slow 5ghz wifi speed - Xiaomi Mi 10 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have Xiaomi mi 10 it's very slow at 5ghz wifi, only 10 mbps compared to 2.4 ghz reach round 97 mbps.
I have fiber internet speed 500 mbps. I tried iPhone and other Android devices with 5ghz wifi it reach 240 mbps, but in my device only 10 mbps even with change many settings in my phone and router.
Anyone facing same problem?

you can try to change the channel of the wifi signal.
I have no problem with 5ghz band, 250mbps right now.

i have 298

Tab Z wifi max connect speed 72Mbps?

In this day and age of 802.11n I would have thought that a tablet would consistently connect at speeds of 100 - 150 Mbps, even 300 Mbps doesn't seem like an unreasonable expectation if the signal strength is good. However, the fastest I've seen on my Tab Z is 72 Mbps. Is this speed a hardware limitation? Anyone connecting faster?
Answer:
What makes 802.11n different is the specification’s support of multiple radios and antennas that can transmit/receive multiple data streams – called spatial streams. In 802.11n vernacular, these send and receive antenna configurations are noted as 1×1, 1×2, 2×2, or 3×3. These numbers indicate how many transmit and receive antennas and radios are in an 802.11n access point (AP) or client. They determine how many different spatial streams of data can be sent at one time to improve signal reception.
More antennas and streams mean faster speeds, less dead zones, fewer dropped connections, and better coverage. 802.11n 1×1 Wi-Fi adapters don’t take advantage of 802.11n’s multi-stream capabilities so they can only reach a maximum data rate of 72 Mbps. A 1×2 802.11n adapter with two receive streams can double the maximum data rate to 150 Mbps. Take it up to 3×3, the maximum data link can reach 450 Mbps.

Good and how do we go from 72 mbps to 100 mbps or more.
There are solutions for this?
Try using 5Ghz router.

probably your device connects to 2.4Ghz band on your router. Check your settings to connect it in 5Ghz mode.

[CM13] Slow Wi-Fi Speeds.

I am really experiencing slow wifi speeds on my
RN3. I am using cm13 unofficial stable build..
I tried to test the speed in the official nightly builds
The result is the same...
Did anyone experience this ?
what are your speeds? what type of network (802.11n/g/ac?) are you connecting to? What frequency?

That doesn't give me much indication on the network you're connecting to. Is it wireless N? AC?
What are you using to test to get your speeds?

Well..
My broadband : ACT Fiber
My router : D-Link
Testing : Ookla speed test.
By the way i saw many threads regardimg this problem with cm13 in other sites..
But non has solved it..
I tried to Change DNS but nup..
D-Link what? What model specifically.
I believe the RN3 only has 1x1 MIMO antenna so only 72mbps for 2.4Ghz and 433mbps for 5Ghz AC.
on 2.4Ghz, I get around 70mbps, and 5ghz, I get around 200 mbps
Personnally Wi-Fi is working fine for me on my Kate device with the CM13 build for Kenzo.
With the speedtest.net app I can max out my Internet connection speed at 43 mbps.
Hi!
My internet speed is 200 download/100 upload. On my laptop get around 80/80 via wifi, but on my phone only 50/50. All this near the router (no AC, just N).
Can someone confirm the maximum speed RN3 Pro SD650 can handle via wifi N?
Cheers! : )

WIFI

Hi! Is there any tweak for increasing wifi speed on redmi note 4? Like changing its clock speed 5.0 from 2.4mgz? how do you do that?
You don't have to do anything to your phone to get 5GHz. All you got to do is buy a new router that supports 5GHz and you'll be all set. Obviously if your internet speed is too slow it doesn't make too much of a difference.

I'm geting 9 Mb/s from maximum 10 Mb/s. I don't know what would you like to tweak there. And you can't "clock" the frequency. Changing the band from 2.4 Ghz to 5.0 Ghz, will not increase your internet speed, becuase 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi already supports up to 450 Mbps or 600 Mbps, depends on the class of the router. With 5.0 Ghz you would get more stable connection, and also you would have less coverage.

