Does Pixel Experience custom rom work on sm a105f? - Samsung Galaxy A10 Questions & Answers

Hello friends
I need some help here maybe i may be doing something wrong.
I have been testing custom roms for some time now...and i have tried out two roms, lineage os and havoc os and they work very well.
But when i try the pixel experience rom it keeps on bootloop.
I use samsung galaxy a10 (sm a105f) and the roms that work on my phone are of arm32 with 64 binder (A64, with partition A).
All roms work except pixel experience....of which it is the best rom that i have always wanted.
I downloaded the rom from this link https://sourceforge.net/projects/expressluke-gsis/files/PixelExperience/Ten/A64/A/
i also tried the ARM but they are all ending up in a bootloop
Can someone help me please.....does it require a different approach or maybe im not doing something right....which are the same steps i used to successfully install lineage OS and havoc OS
Sorry for bad english...all help appreciated
kind regards

Hello, well I edit my previous comment.
Solving your doubt, I managed to boot Pixel Experiance on my A10 but despite one of my favorite roms there are many things that do not work.
As I said, the A64AB worked for me and you are only A.
Sorry my bad English

Thanks for your post you helped me to see where my error was......just realised mine is also AB, same as yours and not only A.
Downloaded the pixel rom A64AB and it booted successfully.
However, it seems as if the following things are not working:
-navigation gestures (only back button working);
-status bar not fully sliding down;
-search bar in settings is not appearing and;
-setting up security feature (pin, pattern, paasword etc)
Are these part of the things you referred to as not working on your device too?
If so did you find a fix for them or we will need to wait for a gsi rom that works better?
So for now i installed lineage OS 17.1 with gapps (super) and got just almost the same features that come in the pixel phone
Thanks for your post man

A pleasure to help you, and so it is, apart from the errors you mention, there are also the following:
-Mobile data is not activated
-Night mode completely turns off the screen
-Dark mode doesn't work either
I also think we will have to wait for a more stable GSI. For now I stay with UltimateQ ✌

Bro i did some experimenting....maybe it may work for others as well.
I noticed that after installing the rom, there will be about 51- 60mb of storage only, which means you wont be able to install gapps that may help replace apps which are not working well eg carrier services, phonesky etc.
Also other websites had suggested if some of the features were not working you have to access and run pixel setup wizard by using a third party launcher like nova launcher, but in doing so it always crashed for me.
I also wanted to get many apps that come from gapps larger packages like the super or aroma packages
So this is what i did:
-I downloaded gapps super package from gapps site (about 950mb i forgot actual size).
-I installed the pixel experience rom and reboot into twrp ( i refrained from rebooting into system to avoid errors).
-I mounted all partitions and went to file manager.
-Navigated to system folder and looked for app, priv app folders, as well as in the product folder.
-I looked for all apps in these folders that are present in the gapps package and deleted most of them.
-I reboot into twrp recovery again
-I mounted all partitions and did advanced wipe-repair or change file system and selected file system to repair or resize.
-Afterwards i had a total of about 1.8gb of storage (weird lol).
-I installed gapps super package (im sure the bigger one called aroma package of about 1gb would work as well) and installed without errors.
-I reboot and it stuck on bootloop, so i went back into recovery and i went to wipe-factory reset in order to reset phone
-I reboot, amazingly the phone booted and it took me straight to pixel setup wizard successfully.
And viola! After finished setting up all of those features we mentioned as to not working, surprisingly started to work (all of them).
I am now using my favourite rom with gapps super package .
Im sure if someone who wants this can try it on other gsi roms (havoc os and lineage os gsi roms, i used to do it and it worked) if they want to install bigger gapps package but as i said its an experiment so the outcome may be different at your side.
What's your thoughts on this? .

