If you add this lines in Build.prop file you'll get a functional EIS:
persist.camera.eis.enable=1
persist.camera.is_mode=4
This works for every GCam.
By the way, night mode uses hdr+ parameters. Set it to 36 min and max frames for optimal picture.
To avoid forcecloses when taking pictures with that configuration (as the Pixel 3 does) you must tweak your low memory killer profile.
I am using EX Kernel manager to modify memory settings, you can use Kernel Adiutor too (it's free).

These settings are freezing night mode on front camera for me.
edit: solved. I accidentally enabled min iso in night parameters too. Somehow it conflicts with the hdr min iso if both are set.
Edit2: so I noticed my night shots are extremely grainy. I restored all to default and done a comparison of the last photo. The original settings are way better.

No mate, you only have to change min and max frame in hdr+ to 36, be sure hdr+ is activated.
More frames = more quality. Do not change nothing else, just what i mentioned min and max frames to 36. As the app developer san1ty recommends.
It does not decrease picture quality, it increases it. Been testing this app since it's released.
Picture taken with 36 frames and 1sec of auto exposure correction (optional this last one)
Gcam_6.1_36frames_sample
Those noise and pink/green dots that your image shows aren't related to my settings, you changed something else or the hdr+ image processing, went wrong.

OK I see, but I did do exactly as you said and those are the results. I will recheck my settings
Default hdr photos are crashing for me. I tried several configurations, including the recommendations. With or without the memory tweaks, my camera crashes. The cause is 36 frames, if I lower it, no problems. Any messing with frames makes my camera freeze on portrait mode or, crash on a standard hdr photo.

EIS doesn't work because in custom ROM EIS is disabled, so if you want to enable it below these codes(without *) in root/default.prop that's it now in gacm EIS works.
*****persist.camera.eis.enable=1
persist.camera.is_mode=4*****

That's weird. Or maybe it's rom related i think.
I tested the app in LineageOs (latest build 25-11) and Resurrection Remix (latest build 26-11). I haven't found issues here, except that i am unable to take pictures with deactivated HDR+ (i mean, the normal mode).
Gcam 5.18 (modded by Urikill) is working fine for you?
If you set the auto exposure correction for HDR+ to x3 you can get really impressive night shots with zero noise.
*This camera needs to be fully configured as Nexus 6p, otherwise will have focusing problems.
I personally use Urikill 5.18 as my default camera (for everyday/work use), but its important to set the auto exposure correction to x3, hdr processing will take more time, but the image quality is really amazing.

The original thread of the first posts and discussions here.
Hello! With the plethora of GCam ports out there (thank you, devs), my very objective is to make all necessary features work on our phone, all the while making things simple and clean possible. In contrast with the existing ports that have a lot of settings to tinker, I am aiming for a no-config port that simply works well. Please note that I am not a developer per se; you see, this was just a hobby that I am doing on my spare time and it occurred to me one day that I want to share my efforts to everyone else.
This port is designed and is working well on my Nokia 7 Plus (TA-1046) running Android 9.0 Pie. For the most part, this needs no extra config after installation. I have, however, provided several extra settings that you may play around to your desire.
If it works on your non-Nokia 7 Plus device, that's great! If not, please do not request fixes and/or features and instead head over to this website and look for one that works well on yours. ALSO, if you are into a lot of mod settings, this may not be the port for you. Again, check the link for the other ports.

GCam_6.2.030_N7P_test1.3 (final) (Original post)
Changelog:
- Toggle to directly save Portrait shots to /DCIM/Camera (thanks san1ty): a lot of people wanted this feature, so here it is. But be warned: I haven't done any extensive tests to verify if the portrait bug from previous versions still occur here; so far it's okay. Use at your own risk.
- Toggle to use custom lib (from @cstark27): from the custom libs I've tried, Sav ZA v3 is so far the best in my opinion. It significantly reduces black crush while keeping noise reduction etc the same as stock lib. However, this also reduces overall contrast and/or saturation. It's your choice.
- Enabled DCI-P3 color space: I honestly don't know what this does, but I hope enabling it brings some sort of improvement.
- Fixed washed-out RAW photos (thanks for the tips @Urnyx05): RAW (.dng) photos now won't have washed out colors straight out of the camera.
Again, If the app is lagging or acting weird, just clear app data and follow the installation instructions described in the previous versions.