What WIFI speed are you getting ?(slow wifi)

My G5 gets only 60MBs from my router which should provide 90MBs, I tried to factory reset, clean cache, force using ipv4, nothing worked though.
Do you think 60MBs is the limit for the G5 ?
What speed are u getting on yours ?
** Checked the speed with speed test by ookla app**
Idk if it's important: my router supports only wifi 802.11n while the G5 supports 802.11ac
Thx in advance
If you have other devices like laptop pc or tablet then check on those too. I cant help as my wifi from sky (uk) only gives me 12 mps anyway

It's not the phone itself. I get close to 90 MB/s on 2.4 & 5 GHz WiFi at home. LG G5 H830. Some routers don't live up to the speeds they promise, so check with a laptop on wifi.
I agree with jeffsga88. I have a 50MBs at home but my phone gets only 30MBs. My other devices also get the same speed. It might not be because of the phone so maybe you can also check your other handhelds.

I get 90 MB/s on 2.4 or 5 GHz on my G5. Funny thing my laptop on 2.4 GHz only gets around 60 MB/s lol.

My laptop gets between 70 and 80 MBs
But i found a way that boosts the speed in my G5 to 90 which is the maximum using an app that disables Ipv6 ( it seems like since marshmallow android devices have issues with it

Guess that would be dependent on how your router and ISP are handling ipv6 as well. I'm using ipv6 on my g5 and have no issues getting 90 mb/s. Also probably could have something to do with how the specific rom your on is handling ipv6. I'm on RR and don't remember what my speeds were with stock. Anyways, glad you got your higher speeds on your phone finally.
Reviving an old(ish) thread.
I am getting 275mb/down and 175mb/up on my old Galaxy Note 4.
My newer LG G5 is sitting right beside and topping at 85mb/down and 80/up.
There definitely seem to have an issue with the G5's wifi adapter.
If LG G5 is plugged in, i can get 400 Mbps down from my Asus RT-AC3100 on my Optimum 400/40 plan on the 5 Ghz band. Thing is, that happened only once for some reason.
Maximum i usually get is 165 Mbps down on 5 Ghz band, 100 Mbps down on 2.4 Ghz band, on battery.
I have a noticeable difference between using WiFi on 2.4GHz vs using WiFi on 5GHz frequencies. The 2.4GHz download speed tops out between 50-60mbps while the 5 goes as high as my ISP plan allows.
I have three other phones confirm it is not my WiFi router or settings. LG Nexus 5x, Samsung Galaxy S6, and Sony Xperia Z5 all produce similar speeds on both 5 and 2.4 frequencies.
This RS988, and a previous exact model i returned to get this as a replacement don't produce good speeds on 2.4GHz.
I've tried this on Linksys wrt3200acm and Linksys EA8500, and the results agree.
~50-60Mbps download speed on 2.4GHz.
~120-130Mbps (my limit set by ISP) on 5GHz.
This is not cool at all!

A21s max N speed of 72 Mbps

Hi folks,
My A21s can't connect to nothing greater than 72 Mbps. My laptop connects to the same router at 300 Mbps N. Is this a phone limitation?
EDIT: I'm on 40 MHz channel width.
Well the title says it all when on WIFI 2.4Ghz the channel width can only be 20Mhz despite the router being at 40MMhz channel width. This effectively halves the internet speed the phone receives.
Issue emerged after the latest OS upgrade to Android 11 that was done in April 2021. Before this, the phone was able to use 40Mhz channel width at 2.4GHZ WIFI.
Sidenote: I have verified that only the Galaxy A70 faces this issue and no other device I have has this problem. Also tried with other routers as well that were on 40Mhz channel width and the problem there persists as well for the A70.
