Odin fails on userdata.img [SM-A102W] - Samsung Galaxy A10 Questions & Answers

Here's what the ODIN log says:
Code:
<ID:0/008> Added!!

<ID:0/008> Total Binary size: 3553 M

<ID:0/008> carrier.img
<ID:0/008> vbmeta.img
<ID:0/008> userdata.img
<ID:0/008> FAIL!
Meanwhile, on my phone, it says
Code:
SECURE CHECK FAIL : (VBMETA)
What the hell is going on??
Other information that may be helpful:
I haven't OEM unlocked it -- there's literally no option in developer settings, even after following every single tutorial under the sun to get it to a T.
Any help would be much appreciated.

i think the vbmeta that is included inside the firmware is not samsung official......are you trying to flash a custom rom?
And yes its cause of the bootloader being locked thats why you cant flash an unofficial binary

[Q] Clockwork mod not taking

Hi,
I am trying to install a custom ROM on my phone. I have the i9300 version and I am following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...covery-clockworkmod-touch-6-0-3-2-gt-t1719744
I am using the version attached, even though it looks a little old. I have done nothing to the phone before this so it is a stock OS.
I have booted in to download mode and flashed using odin, Odin says everything went ok and does a restart:
<ID:0/008> Added!!
<ID:0/008> Odin v.3 engine (ID:8)..
<ID:0/008> File analysis..
<ID:0/008> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/008> Initialzation..
<ID:0/008> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/008> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/008> recovery.img
<ID:0/008> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/008> RQT_CLOSE !!
<ID:0/008> RES OK !!
<ID:0/008> Completed..
<ID:0/008> Added!!
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
<ID:0/008> Removed!!
<ID:0/009> Added!!
After this I try to boot in to recovery mode and it is not the version I see on the video and there is no touch. The Rom I choose will then not install correctly. I guess that its not the clockwork mod, any idea on what I am doing wrong?
Thanks
-Howard
In the end of the guide there is:
"Stock Recovery being reflashed after a reboot?..."
May be You have stock recovery after reboot?
And have You tried Samsung toolkit? http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/samsung-galaxy-s3-unified-toolkit-v8-0-t1703488
Hi,
Just tried that, same issue. It's like it can't get root. No errors thrown and odin seems happy and reports it's "passed"

You need to be more precise:
1. What's your device (If I remember correctly, it is a 4.0 I won't advance further to give false information)
2. What rom are you trying to flash
Upon receiving those informations, we can better help you.
1 . my device - yp-gi1cw ( international version ) / samsung galaxy player/wifi 4.2
2 . my rom - The rooted ROM of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1884071
Ive flashed a kernel sucsess but now the rom
still the same problem

1. There are newer tar's here, but that won't help.
2. Are you able to boot into Downloadmode or System /ROM?

GT-I9205 Hard/Soft Brick? Bootloop

Hi
I have a GT-i9205 which I used to have rooted with megakat (I think) which I gave to a friend, I was given it back in a bootloop state & i would like to try and fix it if possible. Can someone help with the information below?
Boot = Set Warrenty Bit: Kernal & forced reboots
Recovery= Recovery booting Set Warrenty Bit: Recovery & forced reboots
Download Mode: I can enter it & flash but nothing takes effect, I flash CWM recovery or philz_touch_6.48.4-meliusltexx & the process shows pass in odin without errors but i cannot boot into recovery's/stock rom (I9205XXUDOA1)
When device is connected windows recognises it in download mode & is showing in device manager under USB controllers as Samsung mobile USB CDC composite device.
I also tried to flash PIT for i9205 aswell with I9205XXUDOA1 in PDA

What's your intention? Do you have a custom rom and want to flash stock rom to get the device to repair center?
