7T Pro, 8 Pro or Note 10+? - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Q & A

Hi,
I can get both the Note 10+ (Exynos) and 7T Pro quite cheap through my job. I can also wait for the 8 Pro. I feel like the S20 Ultra is too expensive for a phone. I guess 5G will be delayed due to Covid 19 anyway.
Which would you recommend for photo/video camera and general performance?

Battery are on par
performance of course 7t pro is better but almost unnoticable.
Warp charge is great.
90 fps but not working on most 3d apps.
But.
Note10+ has
Certify water resistance.
more on features, customization and themes benefit from one UI.
Unread badge build-in.
S-Pen.
Wireless charge.
some feature using curve screen vs curve for nothing.
Samsung DEX is one of useful feature for me.
for me if I have to pick one of them for free , of course note10+
But if I have to pay, I'll pick 7 pro (not 7t pro, not much different and ways cheaper).
I'm using 7t pro now.

Is this the best smartphone of 2018 in your opinion?

Hey guys, so I've been really overthinking all day if I should get the Mate 20 Pro. The 3 main phones I've been using this year are S9+, OP6, Note 9 but I won't count the S9+ as the Note 9 is exactly the same but with bigger battery, bigger screen and the spen (it's cool the first week and then I forget about it, but I do get others use it on a daily basis so there's no competition for the note) . So both the Note 9 and OP6 have things that I've personally missed from the other device, however, at least on paper, the Mate 20 Pro seems to have it almost all.
What I missed about Samsung while owned OP6:
*Better OLED screen colors, higher resolution and brightness
*Stereo speakers
*Wireless charging
*IP68 peace of mind
*Higher volume with BT earbuds (don't know if 20 Pro has this)
*Not really missed but wanted the 4000+ mah battery on Note 9
*Always on display
*Samsung pay with MST (but no big deal since still have my Gear S3 frontier watch)
*One-handed mode
What I miss about OP6 currently on Note 9:
*Really fast/fluid/smooth UI (although I've heard some reviewers complaining about the 20 Pro dropping frames but at least should be better than lagsung)
*Native gestures navigation
*Actually FAST Cable charging
*Lighter and smaller body (pocketability and one hand use)
*Fast unlock, either fingerprint or face/iris are slow on Note 9
*OP6 didn't drain too much battery on idle, on days that I almost don't use the phone Note 9 4000 mah battery performs very similar to 3300 mah battery on OP6
Better than both previous phones/new to me features really looking forward to try:
*3D fast and secure face unlock
*In-display fingerprint sensor
*Raise to wake
*Knuckle gestures to start multitasking, take screenshots, launch apps, etc.
*Triple camera, amazing low light performance
What I think I'd miss if I switch to Mate 20 Pro:
*Slightly wider and notchless screen on Note 9, maybe better colors and brighness?
*BT audio? No dolby atmos, lower volume?
*Stereo speakers are worse than note 9 according to reviewers
*Fingerprint gesture to bring down notification panel
I've seen a lot of comments on other forums and on YouTube claiming the Note 9 is "waaaay better" than the Mate 20 pro. Only advantages I could think of are spen (but I don't really use it) and headphone jack (I haven't touched it in any phone in the last 3 years since I use strictly BT only, Fc me, right?)
So, am I missing anything that would make the Note 9 superior or that I would miss if I switch to the Mate 20 pro? Or do you think this is absolutely the best phone of 2018?
EDIT: it also has IR blaster and remote control app, missed this since Note 4 lol!

So, for this reason I'm not sure to replace now my note with the note 9.. The most important feature, the S pen, is only an option for me... S9 plus? Yes.. But some hardware parts are already, older than a note 9 hardware set...
Also, after 8 years with only Samsung devices I want try something of different.. And now I think that with this mate 20 pro, maybe I found what I need... High performance, wireless charge, amazing camera, pc mode (maybe can be a interesting features if can be used without any extra hardware such Samsung dex, but also the note 9 now can be used without it).. Nice design...
So, actually I think this will be my next smartphone... I'm. 90% sure...

