LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

Hello, thank you,
I have a Moto X Play XT1562 single sim with 16gb of storage and 2 GB Ram!
What I've tested so far:
Call, WhatsApp, everything works without problems. The phone runs stably and smoothly without and with gapps pico. The LineageOS camera does not work at all. The Open Camera app and the Motocamera app work so far very well for pictures, only the video recording does not work at all. The battery lasts 1-2 days with average use. And the best for me no Autofocus Bug!

I also use this twrp version

@althafvly here is my log - I have not yet installed opengapps, I have tried the calls, I don't know if volte will work here in Peru, but I don't need it.
MEDIAFIRE : https://www.mediafire.com/file/23n2sl9myisrntl/witout_gapps.txt/file
Everything works fine except:
1. Video recording does not work on footej camera 2, the app freezes and I have to restart it. I can take photos with the front and rear camera but not hdr photos, because the app freezes. There are problems when recording the video since the app freezes.
2.I have also tried the motocamera of this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/themes/mod-rom-t3983021/amp/
and there is the same problem of video recording, but HDR photos work.
3. I have tried the open camera app, and if I can see the rear camera before recording, but when recording, the app freezes.
4.I have tried the lineage camera but sometimes it works and sometimes not XD.
5. I have a 64 gb external micro sd card, which works well in the official version of nougat. But when I open the lineage file manager, I can see the SD card and its size, as well as the used space and I can see my files, but they all appear with this size: 0.00B, which is incorrect, since I have photos that they weigh about 4MB. And I can't see them.
As well as songs that I can not play, and .apk files that I can not install from the external card.
Files in internal storage, like photos and downloads, look correct.
I have used the ES file explorer app and the same thing happens.
THANKS FOR REVIVING MY MOTO X PLAY, YOU ARE THE BEST DEVELOPER !!!

I have installed the opengapps pico, and I have noticed that they slow down the device too much, but it is totally usable, it can be used as a daily rom since it is stable, and you do not see black screens every so often as it happened in LOS 16.
I have noticed that before installing the opengapps, the charging speed was 1000 mah on average, that is, the turbo power was not activated.
But after installing the opengapps, I have noticed that the turbo power is activated, now it appears in the devcheck application, 1700mah.
How strange isn't it?
I have never noticed that in your XD roms.
I'll send you the logs later.
Also when I have selected: finish the device configuration, which appears after installing the opengapps, when I select start, the system UI continues to fail, and I cannot finish that task.
Thanks brother

@althafvly here is the log after trying opengapps:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/0z6x4t0s86j3nj9/with_gapps_XT1563.txt/file
I remind you that I have the version of a single sim card and 16gb of storage(XT1563). The last official software that I had was android nougat.
The battery has a good autonomy.
Thank you.

@althafvly I have detected the following error:
The time and date after restarting the device are displayed incorrectly, this appears: 6:36 AM Saturday April 11.
First I activated the airplane mode and I restarted the moto x play and this appeared, I restarted the mxp and the same thing keeps happening.
Have a great day, friend.
But when I reboot the system, having airplane mode disabled, or wifi enabled, the time is updated correctly.
---------- Post added at 08:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:41 AM ----------
@althafvly also the nfc application does not appear in settings.

excellent work, apart from the camera/video everything seems to work, gapps 10, does not create a significant slowdown for me. excellent work.

update the recovery: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397971078
And before installing it clears: dalvik / Art cache - system-Data-Cache. And I guess you have a moto x play.

Thank you.
I tried installing it with twrp version you mentioned above and with twrp 3.2.3 but the problem is same i.e. it won't bootup and stuck on lineage animation,
and another thing i tried installing lineage os 16 on the same device but i don't know why problem is still same although i followed the correct procedure but it won't bootup and stuck on lineage animation. So can anybody tell what's the real problem?,is it with my device? Or my procedure? Because it bootup in viperos , lineage os 14 and on aosp but with lineage 16 & 17 it stuck.

I don't think it's the right one.
The TWRP 3.3.1-0 for LUX is here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-play/development/twrp-lux-3-3-1-0-t3996483
I've been using it for months and installed lineage 15.1-20190919 UNOFFICIAL with it.

