Wireless display Miracast on AOSP ROMs. - Redmi Note 9S / Note 9 Pro (Indian Model) Guides,

If you want to get Miracast screen mirroring in the cast settings here is what I figured out works.
Enable magisk module --Miracast on pixel devices--
After you reboot you'll be in a boot loop so in lwtwrp in file manager delete the module.
When you restart again in the cast fast settings tile search for devices, press settings, and there will be another menu enabled now in the top right.
Just enable wireless display and you're good.
Works for Roku and a bunch of other devices that weren't showing up.
I'm using evolution rom. Fresh install.

Thanks.
Anyone tried this on GSI rom?

[ROM] Bluetooth Tether ROM for Omate TrueSmart 1.1.1 [2014-04-25]

Changes for 1.1.1:
-Fix issues with being unable to reconnect after a disconnect -- no more needing to reboot after a disconnect
-Fix issue where the check box needed to connect to another device would not show up sometimes
-Fixed a blank toast message that was trying to report a disconnect, now shows a proper error message
-Updated boot logo to one with the teamwin text
1.1.1 is currently only being released as a patch to apply on top of an existing 1.0.0 install.
If you are already running 1.0.0, simply install the update zip. No wiping is needed for the update.
If you don't have my ROM installed right now, you will need to factory reset, install both the 1.0.0 zip followed by the 1.1.1 zip.
There is only one update zip for all models.
We need someone who has a 1GB/8GB/2100MHz model to contact us and supply a boot image from this model of device so that we can offer a properly working boot.img.
Mirror 1
Mirror 2
What this ROM does not have:
-Gestures for back and menu do not work out of he box (there's an Xposed module that you can install to enable them that is free in the Play Store or another app that does not need Xposed documented further down in this post)
-Status bar does not hide itself
-Home + Power does not take a screenshot (Xposed can add screenshot options to the power menu)
-No companion mode that lets you receive calls, texts -- use SWApp Link free in the Play Store for this
-AGPS assistance data doesn't download by default. Use GPS Status and Toolbox to download it instead. GPS is confirmed working.
-Camera is rotated 90 degrees
-If you open the camera app and press the button to use the non-existant front facing camera, the app will FC. You will have to clear app data on the camera app to use the camera again.
-Many APNs are not included. You might have to add yours manually. This is a tethering ROM, not intended to be used with a SIM card.
-Some of the numbers on the stock dialer are not accessible - may be able to fix this with xposed and change the app's dpi.
What this ROM does have that stock Omate does not:
-Fully working native Bluetooth tethering to your phone including push notifications
-Fully working settings app including the ability to delete and change account settings
-Already has EnSec and build prop tweaks
-SuperSU
This is built using some MTK 6572 source for a different device. As such some things will be a lot different and that is the reason that items like the gestures for back and menu do not work.
You do not have to start with a stock ROM. This ROM will completely replace your existing system and boot/kernel.
Download the correct zip for your device. If you don't see your model listed, contact us and DO NOT install:
Mirror 1
Mirror 2
Install TWRP if you haven't and make a backup of your existing System, Data, and Boot
Factory reset
Install zip and reboot. First boot will take longer than usual
On first boot you will see the Welcome screen. Tap in the 4 corners of the app itself (not including the status bar) in a clockwise fashion (see here).
On your phone, turn on Bluetooth, enable Bluetooth tethering, and make your phone visible for pairing
On the watch, open settings. If you don't have a SIM card in the watch, go to more and check the box for airplane mode.
Turn on Bluetooth, find and pair with your phone.
Click on the Settings icon to the right of your phone's name (this is on the watch) Tap on Internet access.
Enjoy!
You will probably want to install Xposed:
You'll probably want to download All in one gestures from the Play Store.
Open Xposed Installer in app drawer, tap on Frameworks. Tap Install/Update. Grant root rights.
Still in Xposed, hit Ok after the install is done. Press the back button (icon in the upper left will also go back). Click on Modules. Check the box for GravityBox and All in one gestures (and probably any other modules).
Still in Xposed, hit back, Frameworks. Scroll down and reboot. Click Okay.
After reboot, open app drawer and find GravityBox, scroll down to Power tweaks. Check the top box for Advanced reboot menu and the box for Screenshot.
Open the All in one gestures app. Tap on the Swipe tab. Enable it. Scroll down to Left Area and tap on it. Choose Menu. Scroll down and tap on Right Area and choose Back.
Click on the All in one gestures icon in the upper left to slide open the menu. Tap on Transparency & Color. Slide the second slider all the way to the left to get rid of the glowing icons on the left and right.
You now have screen shot capability and have restored the stock gestures.
Press and hold power. Press Reboot. Press Reboot. Press OK.
Other recommended apps:
PNF or Push Notifications Fixer - You can use this app to change the frequency that the watch pings Google. When your phone changes connections (e.g. mobile network to Wi-Fi) the framework notifies all apps including apps like Hangouts that the connection has changed so that those apps can reconnect and get push notifications. Unfortunately your phone will not tell your watch when connections change. This app will help you start getting push notifications sooner after a connection change.
GMD Gesture Control - The free version can add a back button gesture. You'll have to buy the paid version to get the menu gesture back.
If you install Xposed framework, you can install this free module called All in one gestures and tweak it to enable gestures for the back and menu buttons.
Notes:
Bluetooth tethering had to be slowed down quite a bit to prevent the driver from crashing. We've slowed it down by setting the tcp buffer sizes really low. You can change the values of net.tcp.buffersize.bt to tweak it if you like. The crash seems to be kernel level or maybe even chip / hardware level.
Bluetooth on MTK is somewhat unstable. If it disconnects due to a driver crash, you may have to reboot the device to get Bluetooth working again. With version 1.1.1, you can probably just reconnect without having to reboot.
I am very busy. I probably won't have time to provide much support for this ROM. I don't owe you anything. If you don't like this ROM, I'll refund your full purchase price of free.

