Messaging app (SMS) - Redmi Note 9S / Note 9 Pro (Indian Model) Question

Has anyone else have a bug with the default messaging app? Im on global 11.0.10 and using gestures finding the back gesture doesn't work when you're in a message thread and swiping to go back to main messaging screen. You need to use the arrow navigation button in the top left of the screen. Once in the main screen, you can swipe back to return to the homescreen OK.
Nothing major but just wondering if anyone else had noticed.

Same

Also just noticed the Battery and Performance section of the settings app has changed too. I had a system app update to the Security app so guessing it was part of that. Strange of xiaomi to make changes to it as its totally different again in MIUI 12 which is supposedly landing soon.

ICS 4.0.3 Leak Bugs/Application Problem List

Let's keep track of bugs and "gotcha's" that we find in the ICS leak or any apps that have problems with the ICS leak.
Bugs/Problems [Updated 4/5/2012]
TwLauncher crashes almost immediately after install (Crashes seem to stop after using the phone for a bit. Possible Workarounds: factory reset; re-flash ROM again)
Some applications seem to lag worse than on GB, noticeable scroll and transition studder
Black crush issue still exists but was "addressed" (test image with 1-21 blocks, on GB it dropped to black on "1", on ICS it drops to black on "7" and it's still not gradual)
Noticeable grey-to-black banding, transition is not gradual
SetCPU appears to default to 1.2GHz as the max speed
Embedded youtube videos in the stock browser don't work
Contacts tab is no longer in Phone dialer (Contacts is now found by pressing the Menu button in the Phone dialer)
Left handed SPen does not work
Battery life is questionable
Quick view option in stock camera crashes when deleting a photo.
Hovering pen icon in Pen Options doesn't seem to do anything
Build.prop, dalvik.vm.heapsize is defined twice (64m and 256m), not sure which takes priority but GB was 128m
All browsers crash when accessing any government website when it asks if you approve of there cert
Shutdown and restart hang
SMS app stops working for some, MMS not working
Email accounts, can't use multiple with the same name before the @ symbol even with different domains
Stock camera cuts left side of pictures
Email doesn't show unread email count
Application Problems [Updated 4/4/2012]
Nova Launcher/Apex Launcher works but can't add widgets due to "Not enough space on this Home page" (The widgets are actually 6 columns wide. Workaround: Nova Settings > Behavior > Enable Resize all widgets, then go to Desktop > Desktop Grid > Set columns to 6, add widget to the home page, resize the widget to take up only 5 columns, go back to Desktop > Desktop Grid > Set columns to 5)
AT&T Visual Voicemail crashes on open (Workaround: see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24451275)
Instagram camera causes reboots after taking a picture
HMA VPN Pro does not connect
Launcher Pro paid crashes
K9 Mail, swipe to delete selects the email below
Other/Nice-To-Have's [Updated 4/4/2012]

No android or swype keyboards
Some apps are now renderring in "phone" mode (Amazon AppStore)
Adobe Flash Player not installed by default

On the Skyrocket leak the way to fix some of the first time bugs/gitters was to do factory data reset.
If someone has upgrade with problems. might try that before you reflash over and over again.
camera in instragram causes reboot after taking a picture.
camera quick view crashes when deleting a photo.

some of these issues may simply be app incompatibilities....We should be careful to discern which is which.... unless the purpose of the thread is to track both issues with the leak AND app compatibility (which seems a little silly, maybe two different lists would be better?)
That is a good idea i will split bugs and app incompatibilites when i get ob my computer

Enabling "Force GPU rendering" seems to make the phone unstable.
Mine is actually perfect at least no problems so far...

Does the Redmi Note 2 allow gesture control apps?

Hi,
I would like to have a gesture control app like I had on my Cubot X9. It would be enough for me to have a possibility to switch the screen off and on by double tab.
That app I had on my previous phone allowed me to switch the display off by doubletap the home button and wake the phone up by simply double tapping anywhere in the display.
This was cool and pre-installed. But I don't see any option like that in MIUI and I don't know which app I could download for doing it.
I am using the xiaomi.eu Rom 5.11.1
Please help
Thanks
This feature needs to be supported by the kernel. Currently there is no such option, and most likely there never will be.

Swiping an app closed in Task Manager permanenently closes it... Help!