I haven't pulled the trigger yet but I am 90% sure as well, only thing I just found out I'd miss that I first thought I wouldn't is always on display. Mate 20 Pro has it but it is just the clock and battery, no third party notifications. So if it doesn't show notification I think I'll just turn off AOD to save battery, however, if it doesn't have the RGB LED either, I think I'd miss something to check notifications at a glance

Yes is true but also in this case for my opinion it depend of the normal use of everyone's...
For a example.. Personally I deactivate on my note 8 the always on function because I use for my job and personal use the smartphone really every moment, and switch on the screen to check he notification, is not a problem for me..
The battery life is another important point for me... As I explained before, I abuse of my smartphone usually.. Mail.. WhatsApp, web surfing and a lot of special application such autocad, notes... The only apps that I don't use are the games...
Anyway, I noticed that after some months Samsung device became to have a battery drain.. In some case I solved using avast antivirus app, because his app kill some background process, that wasn't not stopped using the software integrated in Samsung device.
I know that now we have a bigger batteryin both devices, but I want try another company and check if the battery drain can be not a problem anymore.. Also.. I want try the ai support of huawei that promise to solve the problem of the bad performance after day after day...

Same here man, my pixel 2 xl aod is brilliant, and dunno how i will cope with mate 20 pro aod... Like why is soo hard for them to implement this? Still i pulled the trigger and pre ordered it, will keep pixel for a week after just in csse and see if get get used to it not seeing notifications on the aod...
For me is an absolutely yes to your question I never had anything like this Mate 20 Pro it is even better than P20 Pro! Wireless charging, amazing screen amazing battery life fast graphics and processor its all full of future proof! And aesthetically is gorgeous!
The phone seems to be gorgeous, but EMUI is horrible...

Feel the same, gorgeous hardware and not so gorgeous software. Had the P20 Pro and loved everything but the software. Will at least try the Mate 20 Pro and see if it is a keeper or not

I also tried the P20 Pro and gave it back because of that damn EMUI... I hoped that they would fix the expandable LS and AOD but nothing happened. That's why I won't buy any phone from Huawei.
Seems like Huawei does not think that these are bugs....
What do they think are the advantages of taking these features out? I don't get it
So as an update to my first post, here's a few more cons of the Mate 20 Pro (some only apply in the US)
*Everyone seems to dislike EMUI
*Problems with third party lunchers
*Worse signal in the US, no wifi calling and no LTE bands 66 and 71 (T-Mobile)
*Pissible spying
*When using the hiding notch option the screen does look noticeable smaller vs Note 9 (picture attached) I'm not sure if the downgrade in display size would bother me

Damn, I'm sill laying to the side of getting the 20 Pro but this just made the decision harder
Today I tested Mate 20 Pro:
- High quality hardwares: very good build quality, Oled screen look better than Note 9 ( better white balance, higher brightness ) ...
- Seem very good battery life, better than Note 9 and Xs Max
- I don't like EMIUI too: not really modern ( clean and clear ), some micro stutter lags
- Portrait Backlighting: bad quality compare to Note 9 especially compare yo Xs Max

Awesome thank you so much for the feedback! I was really concerned about screen colors and brightness feeling as a downgrade from Note 9
Would you say the micro stutters are worse than in Note 9? It always drop frames when opening recent apps menu, switching apps, unlocking animation, adjusting split screen, operating split screen both apps start to lag, opening swiftkey keyboard, especially on google translate app I'm not sure why but it lags really bad (relatively for a $1000+ phone) like 4-5 seconds to open swiftkey keyboard after tapping on text box. I know EMUI is no OxygenOS but I was hoping at least some improvement from Note 9. Just as Note 9 is not perfect but improvement from Note is very welcome.

You have the BOE display, right? I am really really reaaaally dissapointed with the LG display, it's almost a deal breaker I am still thinking about it depends if I find enough workarounds for other problems.
What i like about the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is:
The design
The screen
The performance
The battery life
The face unlock
The onscreen fingerprint reader
The camera
Emui is alright.
Huawei could do better with:
Faster updates. (I'm on 108 and other people are on 122 and even 128? firmwares). More customization options such as custom font, making the notification screen black and or transparent (same with quick settings, it's black but no transparent), removing certain statusbar icons. Giving us the option to completely remove all bloatware that can be installed trough the Google Play Store.

