[Android 9] [Gsi-Port] MIUI 11 from The PocoPhone F1 - Moto G5S ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Devel

Pleaseb see all Posts Below for context and Important information!
This is a little bigger project of mine
I started a poll over at t.me/motoxproject and t.me/montanalabtesters
without going into detail, MIUI won with the most amount of votes
So here it is!
MIUI 11 Based on Android P From berilium (Poco F1)
Bugs:
-Themes only partially work by default, for a fix, see second post!
-Possibly Bluetooth
-Doesnt work on XT1799-2
Download:
https://t.me/MotoXProject/84
(I uploaded it to Telegram, just press on the link and it should bring you to the message)
Any questions?
PM me on Telegram or on Xda!
Status: Stable?
Android Version: 9
Supported Kernels: Radium (preinstalled) / in a later update EVA as well
Have fun trying this and stay inside!

To fix MIUI themes:
1. Download both files from here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Lz8a9mypwTQ67-JWnTTbtKjo5a8Qx731
2. Flash the first zip within TWRP, reboot, and open the themes app once
3. Reboot to TWRP and flash the second zip file
4. Reboot into MIUI and open the themes app, if it doesn't crash, try downloading a theme, if it works
Congratulations you fixed MIUI Themes

You most probably won't be able to login to Google Play Services when booting,
MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD A GMS APK FILE FROM APKMIRROR AND INSTALLING IT FIRST AFTER BOOTING!

A fix has been discovered for the blur issues!
For a one time fix head into developer options and scroll to
"Disable HW Overlays" and instantly you see no more buggy Blur.
This resets on reboot tho
So I'll put some links down below!
Extract this and put it into init.d (emulated?) or use any application to run this at startup!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2741603&d=1399997136

I'm sorry for being stubborn btw, the file above
1. Can't be easily downloaded
2. Doesn't even work due to a renaming error caused by me
:\
I will be fixing this though

I can't install, on twrp error 7 appears in red

MIUI 8 Beta

This is a beta test for MIUI 8 MM base for the Nexus 6P.
This version is based off patchrom, and is an unofficial build.
Up to date tutorial of how to build using patchrom - Here
WARNING: Your warranty is now void. I take no responsibility in the well-being of your device. Follow the instructions, and post detailed information if you face any issues.
Full install instructions can be found - Here
It is a long process, unfortunately
Ok, this should be the current install method that people are following. As of Oct/13/16
Download the necessary apk files and place them on your sdcard/emulated storage. (Keyboard of choice, rom manager/smanager, titanium backup, and working theme manager)
Wipe Dalvik, system, data, and cache
Flash fullota, vendor, gapps, superuser
Allow the rom to boot. Takes roughly 10 minutes for the first boot. You will experience some force closes
Pull the notification shade down, hit the gear icon to get into options. Go to about phone. Tap MIUI version until you have developer options.
Go back to settings, then find additional options. Scroll down to "Allow USB debugging". Check the box next to this option
Open permissions, application found on your homescreen select bottom option for root. Check the box and accept the prompt
It will say that it failed
Go to the homescreen and delete the supersu application (drag the icon to the top of the screen)
Open the file manager application and install Titanium backup. (This will help you determine if you're rooted)
Open script manger(browse as root). Navigate to /data/local/ and run userinit.sh as root.
Your gapps should now be functioning without force closing.
Now delete the themes application. (use a root file explorer, I use solid explorer. Theme manager is located in /system/apps/)(Must restart your phone after deleting the apk)
Install the theme manager from your sdcard
(You can download themes from Here (place them in the /miui/theme/ folder
Finally, fix file sharing issues by enabling Documents in the installed apps settings. (It is disabled by default. You'll have to enable it after every reboot)
To download off of Wi-Fi, go to downloads app, settings, change limit to your liking.
To keep documents enabled after reboots, follow theses instructions:
Enable Documents in "installed apps" settings
Go to developer options
Disable MIUI optimizations
Accept and reboot
Download links:
MIUI ROM - FullOta
Vendor - Vendor
GAPPS - GAPPS
GAPPS Mirror - GAPPS
Apps to place on sdcard - APPS
Superuser - SU Warning Won't prompt for super user permissions
Tested and working:

BUGS/TODO:
Package everything into an all in one package/less packages

Enable "Documents" by default
Find a better solution for gapps
Add su handling application
Add fully English keyboard to initial package

Be aware. Not sure if this will boot. Or soft/hard brick a device.
By flashing, you agree that you are at fault if any errors occur.
I will help as much as possible in the process.
Please upload your logcats to pastebin. This way I can view them, as long as others.
OK, do you have a 6p as well? Or are you building blind?