[FIRMWARE] ASUS ZenUI ROM for Teclast T8

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything bad that may occur with your device, but I will take all the credit you can give me if it works for you!
Finally, I would like to present first custom ROM for our device (Teclast T8)! It was ported by me from ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 Z500M and this firmware has lots of great features! It was tested for about a month before release, because I didn't want to share beta ROM with a lot of bugs/issues.
This version is only for flashing via TWRP! (it can be found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/twrp-root-custom-recovery-teclast-t8-t3892647)
Version Information
Status: stable (suits for everyday usage)
Created: 08.01.2019
Updated: 25.06.2020
Android version: kernel 3.18.35, android 7.0 Nougat
What's done/features
Added ROOT (Magisk)
No bugs with battery statistics (like it was on stock ROM)
Unique ASUS design and customization (icons, themes, etc)
New useful functions (split screen, quick launch apps on lockscreen, etc)
Advanced power/battery control tools
04.03.2020 - fixed issues with sound
25.06.2020 - fixed offline charge
Bugs
Double tap to awake function
Gestures on lockscreen
All other functions work great! (fingerprint, camera, etc)
Installation
Download firmware to internal storage
Reboot into TWRP
Do this wipes in Wipe section: system, cache, dalvik, data
Reboot recovery: go to reboot section -> choose Reboot recovery
Go to install section and choose .zip package
After installation completed just reboot device and enjoy
If you face error "failed to mount system" or something like this after installation completed - don't mind it and reboot
Screenshots
P.S After device is booted you can choose any language on system setup. I used MIUI icon pack here.

Brilliant! Thank you Sword900 - GREAT JOB!
Thanks to the developer for this ROM and TWRP. It's a good device let down by lack of software support and removes all the Chinese native apps which I could not remove even with Titanium backup.
I was running TOS 2.0.1 but with a magisk patched boot image which I flashed a long time ago. This makes it simpler.
There are some issues with the TWRP but atleast I can update Magisk without having to patch the boot image and flash it every time.
The zip file in OP, the folder names have a comma after the number as pointed out earlier. Remove that before attempting any operations or you will face weird and wonderful behaviour.
Works like a charm !
I have problem with the sound. When i turn on the volume and play ssomething, i will hear annoying sound (ezzzzzz,,*%$)

Seems like I finally fixed it. You should install new version with all wipes listed, download link was updated. Let me know if you find any other issues.
How did you make this?
I'm trying to do the same with other Teclast tablets.(With P80X)
I would appreciate it if you could tell me.

I've just ported this ROM from another device with alike parameters (chipset, android os version, etc). There are lots of guides on the net which will help u. Another way is to find or make it manually kernel-source for your device, so u could compile firmwares on your own. But it requires appropriative knowledges in android development. Also u may take a closer look at GSI project as if your stock firmware is based on android 9.0.

[ROM][PORT][SM-T585][SM-T580] Tablet TW 9.0 port from T510\515

I'm not responsible for any damage to your device of any sort.
By flashing this you take responsibility of anything that happens.
Process at your own risk!
If you want to check firmware - please make backup. Better to store all partitions, at least efs and may be modem.
Instructions
1. Install custom recovery - use my twrp
2. Download the zip(s) - firmware and Magisk (optional)
3. Backup all partitions (it least efs) and store somewhere - it need to do - because you can loose imei
4. Full wipe all
5. Flash firmware and Magisk
Information
This is native tablet port with normal keyboard, animations and other stuff.
My port based on:
framework and apps: T510XXU1ASCE and T515XXU1ASCK (new Tab A 10.1 SM-T510\515) Android 9.0 with 2019-03-01 security patch
libs and etc: A600NKSU1ZSB6 (SM-M105F) Android 9.0 with 2019-02-01 security patch
kernel: based on M105FDDU1ASB2 (SM-M105F) Android 9.0 3.18.91
Additional
1. Added OC for CPU (1690MHz - Kernel Adiutor, EX Kernel Manager) and GPU (default 1001, in OC 1146MHz - EX Kernel Manager)
2. Added themes from A600N
3. new wlan driver driver 4.0.10.206A_20181017 (from A600FNXXU3BSC5)

Magisk
Before run Magisk installer in TWRP - you need run small script - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZnnKHtDAl0ioHjQXiNO6wErZN8odsO0P/view?usp=sharing
It's simply unmount /cache partition and then mount it as /vendor. After run the script, you can install Magisk. If Magisk Manager does not appear in the list of apps - extract magisk.apk from Magisk installer and manually install it.