Note 9 or mate 20 pro?

Hi guys, first of all I'd like to hear some opinions of the people who have actually used or owned the Note 9 and the Mate 20 pro. Because, long story short, a guy I know offers me to change his Mate 20 pro for my Note 9, just like that, both 6/128. Both unlocked. But I want to no if it'll be a good idea to trade my Note for his Mate. Thanks in advance.

I have the Mate 20 pro and my wife has the Note 9. I prefer Mate 20 Pro as it is faster and has better performance. Battery life is substantially better on the Mate 20 Pro. However if you really want the Note 9 for the S-Pen then get the Snapdragon version
I've traded my note 9 for the mate 20 pro.... Mate pro is performance wise waaaaaaayyy better
I was on s9+ before, and looking for note 9, but after checking some technical details, I saw that the only real difference between note 9 and s9+ was the spen... (camera is the same) no real evolution and design is not really "soft and clean" on note 9. I choosed mate 20 pro and love it for his design and technical capacity.

I had the note 9 since launch for about 6 months then went to the mate. I've never looked back, the mate feels way better in hand, performs much faster, more fluid, awesome phone.

This will be a summary based on Youtube reviews and in-depth articles coming from popular tech portals such as Android Authority, GSM Arena and XDA Developers.
In terms of design and built quality both of these devices are very eye-pleasing, each having its own unique look. The Redmi Note 7 Pro impresses with its glossy gradient color finish (Aura Design) which results in a more premium look and feel compared to the Realme 3 Pro which has a polycarbonate back that looks nice due to its S-shape pattern (3D Speedway Design). Here is where the Redmi Note 7 Pro has the upper hand due to its Gorilla Glass 5 back which has a better protection against scratches than the polycarbonate back found on the Realme 3 Pro. Because of the way it's built the former feels better in hand and more solid than the latter, giving the impression of a true flagship experience. Although it remains only a matter of preference as far as design is concerned, still the Redmi Note 7 Pro is the one which offers a more premium aspect. The buttons feedback is quite good on both devices. They have a fair amount of "click" to them and behave as expected. The Redmi Note 7 Pro is equipped with splash protection thanks to the P2i nano-coating, while the Realme 3 Pro claims to have some dust and splash protection as well, although we have no information about its rating since it has not yet been disclosed.
Both devices have very reliable fingerprint scanners on the back which are quite consistent and hardly ever fail. And despite the hype around UD fingerprint scanners, it's actually a plus to have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on these devices since they are much more reliable and much faster than the former ones, and there is also the possibility of applying a tempered glass while having the ability to use the fingerprint scanner in the same time, which is something that cannot be achieved with UD fingerprint scanners, although there are some tempered glass manufacturers which are already developing a type of glass that also works with in-display fingerprint scanners, but the price will be quite high and we aren't sure about their reliability either. It's a shame that the trustworthy rear-mounted fingerprint scanners are slowly being replaced with UD fingerprint scanners, but I digress...
Moving to the display quality both devices have very decent panels with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, good viewing angles, color accuracy, crisp image quality and same size. But due to the different calibration mode the media viewing experience and sunlight visibility is slightly better on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. And as far as the notch is concerned, the dot-notch on the Redmi Note 7 Pro and dewdrop-notch on the Realme 3 Pro look equally nice with minimal intrusion. On the other hand the Realme 3 Pro has thinner bezels compared to the Redmi Note 7 Pro giving a better screen-to-ratio, however the downside of this is the fact that it is more prone to accidental touches on the sides. Also there are no screen-bleeding issues to worry about in both cases.
In the chipset department both devices are equipped with the very best hardware currently found in mid-range smartphones, and the performance is so good that it's literally no different from a true flagship performance as far as overall experience is concerned when it comes to basic tasks like calling, messaging, browsing and so forth. The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 675 SoC which is equipped with the newer and more powerful Kryo 460 CPU which gives a higher overall score in benchmarks, and the Adreno 612 GPU which performs very well in most situations and even in more demanding scenarios such as heavy games which require more power, while the Realme 3 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 710 SoC which is equipped with the older Kryo 360 CPU, but with the more powerful Adreno 616 GPU which offers a better gaming performance. However, as far as day-to-day experience is concerned both of the devices