Display not responsive enough and SD445 feels slower than 1+6 - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
the display on Pocof1 is just not responsive enough.
Icon clicks are missed. have to press again and harder.
Scrolling is very slow. Only 3-4 list items especially noticeable on Instagram (its not that it is not smooth but just slower to scroll, bcz 1+6 is 10000 times faster)
general UI traversing also is slow.
tried on MIUI as well as PE ROM and other good roms.
Have you guys been facing this?
The effect is especially pronounced when you have used or are using 1+6 too

My brother has 1+6 but I don't see any difference in speed , I'm on PE 10 rom
Edit: my touchscreen is NVT-ts

I also have a poco and a one plus 6t
They both are very responsive to touch never notice any difference in between them myself.
I have corvus 4.0 in my poco

The corvus rom is pretty amazing I wish someone would build it for my 6T
I enjoyed the time I spent on OOS but decided to flash the 6T this weekend (Bliss rom).
To answer your question The OOS port was all I used on the Poco the first year I had it.
But recently much better Roms have come along and I have no regrets for moving to Corvus OS

Nope. No other pure android rom can offer such a great SOT times as miui. On RR im getting around 6-7h SOT without using 4g.

after posting this i tried to set both CPU & GPU governors to powersave and it worked too good! it has no lag or a little in normal tasks and battery use is so awesome! it remained on 100% so long that i thought it is a bug! i just change kernel auditors profile when i want to play or do some thing heavy!
but i am still looking for the best battery friendly rom (after MIUI)!

you have to do it using "kernel Auditor" app and your phone has to be rooted! in my vase i flashed Santhosh's CM13, GApps & SuperSU Zip to easily root my phone!
you dont need a custom kernel! although custom kernels have more CPU & GPU governors!

Did not find any bugs but I am not a heavy or experienced user. Something I cannot control: Led Light colour
Also does not support the kernel denominator or radon (installed but I could pass through the lock screen).
I installed it, being in Miui8, unlocked (officially) bootloader.

Well yes, setting powersaving CPU governor is an option, but for me it resulted in many laggs (I'm a heavy user).
Btw. this 100% happens often. But it only applies to 100% charge, after that it will drop normally.

After my tests I would say no. It's stable, but SOT was worse than on MIUI 7.

Which Oreo ROM

Hello Guys,
Could someone please tell me which Oreo ROM is good for daily use and has better battery than others?
Cheers.
You forgot to ask if VOLTE works
I've been using Nitrogen-OS Oreo 8.1 for the last 2 months and I can say it's one of the best Oreo ROMs out there right now
Pixel Experience 8.1 Check this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rompixel-experience-8-1-aosp-oreo-mr1-t3716727
Check Flashing Guide here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75428644&postcount=1280
So far, its best one when compared with Nitrogen OS & other oreo roms. I haven't faced any problems so far.
Definitely, Nitrogen os 8.
Go for it, I flashed it about 3 days ago and I just loved it. It is also very Power Friendly as well.:victory::good:

Just go for Pixel Experience as I am using it as daily driver about a month and I have never thought of changing my the rom as it is one of the best stable custom rom I have ever seen in these two years! Just got 2-3 random reboots due to incompatible GCam apps but after installing proper supported GCam, the camera become completely stable and no more reboots occured. Just go for it. Completely buttery smooth even after a month and customizations.

i used to change rom in every 2/3 day... because i was never satisfied... but for almost 1month i stuck on pixel rom...i guess there is no oreo rom with great battery backup as i am a super heavy user and i almost all the time use 3g internet and play a lots of games...but there is something magical in pixel rom...just love this rom ?
Is the Pixel ROM more close to stock Android Oreo?
Coz i checked the chain log for Nitrogen ROM and it has so much of stuff going on with it...i don't like too many customizations...more close to stock means more stable.
Also, how stable is the Camera with Pixel ROM?

Tried hard but no bug found. Stock camera works perfect but I'm using port for portrait mode that also is stable af. No fast charging on stock kernel, changed to franco, a bit better battery backup on it too, but not as smooth as it was before...
FireHound is a good option!

Why custom roms performance is not as good as MIUI?