Thanks but after installing goomanager. It says denied supers request. How do I fix that? How do u boot in recovery mode if my power button isn't doing anything when I press it? When I want to back up of my system is that done via goomanager or supersu?
Sorry for all these questions as I'm not familiar with this process.

You are a great dev Dees. It's people like you that make this place what it is, a haven for tech lovers. Great job!
First thing I did was install myglass app and try and connect it to glass and it still crashes. Oh well hopefully we are going to get something good out of the source release. Thanks Dee's for all you do.
Sigh.... after reading this I got up to install the patch. The watch slipped off my wrist and fell on the floor. The metal clamp came off but I was able to put it back on then found out the power button wasn't working. I don't know if it was the result of the fall but while I was looking at supersu I might have hit on something and the watch rebooted then got stuck until the battery drained out. Is it possible that the power button was disabled?
WOW, so I get mt watches on a Thursday and the best ROM yet comes out on Friday? I couldn't be more excited .. Awesome!
Not that I wont be installing this , just a quick question.. @Dees_Troy what version on the standard android mail client is included in this rom? I havent been able to get my watch logged into exchange. this is a big deal for me as I need to calendar to sync my appointments. Email and contacts from exchange on my watch are not that big a deal for me but the appointments are. Thanks and looking forward to checking out your efforts..
I use gravitybox to enable the navigation bar @60% on stock rom, but can't get it enabled with this rom. is it completely pulled from the framework or is there some other trick to enable the navbar?
Installation aborted
While attempting to install this ROM, I keep receiving the 'Installation aborted' message in recovery. I'm running Loki's setup on my 1/8/1900mhz Omate. Also, when I plug my watch in to my laptop with USB debugging mode on I cannot execute any adb command prompts.
I don't know if the two are related...but I'm sure it is something I screwed up.
Any thoughts?
After install I am having apn issues. On Loki's operative I can get H+ data but only Edge with this. Any suggestions? GoPhone APN settings are correct and have also tried the Att one too.
Everything else seems great so far. Testing BT with Glass next. Will update the post afterwards.
edit#1- I can successfully pair Glass as a headset and also bluetooth tether data. MyGlass does not force close but will not connect when it sees the device.
edit#2- APN settings are borked for HSPA+....

