I've a MI4C unusable at home, his sensor his an IMX 258, do you think it's possible to install it on redmi note 3 pro ?
What will happen camera will not be understand by software ? it's possible for me to add drivers or something on it to make camera working ?

@jordandroid64 Well actually that might be possible. First of all check if you can stick Mi4c camera module to the kenzo's motherboard.
If it'll stick then you might need libs and kernel support but don't bother of it now.

Provided that the new sensor can work with the current hardware, building a kernel that supports it would be fairly easy!
Hey, so I've try, unfortunately that's impossible: sensor is bigger in redmi note 3 pro and has more pins.
I've try with k3 note, same size and same number of pins but opposite sense.
Redmi note 4x have some time an IMX258, and the pins looks like to be at the same number if someone have one, or one camera, maybe we could change with it... IMX 386 from Honor 6X is maybe compatible also.

Everything seem okay until i install custom rom Andriod 8.0, i cannot use my fp, i Figure out that mine has goodix
So anychane in the Furture, andriod 8.0 support goodix fp?!
If you don't know FPC fp is sensor come from Switzerland whereas goodix come from HongKong ( or Taiwan i don't remember)
I afraid it just like redmi note 4 mtk ( support for short term) and note 4x snap ( support for long time)
I am not rich, i buy the highest version just because i think it will have best sensor but i'm wrong.

I've read that the modded Google cam is the best camera for custom roms possibly even better than stock MIUI as there are settings that you can tweak to get the best possible photo quality however there is a huge catch, it doesn't work with Omnivision camera. Well technically, it still works but you don't have HDR which is pointless as the app was modded for HDR to work.
There is a huge chance that you'll get Omnivision if you buy brand new as newer note 4x batches no longer comes with Sony or Samsung camera. Hopefully the October 6 camera commit by highwaystar on Lineage fixes this.
Yes, you can flash MIUI camera ported from MI A1 but HDR and few other features does not work and yes there is camera quality degradation which is very common on non-nexus/pixel devices as there are proprietary libs/drivers that's closed source.

I don't know about LCD. And yes oreo roms has issues with goodix sensor right now, but devs are trying hard to get it fixed and eventually it will.
Doesn't matter where you buy it, it's 100% random you can get anything.

I think Redmi Note 7 although has OV13855 it's from another lens manufacturer, but not sure tho.

I have poco x3 nfc (Surya) and i'm currently using Xiaomi.eu 12.0.9.0
I want to update to Miui 13.0.1.0 but I have heard that it has issues.
Like front camera or ultrawide or speakers gets dead and then you have to "Reball" the cpu to fix this issue.
Is it true?
I have been using this device for about 2 years now and never had any issue.
Is miui 13 update really faulty and bricking devices?