[AROMA] oZoP Mods - System Animations - 8 full w/5 add-ons [v1.1 - July 30]

oZoP Development Projects are on the way!!!
ONE ZIP ONE PLACE
System Transition Animations mod
By flashing this zip you will be given a bunch of choices for different system animation style for screen/window transitions, keyboard/toast views and many others. You will get an additional option to tweak a little for unique styles!!
So I give you this, UNIVERSAL for MOST devices Aroma installer to give users the option for different choices!
This zip will work for MOST device running ANY Rom with ANY version Android 5.0+!
How to use the ozop-restore.zip to revert/recovery quickly without the need to restore or reinstall the whole Rom:
And just to be safe, I have included in my scripts and files a method that will create a flashable restore zip of your files before the mods does its thing!
The restore zip will be inside the new "ozop" folder that has been created and the zip is named "ozop-restore.zip"
If something doesn't play nice, just flash the zip and you'll be back to the way it was before you flashed the mod
NOTE: the script will delete any existing restore zips EVERY TIME you flash a new option, meaning that if you flash the mod again, your original system files will be replace with the file you flash previously!
If you want to have a permanent back up of the original file, you will need to rename the zip inside the ozop folder to whatever, just can't have the same name or it gets replaces everything you flash the mod
BUG REPORT:
Code:
MIUI choice causing boot issues for some users (works fine for me), so be prepared to you the restore.zip if needed. Will look into a fix for future releases
Report bug properly to get my support
Of course there are many way to properly report bugs and ALL of these ways have one thing in common, THEY ALL REQUIRE VERY DETAILED NOTES of the issue!
I'm not going to go deep into how detailed you could get because lets face it, most people that report improperly are the ones who don't read and probably are going to read this! HaHaHa...
To get support from me I only ask for some simple things
1. What device, and rom you are running
2. What is the issue (no boot, fc everywhere, fc only certain app etc...)
3. Which option did you select
4. Did you get the install log
5. Did you use the restore.zip option to get back running
6. Do other choices share the same effect
That looks like a lot, but it really is the minimum amount of info need to troubleshoot!
Provide me that and I'll do my best to fix things and make this fun for everyone.
If you post things like
"Doesn't work", "bootloop" or anyone other similar post that have no value and help development is no way, actually these kinds of post only put development behind and slow progress die the fact that anyone who cam help has to waste their time reading it!
If these kind of post ever come up, its best to ignore the lazy person and not clog the thread with flaming replies as that too slows development!
Anyway, I don't expect there to be many if any bugs! Been tested by myself and confirmed with users of this device!
Now grab the download and enjoy!

Great... All in one place... Missing link is my favourite... Many thanks dev
Missing link animation is great.... Will try more animation on oos 4.1.6
Welcome
@stangdriver44, great to see you here! your amazing work for the Galaxy S6 was the only reason I kept it for as long as I did. Ultimately touchwiz killed me and I switched to the 1+3T.

Whoever wish to use this theme first pls make sure that u took a original backup of system animation as said by OP otherwise you can stuck on bootloop. However most of the animation is working on my oos 4.1.6
It broke most of my apps running 7.1.2 resurrection remix CAF version with stock kernel (whatsapp, contacts, playstore, GMS) , i had to revert back using the restore zip and waiting for it to boot up. thanks anyway.

hope you can make this more modular, i like missing link keyboard animation, and like ios transition
so for now i use missing link + drop down transition
hope more option coming on next release
Missing link and iOS animations worked fine for me on RR . Using missing link right now. Missing link working on my son's nexus 6 running RR as well
Now my smartphone looks much better.
I use the Nexus 7 Style.
Thank you for your work .
Can you add the OxygenOS animations? The fading etc that they add is very nice.
I can't flash the zip through TWRP, when i try it says that it cannont be installed and it gives me error 255.
Model: Asus Zenfone 2 Z00A
ROM: LineageOS 14.1
I tried mutiple times and also tried moving the zip from the SD to internal storage but it gave me the same error again.
I really hope you can help me because i really want those iOS animations since LOS ones suck.
OBS: This is the only info i can give to you since i can't even see the Aroma GUI, the error happens as soon as i try to flash the zip.
Edit: Through a little research i now think is because me phone is x86 and not arm, would you kindly make it x86 compatible? Please?
Edit 2: Here's the recovery log i copied right after the error appeared: https://pastebin.com/6q1cwdeA (the flashing process starts at line 1022)
Edit 3: Managed to fix the 255 error by replacing the "update binary" file with one compatible with x86 (from lineageOS). But now i get another error, this time error 6, which apparently has something to do with the "updater script" file i think.

