I have been trying so hard to find this feature or a way to root the phone to get it. how is it they can add it to their old Z3 but not their flagship? I LOVE this phone, it has literally everything i want EXCEPT face unlock, come on motorola! One more step! Any one find anything yet?

It didn't come with that feature nor will it get it.

That's super weird. The regular Motorola Edge does have face unlock feature. The Edge Plus doesn't...

Same situation but with Moto G power. It's a so absurd decision from Motorola.

yes. settings->security->screen lock->pattern. I also use 'make pattern visible'.
If you value your security, don't use it. In most cases it's sufficient to look at the phone from an angle to see the smear of the unlock pattern.
And since there are 2 directions it's not hard to guess =)
PIN-Codes are a lot harder since you usually have other similar marks on the phone too.
I use it to prevent the phone from accidentally unlocking in my pocket or when idly playing around with the screen.

HTC1MAX vs SGMEGA6.3

Just swapped my Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 for HTC One Max 5.9 on sprint.
One thing I always missed after switching to Samsung was the text reflow. HTC has it inbuilt for browsers, email etc. Tried looking for equivalents for samsung and found none.
Samsung did provide home screen rotation ONLY just now with 6.3 and I thought I will miss it as that was another big driving force that made me try 6.3, but found an alternative for HTC in ultimate screen rotation.
I hope HTC brings it back as default.
Now my only concern is rooting, as it was very easy in Samsung phones, just root injected ROM, hope we get good support for our HTC One max for that, do not want to install custom roms, I am okay with what HTC has given me, just need root.

You could just unlock bootloader and flash the custom recovery which will enabled you to root.
Thank you Pradeep, but will need to read up

Thank you Pradeep, coming back to HTC after a long time and have almost forgotten lot of things, will have to read up before I attempt root.
Will have to find a guide here. Even XDA has changed a bit so bit difficult to find what one needs.

Not going to use finger print scan utility so it works for me...Just one question if you know, will LTE work? Right now it is not working anyways as in my area triband is not activated.

LTE works fine, never have also read issues with that, i don't think LTE has any relationship with BL unlock.
i also don't use the fingerprint scanner

S6 edge guestions

Hello!
Does somebody know if the edge notifications (colors) works with Whatsapp or only with SMS and calls? And will the s6 edge still have this dual camera function like the s4?
Thanks!

Dude, if by dual cam you mean clicking pics from both rear and front snappers simultaneously then it has been there from every galaxy since s4, my note 4 has it too. So, it would only be logical to expect that on s6.
And I don't know about the edge notification for whatsapp. That doubt can be cleared after someone gets the phone in their hands

Hi, I am not a dude I am a woman  , I thought the same as you, about the logical step in the s6 but i've seen many videos on youtube of the s6 and s6 edge and I have never seen this dual camera function on those videos, that's why I am asking this. So you don't know about this dual camera function and you don't know if the colors of the s6 edge works with Whatsapp? But my question is: is there somebody who DO know this ? Thanks anyway for your reaction!
P.s. English isn't my first language so maybe my grammar is bad, I am sorry.
I read that the edge is only for missed calls and SMS ,other programs will go to the standard led notification.

Hopefully because the sides are part of the main screen someone will come up with a solution, somewhat like NoLed.

haha i tried answering what i could
exact info can only be known if we get the device somehow.
PS: i take my "dude" back
No idea. Like so many here, I just have lots of questions that can only be answered once I have the phone. Kind of interesting though how it's going to work.
I'm curious how they're going to make screen protectors for the edges.... i don't think they could make glass ones, and dry install screen protectors would just peel at the edges the whole time. It would have to be a wet install, but most of those companies don't carry wet install products.
Ah thanks everyone. I think I have to wait haha! I am so excited, just ordered my s6 edge, the gold one

both these options are the wet/squeegee application, and as you noted, which will likely be the only type of screen protectors that will work well on the Edge.
they come with the liquid solution and squeegee, and only 7 bucks
IQ Shield LiQuidSkin
and
ArmorSuit MilitaryShield

About the camera i don't know.
But whatsapp i think it will get notifications in the edge..... we'll just have to wait for a dev to make an app for it.
WhatsApp Plus in Galaxy S6 Edge
I'm not able to install WhatsApp Plus on S6 edge because original WhatsApp come by default in the phone and cant be deleted only you can disable it , there any one know how to install WhatsApp Plus on S6 Edge ?
The Dual Camera mode is downloadable in the camera app.
About the dual camera... It isn't on the stock rom but it is available as a Samsung add on. In the camera select mode then download to get more camera modes which are not installed.