F.A.Q.
What are the GCam settings for?
These are extra features on top of the original Google Camera app for Pixel devices that give more options for the user to play around. Later versions have a "Gcam settings info" page under "About", where each additional setting is briefly described.
What are the best settings?
I made this port such that no special configs and adjustments are needed for the most part. You can change toggles like Location if you want, of course. Furthermore, I have included the GCam settings for additional settings in case anyone wants to do some extra modifications.
Why is it that when I zoom in completely, the display stops midway but the final photo is in fact zoomed?
Why is it that when I double-tap-to-zoom, the final photo seems a bit shifted compared to what is displayed?
I have answered it here.
Why is the max megapixels for front camera only 4MP while the stock camera can go up to 16MP?
I honestly don't know why, but I'm certain that only the Nokia Camera can tap into the full potential of the sensor. Even 3rd party hardware analyzer apps would always declare 4MP. But it produces some seriously good photos for a 4MP size, don't you think?
Why won't it install in my device?
This could be for a couple of reasons: (1) this was developed for Android 9.0 Pie, so no assurance that it will run on lower versions; (2) there could be conflict with an existing GCam app so in that case, uninstall that first before installing this. If both weren't the case, a reboot might help. Or in worst cases, a hard reset may be done.

Have you tried clearing data/reinstalling the app? Or tried rebooting your phone? The most serious case I have experienced so far was when the app started crashing at start that I can't use it at all; this happened after repeated switching between slow motion. A single phone reboot fixed it, though.

Night SIght working well.
I found a bug though. If you enable classic photo viewer and you take a shot then delete it in the app, it only delets the photo in the app's photo gallery, but it will not be deleted in the google photos app

That's because the classic photo viewer is only capable of local, phone-only actions. When the photo is already uploaded via the auto back up in the full Google Photos app, deleting that photo using classic viewer will only delete the phone copy and leaves the uploaded copy untouched; so when you open Google Photos, the still-there photo is the cloud-only copy.

None of this has night sight working .. ?
Hello.
Thanks for your work.
The flash in night mode works with the 2.3 ?
Nope.

WHAT'S WORKING
All photo (HDR+, Portrait mode, Panorama, Photo Sphere) and video things
Night sight
Tracking autofocus
Motion photos
Photobooth
Lens Blur
Slow motion
Auto lens distortion correction on faces (for front camera)
Playground (AR stickers): download here
Launching from lockscreen
DOWNLOAD
GCam_6.1.021_N7P_test2.3
Changes vs. test2.2 :
- Redesigned settings page: all port settings are now housed in "GCam settings" found at the very bottom of the Settings page.
- Fixed Night Sight with Pixel 3 AWB: Night Sight now works with Pixel 3 AWB toggled on.
- Added toggle for "Enable Lens Blur": to fix the bug where the app crashes when attempting to launch video shortcut from the launcher, turn this off.
- App now auto-restarts for every change in the GCam settings
- Pixel 3 AWB is now set to disabled by default: you can toggle it back on in the GCam settings whenever you like.
- Recolored GCam settings icons to match the app theme: also added a version info at the bottom.
NOTE: fresh re-install or "clear storage" after installation is recommended to clear up isolated cases like crashing Portrait Mode, etc.
Known issues:
- Tap-to-focus in video mode breaks autofocus; workaround is switching to other modes and back.
- Manual white balance in camera mode doesn't work, but it works in other modes; in Portrait Mode and on the front camera, it works with tap-to-focus.
- 60 FPS video doesn't work and only produces 30 FPS. I'm also not sure if our phone is even capable of recording 60 FPS in the first place.
- Some reports mention lagging of Google Photos. In my case, clearing Photos app cache did the trick, and so far it's working fine.
The very purpose of this update is for the Night Sight fix, but I figured I'd do some redesigning along the way. Hope you like it! BTW, I've been seeing comments, notably from the original thread and the Nokia 7 Plus (Global) Facebook group, that the photos with the Pixel 3 AWB comes out "very different" to what they actually see, and sometimes with a hint of red. You see, some people like the colors as what their eyes perceive, while others wanted the natural colors without the light tints (Pixel 3 AWB does an impressive job correcting WB). And as for the red colorations, I'm not sure why but I guess that's an effect of the heavy processing with the config. Again, it all comes down to personal preference: if you feel like it's being too aggressive or the red tints are quite noticeable, you can turn it off.
I'll be taking a break from this project for a while again as I'm getting off track from work and studies because of this LOL. Gotta get focused. Again, thanks for the big help everyone!