This mod is made keeping the OnePlus 3T in mind, buddy. You should have expected it to not work on the ASUS Zenfone. Moreover, ARM - x64 v/s Intel - x86 (32 bit). It was bound to fail.
No updates??
Will it work on one plus 3t 5.1 oxygen os

unable to change themes

Hello.
I was forced to reinstall firmware due to phone issues.
Now I'm again with root and TWRP.
Firmware is on nougat, version c900b300 but many files are missing.
In particular, themes cannot be applied even if I can download them.
I followed a procedure suggested for the Mate 8 but with no results.
Is someone able to help me?
I think this is not a post for q&a section.
Otherwise please move it.
Thanks.
Ah, even the ringtones folder is empty, but this is not a big issue...
Try these 2 methods
1 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/help/solved-huawei-gr5-2017-honor-6x-problem-t3606037
2 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/help/theme-issue-5-0-upgrade-t3579812/page2
First method pushed FM spk in data folder, I rebooted but no FM radio app shows up.
Regarding second method, Google drive file doesn't exist.
I hope to be able to install Oreo when available through TWRP.
Now I don't have the updater and I'm not receiving ota update from Huawei. Unfortunately I'm stuck with March security updates
Dammit, I'm out of ideas at the moment. Plus, i didn't knew that even updater was missing... You wanna try with an apk of mine extracted?
of course mate.
Now I'm more relaxed, as I understand that is better just playing with this phone. I'm not gonna put job related files anymore in, so if something happens, I can recover easily.
Baaaaaaaaad phone...
Ah, sorry if I forgot to mention that I miss A LOT of file. Basically all the crapware like Health or Huawei related bullshits, updater, ringtones, themes are not installing. Cannot even load a different wallpaper.
But I have nougat base and patches till March.
Better than nothing!
Ringtones= thank you Zedge to exist!
Themes= amen, I can live with it

For Huawei bloatware it's surely a positive thing if you don't care, since that those results "well" radicated into system and aren't easy to remove. For all the rest, looks like you are on a firmware build that was created to another build, and so causes various incompatibilities... But it's the worst case that i saw, except bricking related cases maybe a rebranding to an other variant, with the flash of another firmware could solve at least the missing apps issue. Anyway, i uploaded the updater apk; after all i don't think it'll works sincerely neither making it a system app with apps or modules like systemizer, if all those issues are present already... But in the worst case here, you'll just get an install failure due to an apk version that doesn't match your first, initial build. Try for fun, i would say.
Thank you for the tips.
Even if I read on this forum (honor in general) many different opinions regarding how to flash a Rom with twrp...and sometimes even with dload method.
I mean: it seems to me that with twrp is compulsory to flash the zip with "PV" only, even if many disagree
With dload, unzip the folder and better to put all the files, not only the .app one inside...
Am I right?
By the way, the updater apk should be put inside what folder? Of course it cannot be installed normally (file corrupted)
You can use apps like Link2SD, but if the file looks corrupt (had this problem too when i accidentally deleted compass app time ago) it means that doesn't matches your build number. You could try by installing a version that matches your actual build.

Yes, with dload method, you need to flash all files available in zip to get everything working, i tries this and everything worked for me without anything missing.
For flashing zip, yes it is PV files that can be flashed via Twrp
The problem, as far as I know, is that now Huawei stopped releasing ROM files and even the .ru website now will have problems to collect files...

Solution
Hey, i have had the same Problem with the theme changer - found this solution which just take 1 minute
Themes:
- I downloaded the Huawei Tool from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/tool-srk-tool-huawei-bootloader-root-t3470823
- enable USB-Debugging connect your phone to the PC and start the tool
- choose "7" for utilities
- after that choose "12. Install /data/hw_init (Mate8,P9,P9 Plus)" and confirm
- after reboot the theme change will work again!
Will it work on honor 6x? The hw data is only for p9 ,isnt it?

