Cannot enter recovery - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have an E5823 from a friend (sounds dodgy but is for real).
*. Phone is from Sweden and boots up with a 3 logo
*. I cannot enter recovery no matter what combinations of power and volume buttons i use
*. None of the codes (like *#*#7378423#*#* or *#06#) work
*. i don't know if the bootloader is locked or unlocked and cant find out.
Can anyone suggest any steps please?

have you tried using adb and fastboot from a pc?

I am trying but i cant get adb devices to recognise the phone. All drivers are installed. I suspect USB debugging is not switched on
However I cant into settings to turn on USB debugging mode. The phone is locked. I've bumped into the android FRP i think. My friend tried various accounts to unlock. No luck. I was his last resort to get the phone up and running again (i know this sounds suspect but it's for real)

Hi. Did you ever get this resolved? I am facing the same problem with my brothers phone. I can't get into recovery with any key combo and I can't get in to settings because it's locked and he forgets his PIN.

No. But i found a few YouTube videos that show you how to get around FRP

[Q] Sony LT22i Nypon (Xperia P)

Hi friends!
I have a big problem with my phone.
I've locked it with patterns, and it asks for Gmail or Security Question, and the USB debugging is off, Bootloader is not allowed....
There is no possible to unlock this phone with email or this qestion, and also I cant connect it to any Flash tool, Emma, , the Secret code "*#*#7378423#*#*" is not working too, to get into the Service Menu. I cant get in to fastboot as well with button press like Volume down + Power.
I've used all Sony tools, to unlock bootloader, but they all asks for USB debugging ON.
I am using Windows 10 Tehnical.... maybe this is the reason, but dont think so, because on Win 7 is the same problems.
So my question - How can I get in to the phone, for just enable USB debugging ?
you too ha

Can't enter Flash Mode, only Safe Mode. (Not just via USB)

So,
I'm trying to flash my Z5C with latest LP but when I try to enter Flash Mode to do it the phone enters Safe Mode. Now some people say it might be driver related and yes, one of the Z5C drivers I tried installing says this:
Sony Net (03/19/2015 6.0.6000.16511) Not needed (No device for update present)
Now even if it is a driver issue, shouldn't I be able to enter flash mode by simply pressing Vol Down + Power Button? I still enter Safe Mode. Can I not enter Flash Mode any other way than the Vol Down + USB?
I bought this phone a week or so ago and have not fiddled with anything apart from turning USB Debugging and Unknown Sources on. Other than that I have not done anything, not even OTA as it instantly goes to MM. This phone is stock firmware from factory.
Now when I tried connecting to Flashtools by entering Safe Mode (which I thought was flash mode but with a diff name) Flashtools either says Debugging is off or it goes as far as saying "Root Access Denied" (Note: it's not an error, just another message) and stops. The popup which says to plug in the phone doesn't dissapear either. So that's where I'm stuck and it's due to me not being able to enter Flash Mode on the phone.
So question is, what am I doing wrong?
PS. I will try this all over again on my W7 desktop as I've only tried with my W10 laptop and I know there are different driver settings. Yes I did enable "No Driver Signature"-mode on W10 prior to installing them but nothing changes.
Thankful for any help as I don't want stock, cause it's not very optimized and also phone can get a bit hot whereas they fix a lot of issues with these updates.
[EDIT]
Btw, can't find Sony PC Companion on the official site. Instead it's replaced by Xperia Companion. Inferior in tools but I assume they have the same drivers for phones included?

USB is the only way. I had to use 4 different PCs before finding one flash tool liked BTW. And you are kind of wrong about they fix issues with these updates. They really just create more. I'm on.200 LP and probably never going MM until aosp can deliver because MM is so messed up.
Did you get this sorted?
I can't boot into flash mode either, and I am stuck on a boot loop. Phone trying to setup and processes stopping.

Thank you for the suggestion to try different PCs. I only have the one at home but I tried a different USB port and Flashtool is working now. Bizarre.

How to do I bypass screen?

I've been stuck on this activation screen and it won't activate. Is there a way to bypass this screen? I've tried literally everything I could find online, but can't bypass it. Factory reset doesn't work and just boots up to this screen same with dialing numbers no effect. I have developer mode enabled with USB Debugging on and fastboot doesn't connect to device tried everything with the drivers and multiple computers with fresh install of windows/linux. Drivers from adb/fastbook program doesn't work, LG official drivers don't work, and PDAnet drivers don't work. Only thing that works is adb which can recognize the device and only fastboot doesn't recoginze device. I don't even know if the bootloader can be unlocked because it's locked on this phone. I actually have SuperSU on the device, but I can't access it to root the device the only thing I can access is settings. Virgin Mobile DDR LG Tribute 2 LS665 5.1.1 Lollipop

Is it because it's locked to a Google account? What screen does it get hung up on? Is it connected to the internet?

Recover data from locked Samsung Galaxy A51

Hi,
I'd like to recover data from a Samsung Galaxy A51 .
The phone is locked and I don't have the pincode (forgotten), I've been able to turn it off (only with USB connected, otherwise asks pin) and put it in recovery mode, but from there couldn't reboot to bootloader/download mode... (the phone just restart normally).
I think USB debugging is disabled too...
I was looking into adb commands with clockworkmod installed to pull data out, but I can't find a way to flash it to the phone..
I'm fairly new to Android but I have experience with computers and procedures.
How can I achieve the data recovery?
Thank you very much for your help.

If you can't unlock the screen and if USB debugging was not enabled before the issue started, you will not be able to recover your data.

Question How to access cracked black screen Redmi Note 10

Hello guys.
I have a unique problem here. I have a Redmi Note 10 with a broken black screen. I want to access the phone to be able to backup all my files and if possible to use it with my PC with Vysor or Cast. Because I am still not able to repair the screen right now. And I would also like to have backed up my files before it is repaired.
So I've tried many youtube tutorials to access the phone but it seems none of them can help me because not only can't I see anything on the screen but also I have a very complicated pattern so it is impossible to guess the pattern with a mouse. The screen itself is dead so it doesn't respond to touch.
But I want to believe that I can be able to access my phone because my phone is rooted with Magisk and I'm running a custom rom - Crdroid version 8.9 Android 12. I also have a PC. I am able to get into Crdroid recovery when I press volume up + power button. I am also able to enter into fastboot mode when I press volume down + power button.
I'm stating all this because I want to know if there is any way I can be able to backup my files or access the phone with my laptop. I saw that one can be able to access their phone if Developer Options are turned on. Mine were turned off before the screen broke. Is there any way I can be able to turn them on in my situation?
Please help.
try to boot twrp in fastboot.
fastboot boot twrp.img
i think mtp is activated automatically. problem is if it will ask for the unlock pattern on twrp
Okay

So if I boot into TWRP, the computer will be able to read my files automatically?
i think there is no hope in your state...
complicated screenlock + fully dead screen + developer options turned off
if you had USB Debugging enabled you could use this software to use the phone on the PC like in the picture because i have a phone in the same status like yours but USB Debugging was enabled.
with twrp you can save your internal storage files but it will ask for pattern and you won't be able to access those files without unlocking it.
so i guess the only way is trying to guess the pattern with a mouse... i know that will be really hard but is the only thing i can suggest.
otherwise just take your phone to a repair shop

Okay. I guess I'll just take it to the repair shop then since it's impossible to guess that pattern. Thank you for your reply.