@Your effort towards this project is really appreciated, please look I not working on the quality and sharpness as the pictures produced are most times dark and too much noise etc
just wanted to let you know that your port works almost petfectly for Nexus 6P on Pie custom rom, only viewfinder in front camera night sight is up side down, but functionally perfect, and white balance settings work in every mode.
@back.rider555 good work brother .. Can you please add the all libs or at least the last 2 libs of this version of GCam (MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-based_v.1.4a_TlnNeun.apk) because its good for our N7P ..
I keep getting crashes on Google photos whenever I take a couple of photos with motion on. I tried with backrider's 2.3 version and a few other's and all of them crashed while turning on motion on Google photos. When I tried turning off hdr I works properly. Everything else works perfectly just this.
back.rider555 said:
Have you tried clearing data/reinstalling the app? Or tried rebooting your phone? The most serious case I have experienced so far was when the app started crashing at start that I can't use it at all; this happened after repeated switching between slow motion. A single phone reboot fixed it, though.

Yes, it happens with other versions from other developers too. It get's stuck when taking a couple of pictures and changing between modes, for example to selfie or nightsigth.

(Portrait/night sight) Google Camera Port Fully Working!

Hey Guys!
After trying many Google Camera ports and playing with the settings I found 1 which is pretty stable, so far everything seems to work (if not please respond and I'll update the OP).
How to install and apply my settings :
Download the app from here (Not my port, credits to the original Dev) :
Better version, quality improves but slower with starting the camera. Faster processing!
Old version, slow at processing. But starts much faster (2sec difference)
Download my config.xml (New config from 10 March) :
config for the new version (11March)
Config for the old version (10March)
After downloading both files do this :
1. Install the GCam port (like a normal apk, no root or anything is needed)
2. Copy the config.xml to /Internal Storage/GCam/Configs (if this folders don't exist, you should create them yourself)
3. Open GCam and allow the permissions
4. Double tap somewhere in the down (next to the shutter button
5. Now a menu should popup asking you for a config
6. Press restore
7. Enjoy your GCam!

In my eyes :
GCam gives richer colors and less noise (especially in low light situations)
Thanks already!
Is night sight working? I'd love to see some pictures that please! See how much it improves the quality.

And I'm interested in how she behaves in the night shooting

Here's a example of how Night sight works with GCam vs Stock Moto camera.
Stock got the watermark in the left down corner
GCam doesn't have any watermark
Both were without flash
Pretty impressive!
Is there any way I can control the shutter speed in gcam? I shoot a lot of sports and I would love if I get sharp photos with moving objects.

