Android Auto stopped working and now can't even install from APK - Huawei P30 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi guys
I had AA working perfectly on my p30 pro (android 10) and suddenly my car does not react to the phone. The weird stuff styarted to happen when I tried differect AA versions I had downloaded from APK mirror. initially the app installed but did not appear in the apps drawer, and under the settings->apps, I only had the option to disable\force stop options (no open and no uninstall). In order to uninstall the AA i had to use ADB, and now I cant even install AA and get the "app not install" error. Anyone knows how and what should I clean\reset in order to install the app again? I dont know even where to begin.. weirdest problem ive ever seen.
thanks!

As far as I know Android auto app doesn't appear in app drawer. Look up settings and search for Android auto. It's some kind of integrated within the system.

[Q] apps Update problem

After moving to 351 update (15609)
my apps were washed away. (thats ok, as I had too many apps installed anyway!)
Now, I have apks of all the softwares I had before, and which were useful.
Some are paid ones, of which I do not have the installer apks
For the free apps, which I installed without logging on to market, I am not able to see any update menu!
and they are not showing up in My apps (part in market) either.
-the "market" app has changed too (from what it was before.)
Help please.
Thanks,
Sony.
Another issue!
I see some notifications stick around a lot longer! (irritating!)
"Battery full Please remove charger" stays on for like 15 seconds.
Bluetooth voice dialing works well,
Wifi works with much better success rate of connecting!
MODs: Please rename thread as "Problems with 351 (15609)" or something similar.
Sony.
Note: I have already tried the Clear Cache solution.
_________
Damn: I tried to "Uninstall Updates for Market" in applications menu.
and now, the Market looks primitive!
whats wrong here!?
By uninstalling the market updates you went back to the oldest version of the market.
I can't help you with the apps, but it sounds as if you might need to flash your phone again.
Now new thing!
Today the phone got stuck at the lock screen (long time!)
then I restarted it through Power button long press.
Then the Dell logo kept coming again and again.. and it didnt boot~!
So, I removed the battery cover, and rebooted. then it was fine! (yikes)
I am on stock, no roots, no nothing yet!
Even the default update can cause problems?(Oh, I had not rebooted the phone since 2 days.. but I have gone longer before.. without the phone getting any slower!)
One thing is definitely mentionable though,
The battery life has been exceptional!!
Full charge in the morning (6 am - unplugged)
And, decent browsing (FB + gmail) + 40-50 mins of calls + games for 30-40 mins
and by 7 pm I still have 68% battery
That has been the case for past two days (since I upgraded 318 to 351)
@Strephon Alkhalikoi
you suggest, I flash the phone again?
hmm. Ok, will try that if nothing else works.
Any other suggestions on the table?
One more thing
I had used the Dell Backup and Restore > and used system settings restore too (in the options)
Just thought of putting it, as thats the only thing thats between the flash and the current problem. << (any relation?)
Help appreciated!
Sony
Re-flashed!
WEll,
i am officially going nuts!
I flashed the 351 update again.
everything nice and sweet..
But, hey!
Market is still behaving crazy!!
and App brain or anythin is also unable to do any good!
Guys! Please help!!
The Market is not showing apps, which I install off my SD card apks!!
whats wrong!?
Bonkers,
Sony
Anybody, yet?
Hey guys,
anybody ever faced such a problem?
Anybody know any solution ( that I havent mentioned in above posts? ).
Highly appreciate the help!
Sony.
When you install apks, they won't show in the market. You'll need to use an illegitimate market to show all installed apks (search google).

I did search google extensively!
My method of installing has a name: sideloading, (right?)
and, I see, that it 'does' show in the market for other guys!
and, Google search shows this as a sync-market issue!
people have some work arounds and all, but none is sure shot way of doing that.
I am looking for a solution.
Thanks,
Sony.
Are your free apps not showing up as installed either...
If you are using pirated apps they normally won't show up as installed, much less allow you to update without paying for them through the market.
Any free apps you use, you shouldn't install them from the sd card, rather install them directly from the market....

none of the apps are showing up (free + paid)
No pirated ones. Paid ones (only 2 of them, but, even those arent showing up!!)
About installing free apps from market-
well, that is one solution. but,
my question is exactly the corollary of that!
Why are sideloaded apps not showing up, when they did just finely show up, when I was on 318 !!?
What happens when you guys 'sideload' any app?
Let me know.
Thanks!
Sony.
P.S. People are discussing it on market.google.com/discussions as a 'market-sync' issue! as stated in prev post of mine.
*Sigh!*
Since google released their web-based market interface, the definitive list of apps on your phone (as shown in the market app) comes from the list on the website, which is the list of apps that were downloaded and installed through the market.
If you sideload something, it doesn't appear on this list.
In the past, pre- the web interface to the market, the definitive list was generated by the market app by scanning your phone. Not any more.
The only way now to get the apps to appear in the market app as installed is to install them through the market app (or market website).
Best workaround I know of is to use appbrain's app market. The app in that still scans your phone for the list, and can check for updates, and then uses the standard market to install the updates, so from then on the app is listed in the standard market.
So, basically, to get the apps listed in your standard market app's list, don't sideload.
Now, I just learned of a market backup program that you could have used beforehand, but that doesn't help much now :s.

[Q] Android market not installing apps

Hi,
I am facing a strange issue witg my android market app on samsung galaxy tab 10.1.
I have 4 applications in the not installed list.
I choose install for all 4 and give permissiin to install, the applications are not installing, they keep showing up in the not installed list.
What could be the issue.
The problem does not go away even after reboot.
Srikant
Sometimes i find that i have to try and install the app twice before it actually starts to download and install.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium App
What are the apps?
are they by any change apps you purchased on your Android phone and now want to install them on your tab? because not all apps for phones show up in the Market...