I have seen some of the 600 series processor phones with performance in custom roms better than the stock rom.
What's going on with POCO?
I can't directly ask a developer because there is always someone against me saying ' it's his free time hobby that he is giving us time, you should not ask any question regarding his work '. Ok that's fine! But performance issue only with POCO, I don't get it.........
I hate MIUI because of it's User experience, so I search for ROMs with stock experience but I didn't find any , forget about getting better than MIUI but same as Miui's performance. It's no more snapdragon 845 phone anymore with custom roms............. Go compare with other Manufacturers..
Yeah, I kind of see what you mean... Some custom ROMs have pretty bad performance compared with stock for whatever reason. I've noticed that the only ROM faster than MIUI on Poco is OxygenOS. It's been my daily driver for a while now. Nitrogen is also quite good as far as I remember... I try to stay away from custom ROMs because of the unsatisfying performance. I only switch between MIUI and OOS now.

I have used it bro, it's really fast but the only thing it lacks is the touch response or smoothness like MIUI.
If it was I wouldn't had any complaints...

Crdroid is better than MIUI imo. Especially in the latest updates.
I'm using some magisk modules for increasing smoothness, but all in all its performance is over the top out of the box.
P.S. Hold in mind that the phones you're mentioning are probably older than the Poco.
As time goes by, devs fix bugs and embed new things even from other devices to make the phone run better. So time works in favor of the custom ROMs.

The good thing of MIUI is performance (although as i said, crdroid performs even better imo).
Smoothness is non-existent. The first month i was using MIUI i had started wandering why i bought the Poco, since my 3 year old zuk z2 felt smoother.
The lags and the stuttering are everywhere except the menus.
I'm using LineageOS and I don't notice a difference in performance in day-to-day use. Perhaps in gaming MIUI might be better, but you kinda expect that due to optimization.
Maybe because of the kernel?? Im also a fan of miui because of the custom.kernel that works great on it...
hi everyone, i am still using MIUI global rom. current version 10.3.4.
i do have interest to unlock my phone and switch to other rom. but two things in my concern, the native miui camera app and esim.
in asia, we do have one app that will use the built in esim feature , am i still getting this benefit from custom rom too?

Well regarding the native Miui camera, you can install the port on your custom rom but few features wont work such as 120fps and 240fps slow mo and few more. But all basic features will work such as taking a photo or recording video.
Sadly, No idea about esim though.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Well the only reason why one can feel custom roms to be less snappy than MIUI is because of the optimizations that MIUI has for POCO F1 for it's touch response. You must be knowing about touch response issue of Poco F1 and Xiamoi has done lot's of optimization not only in it's vendor files but also in the MIUI for Poco itself to rectify the issue as much as possible. And this is something AOSP roms or any other roms lack because mostly AOSP roms are universal made and minor tweaks are done to make it work with a certain device so level of per device tweak is pretty less.
Now if you directly compare the performance of a custom rom (I am using Pixel Experience) with MIUI, both open apps at almost the same time and both are fluid. I don't care about the benchmarks because that really doesn't define anything related to personal experience.
So despite knowing this factor, I went for custom rom because I felt like Poco F1 does not deserve that crappy and cheap MIUI experience which is on offer. And Pixel Experience has been a great rom till date.
I think you should give a try to custom roms such as Oxygen OS or any good AOSP based rom such as Pixel Experience (my recommendation) or Nitrogen OS. Also Lineage OS is very good but its too much basic for me.
I just cant agree with this topic, I can feel that every custom rom developed here was amazing. I noticed the most biggest improvement for custom rom was it feel so snappy compared to stock rom. And i managed to squeeze more battery life than stock rom. But one thing stock rom for sure to win was, its picture taken using its stock camera app. I know we can use google camera, but when using aosp camera it the quality was too bad, so much difference from stock miui camera.
What about .eu miui stable releases? They have rectified most of the annoyances of miui global. Anyone tried it?
If someone from asia (india) uses .eu miui rom, will everything work properly without any region related issues?

Maybe stop flashing random Magisk modules and other crap which interferes with the system.
I've never had any issues with MIUI, it was always smooth and performing very well out of the box.

