Working GCAM for Snapdragon w/ Telephoto!

UPDATE: I haven't really followed this thread since I don't have an S10 anymore, however, just a heads up telephoto now works with the Snapdragon S10/Note 10 series and Gcam! Gcam can be downloaded in my S20 thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/gcam-working-with-s20-ultra-telephoto.4200277/
Now with Wide Angle and Telephoto Camera Support!
All credits go to Arnova8G2, CStark, Fizwiz, Xenius9, Urnyx05
Benefits:
Gcam offers less aggressive noise reduction and oversharpening. Under daylight things might not look too different but it's a lot better for low light, especially for finer details like carpets, hair, fabric texture. I've attached some comparison shots. The file names will indicate which camera was used for the pictures.
Regarding 6.1 vs 6.2 vs 7.0 vs 7.2:
6.1 could be more stable and allows you to save profiles that you can swap between (for instance if you have a setting for indoor and outdoor). However 6.2 is faster, possibly better processing algorithms. 7.0 is faster still and even better algorithms. 7.0+ also ads astrophotography option which is night sight but even better! 7.2 works on Android 10 only and should improve upon 7.0.
GCAM 6.1.0.021 Base
Download Arnova's Advanced 1.7 here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-arnova8G2/
then download the XML config attached to this post.
Instructions for applying the XML file can be found here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/settings09/
What works:
- Aperture switching for main camera (settings > Samsung CameraAPI2 > toggle "Switch to 2.4f aperture)
- Motion photo (have to use google photos as gallery and only limited to 1080p resolution)
- Night Sight
- Portrait mode
- Wide angle camera (hold the toggle camera button to switch between wide and regular rear cameras, press to switch between rear camera and front camera)
GCAM 6.2.030 Base
Download Arnova's Advanced 2.2 here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=31714
Go to Settings > About > Enable Advanced Features
Settings > Enable AUX
Settings > HDR+ Control > Image Format > YUV_420_888
Quality HDR+ > Super High
Custom Libs > Eszdman v3 Beta
What works:
- Aperture switching for main camera (aperture icon at the bottom right)
- Motion photo
- Night Sight
- Portrait mode
- Wide angle camera (toggle button at the bottom left)
GCAM 7.0.009 Base
Download Xenius9's GCam_4.0.191101.0729build-7.0.009_x9_s9s_mod_0.43.apk here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12qfHQ-oq4vrHCWFkNaP6lNHMoDB31SNy
To enable astrophotography, go to settings, developer settings and make sure nightsight.extended_tripod and nightsight.extended_iterable_burst is enabled.
What works:
- Aperture switching for main camera (aperture icon at the bottom right)
- Motion photo
- Night Sight (with Astrophotography)
- Portrait mode
GCAM 7.2.010 Base for Android 10
Download Urynx05's gcam mod here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81499445&postcount=1197
then download the XML config here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/p/f/2020/01/s10_snap.xml
Instructions for applying the XML file can be found here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/settings09/
What works:
- Aperture switching for main camera (aperture icon at the bottom right)
- Motion photo
- Night Sight (Astrophotography can be enabled but max shutter is only like 2 seconds, not enough for stars)
- Portrait mode
- Wide Angle Camera
More development info can be found in the original app page.

Did you guys apply the XML file after copying it to where it needs to go? Detailed instructions here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/settings09/
Followed the instructions and it seems to be working fine so far on my S10, although I haven't done extensive testing.
How do you switch between apertures? It doesn't seem obvious to me.
Any reason this wouldn't also work on a Snapdragon S10+? Thinking about giving it a try now...
---------- Post added at 11:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:42 AM ----------
Installed and verified basic functionality on my S10+. Took a couple of night sight pictures and they turned out good. Will do some more testing. Thanks for the information.
Update: I'm seeing issues when switching between different modes. For example, the picture freezes whenever I go into portrait mode. Other modes work sometimes, but display a black screen other times. The app doesn't freeze or crash, and if I switch to another mode then switch back, sometimes that resolves it.

To fix portrait mode freezing, go to Settings (top section, mod settings) -> Advanced -> FIX -> Viewfinder Format. Then select YUV-420_888 (default).
Very good. The viewfinder fix seems to have worked for portrait mode, and helped with all other modes as well.
Any other settings changes you would recommend making to optimize performance?
Which photo is from the stock cam vs gcam?
I took a few pics just now outside with default camera and then with Google night sight. Google cam pics definitely a little brighter, and much clearer, with more detail than the default cam. Quite pleased.
Got it to work thank you. Had to restart my phone, now everything works.
Snapdragon?
Yes i have the s10+ with snap

Night sight is phenomenal. To the point where I use it almost exclusively even in daylight on my Pixel 3. Can;t wait for S10 with gcam port.
How is the shutter delay using the gcam port on the S10? On LGs where I have used gcam, the ZSL would not work and that was the only downside.
When i took picture with night sight.my phone restart it sekf.
I envy you guys. I have got the exynos version and stock cam quality is ****. Miss my pixel 3.

