steps in the thread.

Try to follow
After failing multiple times with a few of the same ROMs you mentioned, I used the video to guide me and installed the latest NobleROM, all good.
I was on another ROM (iodeOS), switched back to Samsung official ROM and then simply followed the steps.
I used the PDF instructions from sammobile to get back to factory image first.
Good luck and cheers.