Just installed the rom with Open GApps pico (ARM 10.0). A little slower than lineage 15.1. but it's working pretty good so far :victory:
1. Camera app freezes on start.
2. I installed the moto camera from the google store. Photos are working, but video recording froze the app.
Thanks a lot for your work !

I have modified the link, since the recovery of @althafvly, when trying to clear the cache, gives me an error and I had to format the cache as ext4 file system. I'm using the recovery of @OfficerJimLahey again

Nice job!
It is crazy that there was not yet 9.0 stable and there are already 10, although this ironically seems to be more stable than that of 9.0
A colleague who has worked with other phones has told me that possibly the camera problem can be solved using the source code of another rom on another device with the same CPU.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 2015 SM-J700H has the Snapdragon 615 just like the X Play. And this J7 has LineageOS 17.1 stable.
Do you think it may be possible to accommodate the camera error using something from this ROM?
Here I leave you the links of both the post and the GitHub

Download the twrp.img from twrp site preferably 3.0.20 and then install flashify and flash the .IMG file this works with no pc and only if you have SuperSU installed and root access. Hope I helped
I used flashfire on google play (free) and flashed recovery twrp.
After that, reboot in recovery and flash the rom. I had to first do a wipe/cache wipe before it installed the cm12 without issues.
Then you install gapps, reboot and be patient.
turns out i needed the twrp file of danil to work installed fine now. Upon boot i got a kernel is not seandroid enforcing . Set warranty bit: kernel then it proceeded to start booting is it normal?
Downloaded latest twrp from their page.
However I did follow the guide of how to install from another version of twrp. That did not work!
So I had to use Odin to flash the lastest twrp to my phone.
I cannot install the package as well, because is says the package is for serranoveltexx you have serranovelte
I can install the CM11 just fine.

Installing recovery_work.zip for CM12 is necessarily!!
New recovery cnahges:
Changed name from serranovelte to serranoveltexx, because my build have serranoveltexx name.
New recovery installing:
Put recovery_work.zip to Micro SD(or Phone memory)
Reboot recovery, install recovery_work.zip
Reboot recovery
And now you can install CM12.

Yes, this is message about Custom kernel)It is normal)
Bug reporting :
Phone reboots at random intervals when enabling disabling WiFi or data from status bar . Sometimes the fb messenger app can't connect to Internet while the phone can . Other issue is audio fx that cuts out every audio output when on so it must be disabled and last applications such as fb messenger notification sounds are way waaayy lower than they should be . This much I have so far . Pretty stable nonetheless
Another thing is it drains battery fast don't know if needs calibration for first time and another important thing is that if the phone sits with closed screen for too long or you were doing something hardware demanding before locking screen the phone doesn't respond to button presses for 5 minutes.
Danil if you can boost the sound for application notifications such as fb messenger and in audio calls . both are low especially notification sounds . in call Audio needs a boost cause in louder environments you can't hear anything even at max volume
---------- Post added at 07:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:15 PM ----------
Also folders are 2x2 and are small scrollable squares and there is no option to change that so yeah take a look into that also

Ok)tomorrow i'll to try fixit)
So Danil super serious bug needs immediate fix . When the phone is turned off it can't charge . It shows the warranty bit kernel error and it doesn't begin to charge . If you can fix it would be perfect
So far, I can confirm the battery drain, it does drain quite faster than stock, but it gets easily through a day with low to moderate use.
Although it's quite snappy, Youtube video playback on Chrome has the video and audio out of sync. Video moves slower.
Add-on dictionaries for other languages wouldn't list additional languages I could install work for the stock keyboard so I had to reinstall google keyboard from google play, and then it worked.
I can confirm IR Blaster works for me as well.
later edit: Don't think it's a bug but an issue of CM12 in itself, I can't seem to use the phone and camera shortcuts on the lockscreen. Although I start swiping from a corner it doesn't always register the swipe, and when I finally nail it, it sometimes decides not to launch the phone or camera, This happens especially with the camera.
P.S. Any way of disabling the need to swipe twice to access quick settings in the notification drawer? It's super annoying.
I mean other than the shortcuts in the corner. I would like to always show the quick settings when I open the notifications drawer.
P.S.2 Although I am all into this google material design, damn it has a crapload of colors, it's like a skittles UI. Wished CM had an option to stick to one-two colors max

