How to prevent some applications to connect to internet

Hi,
I am looking how to prevent an application to connect to internet either on wifi or on data network mode.
My problem is that some applications are connecting, in background, to internet and I would like to restrict it.
For example in windows, you have a firewall and you can allow or prevent each program to connect to internet.
Thanks.

[Q] Secure Wi-Fi Tethering on Moto G

I have a Moto G and I need solution for its Wi-Fi tethering (Wi-Fi Hotspot).
Earlier I used HTC devices, in what there was option to know how many user are connected to hotspot and an option to block MAC address as well.
But in Moto G there is no such option to do above mentioned things.
I would like to know if there is any app or any other way to achieve this on non-root Moto G.
I want to know how many users are connected to Hotspot and whenever a new user connects to hotspot I should be able to allow or block that device based on MAC address.

But if someone still manages to guess the password I should be able to control access based on MAC address.
Plus I want to know how many hosts are connected at any given time.

use pdanet. it doesnt require root. but be warned you cannot use the hotspot on game systems or smart tvs. it uses wifi direct to bypass carrier data monitoring.

POCO - hotspot without network aware flag

Hi
Can someone describe please what is required to do on this phone to disable 'network aware' flag when phone is used as hotspot? As I understand the phone needs to be rooted first. It should be possible then to change a config file somewhere so that if anything is rooted via phone's hotspot it make is invisible to network. Is there an app available which can do it.
Thanks
Sister has 4Gig data but network does not allow it to be used as hotspot. Hence the question

I am able to use the mobile data enabled hotspot without any issues
Hi
Thanks for reply. That is probably because your network provider is allowing you to use your data as hotspot. Hence not blocking traffic from other users via your phone. However, there is a way to remove a flag on other users traffic so it cannot be identified as comming from another device. It is part of OS config
That is what I am after
I know it is an old message but still not able to resolve this. Does the phone need to be rooted? Did not want to loose auto updates but if that is what it take I will have no options. I was hopping there are programs outthere which can do it without a root.
anyone?
change ttl to 65.
there are apps to do it easily.