perform more or less the same. The Snapdragon 675 SoC is built on the 11nm-FinFET technology while the Snapdragon 710 SoC is built on the 10nm-FinFET technology which in theory should give a slightly better power efficiency. But since the Kryo 360 CPU (2x2.2 GHz/Gold Cores) on the Realme 3 Pro is clocked slightly higher than the Kryo 460 CPU (2x2.0 GHz/Gold Cores) on the Redmi Note 7 Pro, both of the devices will have more or less the same power efficiency as the battery capacity (4000 mAh for the RN7Pro and 4045 mAh for the RM3Pro) is the same for the most part with negligible differences. The Snapdragon 675 SoC on the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with the upgraded Quick Charge 4+ technology, while the Snapdragon 710 SoC on the Realme 3 Pro comes with the standard Quick Charge 4 technology. Something to keep in mind as well. The China 6GB/128GB variant of the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with the 18W Quick Charge 3.0 charger in the box (1h and 45m charging time from 0-100%), while the Indian 4GB/64GB variant comes with the standard 10W charger in the box. On the other hand the Realme 3 Pro comes with the VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 charger in the box (1h and 20m charging time from 0-100%) which performs really well ensuring a significantly faster charging time than you would normally get for a device in this price segment. However the Redmi Note 7 Pro is equipped with a USB type-C charging port, while the Realme 3 Pro sticks with the old micro-USB charging port which is a sure minus.
Moving on to the camera department, the Redmi Note 7 Pro blows the competition away by showing its amazing photography capabilities provided by the main Sony IMX586 sensor which is found on flagships like MI 9, OnePlus 7 Pro, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom and Meizu 16s. The 48MP 1/2" large camera sensor ensures a great low-light performance thanks to the Quad-Bayer array with its pixel-binning technology which increases the overall exposure, sharpness, detail, color accuracy and dynamic range. The Realme 3 Pro is equipped with the Sony IMX519 sensor which is found on flagships like Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, OnePlus 6T and Oppo Find X. Although its 16MP main camera sensor is capable of clicking very good photos, it falls short when it comes to low-light performance due to its smaller 1/2.6" sensor, but given the right amount of light it manages to capture decent photos by using Nightscape. A more bothersome issue however is the image processing implementation provided by Realme. Because of it photos and videos end up looking very unrealistic and oversaturated with a predominant greenish tint. It very much looks like some sort of filters are applied by default when clicking photos in the same manner you would apply filters in post-processing. And the Chroma Boost mode exaggerates the oversaturation even further which completely distorts the color accuracy of the photos. I suspect Realme is trying to make up for the loss of dynamic range by doing so, yet the end result is nowhere near as you get with the pixel-binning technology provided by the Sony IMX586 sensor which captures photos with a much more natural look thanks to Xiaomi's better image processing implementation. As for the 64MP Ultra HD Mode on the Realme 3 Pro is just a gimmick achieved by pixel interpolation with added oversharpening, but gives good results nonetheless during daytime. Whereas the Redmi Note 7 Pro natively supports 48MP snapshots which can be captured by using the PRO mode. The 960fps Super Slo-Mo Video on the Realme 3 Pro is also a software gimmick since the Snapdragon 710 chipset is not natively equipped with such a feature, but it's nice to have it anyway. However overall video quality is better on the Redmi Note 7 Pro which provides more clarity, color accuracy, dynamic range and much better EIS. AI Scene Detection seems to work very well on both devices, while the HDR mode seems to be better on the Realme 3 Pro in some cases. But in most scenarios the Redmi Note 7 Pro manages to bring back detail from shadows without blowing up the highlights. However the portrait mode is absolutely stellar on the Redmi Note 7 Pro, and with the help of GCam you could achieve astonishing results which are on par with many high-end cameras. Although the edge detection could be better.
Something important to note here is the upgraded Spectra 250L ISP present in the Snapdragon 675 which provides even better image processing compared to the standard Spectra 250 ISP present in the Snapdragon 710. As far as the secondary depth sensors are concerned, they have more or less the same performance on both devices, but due to the different image processing on the Realme 3 Pro the photos captured with this device end up having more background blur. On the other hand the Redmi Note 7 Pro has a Dual-LED flash, whereas the Realme 3 Pro has a Single-LED flash.
Speaking of low-light photography, here is where the Redmi Note 7 Pro excels by achieving amazing results using the manual long-exposure found in the PRO mode. I will share a SOOC photograph below captured by Nilesh Jaybhaye (XDA Forums) with the Redmi Note 7 Pro which shows the true potential of the Sony IMX586 sensor.

