Hdmi out - realme x2 pro - Realme X2 Pro Accessories

Hi all,
For those who want to use their smartphone through HDMI, I am using a targus adapter, there are many brands but it must be "DisplayLink" certified.
It works great and lag-free in general use but apparently runs at 30FPS in games.
I bought the used ACA40US targus model for 6 dollars on eBay because it was the most compact and cheap I found, but it needs a USB-to-USB-C adapter, I use a usb-c hub that I had from a previous smartphone and so I can charge while use.
In summary, to use the HDMI output on the realme x2 pro, you only need a certified "DisplayLink" adapter, a USB to USB-C adapter and the display link App, and activate the USB OTG option.
Optionally you can also use the App "SecondScreen - better screen mirroring" from the play store, to change the resolution and choose the best setting for your TV.
Some Targus already bring the adapter to USB-C or are directly for use with USB-C, but they were more expensive.

Cable doubt
Hello,
I bought an Xtorm USB-C to HDMI cable model CX2111 but I wasn't aware it need to be a DisplayLink certified cable. I searched a lot of the cable but cant find any related info if its certified DisplayLink.
I installed the DisplayLink app that you suggest, also the SecondScreen app and no signal, and I have a doubt.. you rooted you Realme X2 Pro?
I'm asking because I dont have signal on my TV or Monitor from Realme X2 Pro with Xtorm CX2111 cable.
Best regards
Nestor

Hi! This could be OT, but can you share your wallpaper?
Sent from my Realme X2 Pro using XDA Labs

I tried this docking station
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/acc100184/
everything works!
Lan, 3.5mm audio jack, all USB, Display Port, obviously DISPLAYLINK.
This is my experience.
Edit:
I had to buy a USB C male to USB 3.0 female adapter and enable the OTG settings from the smartphone...

Loved your wallpaper, Care for link? ?

hi all, this is my wallpaper, it's from the book A street cat named Bob

may we know what brand of usb-c hub you using ? is it ok to use other brands?

Pixel usc C to hdmi adapter

Has anyone used an hdmi adapter yet? I was wondering if I should purchase the usb c to hdmi adapter from Google or if it's okay to purchase a cheaper adapter on Amazon. Also, what type of adapter is the pixel compatible with? Slimport, mhl, or DP alt mode? Any suggestions would be appreciated. (Amazon.com or newegg preferred)
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I believe there was an article about how the Pixels don't have a specific USB C capability needed to output video, so there's no point in getting the C->HDMI adapter cause it won't work.
EDIT: Found it.

Someone in the comments said to have used a slimport hdmi adapter. I am not sure if he meant the Pixel phone. I can't use my chromecast at my work since they use enterprise encryption.

It might not be much of a consolation, but if you get the new CC (gen3) at least it will have an ethernet port. Assuming your enterprise wifi and corporate wired networks can talk, that might be a solution.
Display link adapters work as well.

Someone mentioned a compatible dock with hdmi on Amazon
For the HP Elite USB C Docking Station someone wrote in the Review section on Amazon: "The only docking station I found, that can charge the new Google Pixel while connecting usb devices (like hdds, keyboard) and an external montitor. " So I guess this dock supports hdmi for the Pixel.
I just got my Pixel yesterday and haven't tried anything but I have several USB C accessories for my Desk XPS 13. I'll try them out tomorrow to see what happens - can't get to it today, sorry.

USB-C HDMI Support?

Does devices has USB-C HDMI support like S8, LG G5?
up!
Doesn't seem to work on my first attempt. Reason I was ditching my Moto Z as it didn't work on that. Always worked fine on my LG G5 and on pre USB C Samsungs. At least it does have miracast though Moto didn't even have that.
Tried again after updates, still no joy after system update 47.1.A.8.49
The screen does seem to detect an HDMI input but it's black and the phone doesn't mention it.

XZ1 does NOT support MHL and DisplayPort-over-USB-C HDMI adapters. They won’t work on the device. That means you’ll have to use a wireless method ( e.g Miracast or Chromecast) to connect to your TV
Hi,
A Reddit user has successfully tested one method to display content via HDMI
Thread : https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/comments/9futz7/displaying_content_via_hdmi_on_xz_xz1
Anyone have any feedback on this method ?

The missing link is the keyword "DisplayLink"! A "DisplayPort alt mode" USB-C to HDMI cable would be cheaper and smaler, but this DisplayLink dongle does the job, too! :good:
"WAVLINK UG-3501H" (DisplayLink certified dl-3500 chipset) + USB-A to USB-C adapter/cable
After installing the app "DisplayLink Presenter" and a reboot, the picture was shown via HDMI.
I tested the this device with these smartphones:
1. Sony XZ1 (USB 3.1)
2. ZTE Axon 7 Mini (USB 2.0, like the XZ1 Compact)
Hello, and thank you SGH-i200 for this tip, but I'm not sure to understand, why this item you propose is suppose to work better than other USB adaptator ?
I'm needing to be chanrging my Xz1 while plugged to a screen and a Bluetooth keyboard, it seems that this item is not giving option to charge my phone at the same time, how to find any adaptator that is "displaylink" ? I've made hours of research now, and still don't get anything..
Thank you !

