[PROBLEM] [BRICKED PHONE] Doogee N20 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently because of an error when it was flashing my phone got bricked. I tried to solve the problem by doing these steps:
1. I made a backup of another Doogee N20 phone (working phone, same firmware version as mine, but it has a locked Bootloader (If someone wonders why I don't unlock the phone's Bootloader directly, it's because the phone is not mine. )
2. I formatted the phone via SP Flash Tool.
3. I flashed the backup preloader.bin via Miracle Box (When I flash it via SP Flash Tool, at the end of flashing gives me an error) .
But when I try to flash everything except the preloader via SP Flash Tool, it gives me this error: STATUS_SEC_IMG_TYPE_MISMATCH
I read in this thread (forum.hovatek.com/thread-439.html) that the error may be because of the preloader.bin which was taken from a phone with a locked Bootloader.
If so, is there anyone who knows where I can get the latest version of the stock ROM? (Version of my firmware: DOOGEE_N20_Android9.0.0-20200228), (On the internet I found only the old firmware version, and it is not supported by this phone).
If not, tell me what I can do!
Thanks in advance!
Modified:
I fixed the problem:
1. I found an updated Stock ROM on internet (rom.oscarmini.com/doogee-n20/).
2. I formatted the phone via SP Flash Tool.
3. I flashed the preloader.bin via SP Flash Tool.
4. I flashed the entire Stock Rom except preloader.bin via SP Flash Tool.
5. Done (Boot normally).

First you need to select the scatter file of the downloaded ROM in SP Flash tool! (If you not choose the scatter file before going to format, it fails!) After that go into format section and tap start.

Need help unbricking a soft bricked phone

Guys, my cousin owns a Symphony Xplorer W92 running Android 4.2.1. Yesterday, when I tried to install CF3D Driver(via Chainfire) it turned off and got bricked. Now it gets stuck in the boot logo whenever I try to turn it on. I tried resetting it via recovery menu but it doesn't work. Also it doesn't have a "Downloading Mode" so I can't use Odin or anything to flash the stock ROM.
Currently I possess its stock ROM but it's not in a .zip format so I can't flash it from SD Card.I archived the ROM in update.zip but it doesn't work.
Hey, if you have the stock rom why not flash through MTKDroid tools?
And were you using custom recovery naki Stock recovery running?
Vai apnake Thanks. Ami Stock ROM e use kortesilam.
I was running Stock ROM and also is it possible to flash Cyanogenmod or any other custom ROM in this phone?
MTKDroid Tools doesn't detect my phone nor does SP Flash Tool
Nah man. Couldn't find any custom rom or custom recovery for w92. You should just stick to stock with Xposed. Development dekhe next time phone kinio.
And did you follow all the correct steps to connect to MTKdroid tools?
If you want I can help you through the process.

I'd really appreciate it.
Note : I accidentally cleared eMMC, can it be the cause of my phone not getting detected by SP Flash Tool or MTKDroid Tools?
If its not getting detected just by SPFlash, then you're doing it wrong but if it's not being detected even by MTKDroid tool then check your drivers. If they're okay then I guess your eMMC has done it. Some android roms keep their important files in the eMMC. So maybe this stock did something similar and now it's just a blank phone. Just like if you format your C:/ partition on PC it's blank and the phone won't boot or work.
I suggest now you have to play dumb in the symphony customer care if you still have warranty. :v Cause if you don't have custom recovery they have no way to know you were a rooted user or you ****ed the phone up.
Go play dumb. :3
Symphony Customer care: Sir, phone is bricked. Did you root?
You: What is root?
Symphony Customer care: Never mind...

Leagoo kiicaa mix

Hi all happy new year, I have a Leagoo kiicaa mix did the firmware and got a brick, how to restore.Thank you
mine lasted 3 days then when i turned it on it was bricked i got it into recovery mode but thats it it wont connect to SP flash tool any help would be great thanks
Turn off you phone download sp flashtool, install all the required drivers and the stock rom from needrom.com
Then open spflash tool extract the stock rom select the recovery file from the folder on the sp flash tool click the arrow then connect your phone via cable switched off wait a couple of min your phone would be flashed
Always flash the old stock rom not the new one because it blocks all the unauthorized things such as installing twrp
If you want to flash twrp download twrp.zip file and the magisk or the SuperSU zip switch off the phone open sp flash tool and select the twrp.recovery file and click the arrow key it would start install then connect your phone your phone would be flashed
Tips: after reinstalling the stock rom if your device got bricked do a couple of restart cause the stock recovery checks the app if not your phone could get soft brick so do this step
Also if you flashed the twrp but still showing stock recovery close spflash tool and just select the twrp file.
I think it should come off help
Sorry because of my poor english