Lockscreen shortcuts work for me . Also about colours change to a theme you like in theme engine . Google keyboard is better than the aosp that's for sure . I only use YouTube app which works great . Only thing it doesn't have cardboard mode that is compatible with phone

OH YES FINALY
AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos? What is Working ?
Wi-Fi
Hotspot & Tethering
RIL
Calls, SMS, Mobile data
GPS
Camera
Flashlight
Camcorder
Bluetooth
FM Radio
Lights
Sound / vibration
Facelock
Volte
What is Not Working ? or Known BUGS.
1) Music tracks are stucked On Listening Music, when volume buttons are pressed , while AudioFX is turned on ( i know you didn't understand this but you will get to know this when you flashed this build
2) mGerrit app FC ( same as Nougat build)
** Due to GAPPS you will find an issue with Google Account singing in***
Except this You tell Please
{{{ Please test the ROM and give me a feedback}}}
What are all Fixed till now ?
1) AudioFX FC is Fixed
2) No incall sound is Fixed

Sorry, can't see the magic. I'm glad to see a stable ROM.
Odexed, no signature spoofing. Nice addonsu compatibility. No AudioFX FCs but no sound from music app.

There is something wrong with addon.d survival. Dirty flash over clean flashed today's aokp. My addons did not survive. Is it a problem of my twrp? I use prej's.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Introduction:
This is the official Lineage OS thread for the Motorola Moto X4, codename payton.
We support all the T-Mobile, International, and Project Fi variants, as their bootloaders are unlockable, while we can't support the Verizon and AT&T variants, as their bootloaders are permanently locked.
How to install:
Boot the newest TWRP .img from the Official TWRP Project Site.
IF YOU ARE COMING FROM STOCK AND WANT TO INSTALL CUSTOM ROMS FOR FIRST TIME, INSTALL "Copy Partitions Zip" FROM POST #2
In TWRP, click "Wipe", "Format Data", then type "yes" as prompted.
ADB sideload the newest weekly
(Optionally) You can flash the newest TWRP Installer also found at the Official TWRP Project Site if you wish to maintain TWRP, though the pre-installed Lineage Recovery instance will do everything you need it to in most cases. We don't recommend or support the use of the TWRP installer, as it is overwritten on every update (will need to be re-installed every update), and has no addon.d-v2 persistence.
Click "Reboot, then choose "Recovery", this will boot you to either Lineage Recovery or TWRP depending on your choice to install TWRP or not. It is necessary to reboot between ROM flash and GApps/Addon flash due to verity/slot-swap logic.
(Optionally) Flash GApps - MindTheGApps arm64 are recommended, OpenGApps are compatible with A/B as of 09102018, but I still only reccoemend and support MindTheGApps.
(Optionally) Flash SU - you'll need to turn it on from in developer settings after first boot Lineage OS SU Addon. - Magisk works fine, though is not supported.
Reboot
Notes:
Official Lineage OS builds will not pass CTS/SafetyNet -- due to the AVB flag's "red" status. (Magisk works fine, though is not supported.)
Official Lineage OS builds ship with full treble compatibility, with VNDK runtime enforcement! This means that unlike most "ported treble" you'll see, ours is just as it would be from the OEM, and can run any GSI (yes, even Pie!) without need for hacks or additional flashable zips. We relabeled /oem as /vendor (as /oem isn't used in custom ROM's anyway). To use a GSI, flash official Lineage, then flash your GSI, it's that simple! Flashing a factory image will likely write over /oem and remove the mock vendor image. Please don't report GSI bugs here, report them instead to the GSI's maker.

Nice work, guys!
Excellent work! It's impressive that you could get this done when one person didn't have the phone. That's a good ol' fashioned hackathon.