Maybe you can try to use a USB type C docking station which supports DisplayLink. eBay and Amazon are full of DisplayLink adapters and docking stations.
In order to use a hub, you need a kernel that allows to active USB host mode and charging at the same time! Only same custom kernels allow this combination.

Thanks,
I buy it from ebay, tested today
WAVLINK UG-3501H + Ugreen type-c to usb + Sony XZ1 + Monitor 1080P = video + audio (I can't check resolution)
But,
For Sony = WAVLINK UG-3501H == 26-39$
For Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ Plus / Macbook/huawei mate10 P20 (pro) = USB-C Type-C to HDMI == 6-18$

Trying to replace a Lenovo USB-C HUB C112 that is not recognized by my Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact
Do you know if any DisplayLink mini hubs would be compatible too ?
Does anyone has tested Vantec SB 3.0 Universal Mini Docking Station Adapter with HDMI/DVI (DSH-M100U3) with Xperia XZ1 (Compact)?
Also, I read this : "...It appears that some Android devices do not go into USB host mode..."
Could it be what happen with my Lenovo USB-C HUB C112 ?

Did you check what is shown in a USB diagnostic app like this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=aws.apps.usbDeviceEnumerator

MHL or USB-C video support?

I know this is not a popular feature these days, but I figure I would ask. Does this support any sort of video output via a cable? MHL dongle, USB-C to HDMI dongle, etc.
I would love to hook it up to a TV to play emulator games with no input lag.
Sorry I can not answer your question but I got to say that usb-c video out is criminally underrated. It is such an amazing and hassle free feature. I really hope it catches on. If you ask me its because for some reason its not advertised. I only know about it because I Googled it out of curiosity. 2 days and $15 later I had one of my own.

I would love to have this feature too. Would love to run something like Sentio Desktop or better still MIUI Desktop Mode (once they implement it). I would even buy this phone solely for this purpose.
I have the same question, can we use a cable usb c to hdmi in order to connect poco f1 to a tv.
The snapdragon 845 doas support it so it should work
But it doesn't work on some Sony smartphones with the supported soc
bro to clarify, actually usb type c is 3.0 port, and it does support reverse charging, dex, audio peripherals etc (according to USB corporation). but midrange and budget flagships like poco, oneplus does not provide 3.0 connectivity via those ports. they put a c type look-a-like port but it is micro usb wiring done on board. you can charge using any type c branded cable and transfer data but at 2.0 speed and the features you asked may not work. only limited manufacturers like lg, sony, samsung only provide real type c 3.0 or 3.1 port connectivity.
hope this clarifies something.

Does it work on Poco?
USB C video doesn't work. Already tested. There's already a thread and few users like me tested with such accessories. MHL also doesn't work (not tested by me but some other user) search general section.
I wonder if it can be enabled by software, though. There are much older phones without USB-C that can do it. Shouldn't USB 2 provide enough bandwidth?

As far as I understand it's a hardware issue, as in the hardware doesn't support it. I'm sure the USB type C port is just for charging and file transfer at USB 2.0 speeds

Question USB-C to HDMI adapter

Hi.
Does Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G supports any HDMI adapter?
I want to connect my older, not smart TV to watch Netflix when I go to country side.

Bump.. @si3wc4 did you get it working? Anyone else?
Tested with a USB-C mini-dock, the Mi 11 lite 5G/NE doesn't have DP-alt mode, so it's not compatible with Type-C to HDMI cables/dock. The main reason for it is probably the lack of USB 3.1 (the connector is just USB 2.0).
Yes, that's one thing many people don't realize, a USB Type C connector is a guarantee of nothing.
The same thing goes for USB Type C cables.
If in doubt cut the cable with scissors and see how many conductors (pairs) it has. Of course this kills the cable.
If device is USB 2.0 the most video connectivity it might have would be to use an actual video adapter, but that is a separate frame buffer than the screen.
Unrelated: I use a Raspberry Pi Zero W connected over Bluetooth to my Android.
The RPi has an HDMI output I can use for my own digital signage style application.
The HDMI shows text and is completely unrelated to my Android's screen.

Using the Tab S7 Plus as a single display!

I was wondering if it is possible to use the tab s7 plus as a monitor/tv to connect my pc or nintendo switch to using a hdmi usb-c hub.
My son cracked my 55 inch oled tv and dont feel like using my pc monitor.
I have looked and have seen ways to use a capture card but there were some comments that there is possible lag, also other ways like using SuperDisplay which works fantastic for pc but cant use nintendo switch or anything else with it. Is there a way to use it with ugreen usb hub?
UGREEN USB C Hub 4K 60Hz, USB C Adapter 100W Power Delivery, 2 USB 3.0 Ports, SD/Micro SD Card Reader, Compatible with Macbook Pro/Air 2020 2019, Surface, iPad Pro, HP XPS and More: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
Buy
www.amazon.co.uk
Thank-you.
Well, in theory, USB capture cards can work if they have ANDROID App support in general, but yes, the input lag might be high, it could suck for gaming and even the quality is questionable. Instead of buying some "expensive" capture cards, you could grab some second-hand TV or a smaller PC monitor.
Regarding that Ugreen USB hub, that won't work. That HDMI port is OUTPUT, and it's mentioned in the specs. That means it will only output your TAB's screen to an external display.
