Lineage Recovery is a minimal recovery that works.
Guide:
1. Unlock your bootloader and disable AVB (Guide Thread)
2. Go to download mode
3. Put the TAR archive to AP slot in Odin and click start.
4. Reboot to recovery via recovery key combo.
Magisk (ef9d077c) is included. To flash it, use Apply update - > Choose from root, then go to .builtin folder.
Working:
Standard recovery functions
ADB root shell access and sideload
External SD card access
Userspace fastboot aka "fastbootd" (use Advanced -> Enter fastboot or "reboot fastboot")
Side note: Use flash.jesec.io to sideload. (Sources).
Not working:
Encryption/Decryption (Internal storage NOT accessible)

great job!! wish everything works in future updates!

Good job!!!Userspace fastboot looks more convenient for flashing firmware.

Back to development?

wonda sells SM-G9810 but they say bootloader is locked...

Thanks

My english is not good.
My phone is SM-G9810,i did all 4 steps, but when i entered the recovery mode after all steps,it was still samsung official recovery mode, not Lineage Recovery mode.
I am sure that bootloader is unlock and I also flashed the vbmeta_disabled.tar file(but i didn't know whether this step worked or not, when I finished flashing the tar file,my device rebooted into RECOVERY mode automatically but it didn't prompt "You have to reset your device to factory settings" this tip,i did reset to facotory settings manually)
please help me,thanks!
I also want to know how can I re-enable the Android Verified Boot again, thx!

Welcome back lord jesec.

Anyone tried GSI on s20?

I like it feature

Wish this worked on U1 models tho I heard they found a huge vulnerability in Galaxy's newer than 2014 hopefully someone will use that to let us unlock our bootloader

I read through forum but could not find answer can SM-G988n korea variant with snapdragon be rooted and used with sprint. I believe 5g will not work because it only supports 5g n78 and sprint uses n41. Please can someone tell me if 4g lte will work with sprint looks like a few supporting lte bands are diffrent does that matter will it work?

Sorry, I will post my question elsewhere.

I have a G988N should I choose the G9880 file to test? Considering both are Snapdragon S20 Ultra right?

Seems Jesec been busy, an semi-official Lineage on the way for snapdragon s20ies. Impressive work!

Will this root your phone or is there nothing available for that yet?
Is the zs551kl officially bootloader-unlockable and able to be rooted?
If that's the case, it would mean it's a much better phone than many of the latest flagships: sdcard, jack, FM radio, dual SIM, larger battery, stereo speakers, more complete GPS, good resolution screen, etc.

I am SO relieved to finally be able to make full backups!
The recovery didn't stick until I rooted the device (since you cannot swipe to allow system partition changes, unless you wish to be trapped in a bootloop), so if you lose yours, just reflash via fastboot it if you need it, till you got the root done.

Thanks dudeeeee lets hope this cheers some dev to do a custom rom
Hello.Method of getting the recovery working?
@GTR532 Yeah works fine, just flash it with fastboot and enjoy it.
You can link to download adb, unlock and twrp. And what stops working if you unlock the bootloader?
@GTR532 You will no longer be able to apply any of Asus' firmware updates to your phone once you unlock the bootloader. Neither via their OTA updates, nor their firmware downloads from their website. They change the product model variable so it no longer matches with the one the firmware packages check for. Though technically there are ways around that. So if you wanna do this, update your phone fully first.
I can't update the phone even if you put the firmware in sdcard?
@GTR532 No, it will fail. It's a ****-move on the side of Asus to change it, but they do it once you use their unlock app.
The recovery will then complain that the device doesn't match the requirement for the firmware package and cancel.
I haven't tried just editing that property back to the original value yet (since with an update, I'd lose my root anyway ) so I'll try that maybe at a later time.
It may be an unofficial bootloader Unlocker so that you can update via sdcard?
http://www.beritahuaja.com/2017/12/how-to-unlock-bootloader-asus-zenfone-4-pro.html?m=1
@GTR532 Asus removed the OEM Unlock option from the developer menu, so there is no way except for using their app.
Will there be unofficial unlock bootloader?