[Q] Turn off low-bit ambient mode?

Hi all,
I switch from a lg gwatch r to a 2nd gen moto 360. I really love it except for low-bit ambient mode.
Now the Gwath R had normal ambient mode and i was wondering if it is posible to switch the moto 360's low-bit ambient mode to normal ambient mode?
I think that at the moment there is no option from Motorola to turn it off, but I am 100% sure that if you unlock the bootloader and modify the sytem files, probably the build.prop, there is a way to do it. I would test it, but the 46mm version is currently not available at Motorola.

Ok Thanks... i have the 42mm version here. Please let me know if you find anything.
Ordered my watch today (46mm version available again). I will post here if I find a way to disable the low-bit ambient mode.
I'm interested to

You got your watch? Any luck trying to disable low-bit?
unfortunately not, those idiots at Motorola paused my order, because I ordered a Moto X Style 2 weeks before. They said it's a fraud protection. I don't know what genius coded that ordering system. Probably he thought that no one orders in the same shop twice
I got my 46mm a few days ago and if there's anything I can try to help with this I'd be glad to. I would also like to at least partially disable the low-bit mode(at least make it greyscale).
Just got an e-mail that my watch has been shipped. Yippie Yah Yei Schweinebacke! I will keep you guys informed.

Any news?
got it yesterday. Had no time to tinker with it. Looking into it at the weekend. Some patience please
I also don't know if it's as easy as I think.
EDIT, 31.10.2015
Ok, just had a look. It's not as easy to do as I thought. Coming from an LG G Watch R and having an easy USB connection through the charging puck I thought it would be easy to unlock the bootloader and modify system files, but that's the problem now. You can get an ADB shell through bluetooth debugging, but no fastboot access to unlock the bootloader and without that we can not modify "/system/build.prop" and disable this "ro.ambient.low_bit_enabled=true"
There is a lip at the back of the watch, probably to open it up, but I have fear to break the back. Anyone brave enough in here?
Because there should be the same points the guy is using here: YouTube

The lip on the back removes the plastic ring around the glass back(its glued on) underneath are some what i beleave are contact points but there not next to each other but randomly all around.
ok, I sacrificed my watch for science
And it played out really well. I just did some quick measurements and it looks like those are indeed the debugging pads. I already found out which pad is for GND. The greatest problem I see is how to secure the cables on the pads without soldering and without a Motorola custom data cable?
hmm, I already have an idea, but no time at the moment. Perhaps at the weekend.

Thanks for your initiative. I received my moto 360 2nd gen last friday, went through unpacking and inital setup, installed my favourite watchfaces - and ended up sadly disappointed because of that horrible dim mode.
Coming from the LG Watch R I thought the slightly dimmed but otherwise full resolution and colored face would be "normal" - I had no idea concerning those different dim-modes Google Wear has to offer.
I'll attach a photo with both watches in dim mode. And this is one of the better choices
Hope there will be a solution soon, or I probably will return my moto within the next 2 weeks.

Facial recognition?

Just started using it today. Seems like it works okay so far. Anybody else use it? Have you been able to trick it? Just curious about how well it works and security on it.
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk.
I find it not working correctly more often than not, however, that is because I only really use it while my phone is lying down, so the angle of my face might be tripping it up. I can't imagine what it will be like on the iphone x where this is the only way to unlock the phone. Holding my phone up to my face is not how I want to unlock my phone every time.

Yeah. I still have the fingerprint set up and mostly use that. True, I have bought iPhones too but I really wasn't interested in the X at all.

I redid the facial recognition for face unlock and I am now finding it is more accurate than before. Win!
**Yes i was being stupid, found it
Am i being really stupid, but i cant find this feature at all.
Im sure i saw it on set up but cant find it again now.
Andy ideas chaps?
A
Face unlock option gone?
Sorry for bringing this old thread up again, but i wanted try the face unlock option recently and i can't find it anymore.
I've set it up when I got my phone but switched it off till now.
Does anybody have the same problem? It it possible LG removed the option with one of latest updates?
Cheers
Dan
Nevermind, i've found it. Apparently i've removed lg face recognition from trust agents...