I have to assume that you cannot read English very well.
I mentioned that i use magisk modules that IMPROVE my experience with my CURRENT ROM.
I am getting better performance and better SOT than with MIUI.
To clarify things, I was using MIUI with locked bootloader and without any modifications.

Help picking Between Custom ROMs.

Hello respected community,
I use the 6 gig 128 gig F1 varient and I recently updated to the 0.6 version of MIUI 11. Since then I have been facing major heating, lag and battery life drop. All major. And so I'd like to switch to a custom ROM asap. I understanding asking for a best ROM ain't right because there are a lot of variables to consider. I hate the animation management on MIUI 11 as it just sparks here and there at most time.
I have I list of things that would need to be checked when switching to the ROM. I'm hoping this will make it easier for you guys.
Gaming performance, Smooth Animations, Decent SoT and Minimal bugs so as to use it as a daily driver.
If needed, I can install a custom Kernal with the ROM too. I also would like to experience the new gestures of Android 10 with it.
I guess the ones that I came across were Oxygen OS, Pixel Experience, Lineage OS, Nitrogen and Havoc. Which one might be best suitable for me from your experience?
Thanks a ton in advance. Much appreciated.
AOSP:Evo x Havoc
Lineage:CRDROİD
Miuiort MiRoom ,MandFX or official MiuiPro
11.0.6.0 is an incremental update to 11.0.4.0 which has its own flaws.

Considering ur requirements 11.0.5.0 is an all rounder : root it, change kernel, reduce animation scale to 0.5x by going into developer settings.
Now talking abt custom roms, as u knw devs have limited resources, feedback, data, sample rate, testing etc as compared to xiaomi's.
I am not saying xiaomi produces flawless roms bt u think over the above points to decide.

I have to say that both ROMs are great.
Havoc gapps version gives a more premium feeling (for me at least).
I'm using it with Optimus drunk kernel and my gaming experience is great ( i play injustice 2 and mortal Kombat 11 ) without any drawbacks in everyday life.
P.s. I've tested almost every option and that's what I liked the most, but bare in mind that if you don't try for your self you'll never know.
wait for couple of days,
official lineage will be released, flash it
u can use a custom kernel to improve performance

Thank you for your responses. CrDroid looks really promising as of now to be honest. I'll keep you guys updated on my move when I make it.
Cheers to you all! ??

OOS port ROMs vs AOSP/Pixel/LOS ROMs

Hey brother,
Can frequent ROM users please throw some light on. their expeirence with OOS port ROMS vs AOSP/LOS/Pixel ROMS.
1 opinion is that OOS ROMs are very smooth as seen on Oneplus Phones.
2nd opinion is that, OOS is a ported ROM and with developers working actively on AOSP/Pixel/LOS roms they are better than ported OOS ROMS.
what do you think?
I need a ROM on which i can settle down.
Need a good stable and smooth rom... need calll recording too....
I felt that with LOS based and AOSP based roms, they tend to stutter and lag after a few weeks..
especially noticed that while using gesture navigation.. for a few days it works well byut after that, the app switching glitches and single swipes dont work well. they tend to over fling to several apps past the most recent.
Currently I am trying OOS Stay the **** home edition...
I don't use gesture based navigation so I can't comment on that but I found crDroid to be as fast months later as on day one. I stayed with crDroid 5.9 for 4 months and currently on crDroid 6.4 for 2.5 months.

No I have only used crDroid till date. It had all the features I needed. Lots of customization, excellent battery backup, solid performance, very stable and practically bug-free, smooth UI. Tried PUBG 2-3 times and it ran fluidly. Not a mobile gamer though.
Only complaint in AOSP ROMs is that Hotspot is limited to Wifi N 144Mbps even in 5GHz band mode. In MIUI and other ROMs based on it the full 867Mbps Wifi AC is utillised. This was true in Pie ROMs as well.

Can't stand MIUI. Thinking of giving OOS a try.
Everyones need is different. OOS port ia really really good and stable. Doesn't feel like a port at all. But cannot use substratum. With Oxygen os.
I hardly use miui. Ads turns me off.
Evox, pixel experience are my choices wrt aosp. Nitrogen OS and unofficial aospa arr also good.
I almost flash rom everyday or once in two days.. ?