[MOD][4.4/5.x/6.0] No Lock Home v2.2.0 (WiFi/BTS Unlock)

For No Lock Home v0.6.4 for Android 4.4.x see the content:
No Lock Home is Xposed module for lockscreen bypass based on network connectivity - when you're home, connected to your trusted WiFi AP, lock screen will not be shown (or you can set it up to display Swipe to unlock lockscreen). Once you disconnect from your AP, your default secured lockscreen will be displayed.
It's the very same principle as uses app SkipLock (formerly Unlock With WiFi) or it can be achieved using Tasker with Secure Settings. You can also try SmartLockScreen.
Similar functionality is also partialy integrated into Android 5.0.
So why use No Lock Home instead?
It works with any unlock method (Swipe/Face Unlock/Pattern/PIN/Password/...) - including fingerprint reader on Samsung Galaxy S5 (stock ROM w/ TouchWiz)
It's easy to setup (compared to complexity of Tasker). No Lock Home only requires you to enable module, reboot and add AP MAC address (using just two taps)
It's completely Free
Next to the built-in unlocking in Android 5.0, using No Lock Home is the fastest and most efficient solution (because it integrates itself directly into the system keyguard)
Additional advantages:
Unlock based on connected WiFi networks, Bluetooth devices or Cell towers
No service, no wakelock, no internet connectivity - just a few method hooks within system keyguard
Crazy small apk
Using AOSP methods which are also available in Samsung/LG devices as well as CyanogenMod
Limitations
Xposed required (therefore root required)
Version 0.x is for Android 4.4.x/KitKat only (no 5.0 Lollipop)
As seen on XDATV...
...and other tubes
It has been tested on Android 4.4.2-4 - Samsung Galaxy S5 (stock & CM11), LG G Pad 8.3 (stock & CM11), Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 (CM11). Since version 0.5.3 it's also compatible with OnePlus and HTC so all Android (4.4+) phones should be covered.
Download
No Lock Home is also available from Xposed Module Repository (QR code below) and Google play.

v0.1.0 (20140629)
- Initial release
No Lock Home v2.0 is Xposed module for Android 5.x/6.0. It's core functionality is based on TrustManagerService from GravityBox implementation. Just like with the KitKat version of No Lock Home, this solution has benefits like no background running service or best compatibility with various unlock methods.
Advantages of this module (reasons for spin off):
GravityBox is designed for AOSP so using it even for WiFi unlock alone on CyanogenMod breaks some CM features.
No Lock Home offers additional features: using AP MAC addresses, skipping first unlock after device boot, unlocking on any WiFi network, cell tower (BTS) unlock
Additional notes
CyanogenMod profiles alone offer lockscreen settings but it's impossible to configure it for both WiFi and BT (using it with Google's Smart Lock for BT is somehow buggy)
Using No Lock Home for WiFi and Google's Smart Lock for BT work just fine therefore this No Lock Home doesn't duplicate such functionality
Download: Xposed repo or Play Store

v2.1.0 (20160710)

More WFI hotspots? Might team up with wifi scheduler app.
Great app. I'll start using now. Suggestions for future releases:
- Set a list of more Trusted MACs (with name for identification). EDIT: Just saw how to do it, but a more friendly UI is always appreciated.
- Option to set which type of lockscreen we want (No lockscreen at all/normal lockscreen)
- App icon on launcher
Keep up the great work.

Agreed, it'd be super cool if you could choose to have a secure lockscreen when off a saved AP and an unsecured/swipe lockscreen when connected to a saved one.
awesome. using it on my rooted nexus 5.
more than one AP would be cool and no lock while connected to bt carkit would be nice.
I used a tasker profile for that, but if home was pressed, lockscreen showed up regardless
Great app
Really great App !!! But it doesn't work on my N4 4.4.4 - stock rooted...
Install App + checked it in Xposed-> rebooted -> checked my MAC -> rebooted.... still nothing.
I use Pattern lock.
What am I doing wrong ?
Thank you
Ok. Works!
Working cool at Nexus5.
Enabling multiple hotspots would be good, and to make it through SSID instead of MAC. Also with BT carkit audio
works well on Moto G with 4.4.3

Great great great! Have been looking for such app for a long time, now finally one that does it well. Thank you!
Also looking forward to the disable lock by Bluetooth function. It will be very convenient to have it when out of home but in some relatively secure place, such as in the car.
Works perfectly on Galaxy Tab Pro on Android 4.4.2.

Good app, working well. I wish better interface for editing the macs list, including small name with indication of active mac.

Working great on galaxy note 2 4.4.2

Cast / Mirroring Icon - Notification Pull Down Menu?

is this feature stock on the galaxy view? i don't have the icon in my notification / quick settings pull down menu, nor does it appear if i select edit to show the available icons... further, does the galaxy view actually have a mirroring app that allows you to cast your tablet to your tv, that mirrors exactly what you see on your tablet, as opposed to just being able to cast when in certain apps, such as video player?
i'm using chromecast ultra and once the google home app has been installed on the galaxy view, casting to a tv works fine, however there are like 6 steps (clicks) you have to go through in order to finally get to "cast screen / audio".
what i'm ultimately trying to accomplish is cast my galaxy view to my tv with as few steps as possibly, 2 clicks at the most, am i dreaming?