This is absolutely incredible! It shows just how far smartphone photography has evolved. Normally such a shot could only be achieved with a professional high-end camera, and the fact that you can now obtain such amazing results with a mid-range device such as the Redmi Note 7 Pro is nothing short of phenomenal! Great value for money? A resounding YES!
As for the night-mode implementation I must say I'm actually surprised... When there's enough light it performs even better than GCam's night-sight in terms of highlights conservation, sharpness and overall exposure. However, it seems all this is achieved at the expense of detail loss which can be clearly seen once you zoom into the photo. And here is where GCam's night-sight excels by preserving more detail, but on the other hand failing to impress when it comes to highlights conservation (street lights and luminous signboards are completely blown out), while sharpness and overall exposure fall short as well. MIUI's night-mode implementation is one of the best I've seen so far. It's almost on par with Huawei's night-mode processing, but still there is room for improvement when it comes to detail preservation. The Sony IMX586 sensor has a lot of potential and with the proper night-mode implementation it can do much better than this. But GCam's night-sight is absolutely stellar when it comes to extreme low-light situations.
I would like to see Xiaomi work harder towards polishing a more refined night-mode implementation. The one developed by Realme isn't bad either, and in some situations photos shot with Nightscape manage to preserve even more detail than the photos shot with Xiaomi's night-mode.
Now coming to the front-facing camera, both devices perform very well during daylight. The 13MP Omnivision sensor on the Redmi Note 7 Pro can achieve good results given the right amount of light, but struggles in poorly lit scenarios where it disappoints. Here is where the 25MP sensor on the Realme 3 Pro excels and manages to give amazing low-light results putting the Redmi Note 7 Pro to shame. Because of this the face-unlock is much more reliable and performs better than the one found on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. But Xiaomi has already promised to bring improvements in this department so it remains a work in progress.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro is equipped with an IR blaster which is not present on the Realme 3 Pro. However the latter is equipped with a newer X15 LTE modem providing faster download speeds up to 800 Mbps, while the X12 LTE modem found on the Redmi Note 7 Pro provides download speeds up to 600 Mbps. The Realme 3 Pro is also lighter than the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the former weighing 172 g, while the latter weighing 186 g. This will be a summary based on Youtube reviews and in-depth articles coming from popular tech portals such as Android Authority, GSM Arena and XDA Developers.
In terms of design and built quality both of these devices are very eye-pleasing, each having its own unique look. The Redmi Note 7 Pro impresses with its glossy gradient color finish (Aura Design) which results in a more premium look and feel compared to the Realme 3 Pro which has a polycarbonate back that looks nice due to its S-shape pattern (3D Speedway Design). Here is where the Redmi Note 7 Pro has the upper hand due to its Gorilla Glass 5 back which has a better protection against scratches than the polycarbonate back found on the Realme 3 Pro. Because of the way it's built the former feels better in hand and more solid than the latter, giving the impression of a true flagship experience. Although it remains only a matter of preference as far as design is concerned, still the Redmi Note 7 Pro is the one which offers a more premium aspect. The buttons feedback is quite good on both devices. They have a fair amount of "click" to them and behave as expected. The Redmi Note 7 Pro is equipped with splash protection thanks to the P2i nano-coating, while the Realme 3 Pro claims to have some dust and splash protection as well, although we have no information about its rating since it has not yet been disclosed.
Both devices have very reliable fingerprint scanners on the back which are quite consistent and hardly ever fail. And despite the hype around UD fingerprint scanners, it's actually a plus to have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on these devices since they are much more reliable and much faster than the former ones, and there is also the possibility of applying a tempered glass while having the ability to use the fingerprint scanner in the same time, which is something that cannot be achieved with UD fingerprint scanners, although there are some tempered glass manufacturers which are already developing a type of glass that also works with in-display fingerprint scanners, but the price will be quite high and we aren't sure about their reliability either. It's a shame that the trustworthy rear-mounted fingerprint scanners are slowly being replaced with UD fingerprint scanners, but I digress...
Moving to the display quality both devices have very decent panels with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, good viewing angles, color accuracy, crisp image quality and same size. But due to the different calibration mode the media viewing experience and sunlight visibility is slightly better on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. And as far as the notch is concerned, the dot-notch on the Redmi Note 7 Pro and dewdrop-notch on the Realme 3 Pro look equally nice with minimal intrusion. On the other hand the Realme 3 Pro has thinner bezels compared to the Redmi Note 7 Pro giving a better screen-to-ratio, however the downside of this is the fact that it is more prone to accidental touches on the sides. Also there are no screen-bleeding issues to worry about in both cases.