[Moto G6 Plus] 4: How to install Custom Roms

THIS GUIDE IS FOR THE MOTO G6 PLUS ONLY
4: Custom Roms
What are custom roms? Simply put they are modified versions of Android containing advanced tweaks, stability, and performance. Custom Roms are device specific for the most part. In other words, a Rom for the Moto G6 Plus will not work on a Moto G6 or G6 Play. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but they do not apply to the Moto G6 family so I won’t get into detail about it here. As of Android 8.0(Codename Oreo), Google has redesigned the framework of Android with a system called Project Treble. I will get in to that more later on in the Generic System Image(GSI) section of this guide, but to quickly summarize, it means Custom Roms that do not have to be built to be device specific. For a more detailed analysis of custom roms you can read the information in the spoiler tags below.
Spoiler
Android is a free open source software(FoSS)! This means anyone, anywhere in the world can help contribute to Android. This allows developers to add, remove, or modify the source code, and even publish there modified source code for others to use. The most popular example of this is called LineageOS(formerly CyanogenMod(CM)). At one point it was reported over 50 Million people ran CM! Why did 50+ million people decide to ditch the standard Android software provided by the phone’s manufacturer? There are a number of reasons such as :
Bloatware: Stock firmware is commonly infested with applications installed by your carrier to generate more revenue. Rom’s do not have this problem.
Updates: Android updates typically require approval by the carriers as they want certain functions disabled (tethering for example), to make you pay extra for this feature. Since carriers have they final say when updates are pushed out to devices, and wanted bloatware installed, etc, users were lucky to receive security updates. Users were even luckier to see a version update (Oreo to Pie for example). Rom’s do not rely on a carrier to be updated.
Stability: Since users were lucky to receive updates, you were forced to live with bugs for a long periods of time. Maybe even the entire life of the device. Since Custom Roms receive regular updates, this means bugs were fixed in a timely manner.
Performance: Custom roms are usually more optimized for the hardware they run on then stock roms. They may overclock your phone’s processor(CPU) to make it function faster then it was originally designed.
There are other various reasons but you get the idea.
For a list of features added to LineageOS (read this). Other roms may or may not include these features and more!
So how do you install a custom rom? Currently Moto G6 Plus users have access to LineageOS 15.1 (Based on Android 8.1). LineageOS 16(Android 9 Pie based) is in the development stage. There is no time line on a release just yet so not ask for an ETA! Let’s get started!
Downloads:
++Download these files to your PC.
*ADB and Fastboot Installer for Windows - (Download) - When prompted to install a driver type the number 0 and hit enter. This will install the latest version of adb and fastboot where it is system-wide. This eliminates the need for adb.exe or fastboot.exe to be in the same folder as the files you will be working with. NOTE: Windows will flag this as a virus! The installer is open source and made by a Moderator here on XDA. It is a False Positive. You can view a VirusTotal report (HERE). 26 out of 67 virus scanners report it as a virus. If your Anti-Virus is one of the ones that flag it as a virus, I would suggest you explore other Anti-Virus software, but that’s not what this guide is about.
* TWRP - (Download) - This is a modified Recovery Software allowing you to flash files that will allow you to fipe your device and install custom roms and other various things. Thanks to XDA Member @erfanoabdi who has ported it to our device.
++Download these files to your phone’s sdcard(Do not place them on the internal storage)
*Magisk - (Download) - Download the Stable version here. While not required, I do suggest you download the Latest Uninstaller and Latest Magisk Manager as well.
*copy-partitions-AB.zip - (Download) – Our phone is what’s known as an A/B device. This translates into slot_a and slot_b. The means we have a system_a partition and a system_b partition for example. By default some of these _b partitions are empty. This will populate these empty partitions with a copy of the data on the respective _a partition to help prevent you from bricking your device!
*LineageOS 15.1 [Unofficial] – You have 2 options:
lineage-15.1-20180811-UNOFFICIAL-evert.zip – This version was built on August 08 2018 by @erfanoabdi and @rahulsnair who are the real developers for the Moto G6 Plus.
lineage-15.1-20181003-UNOFFICIAL-evert.zip – This version was built on October 03 2018 by me Xplorer4x4. This version uses the same device specific binaries and source code @erfanoabdi and @rahulsnair used, but uses updated LineageOS source code. This is a bug fix release and does not include additional features.
Gapps – These are Google Apps like YouTube, PlayStore, Gmail, and more. -Again you have two options:
-OpenGapps – (Download) – Personally I prefer OpenGapps as you can customize which apps you want to install. The only downfall is that when you flash an update to LOS, you will have to flash Gapps again. In the Platform Column choose ARM64, in the Android Column choose 8.1, and then you can choose any Variant. I personally use the Nano Package and manually install the Gapps I want form the Play Store.
-MindTheGapps – (Download) – What you get is what you get. You don’t get to choose which gapps are installed, but if you flash an LOS update in the future, you won’t have to flash them again.
Please keep reading for detailed instructions on how to install LineageOS 15.1.
WARNING: This will wipe out all apps and data stored on your phone! It will not wipe your SD Card. Any apps purchased/installed from the Play Store can be restored using WiFi or LTE when you are done installing a ROM.
Known Bugs: Everything works except making calls with Bluetooth devices.