Hey all. Quick question. My Le Max 2 has had a weird issue since I received it. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same or knows of a fix.
I have noticed that if I open an app and then swipe it closed using the task manager (recent apps button and swiping it closed) that the app will no longer function until I manually open the app again. 2 examples. The Google clock app. I set an alarm last night and swiped the app closed and this morning my alarm didn't sound. I tested it this morning, and as long as I leave the app running in the background, the alarm will go off. But if I swipe it closed from task manager, it kills the app and the alarm will never sound.
The second example is a little more bothersome. I have noticed that unless I leave my SMS/MMS app running in the background, I will NOT get any text or MMS message at all. I use TEXTRA and as long as it's open and running in the background, I'm good. But if I swipe it closed, I will not receive any text or MMS messages. To be clear, it's not that I'm not notified... it's that the text message or MMS will NEVER come thru if the app is swipe closed. They don't even show up if I open the app after the fact. Ive tested this many times with my kids sending me messages with their phones. So I leave textra open at all times.
Finally, a nitpick, has anyone noticed that changing the font size in the display settings, doesn't reliably change the font size system wide? Example, I use gmail and when I open it the font settings are miniscule, despite me having the font set to extra large in the display settings. However, if I leave gmail open and go to display settings menu and change the font size from extra large to small and then back to extra large again and then I go back to the gmail app, the font size is larger and readable. Kind of annoying.
Thanks!
For your first issue I would recommend you not to close any app and try to lock in the memory the ones that are important like whatsapp, Viber, etc... Assuming that your model has at least 4 GB of RAM, it's useless to close the running apps. This is not windows and it works in a different way. It will take some time to get used to not pressing the "Close All" button, but believe me, it's useless. For the other thing with the font I'm not sure what to say. It might be an EUI bug that should be fixed in the future updates.
Currently I'm running CM13 S19 by Parasite and I never close any app. I'm still trying to convince my wife to change her habit but looks like she's possessed by closing her apps on S6 edge+, also a 4GB of RAM device

Thanks a lot for the reply. Makes sense. Is there a way to "lock" the apps open in memory, or are you just saying to change my habits so that they stay open? Could you explain the method if there is a way? Thanks again.
While in Task Manger (Recents or how you like yo call it, or maybe even "Control Center") swipe down on an app instead of swiping up to close it, and you will see a lock icon on the app in the Task Manager. Then when you'll press by mistake the "Close All", this app will be omitted.

just put cm13 on, imo the official rom is useless

Change the default home screen

Hi,
I just bought a redmi note 4 with a global rom, miui 8.
How can I change the home screen default? I looked in google and there is a solution to swipe three fingers, but it is note working.
Thanks
You must "pitch" on screen, like zoom out, two finger from middle of the screen to the edges. Sorry for my bad english

It's not working :/
Maybe i doing something wrong. You can try to explain more detailed?
Thanj you
Maybe like this https://youtu.be/j7QGDQTYbGw . Poor video quality but you see the point

I swipe three fingers upward with medium pressure to get to the home screen manager. (If it's not straight up, you'll only change screens.)
Yes Offcourse 3 Finger Technique Really work for that Try it to solve this issue
i couldn't able to access any buttons in my redmi note 4.. whatever options i do, am getting a screen continuously with " Choose your language 1 " with the options English and Tamil.
How can i rectify this.. Please, help me out..
In miui 8.2.10, 3 fingers technique will conflict with taking screenshot.
Turn off screenshot 3 fingers gesture and notification will allow us to go into add screen and set home screen.
update:
It seems like 3 fingers pinch no longer works for changing home screen in miui 9
How to change default Homescreen in MI UI8
Using three fingers, swipe your screen from left to right. Then you can change the default homescreen from the several screens that appear on your phone.
Change screen
Just put 3 fingers on the screen and zoom in (not zoom out)
Then you choose the screen you want

Small EUI 5.9 by Aurel few questions

I'm starting this thread because I can't post in ROM related thread
I've got few questions, maybe found some bugs.
1 My notifications aren't working right for emails i I use K9 email app and when the screen is off for a long time I wake my phone by pressing power button and then the email notifications are starting. The app is locked in task killer by pulling it down. Also I have app for the home alarm system and it sends notification for every arm and disarm that isn't working either.
2.When I have Whatsapp call I dont hear a sound but after that I 've got missed call notification but is silent.
In the past with my Xiaomi redmi note3 I've got similar problems,What might be the reason for tha behaviour?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Why cannot you post in rom related thread?

That's some kind of rule for new users, until they reach 10 posts.
+1
Must give application permissive,in lock screen must give to show all notification.

Hi that app isn't in the list.
Disable all power saving options like "alligned wakeup", give apps permission to autolaunch. And you can also disable "background resource control" setting in the secret menu. You can find all the solutions on this forum if you search for it. It's EUI related, not just on this rom
