I'm not sure if this is going to flash probably this way on BS 2 Pro, as this contain extracted partitions and there is a flash script 'flash_all.bat' which I made to flash those partitions.
So 'flash_all.bat' should be executed to flash this.

Is there by any way I can get the navigation buttons at the bottom as like Android 10 or earlier than 9? the gesture based Android 9 is annoying and not able to lock the background app as we do on other android systems.

There are may bugs in joyui11.
Navigation buttom array can reverse in fullscreen display which located settings. (select mirror button)
Lock the background app is possible. view recent app(press home button or slide bottom up) and long press app what you want to lock.
Then, you can see lock icon

Sorry. I forgot to mention - I need to do this for stock android 9 on BS2. Once I downgrade from 10 to 9.
The older joy ui navigation menu sucks. It offers only gesture navigation and no option to lock apps. There is no 3 button navigation like other android platforms.

Thanks for the trick. I think there must be a way to persist this setting.
If I remember correctly, there are apps on store to change dpi on non rooted phone, which runs some adb commands to change the dpi value and make it to persist across reboot.

or using fluid navigation gestures app

I use the stock dialer and it the default one, although I have truecaller installed along with.
Regardless, I managed to fix the issue.
I did the following:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
wipe/factory reset
with nothing installed, dialed *#*#1027#*#* and got the ota update app to popup.( I had the dpi set to lower than stock before reset, not sure that could be a reason for incompatibilities. )
Thanks, I will come back if I get into issues again with the downgrade.

I don't think truecaller cause this.
I successfully downgraded from android 10 to 9. Installed truecaller and tested the dial code, it instantly popsup the update software.
Thanks for documenting the steps. Infact, I used the updated ota image from KM7 thread - SKYW2003090OS00MP6.
I will work on to root this device now and keep it on 9 forever. No more miui based Android 10
Update:
warning: flashing SKYW2003090OS00MP6 directly broke my sensors.
Had to flash the MP3 update.zip in the opening post to keep the sensors working. Thanks for the zip.

How to: Enable Power Saver Mode

For those that don't know, here's how to enable Power saver mode on the vzw model.
You need:
Root
Root browser/ root explorer/ etc.
Navigate to system/ customize/ CID/ Default.xml. scroll about 1/3 of the way down until you find "def_hide_ui_powersaver" >1</item<item> and change value to "0".
Reboot device, then go to home screen, long press to add widget, select shortcuts, then down to power saver. This will put a shortcut to the power saver menu that is hidden from us.
Note that you must mount R/W or the edit will not work. This will not enable the quick setting or for it to show up in the regular power options menu but this will work for now.
Good luck
Thanks to aer0zer0 for pointing me in the right direction.
I can verify that this can also be enabled on unrooted devices as well. Credit goes to user l7777 in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-10/help/verizon-version-missing-options-t3376634.
For the powersaver mode, try this from a computer with working ADB
Code:
Code:
adb shell "settings list secure | grep power"
If it returns something that looks like this
Code:
Code:
hide_ui_user_powersaver=1
Then try
Code:
Code:
adb shell "settings put secure hide_ui_user_powersaver 0"
This does not require root if done from a computer. It will require root if done from a terminal on the device. This is what works on an M9 running Marshmallow. It may or may not work on the 10. You can also try
Code:
Code:
adb shell "settings list secure"
To get a list of all the settings.

Must have missed that one. I went through that post a couple days ago. Guess this will work for those that can't or don't know how to setup and use adb

If it is like the M9 on marshmallow, after making that edit, if you factory reset it, the menu option should appear in the standard menu. its alot easier to either put it in as a shortcut, or use xtended settings, and add it to the power menu, or gravity box, and add custom quicksetting tiles (1 of which being battery, it will also show battery temp and mAh remaining).
Once we get a deodexed based, or even a stock odex flash, we can make those edits prior to flash and it will be in the menu as normal
edit, i also believe if you edit the next line (120) def_hide_ui_user_powersaver and set it to 0, this is what will enable the menu on factory reset
Note that this survives reboot and/or power recycle. Using the adb approach for unrooted handsets, got it working on both my own and a test device.
UPDATE: So far as I can tell, the latest OTA to 1.19.605.22 breaks this ability.

I think the only way to do this is to write to \system; so for those who don't want to flash a custom ROM or write to \system, it's out of reach for now.
And especially galling because the 10's on all the other carriers have the feature. Verizon kills it.
@andybones has it in the stock deodex base, but if you are working off of the odex base, the easiest way is probably gravitybox, and using the QS tile to toggle it (still requires root). Just make sure you are using systemless xposed to not touch the system partition as @hgoldner pointed out, if you need it.
by stock base, i mean OTA to 1.19.605.22

You can change the power saver mode settings if you install the apk from apk mirror http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-corporation/power/

This modification can be done using Magisk, without editing /system. You need to cache-mount the edited default.xml using Magisk, and Magisk mount the patched SystemUI.apk and HtcPowerManager.apk from @andybones' deodexed stock ROM. HUUUGE thanks to @Captain_Throwback for helping me figure this out and tolerating all-too-frequent stupid mistakes getting to this point, and, of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing efforts of @topjohnwu in creating Magisk in the first place.
I will post detailed instructions if someone is interested.