Bricked k8 plus (3gb ram indian variant)

hi
so i have a Lenovo K8 plus 3 GB ram variant. Let me explain what happened first.
I unlocked my device's bootloader to flash the patched boot image for magisk root, then this orange state sign started showing up eerytime i booted up. then when the latest update rolled out in march, i decided to relock the bootloader and then update my device. did it and then a red state sign showing up accompanied by bootloop (it said something like rollback kernel too). so I formatted the whole thing via sp flash tool and downloaded the stock rom.
now when i try to flash it, preloader flashes FINE, recovery flashes FINE, but when it comes to md1img it shows this error: STATUS_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER (0xC0010007). I tried flashing all the files individually to find the cause of the problem and see exactly which particular flash file was causing the problem. results are as follows.
[STATUS_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER (0xC0010007) ]- this error was displayed while flashing these files - md1img, md1dsp, md1arm7, md3img.
[ STATUS_SEC_IMG_TOO_LARGE (0xC0020005)] - only popped up while flashing the oem image.
when I exclude these files from the queue, the rest files flash fine.
In short, I have a bricked phone which i am unable to flash via sp flash tool.
Thanks in advance

How to Unbrick Lenovo K8 Plus 4GB
Hi All
I tried many stock roms and many versions of SP flash tool but none helped me to unbrick my lenovo k8 plus (4gb ram).
I was trying to downgrade it to Naugat from Oreo but it shows same error every time.
Error is (SP Flash tool version latest 5.18)
" Error_Status_Sec_Insufficient_Buffer( 0xC002004B)
[Hint]:
Verified boot is enabled.
Please download signed image (md1img-verified.img) or disable verified boot."
Plzzz help same problem
Enabled verified boot ...how to disabled
Same problem my lenovo k8plus
Enabled verified boot ...how to disabled
You need to use "Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant" instead of SPFlash tool to flash and you will be good to go. You can get the tool from the Lenovo official website.

Try with Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant. I too have bricked my phone... but I've successfully started my phone using this tool. you will get official signed ROM from here.
you can use LMSA tool to rescue,90% sucessfully ,don't use splashtool beacause it's many error if you choose wrong version
Had the same problem. Can confirm Lenovo's tool sucessfully recovers ohone from bricked state. A lifesaver!
Downloaded from https://lenovomobilesupport.lenovo.com/br/pt/downloads/ds101291-rescue-and-smart-assistant-lmsa
then updated to version 5.9.2.4 from inside the app itself

This answer have 2 solutions
1 st solution - using SP flash tool
download android oreo, ANE-L01C432B144 – 8.0.0.144 – Europe
https://www.getdroidtips.com/huawei-p20-lite-b144-oreo-update/
flash stock ROM via SP flash tool
https://flashingguide.com/huawei/how-to-flash-huawei-p20-lite/
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 nd solution - using fastboot (adb, terminal, manual, harder, but less likely can go wrong if you follow steps)
https://unofficialtwrp.com/huawei-p20-lite-root-twrp/
just skip step of rooting.
but you need unlocked bootloader:
https://unofficialtwrp.com/how-to-unlock-bootloader-on-huawei-phone-2019-working/
when you flash twrp you need to flash stock ROM via TWRP recovery
download android oreo, ANE-L01C432B144 – 8.0.0.144 – Europe
https://www.getdroidtips.com/huawei-p20-lite-b144-oreo-update/
open TWRP recovery and transfer downloaded stock ROM in phone and flash via TWRP
https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-a-custom-rom-using-twrp-recovery/
and it should do just fine

sorry if answer look too hard to understand, just follow instructions on links and my answer how to do it, and it will work

Question Brick my Lenovo y90 anyone can help?

Hi, I was intending to restore my lenovo y90 to it's original state after root by flashing back the stock boot.img to boot partition by using flashboot and lock back the bootloader by command fastboot flashing lock after that using QFIL to flash the stock cn rom. Everything was going well till after flashing of the stock CN rom the screen show firmware corrupted and boot to fast boot mode, from there it kept stuck in fastboot and when I tried to unlock the bootloader using command fastboot flashing unlock it show FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed')
fastboot: error: Command failed. Now I am stuck with unable to flash stock rom or install any recovery. When I choose recovery will only boot loop back to fastboot. Very much appreciate any help.