You can try it with mine for the G7 Plus, I can't create one for the G7 because I do not have this particular phone. The only downside could be that taking a picture is a bit slower due to the Snapdragon 632 (G7P got the 636). But in general it should be working.
Let me know if it works, if so I'll add this to the OP ^^
Thanks!
Some example photos
I have tested this mod on my new 7+ and have to say the results are very good. I tested just the Night Sight and a few photospheres as the stock moto cam is probably best for everyday use in everything else - fast and easy to handle, great picture quality. However in some situations there is not such a big improvement at night with the mod - it really depends on the ambient lights and their uniformness in the scene.
Lets see:
Round one https://photos.app.goo.gl/qnfYeXaD4fgGagNTA, https://photos.app.goo.gl/wxNK9MAqQ1ShPSXL8 (taken with phone on solid support )
Round two https://photos.app.goo.gl/2pxSHSteaE64sHoNA, https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ygc4ZsDDcNNCZEeXA (taken with phone on solid support )
Round three https://photos.app.goo.gl/ATs2x7UnAyrsJot99 (just handheld; no stock image in this case)
Round four https://photos.app.goo.gl/x9yCfcdoKbWo78Sc8, https://photos.app.goo.gl/9pzQGJa4DXgLs3hp8 (handheld)
Round five https://photos.app.goo.gl/Kif1YWhRt6bCACG99, https://photos.app.goo.gl/HL4LKe9c9yQddZk3A (taken with phone on solid support)
(first is always stock automatic, second is gcam with settings from the xml file)
I have also noticed that the camera name in google photos viewer is different for both camera apps which is very good because it allows to distinguish
And yes, the photospheres struggle with straight lines (which is to be expected, as the distortions in handheld shooting angles are substantial). Otherwise they are of better or worse quality, depends on how one looks at them - a few examples:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/PEDWhbpbWpio33G98, https://photos.app.goo.gl/ACmzBHdkgkTHXAD48, https://photos.app.goo.gl/EFhJq4zvSuCqcHji8
Regarding the photospheres I wouldn't mind if they were of higher quality even if the shooting and processing takes more time (maybe some setting?) and the file will be larger. The processing happens in the backgroud anyway.
I really appreciathe the work that was done here! :good::good:

Processing takes long because our processor will do the job, and we got a SD 6xx SoC so it will take a bit longer then a 8xx SoC. But like you told, it will work in the background
I tweaked the settings to get the maximum quality without having to wait like 10 seconds when taking the pictures. I can make it process faster, but this will be a lose of the quality, it is personal preference
If you want me to make a config like that I'd be more then happy to do so ^^

So, if you managed to extract maximum that is possible (at whatever computational cost) than I'm happy with it Personally I don't mind waiting those 10 seconds, it's not everyday that one shoots photospheres and even so you don't usually need 20 of them in one minute.
Maybe if the mod creator added some setting so the user can decide by himself if they prefer speed or quality and they dont need to load up a configf file each time

First of all, I am not the creator of this port. I clearly stated this in the OP, I just made these configs and shared the download links. If you load the config once your set up and don't have to load it anymore, unless you play with the settings and want to revert it like before.
Short :
Install apk, set config and you're all set. Next time you'll open the camera config is already loaded.
Works very good! Thank you!

[UPD] Super-Pack of Google Camera MODs for OnePlus 8 Pro!