Can't download big apps as wifi goes sleep mode when screen is turned off.

Hi there, so basicly im using a s9+ with pie version and my problem is that i can't download big apps or spotify lists because every time i turn my screen off, it stops downloading or updating apps and stuff. What should i do ? I tried using another wi-fi connection and also clearing caches but no luck.I also couldn't see any settings about wi-fi sleep mode in pie version
Have you tried "Keep WiFi on During Sleep"?
Open up the WiFi menu from the drop down menu at the top of the screen.
Click the three vertical dots at the top right of the screen and select Advanced.
Click View More at the bottom of the screen. Then scroll the screen down to reveal more options.
Tap Keep WiFi on During Sleep and pick Always or While Charging from the three options.

They placed the WiFi power savings mode under developer options now.
Also check to see if Switch to Mobile Data is on under WiFi > Advanced menu. If it is try toggling it off and see if that helps. The Switch to Mobile Data feature has sometimes gotten a little quirky for me and switched my connection from WiFi to cellular when it thought the connection was bad... My connection was fine, but I disabled it since it hasn't always been 100% reliable for me.

Only things I can suggest is to go to device maintenance and change the settings under battery management. You could try disabling any power management options there and see if that helps.
You could also try having your phone plugged in and charging when the games/apps are downloading the additional files.
Myself for games and apps that download additional files I just end up extending the time delay before the screen turns off or enabling the enabling the stay awake when charging (under developer tools). I revert the settings when I am done. In this case the game/app was the cause (not google play because google play was not responsible for downloading the additional files), so that is about the only way I found to make it work... Maybe this will help for you also?

Desktop Hub - Dex mod to get resizable apps and open non-supported apps

I found a way to get Dex to open apps it would otherwise block, due to them not being supported. This method also makes all apps resizable, useful for those apps with fixed portrait layout like Instagram (where the menu items only show when canvas is expanded).
Some apps, like games, won't render correct if you change the window size. You have to change to the size you want, and then restart the app. 8 Ball Pool for instance appears too oversized, but playing resized it's now playable.
Instructions:
Install Desktop Hub for Dex (optional)
Select the 'True window' option (if using Desktop Hub)
Go to Dex Settings > About Dex
Tap Dex logo multiple times to activate developer mode
Scroll to the bottom of Developer options (in settings) and enable 'Force activities to be re-sizable'
Edit: It seems you don't need the Desktop Hub app. Follow the instructions to enable Dex developer mode and you're done.
Now you can do things like open a custom launcher from Dex to access functionality like gestures, activities shortcuts. For instance, I use Muzei a live wallpaper in Dex and set a double tap gesture in Nova Launcher to change wallpaper. I can now also access my widgets.
Have RAM issues in Dex/LoD?
You can now open 3C Toolbox, and clean memory. (Note: make sure you exclude Dex and/or LoD from the auto-kill list, otherwise your session will end/restart. If using 3CToolbox - Settings > Active Tweaks > Auto-kill > Configuration.
Why not just use Device Care to clear RAM? 3C Toolbox let's you kill system apps using root.
How it works:
Dex is a multi-window environment, so apps have to support multi-window within their manifest. By enabling the developer option, we're telling Dex that all apps should be multi-window.

Sorry I didn't realize, you have to first be in Dex mode before the option appears.
I have found out though that the app isn't required. It just provides a guide on how to do it. You can enable the feature by enabling Dex developer mode.
I don't this works for every app. For example, Slashtop Streamer still gives the orange outline over the app and refuses to let me stretch it to full screen. Unless I'm doing something wrong. I would love some advice.

You can't resize the window because you're using a remote desktop app. It requires an add-on for Knox in order to control your device using KLMS and device admin permissions. So this has to do with how Splashtop Streamer is setup and configured. You either need to make a change in the main app, or the On-demand Support from another device. The app is controlling what screen size to set it to.
I can't test this on my tablet to help you, because I'm already giving another app device admin rights.

Actually, I was able to make the Splashtop app full sized by tapping the DeX on the bottom left hand corner and selecting Dex Labs and there is an option there to "Force apps to resize". This did the trick, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'm not sure if they work in conjunction or if the Force apps to resize did it. I'm just glad it works.
