Help disable windows.mgr_max_events_per_sec - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I put this command "windows mgr.max_events_per_sec=0" my sensitivity was very fast, but I lost a lot of performance in the cell phone, I already changed several values (60,90,750,500,300 and etc) and continues with the fast sensitivity and very weak performance. I want to disable this setting I've already tried all the ways and I can't
SOMEBODY HELP M

@higorjk
It seems to me you've NO knowledge what Android's WindowManager is, how it works.
IMHO trying to prevent WindowsManager to handle events is absolute NONSENSE.

HTC HD2 battery suspend problems

Hi, I've searched extensively on this and other forums about this issue with no luck...
My problem is my HD2 (1.72.841.0 telstra ROM) has stopped suspending when unplugged from AC power. Changing the backlight settings from sound & display doesn't help. This modifies HKLM/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Power/Timeouts/BattSuspendTimeout to the corresponding number of seconds. However, the phone stays on. I would have thought I have a hardware problem where it thinks it is still on AC power, but other battery-specific tmings, like dimming screen, are working.
Setting BattUserIdle to some values works (it either has to be <=120 or <= BattSuspendTimeout, haven't worked out which). However, something is resetting this to 0 after a while and I don't know what or when.
This is killing my battery life & driving me nuts. Manual suspend is not a good solution because it stops music playback after current song. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on?
I've done a little extra testing on this problem. By setting the AC power suspend settings to five minutes I've been able to confirm that the HD2 isn't going into suspend from AC power, either. BattUserIdle, and the backlight dimming settings, must use a different set of rules to decide when the device has been idle. So I'm suspecting there is a process/service running on my HD2 that is keeping it awake. The question would be what? The only things I can think of that have changed just before the problem started is I installed Schap's Setup VoIP (v0.3), and I set up a push email account through windows live. I can't uninstall Schap's Setup VOIP (uninstall fails); I'll give disabling the push email a try...
Well, after trialling disabling Windows Live push email it looks like this is the culprit. I take it BattUserIdle must be the time from last user interaction to standby, while BattSuspendTimeout must be affected both by user interaction and by certain system activity. Push email keeping it awake must surely be a bug. Has anyone else been using Windows Live or other push email? I'd like to hear other people's experiences on this.

[Q] phone process priority

Is it possible to raise the process priority for the phone app? I've noticed that when the processor is under heavy load and I try to place a call it can take up to a minute between pressing the call button and the call to actually go through. Since this is a phone, after all, I would like the phone parts to take priority over whatever app happens to be hogging the processor at the moment. Can this be done?
Possible, probably not worth the trouble.
I've only discovered one tool that will change process priority, it is part of the SDK, which leads me to believe the process priority it written into the Java script for the program, the list of applicable code I found here. There is a somewhat easier alternative which I believe will help you with your desired end result, use the free Market app AutoKiller Memory Optimizer. It allows to control at what level of available memory the system will automatically kill a process based on the process class. The developer page has sufficiently detailed information about what each class is and there are varoius default settings as well it is fully customizable.
It seems that Autokiller Memory Optimizer came with my ROM (KaosFroyo). Any suggestions on what the optimal settings are? I see the listings on the developer website, but it seems like most people are just using the defaults (or maybe what the ROM set).
Which ROM are you on? It doesn't lag making calls on XTRSense. It is slightly overclocked and runs good.

KaosFroyo. I have had this lag with every ROM I've tried.
Define what you mean by a heavy load and what you are doing to make it work hard. Our phones aren't high end at all and although it does run faster on these ROMs, it still can be choked.

Any process that slows the phone down. Installing a new app is a common culprit. I often don't know what it's doing because it's doing it in the background.
I am more than aware of the phone's limitations, but I think that, given that it is a phone, the phone's processor scheduler should ensure that the parts that make it function as a phone get highest priority, even to the point of totally stopping other processes.
One other thing I've noticed is that the lag is often correlated with the data indicator being active. I know that on CDMA the data connection can't be active during a call, so could it be waiting for the data connection to turn off? Is there a way to make this happen faster? For some reason this happens even when the phone is on wifi, but I'm not clear on whether the 3G connection is turned off when the phone is on wifi.

You can use Systempanel to see what processes are running. In my case Youtube, Maps, Google search, Pandora, and Shazam randomly start backup processes. I downloaded Autokiller to see if it keeps them ended. The only concern I have is I want to be reasonably sure it wont end the alarm process.
The thing is I don't particularly care about these processes running. Given the limited resources of the phone I think it is a fruitless task to try to keep it from ever getting slow and still enjoy all of the awesomeness of Android. I just want the actual calling parts to be able to take top priority no matter how slow the rest of the phone is running, just like most desktop OSes give the mouse high priority.

[Q] Bypassing all hardware filtering to access the rawest audio signal

Hello,
I'm currently working on a noise monitoring app, and there is some signal processing being done -analog and digital gains throughout the acquisition system mostly- that I can't access or get rid off using solely the methods of the android.media.AudioRecord class.
My feeling is that active noise cancellation or automatic gain control are always done at a lowest level, whatever the chosen options when creating an instance of the forementioned class.
I would like to be able to access these and get the corresponding info or disable them, but I guess this is all manufacturer dependent, and I don't know where to look for.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Alcatel 5020n one touch "evolve" wifi/oom/touch tweak help?

Hello all, new here, hope this is the right place for this post...
I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find anything relevant, so maybe someone here may have some insight. To start, it is (Kingo) rooted stock ROM android 4.1.2, build M36UP61, kernel 3.4.0, just to avoid confusion... Here's the issues numbered so I can correlate answers for each:
1) WiFi will occasionally drop, but the issue is that after (I assume) 5 retries, it leaves the AP as "disabled", and I want it to never do that, like my kyocera hydro, which relentlessly retries until it gets a connection to a known AP. Essentially, to never give up on a known AP for any reason, even if having to connect at least once first. I can find nothing in build.prop or sysctl that seems to relate to this behavior, unless I missed something. Additionally, WiFi will drop despite >-72dB signal unless I am actually watching the WiFi AP settings screen for some reason. I have made minor tweaks to build.prop, however this behavior was occurring prior to rooting.
2) I am getting what appears to be OOM-related FCs (no toast ANRs, just a halt back to launcher), yet with what should be enough RAM and spare CPU at the time. This behavior also prior to rooting, and have tweaked some improvement, but it is apparently not enough. I have not messed around too much with DavlikVM settings, as it still is as intimidating as sysctl for me as a newbie at Linux. I have tried to logcat, but can't get a dump at all, it just doesn't seem to log in time. Am I looking at the wrong log?
3) Touch screen locks, and takes all hardware function with it, even just on the home screen. Hardware power and volume don't respond and touchscreen coordinates are locked in place (I have show touches enabled) with no change in anything else; game/app keeps running smoothly, but is convinced that I have frozen holding (or not holding) my touches in place. Recovers in anywhere between 15 seconds to never, requiring me to pull the battery. Persistent after factory reset (did prior to rooting), occurs only when cfq(?) governor is topped at 1001MHz regardless of CPU load. Occasionally multi touch (max 2) fails intermittently, or averages between them (hold both ends and it shows one touch in the middle).
Just to add, any way to kill autocorrect's tendency to put the wrong word in place of a correctly-spelled one in its dictionary? (Changed dictionary to functionary for no reason, both in database). Also, smaller functions drop out, like WiFi icon stops responding, autocorrect suggestions disappear at random, etc.