You shouldn't lock back bootloader before downgrade because google implement anti roll back. As what I read in China website once you lock back you cant downgrade anymore. There only one choice is to bring to service center. There only one qfil firmware for y90 which is 563. So I assume your version is higher than 563. Only unlock bootloader able to downgrade and flash qfil
I don't believe that is how the anti-roll-back feature works @darkidz555 . Considering the phone launched with android 12 the .563 firmware should fix his issue. You can find the QFIL package here and it appears you have to pay 20 rmb for it. Maybe someone already has it and would be kind enough to offer it here on xda?

I own y90 and this is how google anti rollback work for y90 and I already have qfil firmware you don't need to pay you just go to zui website and forum all the Chinese people share around the firmware and have step by step guide for root , downgrade , qcn , persist and etc in their WeChat group with all the firmware sharing inside the group as well. The Chinese people explain very well regarding this issue ONCE YOU LOCK BOOTLOADER AND FLASH QFIL THERE NO WAY TO SAFE YOUR DEVICE BECAUSE OF GOOGLE ANTI ROLLBACK. maybe Lenovo did something themself that why they never plan to release y90 for global.

I am now stuck in fastboot mode with no wipe data option, and yes I have purchase the firmware for 20rmb and went through a lot of Hussle to download it as it require Baidu account as it use the cloud service. I would like to attached the firmware to help others as well but the files are 8gb zip file not sure how to attached it here
Use Google drive or make an account on Androidfilehost to share the firmware. I notice you posted that you have a Sahara error when trying to flash through QFIL, if that is the case, then you need to install the correct Qualcomm drivers. Upload the firmware first, that way it can be reviewed to see if it is in fact for an L71061 (Y90).

The real way flash y90 QFIL is using flat build select ddr file and select context.xml and then download. But since you lock your bootloader if possible try to unlock before QFIL else you will be hard Brick. Y90 can't be flash using normal meta build and select ddr and rawprogram0 and patch0. You must flash using context.xml. I've been back and forth downgrade and update multiple time can say more than 20x.
Thanks for the advice but the problem for me now is that I cannot unlock boot loader. Previously when boot loader was unlock I can easily flash the ROM.

That what the info I get from Chinese y90 WeChat group. If you lock your bootloader then flash QFIL firmware while bootloader is lock there no other way to unbrick need to bring to service center because of google anti rollback. One question when flash QFIL firmware did it fully flash until system ownself reboot or Sahara error while flashing. If you fail to flash then it might have a chance to unbrick your device. If fully flash then even then Chinese y90 group also no way to unbrick. Your last choice is either reboot to fastbootd not normal fastboot is fastbootD and wipe data hope it boot else I cant help much. Try fastboot flash sn.img and then fastboot oem unlock-go again hope it help good luck
Thanks

Be it work or not work please update here at least other user get the idea.
This is nearly similar with your problem I guess chinese brand tend to make their own stuff. Lenovo did it differently by bricking your device if you flash edl firmware with bootloader lock
Back in July, Xiaomi rolled out MIUI 10 Global Beta 8.7.5 for eight Xiaomi devices. When users installed the update on their Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, they unknowingly flashed a build with anti-rollback protection enabled. Users who didn’t like MIUI 10 Global Beta found a nasty surprise when they tried to re-install the latest MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM: their phones were bricked! This wasn’t the kind of brick that you could fix by restoring a TWRP backup, flashing a new ROM, or using MiFlash to restore to a factory image. This is a hard, unrecoverable brick that requires the use of EDL mode to fix. But EDL mode isn’t accessible unless you have an authorized account, so many users were left with no way to fix their phone except sending it in to an authorized service center or paying to use someone’s account with EDL access. In this article, we’re going to explain everything you need to know about Xiaomi’s new anti-rollback protection so you can avoid bricking your new phone.

I know it is kind odd but I am on the path to root my y90... I have no ideia where to look at it. I see people commenting about chinese group but would you kindly point me to the root files needed (maybe twrp build too) not sure if there is a magisk port or whatever.
Thanks in advance

In order to root u need the china firmware and need magisk to create a modified boot.img.
Ok, I have the firmware, question is, will it work ?
I am king worried about brick my phone, do you tried that before ? did it work fine ? I ave been doing this for a while on other brands but lenovo seems to be a complete different beast

It does work but remember to enable developer option and USB debugging and unlock boot loader and not to lock it back before doing the root.

Yeah it worked, just follow the instructions in the wechat group.
Am currently rooted. Also note the Ramdisk yes or no in magisk to know whether to flash recovery or boot.img. in the wechat group the boot.img already provided for all roms released till date. Just patch and flash. Oem should be unlocked in develioer setting, then Bootloader must be unlocked in fastboot, before proceeding never lock back boot loader. As I mentioned before read the instructions carefully in the wechat groups.