Hello OnePlus Addicts,
Here is a Custom-Made SUPER-PACK of some of the newest Google Camera Mods available out there, which contains the work of several developers such as Greatness (Rakin), B-S-G, P.Z.D, MTSL, LMC and Wichaya.
Please, keep in mind that I am not an app developer, myself, just an enthousiastic end-user happy to share the good stuff!
DOWNLOAD (APKs + Custom Profiles): https://gofile.io/d/OCsHTd
[ LMC R15 is currently the latest GCAM Mod included in this Super-Pack ]
>>> The included XML configuration profiles are made for ONEPLUS 8 PRO ONLY! Using them on another device may result in some serious bugs, crashes, and it will definitely not bring you the same user experience... <<<
1) Just download the file above, unzip it (using the provided password), then install the apk file of your choice on your device.
2) Extract the appropriate xml configuration file, as well as its folder, onto your phone internal storage.
3) Then, just start the app, give the necessary privileges, double-click on the lower black area near the 'shutter' button of the app, it should allow you to load custom profiles. Select my xml, press ok, done!
Some of these mods come with Face Detection, Face Retouch (both Front & Back sensors), great color reproduction, low noise, excellent details (especially on the main back sensor), FHD & 4K videos @ 30/60FPS with OIS/EIS stabilization, Night Shots, Astro-Photography, Portrait and more...
However, there is still no Distortion Correction/Fix on Ultra-Wide sensor, on any GCam mod I have tried sor far actually. This might come in the future, but it seems to be quite hard for devs to implement in their respective mods. This can be fixed by some apps in post-editing anyway...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are some 'hidden' shortcuts in some of these GCam mods! For example, with Greatness, P.Z.D, MTSL and LMC, you can access the (very useful) Exposure/ISO menu by long-pressing the circle 'gallery' button on the lower-right of the main app screen, which will provide you with a choice of ISO settings, as well as Exposure choices. The lower the ISO, the better the final picture quality, but it will take more time to 'capture' your image. The same goes for Exposure; the longer the time, the better your image (and the lower iso at the same time), but you may have to be steady if you go lower than 1/10s.
A long-press on the Camera-Switch button (on Greatness Mod), on the lower-left of the main app screen, will directly bring you to the App Settings.
Double-Press the viewfinder itself will zoom 2x to what you want to shoot, and will display the Zoom Bar at the bottom, so you can finely adjust it!
There is also a 'Sunset' shortcut on the main screen/viewfinder (Greatness Mod), just above the 3 back sensors, which should theoretically bring better color reproduction and lighting to your sunsets.
Also, one personal advice when using some, if not all of these mods: You will get BETTER EXPOSURE as well as LIGHTER SHADOWS when selecting your focus zone MANUALLY (within limits of your focus zone of interest, obviously). This goes for Daylight shots, as well as Nightshots, and another advice would be to try to select either a Dark area of your image (when shooting in daylight) OR one of the Brightest zones (for example, some streetlights at night), and then take the shot. The App should then do a better job at adjusting your Exposure, Contrast and Shadows, and this will greatly reduce risks of Under-Exposing or Over-Exposing your shots. When taking snapshots of people, in case the app can't detect their face, make sure you select it manually, you will definitely get brighter, more detailed skin results. It may be one extra-step, but I personally found out that it was usually worth doing!

Hey,
If you feel frustrated by the low-light performance of your new OP8 Pro, , just give a shot to this new GCam release, with support for most recent OnePlus/OPPO (Nord, 8 / 8 Pro...) flagships, great AWB and awesome night mode.
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/Gcam7.3.018_Greatness.Build2.0.apk
I've managed to get wide-angle and tele to work perfect with our 8 Pro, as well as great quality from those 3 lenses, especially the primary one. Front cam works good as well.
[N00b m0de 0N] I made an XML that you could load to the app to get everything set perfect, so you can play with it immediately, file is attached to this thread. Make sure you have created a 'GCam' folder in your internal storage, as well as a 'Configs7' subfolder, and copy the xml file inside this subfolder. Then just load my file by double-clicking on the black area of the GCam app, near the shutter button. [N00b m0de 0FF]

You're welcome, glad if it could help.
I wish we could benefit from the macro and photochrom Aux modes with this release, but not yet. Maybe in the future

Nice to see! Kudos
Always excited to try a new GCam and Config against the stock camera. When sampling a couple captures, I am noticing a yellow tint vs stock in low light. Anyone else with the same result / suggestions on tweaking to correct for this effect?

Hi names,
Not getting any specific yellow tint in 'normal' low light on my side, except maybe in extremely dark / near obscurity which gets slightly orange (not the normal night scenery you would capture, anyway). It's definitely related to the AWB, so I suggest you try some other options in the settings if you get this yellow tint, but it might also be that the device lens cannot even "guess" the white balance if too dark to capture. However, if you don't get this yellow tint with stock, as you mention, then it's definitely something you may want to tweak in your GCam AWB settings. Good luck and please share your results with us

Thank you. However, I'm not the developer, just a user who provided the xml file
If the developer brings full support for our device's AUX modules, then I'll update my post accordingly.
That's still good of you to do. In regards to your XML file is there any way to change the grid layout to 3x3? I can't find the option anywhere

As far as I could see, it seems to work fine, but I didn't do side-by-side comparison between stock camera app and this GCam release.
Gonna give her a test drive with your settings.
Edit: some photo comparisons. I believe I've uploaded in the proper order so as to tell which camera is which.

