SMS text notification sound... - Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite Questions & Answers

I'm very new to the S10 Lite. I bought it about a week ago. I'm using Textra as my SMS client. I have a Notification sound set and I've been all over the sound settings with nothing muted and all volumes turned up to an audible level. For some reason incoming texts do not play the notification sound. Any ideas? I'm stumped.

[Q] Vibrate only for messages

Hi Guys,
I want my Galaxy S2 to vibrate only on incoming messages and ring on incoming phone calls.
Since the message tone is very short, In loud places, I am missing few messages.
Please let me know, if u know any app or settings to do this?
Regards,
C.Karthik
use a longer ring tone then,
create a folder in /mnt/sdcard/media/ringtones
put your ring tone (.mp3) in this folder,
and you can select it to be your ringtone
That might help, but is there any other way to vibrate alone?
for incoming call to ring only
set phone vibration to always off.
for sms to vibrate only
install and use handcent sms, and set the notification settings to vibrate always. and use a silent (empty) sound as ring tone.
it may work.

Mute/Vibrate problems

Does anyone else have the problem that if you have a text tone, email tone & phone ringtone, then try and Mute or put in Vibrate mode the S3, it only mutes the ringtone, both text messages and emails are still heard. Just found that out while in a meeting
Never experienced this before, any ideas?

No, this doesn't happen to me.. if I put the phone on silent everything goes silent.
Then if you open the volume control settings you can see that the icon for notification is crossed out to indicate silent.
Are you on a custom ROM? And how are you enabling silent mode?

I'm on Vodafone stock rom, I use the notification menu and selected Mute or Vibrate and text/email tones come through. I've even turned off the sound using the volume buttons, but these tones are still coming through.
When you go to volume settings do you are the icons crossed out when in silent mode?

I get either the icon mute or icon vibrate mode set in the notification bar area. I think I may end up trying a full reset and installing apps one at a time just in case one is conflicting.
One thing I have noticed is that if I use the volume rocker and turn it to mute, if you click the settings on the right of it, it shows all 3 volume settings and I think this is where it's not muting the other notifications

Viber in call beeping sound

Hey guys,
Some of you might experience this issue, while you're in a Viber call you keep hearing notification sound every second.
That's due to the Viber call notification which is present in the notification panel.
It seems EMUI is treating every change in that notification (time elapsed for example) as a new notification...
I used Autonotification app to hide that notification (I couldn't do it any other way, I tried everything) and that did the trick.
Now I can use Viber for calls again.
Viber in call constant beeping
Hi,
What did you do in autonotification to stop the beeping? The sound is driving me crazy

No notification sound while in call

I'm using a LG V30+ (LG-H930DS) and while I'm in a call, I don't receive notification sounds unless they're from regular text messages and even then the notification sound is different. Is there a setting or something I can do to fix this?

WhatsApp Conversation Sound

Does anyone have the conversation tone sound or know where I can find it in the files on a Pixel 2XL. It use to be the notification sound for all my whatsapp messages that came through but my phone updated to android 10 on me after a reset(very annoyed) and it now is just my regular notification sound like everything else.