In the chipset department both devices are equipped with the very best hardware currently found in mid-range smartphones, and the performance is so good that it's literally no different from a true flagship performance as far as overall experience is concerned when it comes to basic tasks like calling, messaging, browsing and so forth. The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 675 SoC which is equipped with the newer and more powerful Kryo 460 CPU which gives a higher overall score in benchmarks, and the Adreno 612 GPU which performs very well in most situations and even in more demanding scenarios such as heavy games which require more power, while the Realme 3 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 710 SoC which is equipped with the older Kryo 360 CPU, but with the more powerful Adreno 616 GPU which offers a better gaming performance. However, as far as day-to-day experience is concerned both of the devices perform more or less the same. The Snapdragon 675 SoC is built on the 11nm-FinFET technology while the Snapdragon 710 SoC is built on the 10nm-FinFET technology which in theory should give a slightly better power efficiency. But since the Kryo 360 CPU (2x2.2 GHz/Gold Cores) on the Realme 3 Pro is clocked slightly higher than the Kryo 460 CPU (2x2.0 GHz/Gold Cores) on the Redmi Note 7 Pro, both of the devices will have more or less the same power efficiency as the battery capacity (4000 mAh for the RN7Pro and 4045 mAh for the RM3Pro) is the same for the most part with negligible differences. The Snapdragon 675 SoC on the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with the upgraded Quick Charge 4+ technology, while the Snapdragon 710 SoC on the Realme 3 Pro comes with the standard Quick Charge 4 technology. Something to keep in mind as well. The China 6GB/128GB variant of the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with the 18W Quick Charge 3.0 charger in the box (1h and 45m charging time from 0-100%), while the Indian 4GB/64GB variant comes with the standard 10W charger in the box. On the other hand the Realme 3 Pro comes with the VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 charger in the box (1h and 20m charging time from 0-100%) which performs really well ensuring a significantly faster charging time than you would normally get for a device in this price segment. However the Redmi Note 7 Pro is equipped with a USB type-C charging port, while the Realme 3 Pro sticks with the old micro-USB charging port which is a sure minus.
Moving on to the camera department, the Redmi Note 7 Pro blows the competition away by showing its amazing photography capabilities provided by the main Sony IMX586 sensor which is found on flagships like MI 9, OnePlus 7 Pro, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom and Meizu 16s. The 48MP 1/2" large camera sensor ensures a great low-light performance thanks to the Quad-Bayer array with its pixel-binning technology which increases the overall exposure, sharpness, detail, color accuracy and dynamic range. The Realme 3 Pro is equipped with the Sony IMX519 sensor which is found on flagships like Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, OnePlus 6T and Oppo Find X. Although its 16MP main camera sensor is capable of clicking very good photos, it falls short when it comes to low-light performance due to its smaller 1/2.6" sensor, but given the right amount of light it manages to capture decent photos by using Nightscape. A more bothersome issue however is the image processing implementation provided by Realme. Because of it photos and videos end up looking very unrealistic and oversaturated with a predominant greenish tint. It very much looks like some sort of filters are applied by default when clicking photos in the same manner you would apply filters in post-processing. And the Chroma Boost mode exaggerates the oversaturation even further which completely distorts the color accuracy of the photos. I suspect Realme is trying to make up for the loss of dynamic range by doing so, yet the end result is nowhere near as you get with the pixel-binning technology provided by the Sony IMX586 sensor which captures photos with a much more natural look thanks to Xiaomi's better image processing implementation. As for the 64MP Ultra HD Mode on the Realme 3 Pro is just a gimmick achieved by pixel interpolation with added oversharpening, but gives good results nonetheless during daytime. Whereas the Redmi Note 7 Pro natively supports 48MP snapshots which can be captured by using the PRO mode. The 960fps Super Slo-Mo Video on the Realme 3 Pro is also a software gimmick since the Snapdragon 710 chipset is not natively equipped with such a feature, but it's nice to have it anyway. However overall video quality is better on the Redmi Note 7 Pro which provides more clarity, color accuracy, dynamic range and much better EIS. AI Scene Detection seems to work very well on both devices, while the HDR mode seems to be better on the Realme 3 Pro in some cases. But in most scenarios the Redmi Note 7 Pro manages to bring back detail from shadows without blowing up the highlights. However the portrait mode is absolutely stellar on the Redmi Note 7 Pro, and with the help of GCam you could achieve astonishing results which are on par with many high-end cameras. Although the edge detection could be better.
Something important to note here is the upgraded Spectra 250L ISP present in the Snapdragon 675 which provides even better image processing compared to the standard Spectra 250 ISP present in the Snapdragon 710. As far as the secondary depth sensors are concerned, they have more or less the same performance on both devices, but due to the different image processing on the Realme 3 Pro the photos captured with this device end up having more background blur. On the other hand the Redmi Note 7 Pro has a Dual-LED flash, whereas the Realme 3 Pro has a Single-LED flash.
Speaking of low-light photography, here is where the Redmi Note 7 Pro excels by achieving amazing results using the manual long-exposure found in the PRO mode. I will share a SOOC photograph below captured by Nilesh Jaybhaye (XDA Forums) with the Redmi Note 7 Pro which shows the true potential of the Sony IMX586 sensor.