*On your device(it should be booted in to TWRP at this point):
Create a TWRP Backup: Tap Backup -> Select Storage -> Micro SD Card - > OK. You will see a section that says "Select Partitions to Backup." Make sure to select all of these boxes. Congratulations, you have installed Lineage OS but we are not done yet! Let the device boot until you see the LineageOS Welcome screen. Note that the first time booting up a custom rom will take longer then a typical reboot. It should take no more than 5 minuets to complete!
Once on the LineageOS Welcome Screen, you can complete the setup or reboot back to your bootloader. Once the device powers off, hold the Power Button and Volume Down button until the bootloader displays on the phone screen.
4V: Boot TWRP again:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-42-evert.img
4X: Tap install and navigate to the directory where you placed your gapps.zip and Magisk.zip.
4Y: Tap the Gapps.zip and choose add More zips.
4Z: Tap the Magisk.zip and Swipe to install.
We need to Wipe->Format Data one last time or else your Gapps will give you multiple errors when you boot LOS again. Once you have Formated Data, you can now reboot to system and enjoy LOS!
Small error?
Thanks for the effort that's gone into this post.
Just a quick editing note: the link to download Magisk (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=5862345805528069013) seems to point to twrp-.2.1-37-evert.img rather than Magisk.
Detailed excellent guide. Almost everything covered.
Btw what advantage this twrp 42 holds over the one from twrp site?

Use the version from twrp website. I haven't had a chance to update the guide. Encryption is supposed to work on official twrp but I think myself and other testers verified encryption is not working right now.

What are the steps to compile for this device? Can you provide that information please? I have compiled for others, but this one is new to me and I think you use some configuration or additional files.
@Xplorer4x4 can you provide me your local_manifest file?
Does anyone know if we have any microg rom options for the Moto G6 plus?
Followed your instructions, after step 4U the device stays completely dark, no bootloader, no volume down + power key helps, nothing.

Try one of the following options:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/update-moto-lenovo-moto-smart-assistant-t3951714/
The second one is the official Rescue Tool from Lenovo. Read the user's guide first. I don't know why your phone is dead, but this might help you.

Thanks, I discovered the first thread after stopping banging my head against the wall. It actually worked. I can now use fastboot and adb etc. again. AFAIK, it is not possible to flash twrp recovery, it has to be booted on demand with adb/fastboot? I tried flashing lineage recovery instead, maybe I should not have done that, idk. Anyways it still booted to fastboot after that. I also seem to be confused by the a/b scheme.
Anyways I started all over with the copy-partitions-a-b (as I had a completely broken system, I cant imagine syncing the gargabe between a and b would help much?) and flashing lineage 17.1 again. It now boots to lineage. I rebooted to fastboot/twrp again to sideload opengapps (are they a/b compatible yet?!).
And how do I get a working recovery system again? I can't flash twrp? Can I flash lineage-recovery? Or something else?
And what does "active a" in twrp actually mean? That it will flash to "b"? Or that it will flash to "a"?

I has just booted once to LineageOS, after trying to install Gapps, it's stuck in a bootloop. Going to twrp and selecting either A or B and then clicking on reboot, warns "no os installed"!

Get informations about A/B partitions (seamless updates) and how it works.
You must flash the GApps before our first boot into system.

if it's an endless bootanimation then try to force reboot the device by holding the power button for 10-15 seconds.

Your internal storage is devided into several partitions e.g. /system, /vendor, /boot and /(user)data. The option format data is the same as the option factory reset. Both of them delete all your apps, settings and so on.
Your OS and all related Moto stuff is stored on /system (OS) and /vendor (Moto). By default they are unmounted, but could be mounted as r/w. If you delete them, you won't boot because no OS is installed.

MIUI firmware development is stopped.
Nice work!
Thank you!!
I have tested the ROM for several weeks and the result, to be a beta, is frankly good. On the negative side, only highlight that I couldn't add any widget. When I give to add widget, only 1x1 size is available. I couldn't put the clock with the weather, for example.
Please, keep it up, do not forget about MIUI, and thank you very much for your work!

Thanks for your feedback! I didnt't check widgets, so I will but later. . . For now, I assume that this problem is connected with original MIpad firmware as if it is still in development. The biggest problem in this ROM is battery draining and I don't know how to fix it. Let me know if you find any other issues.
P.S. You also can check other stable ROM, e.g Pixel Experience. It has not been tested yet by other users except me. You can find the link in TWRP thread.
Finally, MIUI becomes a stable ROM!
So, test it again and let me know if you find any other critical issues.