You have to follow the steps in post #2 before installing the APK does anything. The APK just makes it so that power saver mode settings doesn't crash.

I believe he is referencing the fact that not all of the available settings are shown. From screenshots of the book on the HTC one there should be settings for what power saver does.
CPU
Display
Vibration
Data connection
Useful settings. I would like to be able to turn down the processor without turning off data.

You'll likely need a custom kernel for that, which means root access and either unlocked bootloader or S-OFF. Once you're in that boat, you'll need Magisk to clear Safety.net. It's not otherwise doable on pure unrooted stock. FWIW, if you are rooted, you can use @flar2's ElementalX kernel which is quite good, especially when used with the helper app allowing you to tweak all settings.

Thx for this tool, not just for the sake of it, but for the sake of us newbies being able to learn some basics from reading a batch file as well.

I have the Samsung drivers installed and USB debugging on, however, the bat file stays on "Waiting for device". Normally I would get a notification granting my comp privileges for the debugging but no dice.

OK, so I am dependent upon WiFI calling at work, and I did this, but maybe it's because I have an 11 month old or I don't know what but I must not have saved the BAT file correctly. anyway, I broke my WiFi calling.
- EDIT: it works if I turn it on with the quick icon - but if I go to settings, and click more networks, then click wifi calling it just crashes settings every time. any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,thank you very much, because my application supports xposed mode and normal root mode, so i need to release the GoogleDoor and Lib files in sdcard for injection into the system_server process to complete the functional patch, the program does not contain malicious code, you can decompile to confirm, according to your feedback Log, I modified the program, the current xposed mode does not need to click to install, activate the module can be used after the restart, this is the beta version, does not support all types of app to be converted into vr mode, the current upgrade to the 19 version, this version had repaired your feedback.

Phone did not react to nothing, home button, power button, nothing. seems dead.
After a while adb via usb started working, and i issued a reboot from there.
Next, i've got a bootloop; i disabled xposed and the bootloop did not went away!
Fortunately i've had a complete twrp backup...
I tried to understand what it did to my system app, but the source on github is not available.

Why no suports phone root
After “put your device into cardboard“ just a black screen with the settings symbol, but not clickable + difficulties exiting the app.

Could you include two key options.

2. To adjust FOV.

[Root] J320A/J320AZ alternate method, without Kingroot!!

**does not yet work for 7.1.1**
Using a PC to root seems like moving backwards compaired to a 'one click' apk. but we're already at the PC to flash eng_boot, plus this new method is so much faster...so here we go
Features:
SuperSU 2.82
Init.d
Wifi fix
Flashlight fix
Issues:
For the wifi fix I just copied an edited J320a build.prop
So J320AZ users will see J320A in about device, and will have to reassign notification sounds. (Hope to fix it in the future)
Needed Files:
Odin
Root_J320A.zip
Procedure:
1. Unzip both files.
2. Run Odin click the 'AP' button.
3. Navigate to Root_J320A/bin and select sm-j320a_Engroot_601PJ2.tar and press "Start" (make sure NOT to check re-partition)
4. After it completes sucessfully, leave the phone hooked to the pc... and then wait, wait a good 2 or 3 minutes after its booted.
5. Once 2 or 3 minutes has gone by you can navigate to the Root_J320A folder.
6. There you'll see root.bat, double click that let it do its thing.
6a. If at any time during the script you see "adb out of date. killing..." hit the x to close the window and restart the script.
*This may work on J320AG models but make sure you check oem unlock from dev settings first... and let us know how it goes
Enjoy

March security patch
Hi man, this method support the march security patch, or are still in january security patch
I tested on AQD2 so it'll work on AQC1 too.
I assume it'll work for all 6.0 updates we get.

I suggest you put 'root' in the tile, otherwise google cannot find it.
I googled 'j320a root', google only links to ashyx's post which doesn't... well maybe only mine phone.
I am new to this root bit.
Possibly I have done something wrong. I read your instructions carefully and quit didn't understand where the unzipped files should go. Do any of these have to be placed in the phone's directory?
Failed on my AT&T SM-J320A
I wonder if it has anything to do with the new update pushed out recently
@JeffF73
Run Odin and Click ap.
Navigate to the directory where you unzipped root_j320a.zip.
In that folder you'll see a bin folder, inside that is sm-j320a_Engroot_601PJ2.tar, which needs flashed to the phone.
Once that's complete, let it boot and wait.
Then run root.bat

Hello DamienMc Thank you for your reply and help. I figured it out. I had to put my phone in "Download Mode" by holding down Volume Down, Home Button and Power button while booting. Then I was able to use Odin without failing. This solved all my problems thank you

Yes, that has selinux set to permissive as well, although there's no real difference. The build.prop differences are noticable tho...I plan on doing an update to this, just have to figure out how to tell if it's A or AZ from adb

Yes, it works for QC1. However, you may need to replace build.prop in /bin from QC1 with WiFi fix before root.
I did notice that after root, the contents of /Android/data folders in both internal storage and external sd card are hidden from PC. Before root, both are visible from PC. Any thoughts about what cause the changes?
Will this work on July security patch?