This is absolutely incredible! It shows just how far smartphone photography has evolved. Normally such a shot could only be achieved with a professional high-end camera, and the fact that you can now obtain such amazing results with a mid-range device such as the Redmi Note 7 Pro is nothing short of phenomenal! Great value for money? A resounding YES!
As for the night-mode implementation I must say I'm actually surprised... When there's enough light it performs even better than GCam's night-sight in terms of highlights conservation, sharpness and overall exposure. However, it seems all this is achieved at the expense of detail loss which can be clearly seen once you zoom into the photo. And here is where GCam's night-sight excels by preserving more detail, but on the other hand failing to impress when it comes to highlights conservation (street lights and luminous signboards are completely blown out), while sharpness and overall exposure fall short as well. MIUI's night-mode implementation is one of the best I've seen so far. It's almost on par with Huawei's night-mode processing, but still there is room for improvement when it comes to detail preservation. The Sony IMX586 sensor has a lot of potential and with the proper night-mode implementation it can do much better than this. But GCam's night-sight is absolutely stellar when it comes to extreme low-light situations.
I would like to see Xiaomi work harder towards polishing a more refined night-mode implementation. The one developed by Realme isn't bad either, and in some situations photos shot with Nightscape manage to preserve even more detail than the photos shot with Xiaomi's night-mode.
Now coming to the front-facing camera, both devices perform very well during daylight. The 13MP Omnivision sensor on the Redmi Note 7 Pro can achieve good results given the right amount of light, but struggles in poorly lit scenarios where it disappoints. Here is where the 25MP sensor on the Realme 3 Pro excels and manages to give amazing low-light results putting the Redmi Note 7 Pro to shame. Because of this the face-unlock is much more reliable and performs better than the one found on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. But Xiaomi has already promised to bring improvements in this department so it remains a work in progress.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro is equipped with an IR blaster which is not present on the Realme 3 Pro. However the latter is equipped with a newer X15 LTE modem providing faster download speeds up to 800 Mbps, while the X12 LTE modem found on the Redmi Note 7 Pro provides download speeds up to 600 Mbps. The Realme 3 Pro is also lighter than the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the former weighing 172 g, while the latter weighing 186 g. realme 3 is a crap device.... no one in their right mind, gamer or not gamer would choose the realme 3 over the redmi note 7. even the realme name is a knock off ... come on, be real. its like someone making new shoes and calling it "nite" and then doing a comparison to real nikes and expecting people to take them seriously. only idiots would choose the realme brand over xiaomi.