Have to say, video in the dark compared to photo is awful on the 8pro camera, be er noticed it before , Superb in the day but at night it's pants.
Thanks for adding this..will give it a shot. Cheers
Edit: installed, working well. Will test tonight.
Never seen that photosphere before, that's nifty. Anyway to actually view them images though? Gallery just shows like half an image.
Great camera though

Hi, thank you for your feedback and for adding those pictures, interesting to compare. As you can see, contrasts are slightly boosted, which results in a bit darker photos, something you can counterbalance to some extent by adding +2 brightness in your settings. It depends on people's preference though, and I personally tend to prefer photos with more contrasts in general, which makes them look a bit more 'dramatic'.
But where this GCam will shine compared to the stock app is definitely in low-light / night-time scenarios, so I invite you to compare both apps and check the results carefully. You should be able to see how vastly superior GCam app is, in terms of noise, dark areas coming back to life, details. As some say, it's like switching on the light in the middle of the night, but better see by yourself
I have another GCam version and if this one is like the one I use it's great in low light compared to stock. It's not even comparable at how bad stock is (everything is red).

wow! looks promising! pretty nice features and settings.
one very important question for me.
are the bluetooth hi-res audio capabilities supported on this rom? (aptx aptxHD, LDAC)
Excellent, was waiting for a XDA thread for this!
Which camera does it come with?
Which GCam is it compatible with?
Any GCam version + config recommendations?
Download link not working?

This turns out to be tricky, which is why I hope that someone with more time at hands can have a look and report back here.
From the LOS thread:
Camera Notes
ANX camera is not recomended and will most probably NOT work.
To get a fully working camera try one of the gcams here.
Do not forget to copy&load the associated xml file!
Official LOS uses oss camera service, so xml written for other custom roms might not work.
The gcams at the above link have modified xmls for LOS.

So far I have tried my previous favorite (NGCam v7.4.104-v2.0) that I have in use on ArrowOS 11 (last version with MIUI vendor), but it crashes as was to be expected due to the camera service as mentioned above.
I have also tried UltraCVM (v8.1 from the link above and v8.4.300.10u_ucvm from the GCam Hub) which worked with the provided config file, but unfortunately it does not seem to support a 3rd party gallery, I could not find out how to change camera lenses, and at one point while playing around with it, it just crashed.
So in the end I really would like to have a camera app that supports slow motion and time lapse video, 3rd party gallery, all the available lenses and runs stable.

Just read up on Aperture, and indeed makes sense and needs to be supported, but still, it does not have slow motion and time lapse video and I'm not sure about the use of lenses:
Support for auxiliary cameras (this has to be enabled outside of the Aperture app)

Not sure what that means and if this has been enabled for the two additional lenses that we have on the POCO X3 NFC. I guess this should be the selector that reads ".9 | .9 | 1" in the middle of the lower part of this screenshot:
But unfortunately this is not working as the lens selection (main, macro and wide angle) obviously isn't correctly configured (though there are no UI options for that):
The "1" seems to be the main lens, which is working.
The middle ".9" is not working at all (makes the picture freeze and something crashes, because also the UI keeps working, the camera picture does not recover), so this must be an invalid camera ID.
The left ".9" looks like main lens in black & white, so that's also an invalid camera ID because that lens is not supposed to be used on its own, but does its job in conjunction with the main camera for more depth (or something like that).
So the camera ID configuration needs to be corrected and the UI needs a proper camera labeling (so that you can see which of the three selectors is which lens).
There is also a picture of the settings menu, which looks differently from the one we have:
We don't have the photo stabilization and the the lower two video stabilization options.
Hello all. do we have any feedback from this rom if anyone is using it? I would like to test it probably next weekend so I would appreciate anyone that has some experience till now.

All good except the camera issue. Aperture is just not good enough, though of course it makes sense as it's OSS. Haven't found the time to play with various Gcam versions and have been testing crDroid in the meantime (though that one is not to stay as the next version will be rebased to LOS as well and requires a clean flash).