Great!!!
I guess the "Reboot EDL" feature doesn't work with Dipper, does it?
Cool.
Does it work to return full stock including original recovery? I don't want to brick my device so I better ask.

Actually the tool is able to flash a full fastboot factory image, so it will also flash the stock recovery, the problem is the arb, the tool is unable to read the arb version and if the rom can be flashed or not, so before flash it you should be sure you are flashing the right rom
For example would it work to flash Global 10.2.2 also to restore the stock recovery, or any considering that now I am rooted + twrp on custom rom? Been also on latest MIUI versions bit want to regain my stock again.

Yes the problem is not the rom but the arb, if there is not an arb problem you can flash the rom without problems
How can I find it out?

Samsung SM-G715A Successful Flash to SM-G715U1 after brick (Guide)

Wanted to share for someone who may have had the same issue as me or is looking to change the device over to the unlocked (non-branded) Firmware.

Been forever since I used Odin and dived into the forums but I was trying to unlock and unbranded the phone and maybe root, I bricked mine in Odin with the wrong Firmware.
Turns out the firmware for the 715(A) AT&T locked version isn't anywhere to be found online except a single unlegit pay site.
-First thing to note is the newest Odin version will not work for the phone at all regardless, only the mod/patched version 3.14.1_3b_PatcheD (Other versions produce "odin repartition failed" error.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachments/odin3-v3-13-1_3b_patched-zip.5158499/
Put your phone in download mode:
Remove battery and reinstall (unplugged from PC)
Press the Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power Button(All 3 on right side) at the same time and it will pop up in download mode almost immediately)
Connect to PC
Doesn't matter if you launch Odin before or after connecting.
Install the Samsung Drivers first before using Odin(Use this link or Google it) :
Download Latest Samsung USB Driver v1.7.59 for Galaxy Devices
Download the latest Samsung Android USB drivers for Windows 10 and Smart Switch. USB drivers are required for seamless connection to a PC.
technastic.com
-Secondly this is the only firmware that will work, ill probably fileshare later, who knows how long it will be available:
Select CSC: ATT
Download Galaxy Xcover Pro SM-G715U1 (ATT) G715U1UES6ATL1 in Samfw - Samsung firmware download
Galaxy Xcover Pro SM-G715U1 (ATT - United States) G715U1UES6ATL1 Q(Android 10) samsung firmware download all model, lastest, fast update, completely free and fast speed in Samfw.com ✅
samfw.com
-Forth, it stayed on the Samsung Boot screen after flashing for a long time(Good 3 minutes), unusually long but everything started up fine after that, and every boot since has been normal. (You'll Note the first sign of the change is the Samsung Logo on boot instead of AT&T)
-Forth, this will downgrade you likely ATL4 Version to ATL1/AUB6(Android 10 vs 11) However first thing I did after setup was check for updates and install, it successfully upgraded to Android 11:
11 Working fine:

By the way, if anyone wants to keep unlocked, please do not update immediately. I found it hard to unlock bootloader after its version upgraded to 9
Please take this as reference: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/sw-rev-check-fail-bootloader-device-8-binary-6.4035053/
New updates:
Different CSC of the same version (i.e. G715U1) may have different functions. The point most noteworthy is that XAA did not have a dual sim manager. But ZTO does. (XAA is for the AT&T North America version and ZTO is for the Brazil version of G715U1, all can be downloaded from https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G715U1)
I had tried to use other versions (i.e. G715FN, combination firmware), but all failed.
Glad it did not go brick.
It is also not possible to use firmware of lower Bit/SW REV.
So hold your upgrade to higher Bit/SW REV. if you want to do some changes.
just wanted to say a thank you for this post!
I used a newer version of the SM-G715U1 firmware (2021-09-25) on my G715A...
https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G715U1/ATT/G715U1UESBBUI1
it probably didn't have any real advantage, other than that I needed fewer updates when I was done...
~R.
I recently got one of this Xcover Pro suckers for very cheap running Verizon software, I tried crossflashing to G715U1UESEBVA4 MXO since I popped my Mexican SIM card and a toast message appeared everytime telling me to call Verizon and the phone suddenly lost signal. With the new software the message doesn´t pop anymore, but I keep loosing network after 5 minutes. Someone has an idea of what could be going on? One thing that does still appear on the Odin menu is the Carrier ID set as VZW, my guess is that is what causing the network issue, but nevertheless I could be wrong, if someone has experience with this device and trying to use foreign SIM cards and is willing to lend some help it would be greatly appreciated!