Thanks to Samsung
good morning Valera! I've been waiting for this a lot, since Samsung Pie is very good rom, I've already downloaded and flashed it. I just had time to try the basics and everything seems to work and the Ui is nice. Then I will make a good revision. Thank you very much for your great works!
@Valera1978 First of all, thanks for the great Pie port. Tab feels brand new, smooth. One thing I have found is the Themes/Wallpapers don't work. It will download wallpapers but when you go to apply, all you see is a black square, and nothing is applied. If it is an animated one for lock screen, it fc's the systemui when you try. Not a big deal as I can always apply wallpapers from my own collection. This is only issue so far and I have a feeling there won't be many more if any. Thanks for your works!!!
great job from shortcomings is at present a problem with the keyboard
I like this rom, it seems clean and pretty and I would like to be able to install magisk but I do not understand how to do it, could you explain it ?. Thank you
Bootloop
I tried this on my T580 coming from RR latest Pie ROM. Backed up ROM, factory reset wipe and installed just the wifi port. Wiped dalvic and rebooted. Bootloops at first Samsung screen. What did I do wrong?
edit: Never mind. Used Advanced Wipe for everything but Internal and SD. Booting now.
Great rom. Thanks for your effort.
Looks good thank you.
Are there other people who get a failed when they try to sign in the Samsung account?
In the pie_t510_t580_port there are the follwing settings that don't work or crashes, or don't belong in the wifi version and if it's possible should be removed.
T-roaming
Service provider
Mobile networks
Also in the About tablet there is some LTE version information
There is also the mobile hotspot settign in the connections
Cellphone signal icon in the at the top next to the wifi signal
These are for when you have the LTE version
Great work man!!! Thanks for your work!!

I imagine that if you were to give the dev a P585, he might have a reason to port and a device to test it on. Otherwise, he has neither. I've seen this request many times, where someone with a different device, asks a dev to support theirs, and it never succeeds.
My personal hotspot isn't working after my first reboot... though I've uninstalled every 3rd party app.
Edit: It comes after installing Magisk.
EDIT 2: I've tried to reboot without installing any apps twice, and the problem appears, I only need hotspot for hosting an offline game with friends, like Bombsquad.

Sort of...
This ROM needs more focus though, it's faster than the stock Oreo, but has weird bugs...
To solve that keyboard bug switch to the phone interface through build.prop editor,
Edit the line: ro.build.characteristics=tablet to phone instead of tablet.
Then add the languages you want then revert back the changes after finishing.
About that hotspot bug, I don't know, but can't we just use the stock kernel and wifi instead? What's the use of the new one?
About the Secure Folder, there's a way to set it up by modifying the kernel, and we never had it on our own device, we only got it on S7.
But there's a small question... do we have a chance to get a Samsung 64-bit ROM on our device? Because the Play Store will shut down on 32-bit devices in August 2021, though this device is 64-bit.
Is it really much faster than stock 8.1? None of the roms I've tried so far have been, the ui lags and battery takes a hit I assume as it's running harder to keep up

That's because it's overclocked, and it generally feels way smoother like the stock Nougat ROM, there are some annoying bugs though, some camera apps can't access the camera, and the Hotspot doesn't work after installing some apps and rebooting, looks like it's not Magisk to blame, that doesn't happen in the stock though.
So I'm waiting until the OP replies or gives us an update hopefully.
I've tried the hotspot in the A600N port and it works properly! Why not here in this port? I think due to the presence of numerous Korean carrier options and maybe the Wi-Fi Sharing, when it's enabled, the hotspot doesn't work, even if disabled and rebooted. So you should remove these options, I guess?
I use SwiftKey beta as a side keyboard, testing the puppets, they are working in the stock ROM, but in both Pie ports, though I've allowed camera permission, the app can't load puppets, and that is not just present in SwiftKey, it is present also in some apps, it may be a missing Pie support, hopefully.
And thankfully, there are no camera modes, just front and back camera,
When I switch modes in this port, it force closes immediately,
and the Photo editor works properly in the A600N port, but not in this port, when I switch the filter it gives me a black screen instead
The only thing that annoys me is that the tablet interface of the A600N is not as great as this port, landscape mode is better here, because this port has tablet framework.
So, I wish this port gets more attention than it deserves, thank you Valera1978 for your great contributions! Hope you focus on this port, well more than you do with LineageOS!
Work on P580 ??