Try signing into Google Talk and then go back into the Market. I'm not positive about Honeycomb, but previous versions of Android have used Google Talk as a type of authenticator that the device is registered to a specific user.
I've had this problem as well, sometimes dis/re-connecting to wifi works.
Check your app drawer, they are probably installed. I've been having this problem too. They show up as not installed in the market, yet I'm using them. Use the market report form, and tell them what's happening. I did and they asked for more deets and screenshots.
What I've noticed: If you check the box to add a shortcut, it doesn't happen
If you click the app that says it's not installed, it will show buttons to install and uninstall. Tap install and the list updates, even though the thing was definitely installed before. It has only happened with paid apps, but that may be a coincidence.
Again, report this stuff so they can address it.

[Q] Titanium Backup attaching apps to market

Hi. I seem to have had no problem attaching all my apps to the market with Titanium Backup's Market Doctor, however sometimes I've noticed when I install an apk and try to attach that app to the market, it just won't work. It says it's successful, but if I run the Market Doctor again the same app is there. I rebooted once and it seemed to fix the problem and I was able to attach a couple apps, but now it's back to not attaching. Also, if I detach an app it won't even allow me to attach it back afterwards. It just seems like there's an issue with attaching, but only sometimes. Any help would be much appreciated.

Is the app in question showing installed when you search for it in the market?
Yes it does say installed when I find it in the market. And I know to make it show up in the "My Apps" section you just need to download another app. It's when I run Market Doctor once, it says it was successful but I run it again and the app never actually was attached.
Try shooting an email off to the dev maybe? He's usually pretty responsive..
Attaching installed apps to the market does absolutely nothing for me tbp....
The apps don't even show up as installed..

the latest version is supposed to help with this. you may want to look for the update. Hope this helps.
I seem to have the newest version which is 3.9.0. So I don't think that's it.

[Q] chainfire3d gone

hi, i've got a small problem, i was trying to get tegra games working on my gs2, downloaded the chainfire3d app, but after i rebooted the app is gone, and also nowhere to be found in app history in store, but when i want to download it again it says incompatible update, and can't download. Is there any way i can delete it entirely, maybe someone knows where it's situated?
It might provide the functionality it describes but not necessarily show up in Application list. Application list in launchers is for programs that provide GUI by themselves. Like, Busybox does not show up in Applications, but is still there, or many background services.
You should check Settings->Applications->All to see if the program is installed. It probably installed fine, hence, you cannot update it.
And, Jeez, you scared the crap out of me. My first thought after reading thread title was "This must be some friend of chainfire3d, and something bad must have happened to him, and this friend is announcing it, I remember a developer by similar nick who contributes on this forum"
I've got Chainfire3D installed and it shows up in my app drawer.
With this app you have to have access to the GUI to load GPU modules, set which GPU module to use and to set other settings.
I'm not sure what the OP's problem is but Chainfire3D should definitely show up in the app draw.
I installed Chainfire3D to try and get Simcity Deluxe to work but I just ran into errors when I got the game going.
Anyone have any luck with Simcity Deluxe?
Same problem for me

I am having the exact same problem as you do. Chainfire 3d used to work perfectly until it suddenly disappeared from my apps after a reboot. I haven't flashed any sort of custom roms or kernels(using the stock rom). When I do try to download it from google play, it says it is an incompatible update. Anybody out there knows where exactly are the cf3d drivers situated within the phone memory? When I try to install an older version of cf3d, it asks me to replace the application even though cf3d is not present in my apps, then it fails to replace. So, how do I remove the drivers completely from my phone and do a clean install of cf3d?
same problem here...any fix yet...
bump 10 char
same probleme
it's very simple
people who got chainfire 3d gone from app list just re install it again you will have now 2 chainfire icon , one normal and the other tell chainfire is not installed on your phone , just reboot your phone manually after that you will get just one chainfire icon which works perferctly sorry my english is horrible i know lol

Google Settings crashing, impossible to view or change any system setting

Hi, I have an old HTC U11+ with Android 9 that works perfectly, at least until a few days ago.
For a few days now I've been experiencing problems with system applications, problems never encountered before... the settings application doesn't work, I see the window for an instant and then it disappears.
I tried to upgrade/downgrade apps such as "Android System webview" and "Chrome", without solving it.
I don't know what else to try... is there any way to reinstall all the system apps?

Hi! I'm having the same problem with the HTC U11 android 9. It just happened. I took my phone to a phone tech and he told me that I needed to do a hard reboot. (back to factory settings) However, that would delete all the data and pictures, music..etc.... In other words, I'll lose EVERYTHING! I need to back up the phone and have tried several different programs on my laptop to achieve that, but they all require USB debugging to be enabled. Which I can't get to because I can't access the settings on my phone. I also need to save some photos from a locked folder in the phone, as it crashes when I try to enter the locked folder. It crashes just as the pattern entry window opens. .
A hard reboot is out of the question. I need to save everything on this phone, so any help would be seriously appreciated!

HI, which are these programs requiring USB debugging? I have it enabled, but with "Dr.Fone" or "Droidkit" I have not solved this issues... both say that function "repairing system" is available only for Samsung models
As you can see in this short clip
Got it!
Uninstalled Google updatesm and now Settings app is not crashing anymore.

Go on the play store and get short cut maker by Rishikesh kamewar. You can literally make your own short cut to anything in your phone. All settings. All options. All activities. Does not need root and is free. I had the same problem with several parts of my settings. Click on it and the damn thing ****s it's self. This is how I get around it. Use the shortcut and it doesn't trip whatever is making the crash.