Can i use flash `SM-G991U` firmware on my `SM-G9910` S21 in order to sideload ONE UI 4.0 beta?

Hello guys,
Actually, i wanted to upgrade my SM-G9910 (hong kong region) to ONE UI 4.0 beta with the Android OS 12 beta.
From this https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-one-ui-4-android-12-update-tracker/#galaxys21, this provide the
One UI 4.0 Beta recovery ROM.
And i failed to sideload any of the above package (USA) with snapdragon chip.
And i found that someone need to first flash the ROM into those stable ONE UI 3.1 version first(let say USA). then sideload the ONE UI 4.0 beta. Is this correct?
So can i flash my `SM-G9910` using firmware `SM-G991U` in order to sideload ONE UI 4.0 beta successfully later? I have tried use Odin with correct instruction to flash the ROM using `SM-G991U` firmware. but it keep failed with `<id:0/003>FAIL! (Auth)`.
And i found another thread mentioned that we cannot flash one model to another model. is this correct?

If you've done everything right sometimes it could be a bad usb port or a bad cable.

How To Guide Android 12 Root How-to (TMO converted to INTL version).

I'm by no means a developer and everything below is what I gathered online.
I came across Android 12 full OTA thanks to DA Recognized Developer mlgmxyysd and XDA Senior Member Some_Random_Username.
So I then extracted the payload.bin to get boot.img. Once I had it, I then patched it via the newest Magisk and downloaded the file to my computer.
After fastbooting the device, I could not run fastboot boot patched_image.img I kept getting errors.
So instead I risked it and ran:
fastboot flash boot patched_image.img
Then fastboot reboot recovery and kept my fingers crossed.
It worked, I'm now Tmo N200 5G converted to INTL and ROOTed.
Regular boot.img link: https://mega.nz/file/NW10hD5Q#EGyVgYuIFYui_jtk5rsR28iyHVJ79w0A_C51nhZI_SA

FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I tried flashing this on my T-Mobile, unlocked, android 12 n200 and using this stock and patched boot image crashed my device. I realized afterwards that you were running the INTL version ROM and not the T-Mobile version ROM. So that was my mistake for not reading the thread title (duh), but easily fixed with the correct boot image. So for those on the T-Mobile version, I am including the files for rooting below.
I found a link to the T-Mobile Android 12 OTA here: https://community.oneplus.com/thread?id=1599362 . I extracted the payload.bin like @radekmazur did above, then patched with the newest Magisk. Here are those files:

How is Android 12 on stock T-Mobile phone? I have another Tmobile N200 5g still in a box.
Works fine for me. I uninstall T-Mobile Play or whatever that bloatware is called. But I use VVM and the T-Mobile app so they can stay. I also need Wifi-calling and Band 41 but wasn't sure if the Intl supported it properly. But it's lighter on the bloatware than the S22+ was.
they removed 5ghz band from wifi tethering in android 12 (both in Tmobile and Int roms)
Hmmm... I'm not sure this is true @Ytube21 I still have the 5ghz band option on my device. (see screenshot)

FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK.

You can also just use fastboot enhanced to flash either TMobile or NA software to convert. I simply flashed the NA ota using fastboot enhanced and manually upgraded to 12 and switched back to TMobile software just by flashing the payload bin. No patched images required