Also happy to report that Magisk works successfully by sideloading the zip in TWRP (Data will not get decrypted when you boot into TWRP after the first boot - just hit cancel to get to the TWRP main menu > Advanced > ADB Sideload and sideload the Magisk ZIP.) SafetyNet passes too! And Google Pay works (finally!!! ...It was broken for me on stock).
Just got set up:
- AOSP firmware flash working on google fi version running 7.1
- Twrp decrypt not working with pin on the linked twrp or 3.2.1.1. Have to remove pin before booting to recovery
- videos recorded are choppy and lag during playback through camera app. I'll check when I install another gallery app but I rarely record so not a huge issue right now.
- bluetooth working well
Liking Lineage so far, especially the dark theme it seems to default to. I'll update with more as I play around with this. Thanks.
Speaker not working
Edit: seems it's just media, not phone
Just ran into an issue, speaker doesn't work with any app I've tried. There is sound with Bluetooth in the same apps. Attached some logcats.

Interesting. Working for me - tested using the Amazon Music app.
Edit: YouTube was used to test as well. However, the speaker volume level across all apps is lower than stock.

Huh, just tried and it stutters and no sound in YouTube. What model are you using and did you have Oreo already? I'm on the Google fiber variant and came from 7.1. maybe I need to upgrade to stock Oreo then flash.

But I wanted to thank you guys SO much for working on this. I see using Lineage as the long-term plan for my phone (and my wife's) but these are our daily drivers and can't afford them to be offline for long. Once it is verified solid, I will likely switch. Thank you again!

Couldn't get the ROM to work unfortunately. For some reason my phone won't boot any 9.0 ROM. I've got the latest TWRP installed but as soon as it boots a "shutting down" box appears, the phone shuts off and reboots to TWRP. The same occured when I tried GZOSP 9.X so I'm pretty sure it's not the ROM itself. Any ideas? I assume I get logs from TWRP?

I got the same issue when I flashed android pie GZOSP and sacred os 1.5.1.... I managed to backup my personal content such as downloaded rom, photos and music to my computer.. And I do advanced wipe in twrp (data, system, cache, dalvik, internal storage), then after finished all that, turn phone off for few seconds before boot to twrp again, click mount then choose storage to check if your internal memory is corrupted or not.. in my case, I used model XT1805 with 32gb storage, when I check on twrp, I have around 24gb available, means my storage is there.. Then connect your phone to the computer and transfer your downloaded rom, gapps, magisk and optional stuff like flashable moto cam, enable eis or whatever else you want.. Then install it as usual.... For me itself, took 3 times to make it boot fine without auto shut down or any errors

Tried everything and wasted complete day but of no use. Switching to some other ROM for the time being until I feel it is fixed.

Goto magisk and flash a module called "VOLte.zip"
Your problem will be solved.. Or disable VOLte..
It'll work

It did not work either way. There was no magisk module named VOLte in magisk excpet one by KR someone for south korean devices. I downloaded it from the xda site and tried flashing it as a magisk module but it did not flash giving error as not a magisk module. I tried manually through the TWRP recovery but my phone went into the bootloop.
I am surprised that before this version i was using pixel experience 9 and it worked fine. Now if i revert back to pixel experience 9 it is broken with no volte support. How could even this be possible
Tried Restoring backup from TWRP and sadly lost the volte support there as well. Why would the developers release out such a thing without testing. Just a question.?
Is this rom compatible with Magisk?
Pls anybody give a quick review of the rom

Installs without any problem at all
I had been using Lineage OS for many years. The Lineage 17 (Android 10) did not function for me.
I tried Pixelexperience for the first time yesterday. Install was easier than Lineage . Everything seems to work. No problems to report.
A big thank you to the developers. You have done great work!
this rom is ultra smooth than pixel experience (android 9) but only problem is network issue....very weak signal and slow internet.....can someone please help me.... regarding this matter

I can confirm that both 4g and wifi connections are VERY slow in this rom. Like almost dial up level, took me 5 mins to download a 12mb app.
It's a shame since other than that, the rom is amazing.