Lol I upgrade from RN5Pro To RealMe3Pro

Having a Note 8, I tested an S10+ 1TB for a week and didn't like it.

I've been always a Samsung Note user.
Since the first Note made by Samsung, I had most of the Notes. I basically like it's king-sized screen.
At the beginning, the Note was the smartphone with the biggest screen of all, so I bought it even though I didn't use the S-pen.
Lately I've been thinking on switching my Note 8 for the Samsung S10+ (similar screen size, but noticeable shorter and without s-pen (which I barely use), so I just went out there and bought the 1TB version.
Well, the word to describe my experience was: deception. I really didn't find any noticeable differences between the usage of the Note 8 and the S10+, other than cosmetical features. It makes sense as the Note 8 was (a couple of years ago) Samsung's flagship, so it should have enough processor power to still be a useable smartphone (as it is) nowadays.

I didn't get the (what I call) 'WOW effect'. I only could appreciate the S10+'s performance running Antutu, where the S10+ of course almost doubled my Note 8 (31k points versus 16k I think).
The 'ultrasonic fingerprint reader' featured in the S10+ was convenient because it's located in the front screen (rather than the backside as is located in the note 8) but that was it. I didn't find it faster than the Note 8's fingerprint reader. I still find faster the Note 8's iris reader. I'm super-happy with the iris-reader as it can see even through my glasses and even mirrored sun-glasses.
I also thought that, with 1 terabyte of capacity, the S10+ could make longer super-slow motion videos, but no way. Just 2 seconds of super-slow-mo, just as the old Note 8.
So, in my opinion, the S10+ wasn't worth the thousand bucks I paid for, so as I had problems with the charger not functioning properly, and somehow disappointed by the lack of what I call 'WOW effect', I decided to return the phone and get a refund. I think I will wait to see the next Note 10...

Hey, well I have both too, the exynos note 8 and snapdragon s10+, the only thing I love from the s10+ are the battery life, in my note 8 that has a 87% battery health lasts 4hrs sot and the s10+ gives me more than 6hrs sot. Other thing good is the selfie camera it looks great on the plus, the principal camera in my opinion looks very similar (I haven't tried yet the night mode). Besides those two things the note is really great. Heck is the phone I'm using right now.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro or Realme X2 Pro

Help me to make a decision what phone I should buy for my wife.
I like both phones and read and have seen a lot of reviews on the net and YouTube. Both phones looks great and have great performance even the camera looks stunning on both phones.
But I really don't know what phone to choose and what you can recommend me.
Which phone have the best performance, camera and battery.

Even I've thinking about this in regards to my Mate 20 Pro, but I think I'll keep this one even though I love the 90hz

To consider as well is IP rating, wireless charging and slightly more compact format for the late 20 pro (if you can call 6.4' compact)
think the mate 20 pro the better choice for non tech user, EMUI should be more friendly and the camera should produce better results for point and shoot..
