[RECOVERY][TWRP 3.2.x][n2awifi]Unofficial TWRP recovery for SM-T520 - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Android Development

TWRP is an open source, community project. A custom recovery is used for installing custom software on your device. This custom software can include smaller modifications like rooting your device or even replacing the firmware of the device with a completely custom “ROM” like LineageOS or OmniROM.
This thread is for Unofficial TWRP builds for picassowifi/n2awifi (SM-T520).

Thanks, @LaCruz! I have been using TWRP 3.0.2-0 with the Deathly Version of LOS 14.2 for years w/o issue. Are there specific feature improvements in this latest TWRP to encourage the change?

Changes can be found in TWRP Changelog and Changelog

Just like every TWRP release after 3.0.2.0, MTP is broken between the tablet and a computer. The only way of moving files is by using an SD card. Not sure if I'm the only one with this issue.

Oh good news for F400 users. :good::good::good:
Can you post a link to your kernel source? The kernel I built for D850 won't boot so I'm doing a diff on some sources to see if I can find something. Of course finding things to compare to is slim right now .

I used CM kernel source (branch cm-13.0) without making any changes. Only SELinux policies made build go wrong, so try to build full CM13 not building only kernel.

Just make your selinux permissive it will ignore sepolicies then. And look at the open commits on Gerrit. There are some fixes that makes compiling go through

Yeah, I don't think it is the problem is with the kernel. I did implement this WIP from Gerrit http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/117851/. I get no build errors at all but obviously something is preventing the kernel from booting into the OS. I also applied androidboot.selinux=permissive and it doesn't work either. I'll keep trying .
Well the build did boot but any change under settings give a force close.

FEATURES:
Installation
WARNING: These are blind builds. I do not own the device but yes the ROM will be tested by a few people. Bugs are (were) similar to that on stock LineageOS for the device. Testers are always welcome. ( t.me/tywinlannister7). The ROM will be updated whenever I get time and feel that an update is pending for the latest changes/fixes.
Unlock bootloader if not already done.
Flash TWRP Custom Recovery via fastboot.
Boot into Recovery Mode. (Custom Recovery Environment needed)
Make apt backups.
Wipe System, Data, Cache and ART Cache.
Flash the ROM zip.
Flash the GApps zip.
Reboot to System.
NON-ROOTED. Why?
Simply because some people want MagiskSU and some want SuperSU while some don't want root at all.

Finally, a ROM with no root, slim and with OMS. Something which squid2, Subhrajyothi Sen and others couldn't mimic (maybe Slim 7, but the download link is dead) Hats off from me!
Great work! Are you able to auto-build the rom whenever there is a lineagaOS build?

What is Project Treble:
Project Treble basically partitions your device into two separate partitions, a system and a vendor: system contains your generic system image, while vendor partition has your device specific files required for booting and running your phone. This way we can easily change the system image and be able to run our device on different system images with the same kernel and vendor partition
Read more about Project Treble
Functionalities:
- Vendor Security Patch Level is 2019-06-05
Downloads:
- Google Drive
How to report bugs:
- Logcat and a simple description of the bug, kmsg or dmseg depending on the bug
What's Packaged in the zip:
- A compressed vendor image
How to use:
- Boot to TWRP
- Wipe all partitions
- Format data/userdata partition
- Flash Modified vendor flashable zip package on both slots (One we shared. Needs to be flashed only once)
- Install the GSI/Custom ROM you wish to use
- Reboot
- If GSI/Custom ROM doesn't include gapps flash and boot
Important notes:
- Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if Stock was previously installed and device was encrypted.
Working:
- Everything
Broken:
- Found something? Report it!

It will work as long as it is not stock rom.
:good:
Does this vendor image get updated every time there is a Google Security Update? In other words, is that update on this partition or the system partition?
Clsoing down this thread as flashing a seprate vendorimage is not required anymore on my builds. Updated ROM builds that I maintain will roll out soon.
Community vendor r2 is up. Must be used with Android 10 (Q) ROMs only.
Community vendor r2.2 (2-2) is up!

First In flash I see lineage 17 gsi have bug camera and flashlight :
fix from phhusson in thread lineage 17 gsi :
1) Find /system/etc/ld.config.XX.txt (where XX is the SDK version your vendor corresponds to - e.g. 8.1 vendor is SDK 27)
2) Find the line "namespace.vndk.links = system,default"
3) Append ",runtime" to the end of it, so it becomes "namespace.vndk.links = system, default, runtime"
4) Save and reboot
Thanks to all who brought up the issue and @phhusson for quickly identifying the cause / giving a fix!
after apply Fix I see its not fixed in this ugglite ...

No, its more of a pathing changes to improve compatibility with later kernel drivers. Doesnt really affect any audio quality though.
tested on my x720 (with aicp14) with fatal results. Data partition auto encrypted without any prompt and without pasword. when phone asked me about the password i said... ouh yeah. Needed wipe data partition and gl/hf
I'm trying this rom. Clean flash without Gapps.
At first boot the rom was auto-encrypted and the phone booted as a Lex 727 (I have a Lex 720 6/64). I have not lost any data on the sd partition, that's nice!
Then I installed Nano Gapps, reboot, all seems OK and the phone now is seen as a Lex 720, that's right! I have not found where is the security patch information, for now this is the big question mark about this rom Thanks for this fine work!
Edit:
I think the forced encryption isn't a good idea, then uninstalled the rom. Further, with this rom the battery is overheating when charging, that's not nice! Thanks anyway!
Hello Dev,
How can one remove the encryption on the ROM. it worked on LEX722 but the forced encryption is the problem and formatting data in twrp does not help either.
Thanks
The ROM is very fluid, it works greatly on LEX722. I only wish there is a way we can decrypt data in TWRP, otherwise, it's perfect. I will keep this and hopeful @voron00 will give a guide on the solution for decryption in twrp.
Thanks

tested on my x720 (with aicp14) with fatal results. Data partition auto encrypted without any prompt and without password. when phone asked me about the password i said... ouh yeah. Needed wipe data partition and gl/hf

You can access the phone with your set password/pin/pattern. I read on the 4PDA thread that you must have your fingerprint set three times which i did and it worked.
The only issue now is having access to data partition when in recovery but it is not the problem of the ROM but TWRP. The good news is that it doesn't stop from flashing any file in recovery.
I hope this helps someone.

I use this rom since a few days. With Android 10 roms i had problems with connections to mobile networks using dual sim. With this rom problems seems to be gone. The battery drain is better than with Android 10 roms. Thank you for this good work.

Just installed it, battery seems good, quite smooth and insanely good deepsleep. One "issue" tho, i had the phone encrypted on android 10 and with this rom everytime i reboot it asks for password before finishing booting, its like a bit weird