Thanks, I just needed to install this to use adb to uninstall an update I did to System UI because it would continuously crash.

Probably the eng_boot we use, it breaks the flashlight and wifi passwords too... it does work on j320a July update, so I assume it'll work on j320az update too

Reflash CSC as well, that'll wipe your device but fix your problem.
Are you sure you waited long enough after the phone booted before rooting?
If at any time during the script you see it say "adb server out of date. Killing..." something is wrong. You can x the command prompt and do root.bat again.

This was the first time i ever tried to root my phone and i followed the instructions located here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j3-2016/how-to/root-samsung-sm-j320a-galaxy-express-t3573628
Well my wifi wouldnt save any passwords , flashlight was broken and my ATT J320A would always want to boot in to recovery mode. I thought i was screwed!!!! Then i seen one link in the thread to this thread where Kingroot was not needed.
I opened Odin and gave a shot and then ran Root.bat file, and the device rebooted wifi and flashlight were fixed and best of all my J3 was now rooted!!!!!
Still working on getting rid of that annoying pop up but all is good, thanks so much for this root and fix from the other thread.

@james2ya If you are talking about the pop that either says something in the order of "Unathorized activities where made" go to the play store, download and install SecurityLogAgent Fix, Open it up and click "Disable Securitylogagent" then restart phone when it asks. This should help get rid of that popup.
works great for me! now i just need a custom rom. is it possible to install trwp on j320a?

[GUIDE] [Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tool][6.4] Automatic remove System apps(rootless/locked)

Hi All !
Some of us do know the application a long time but others don't. Therefore this small GUIDE.
Removing system apps without root/unlocked can be done in a few ways like :
manually : with an ADB list and described HERE huge thnx @SirTAVARES
automatic : if you don't like to do it manually, you can use the ADB/Fastboot Tool which will do the job for you.
The XiaomiADBFastbootTools isn't explained in depth afaik and can do a lot more but I'll focus on the removal of those system apps.
HOW TO :
NOTE : do try some apps (not all at once) and see if the phone boots again - if you would have a problem you can always restore the onces you removed or perform a factory reset to restore all apps (as they are not really gone )
0. enable developer options to enable USB debugging ( go to settings/about phone/tap MIUI version 7 times to enable dev. options -> then go to settings/additional settings/ dev. options/enable USB debugging )
1. download the latest version HERE
2. run the .jar application
3. you'll get this screen
As you can see, the tool will start by default in ADB. You'll see a bunch of apps you could de-install under the Uninstaller tab.
If you're sure which apps you want to de-install just check the ones you want and tab UNINSTALL
google where is the nearest gas station
TIP : try one first like Google Chrome f.e. and see if it works
EXAMPLE : Removal of Google Chrome :
Once removed you can check if the app is gone of your home screen apps or under settings/installed apps/tap the 3-dot sign to show all apps/ search for ''chrome'' and the app should be removed.
4. if you want the removed app(s) back, just tap the Reinstaller and check the ones you want to re-install. Easy right !
Once re-installed your Chrome app will appear again on your home screen/app list
5. TIP : before removing, check the app name under settings/installed apps/show all apps/tap on an app and tap the Ⓘ to get the app info
Other functions :
1. As you probably noticed besides running in ADB, this tool can easily boot into Fastboot, Recovery, System or EDL.
When booting into Fastboot you can see some other functions you can apply. Be aware of the risks applying things under fastboot !
2. Very useful option is the possibility to push, pull ,... apps/folders with FILE EXPLORER. Just tap OPEN and you can easily perform some actions afterwards.
(ignore the KB sizes - once pulled you'll get the right folder/apks )

Nice tuto....will debloat for sure...

This is what you have to install to be able to run .jar files. OP just assumed everyone has java installed (I would too to be honest) and didn't mention it.
I have installed the updated java and am trying to open the windows 10 boot tool and it refuses to open. Yes I did upzip it but the program will not open. Any help please?

What version you installed? I recommend that you install 6.5.1:
https://github.com/Saki-EU/XiaomiADBFastbootTools/releases/tag/6.5.1
That is what I downloaded...Win version. I unzipped and then tried to open but it does not work.

You don't need unzipped. Download the version .JAR an run it. I made this way
Evidently I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. Nothing opens

Lets go from begining:
- First thing that I did, I uninstalled all versions of Java;
- Second, (I made this way, you can jump this step) - reboot my laptop;
- Third, I installed the latest version (in this moment is version 8, update 221) - I installed both 32 bits (x86) and 64 bits (x64);
- Fourth, run the tool (just download .JAR version) and clicked with right botton for open with Java.
When I right click nothing asks to open it in java
If you have java installed, then just a double click on the XiaomiADBFastbootTools-6.5.1.jar is enough.
Opens in 7z

Probably you made 7zip as default app. Right botton, "open with...", choose Java