I will check the shutter delay today when I have time. I've only used it for night shots as of now since that was the primary advantage it has over the samsung cam software. I know as of right now, this version doesn't support the wide angle lens, which means it's necessary to keep both sets of software. HOwever, I read in another thread (here or on reddit) that there is now a gcam version that works with JUST the wide angle lens. So hopefully they can combine these and give us a fully working port in the near future.
thanks i will try soon.
On the snap my stock cam sucks also. This google cam and open camera destroy it

Gcam 6.2 moded version

Hi to all,
I faind that moded Gcam last version 6.2 from bulkin043, web site:
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-bulkin043/#apk907
Is half way working. Video, timelaps , panorama is working in Mate 20 Pro. Other things just stopped work. I think that someone who know can fix this and make this application works very well.
On this web site you can faind moded Gcam for LG V40 or V30 so that means you can use all 3 camera lense. But still someone need to fix this application.
I would like if someone can contact bulkin043 for help. Or just make the petition if we need it. Or whether bit it will be fantastic of we have Gcam on this very strong camera hardware.
P. S. When you open the camera turn off "motion" and then swipe to the video or oanorama or more otions.

4. swipe for more, settings > advanced (the first one) > Base > Config > Pixel2017 HW Zsl Hdr Intent(need YUV) also 2018 is working
5. Go back for the in the same advanced menu and go to FIX > Viewfinder Format > YUV_420_888 (Default)
6. Optionally turn on HDR+ Control ( in settings > Advanced (the last option in the main menu)
Notes:

Thanks for sharing, but all of them are quite unstable and besides HDR (I didnt see difference from normal mode) no special mode is working. As for normal camera mode I found postprocessing (PP) from huawei camera better->more natural with all 3 cameras working with Night mode ofcourse and STABLE!!! On the other hand Gcam on samsung S7e (I sell it yesterday) produced much better PP and functionality with HDR too. But is there any need for Gcam in these days when huawei is so good? Just my thought...
edit: I tested 3rd Gcam 6.2 side by side Stock camera (pro mode) and I have to say, in good light stock camera destroyed Gcam but when it comes to lowlight, gcam won every single shootout (with NO night mode) Ive got amazing noise free shots with good detail

Good GCAM with my settings for Poco F1

UPDATE : Parrot's 7.0.009 final goodbye version GCam with detailed settings below is still the best overall. Because onFire's Gcam (based on @cstark27 's Camera PX 4.1) is good but has some bugs : slowmotion, sabre with selfie, camera sound etc... for bugs : https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog886/
Especilally shooting with flash and videos Parrot is better than onFire. onFire was better in night sight and most conditions. But things may have changed with the last iso change in the parrot settings. The parrot is very good now.
You can install and use two Gcams at the same time without any need. I think it's best to use both.
Keep in mind : after installation Clear data of the apps.

I have shared a few different places before, but I thought it would be more appropriate to share the results of my long-term trials under a separate title.
I hope that our active developers, who I appreciate and respect, will make @sannn111ty and @Sreekantt more better on updated GCam versions. As poco users, we are waiting excitedly.
Also new Gcam versions of Parrot043, which does not work in our Poco F1, may also help us again.
I tried many gcam versions for our Poco F1. I think this is the best gcam 7 version by Parrot043 with the best photo quality for both miui 11.0.5 global stable android 9 (P) and miui 11.0.4 global stable android 10 (Q) on 22/02/2020.

First you must uninstall other gcam and Keep in mind : after installation Clear data of the app

Thank u so much working
I think the worst part of this gcam version is that it doesn't have "flash option" in night sight mode on back camera.

I don't think any Gcam has flash in Night Sight mode, including Pixels. Google has marketed it as better night photography without flash!!

This is wrong data.
In small and too dark places (for example rooms with no light and too dark) google night sight with no flash is garbage and even the normal camera with flash is better than night sight.
And also yes, we have Gcam has flash in Night Sight mode and almost stable. for example ;
on this link : https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-marlin-ku/
you can install and see : GCam_7.2.018_Nokia_8.1_008d.apk and MGC_7.2.011_BSG_Urnyx05-v1.4_010.apk
But, still as I said before I tried this and other many gcam versions for our Poco F1. I think this is the best gcam 7 version by Parrot043 with my settings for the best photo quality.
I hope, @sannn111ty and @Sreekantt will make more better on updated GCam versions soon.
On mi8, if you set Pixel AWB Mod on Pixel 4 XL, it doesn't work. If you set Pixel AWB Mod on Pixel 3A XL you can see difference between a pic with AWB or not.
Firstly, I'm talking about poco f1 , sorry.
if you are talking about flash option on night sight mode, yes i tried GCam_7.2.018_Nokia_8.1_008d.apk and MGC_7.2.011_BSG_Urnyx05-v1.4_010.apk with Pixel AWB Mod on Pixel 3. On this gcams; in small and too dark places (for example rooms with no light and too dark) google night sight With Flash is best than all other gcams. Also this two gcams don't have pixel 3 xl or pixel 4 xl awb mod, sorry i think you mess.
if you are talking about parrot's 7.0.009 gcam; pixel 4 xl awb works flawlessly.
thanks.

