Ub ports(ubuntu touch port) GSI for realme xt - Realme XT Questions & Answers

Can someone manage to build a ubuntu touch rom for our xt
And now ,GSI UB ports is also available
I didn't understood about the "halium kernel patch"
So please can someone port ubuntu

Kernel just needs the correct merges/patches to boot the GSI. I agree I'd love to play around with this a bit.

So, there's no interest in this it seems? That's to bad, especially for people who don't bother using Gapps

There are what I'd consider detailed guides, but I'm no Dev. I was just reading up on Halium porting because I'd love to at least give Ubuntu Touch a test run before biting the bullet and buying the Pine Phone.

Is it possible to use Ubuntu touch as a daily driver if you don't have one of those pixel phones that are supported?

The Adam Outler Re Flash Method uses ubuntu as a recovery program. But if you remove the recovery file from the SD card then it becomes a version of "Ubuntu Touch"
Porting Ubuntu Touch is similar to building CM10.1, so expect it to come around sometime. I personally will wait for the release version, as the current preview build is mostly non-functional except for perhaps the browser.

Then again, with a base ported over, taking drivers from the recovery, it would be simple to port the official...since the kernel is almost locked in!
IDK about you...but I'm going to make some tries at a port

[Q] Porting Ubuntu Touch to Galaxy S3 GT-I9300

Hello mates, glad to see you in this thread, thanks for watching and helping.
***Searching for developers***
First of all I want to say that my english language is not very well, because I'm learning it now and it is not my native language.
OK, let's get it started. Few days ago I saw an Ubuntu Touch UI and I loved it. If you love it too, you can help me and all the "lovers" of Ubuntu Touch. In this thread I will collect all information, files and sources about Ubuntu Touch.
For now I have got some links and info about porting Ubuntu Touch to the other devices such as our SGS3 international. I know that there is an Ubuntu Touch version for Verizon Galaxy S3. So now we have a chance to get it to our device. I was reading our forum for more info about Ubuntu Touch versions for other devices. I know that there are a lot of threads with questions like "How do you think, will it be possible to port Ubuntu Touch to our GT-I9300?" or "Can someone port Ubuntu Touch for our GT-I9300?", but this thread is not just a words or requests, I really have some info and files for porting Ubuntu Touch to our GT-I9300, here they are:
– Official Ubuntu web site about porting Ubuntu Touch to other devices - there are a lot of information about porting and also there are some files, programs and documents.
– Here is the Ubuntu Touch version for Verizon SGS3 - I think someone will have a profit from learning their package. BUT DON'T FLASH IT TO OUR INTERNATIONAL GALAXY S3 or you will get a bricked device.
– Some info about porting CM - may be someone will need it.
– Home page of Ubuntu Touch - here you can find the Developer Preview.
You need the following things on your SGS3 to flash Ubuntu Touch:
– CyanogenMod 10.1
– Ubuntu Quantal (I'm sorry, don't know, what is it)
So I don't really good at programming and I want you to make a port for our device, I can be a beta-tester, also I can help with something more, if project will be started, port will be made and work stable, I will pay some money to the developer of this port.
Let's try it? :highfive:

I don't know how to develop for Android. ):
But if someone can teach me, I will learn.

My answer to this is:
It has really no sense to port Ubuntu touch to the I9300 as long as there isnt a proper CM10.1 Port.
CM10/10.1 is the main condition to make a smooth ubuntu touch possible.
Exynos Sources are the main condition for a good, stable and fluid CM10/10.1 (which we still haven't got from samsung )
So better try to contact samsung, flood them with requests for exynos sources and if you get them, not the crap around on internet and github, give it to the developers like codeworkx from CM and you'll see a progress.
Otherwise you can forget a fluid ubuntu touch.

It's for Verizon Galaxy S3, read the first post carefully.
Sorry for my bad English, I study it at this time.
Sent from my Galaxy S3. OF.
There is a version that works here. But it's with many bugs and lot's of things that just doesn't work. It would be nice if someone complete working cm for gt-i9300
New builds here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315397

There does not seem to be any plans for official support for deb, OFFICIAL SUPPORT, I have looked around a bit and there are some unofficial ports but there is more not working with deb than with flo. I expect to see something, just does not look like it will be soon.

Possibilities of an ubuntu touch port?

Well, as the title says, are there possibilities of an ubuntu touch port for Moto e?
I believe that some changes in kernel and device tree should be done to compile ubuntu touch.
I cannot do it myself as I lack the resourses to do so, but can someone do it?
There is a new porting guide if anyone is willing to try.
I start a study to port ubuntu touch to my moto e xt1021.
I am studying the requirements and preparing my environment to begin work.
let's see the evolution...

Question Successfully rooted Metro Pcs variant w/ Magisk and stock rom

Ive been rooting and tinkering with various different android phones for years now . Motorola has always been my favourite when it comes to rooting . Now my question is now what? I would love to finally pitch in on development starting with this device seeing as there is very little on this one as far as custom roms and what not. This device reminds me of the G7 Power with the A/B format. I was looking in on possibly bringing Ubuntu Touch to this device and as far as i can tell I just would need to make a halium kernal for it . Can someone maybe help me or tell me how incan possibly help on makimg that happen? Please bare with me . This is my very first time posting on this website . Im very savy when it comes to the android, ios and computers in general , Im running the stock rom and have done very little besides install some root apps. I would love to help out with any kind of development so please someone let me know . Ill be regularly checking my notifications and messages . Cheers!
I'm not a programmer, but I'd love to have LineageOS on my device. I haven't had the opportunity to play with Ubuntu Touch, but I assume that the F-droid store alone surpasses the app development for the Ubuntu Touch. Have fun!
Im suprised more people arent all over this device like when the G7 came out ....this device is awesome and the battery life alone is enough reason to want to buy it ...Guanma FTW!!

What i found appealing about Ubuntu Touch is i recently read that you can now run android apps on it and i totally agree Lineage would be awesome and an obvious first step to take with this device now that we know it can be rooted...also TWRP development is a must
So far I'm really happy with it. The only thing is with how big it is, people with smaller/weaker hands are going to have a tough time. Good to know about Ubuntu Touch supporting android apps!
I too just got a G Play (2021), after spending the past 8 yrs. with my beloved HTC Ones (m7,m9). Ironically, it was Motorola that I left for HTC. I've been somewhat impressed with this phone's performance in stock bloat (I mean stock TRIM). I came in here today not expecting to see much, if anything, on this phone; but I've found enough info to get me started.
TY XDA, for all your hard work.

I believe the OP use followed this guide.
[Guide] Root Motorola with Magisk (UnLocked Bootloader)(Non-TWRP method)
Root Motorola Devices with Magisk Note: This method has been working with most Moto Devices that the Bootloader can be UnLocked. If the Bootloader cannot be Unlocked this method will not work. Please only use this as a reference. If you require...
