[Q] Motorola problem with Chromecast

Has anyone had any problems with Chromecast with their Motorola devices? My droid razr will not detect the Chromecast on my network via the Chromecast app, but it will cast content from Netflix and YouTube, but all of the Google Play services are missing the "cast" button within the app. All of my Google Play services are running the most up to date versions. I have contacted Google and they claim it is a manufacturer's problem and I have contacted Motorola and they say it is a software issue with Google. I am going out of my mind trying to get this device to work with my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Offline Viewing on MiBox 4K

I got the MiBox 4K so I could watch Google Play content in my backyard, outside of WiFi range. I realized quickly that the Android TV version of Google Play Movies and TV does not support downloading. I'm still trying to figure out something before returning it.
I have sideloading working and am trying to install the full version of the Google Play Movies and TV and then use Chainfire's Sideload Launcher to run it. Unfortunately, I get a "Did not install" message after going through the install process. I'm wondering if this a hard rule on Android TV or if I've made some other mistake in APK choice or security settings.
thanks for any help!
you can't replace system app, if you want do this, you must root your device and delete this applications from /system/app

I need help!

I have updated my LG G watch to android wear 2.0 and i want to see if I can add wifi to the watch somehow because the google play store requires it. I also want to see if I can add watch faces using my computer because, as i said, the google play store is not working without wifi.

[LG GOOGLE TV] Apps dont work.

Hi,
I know that google discontinued their tvs but there must be a way around to get all the apps working?
Tv basically wont access internet for some reason. Every app is useless. Good thing is we use roku so dont depend on the apps but I'd like to start using youtube, send videos directly to tv to load and watch. Is this possible now a days?
Nvm roku has youtoob app.

Keep Mi Box S or replace it with a Raspberry Pi 3?

I just got the Mi Box S, and finding it quite limiting..
The play store won't let you install non androidTV apps, and if you install it via downloading some APK's, the apps show up wayy in the bottom of the apps list among the "system apps"..
I installed an sshd , but it is limited to its own folder only!
So in general, too ugly.. My aim was to watch things like netflix or BBC iplayer with it and maybe chromecast to it.
I can still return it.. Shall I return it and get something like a Raspberry Pi 3 instead (4's are too expensive). I'm good with linux and frankly, I miss it with this machine.. If I get a Pi, what should I install on it to turn it into a TV box?
Thanks, -t
Stick with the Mi Box..all your problems are either not problems at all or are perfectly solvable
Netflix has it's own android tv app, not sure what problem you're facing there.
Sideloaded APKs can easily show up if you install an app called Launcher
BBC iplayer also has a android tv app, you can install via playstore or sideload..either works.
Use your sshd for storing movies etc and ideally don't use as internal storage as that will slow down apps a lot.
Don't install too many apps, only those you plan to use regularly, remove others.