I have 4 gcams on mi 8: parrot, marlin-ku, burial and sanity f1v9.5
I'm talking about parrot.
i use in main interface awb button to quick enable/disable awb
If i select pixel 4 xl awb is always working, not difference between 2 pics.
If i select pixel 3a xl I can see difference between a pic with AWB or not.
Now i'll try your settings
Doesnt install on pixel rom for me.

You should use any app cloner aplication. Simply; if you cannot install gcam app due to the package name, install this gcam apk via the app cloner app. First select the gcam apk on your phone via the app cloner and hit clone icon. Then install the cloned gcam apk via the app cloner.
Note: If you're experiencing crash, enable the "skip native libraries" option under "Cloning options" when creating cloned gcam.
How to use app cloner : https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/how-to-duplicate-clone-apps/
Please, don't remove PE rom's stock gcam otherwise MAYBE it create problem.

I have shared a few different places before, but I thought it would be more appropriate to share the results of my long-term trials under a separate title.
I hope that our active developers, who I appreciate and respect, will make @sannn111ty and @Sreekantt more better on updated GCam versions. As poco F1 users, we are waiting excitedly.
Also new Gcam versions of Parrot043, which does not work in our Poco F1, may also help us again.

yes, there is face retouching and also maybe other things you want in parrot's gcam roursamajor
on Settings --> About Modification --> Advanced Settings -->camera.enable_facebeauty : checked (if you want face beauty option in selfie camera)
Are newer updates from parrot043 like 7.3 or later, good enough or this version (7.0.9) is best.

Gcam working on exynos

Hello there. Noob here.
Found this video on youtube with a link for a gcam port that works on exynos. I've downloaded, tested and for me, works flawlessly.
Here is the video link:
Here is the files download link:
BSG GCam APKs - Google Camera Port
Modified Google Camera app by BSG.
www.celsoazevedo.com
And a screenshot from the steps.
That's the file that worked for me.

I Tried this on my S20 ultra and it seemed to be working fine.
Edit: the app just disappeared from my phone.
hey paco. i noticed that the gcam app conflicts with the samsung quick measure. when i updated the quick measure the gcam disappeared. I uninstalled Quick measure from the galaxy store and reinstalled gcam and everything is fine.

When using astrophotography mode something is wrong. It´s starts the countdown and the circle around the shutter goes around until about 50secounds..at around that time the circle stops but the countdown keeps going. When it reaches 0 nothing happens and everything frooze.
Is there a way to fix this? Is it happening to anyone else?
whats benefit of Gcam over samsung camera?
Something new from Pixel 6 pro Gcam ?
Nice but not compatible with 108mpx
And zoom X100
Does this camera work for custom ROMs?
Up - I posted in the generic GCam thread (mostly about Snapdragon): there's a GCam 8.4 port that works very well on my S20 Ultra Exynos for the back camera. Front are unfortunately not available since the OneUI 2.5 update, thx to Samsung.
Copy/paste:
Even better: Hasli's LMC8.4_R15. There's no config file needed.
Install one of the Samsung version (ruler or scan3d), then instructions found on Reddit:
To get telephoto and ultra wide cameras:
Settings > Additional cameras > Toggle "Tele camera" and "Wide camera" toggles
Settings > Additional cameras > List ID manually, there:
enable BOTH toggles ("Use listed IDs" and "Use given values")
in "List ID manually", write: 0,1,2,52
in individual IDs, set: Main Camera 0 Tele Camera 3 Wide Camera 2 ID4 Camera 4 ID5 Camera 5 Front Main lens 1
To get the Pro button: Settings > Processing functions > Viewfinder settings > PRO Mode (toggle to enable)
Optical stabilisation: settings/LMC take/optical stabilisation
On my S20 Ultra Exynos, the front camera is still not working, but all back cameras are working - even video in 4k on the telephoto.

Thanks for posting this, best I have been able to find so far, but I am finding it to be pretty unreliable in actually capturing an image. Any luck on getting the front camera to work?
New version of Hasli's GCam LMC8.4_R17 (use one of the "_samsung" files).
Updated config for S20 Ultra attached.