Do custom ROMs have to have palm rejection added? It's not normal feature?
This would be good to know as I got this device to use the pen!
I notice that screen is very hard to wake up. I have to play all buttons in random combination to be able to bring up lock screen. Once it get unlocked, everything works find.
I did once get system UI locked error. I have to push all buttons to force it reboot.
So I tested this rom on my T820 Wifi and in my opinion it works pretty stable, except of some issues I recognised:
- Saving pictures does not work. The pictures I get are scrambled.
- sd cards in ntfs format not working
- Palm rejection is not working
- ed xposed causes boot into download mode
- screen wakup is sometimes slow
- Viper4Android is not working
- Speaker only working on one site (right)
- it's not possible to rename SD Card or uninstall any system app like mail-app via root
- Netflix is not working
- Not possible to activate a custom notification sound
- Adaway only working with systemless host activated in magisk
- trying to use miracast causes a complete crash of system ui and makes a reboot necessary
- digital wellbeing randomly fc if settings menu is open
- sometimes hardware buttons stuck and i have to wait 5 sec until I can use them again
Thanks for your work!
*update: On second build same issues and camera just force close, now

Not working on second build for me
Now for the *REAL* question, does this ROM cause graphical glitches when you run a 3D load and heat the processor up to 100c?! That was my experience various unofficial LOS16/RR based Pie builds. I get temps in the worst case up to 97c under extreme load on the stock OneUI ROM, but normally it is way LOWER. Could someone (with the performance level in the power settings set to max) test games like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.PnA.Offroad and some heavier ones for an extended period of time, and maybe some benchmarks (AnTuTu, 3DMark, etc...) while watching the CPU temp and General SoC temp with a temp guage overlay (like the one in the paid option on DevCheck).

Don't expect that anything on this rom will fixed soon.
Always the same with this dev. He releases a build with issues, then he ignores all issue reports and only releases sometimes a new build with security updates and nothing more. I wish a had wait a little bit and bought a tab s5e, because it seems to be the only new Samsung tab with fully working custom roms and palm rejection.
Better you use stock rom for tab s3.

Not sure if answered but I fixed this by:
Copying the complete line ro.vendor.build.fingerprint.................. from the /system/build.prop file.
Paste replacing the line ro.vendor.build.fingerprint.................. in the /vendor/build.prop file.
These files crosscheck each other looking for this line. The files must be from different builds.

There are many tiny, unpleasant bugs in Havoc system, NOT recommended for daily use, maybe just for fanatics.
DOWNLOAD V2 ROMDon't need wipe data if upgrade previous Havoc 3.
NEW: FM radio fixer LINK (If not working FM radio, install this fixer in TWRP)
NEW: dt2w fixed : LINK (Install in TWRP.)
V2 Changelog:
Power off (offline) charging bug fixed
Some camera bug fixed
Many system bug fixed
Energy consumption is very good
The Android system seems stable and fast (Havoc Os not so much )
Know bugs: - no double touch wake up (?)
- FM radio
- power off charge
Update: I found some permission issues.
I'm trying to fix it.
The camera app does not save images to the SD card...
Gallery Go does not handle SD card properly...
They don't even ask for permission...
Workaround: USE INTERNAL STORAGE for photography, and sometimes move images to SD.

1. workaround dt2w: download Ravenge OS (TWRP save) and restore ONLY VENDOR. I integrated dt2w to vendor, but only for PE and subsequent ROMs.
2. workaround (full ROM installer): change the vendor.transfer.list and vendor.new.dat.br files from PixelE to HavocOS (or Arrows, or crDroid) in to the installer zip file. After no need patch for dt2w. Only copy two files to ROM installer zip file.
If you want dt2w, you have to disable the double tap on ambient display because two identical functions cannot be interpreted at the same time.
Dt2w will be good in every new ROM.
I have already stated that Official ROM development is chaotic.
The Havoc bug to this day:
- no flashing LED for missed calls
- Doesn't work with two buttons navigation back sweeping
- there is a problem with the bluetooth call
- applications are chaotic and inconsistent, with each developer trying their own solutions
- etc
- developers do not receive meaningful feedback
The situation is similar for all AOSP-based ROMs, which may be due to the lack of an official Lineage 17.
Google ****ed up sd card permissions.
I don't know when a stable AOSP ROM will be available, just wait now...
Hey.
After flashing the system asks for a password ??

1. If your phone data was encrypted, you may need to format the data partition. Save all your data first.
2. If a quota was applied to the data partition, it must be removed or formatted.
To remove a quota from TWRP:
Code:
tune2fs -O ^quota /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata
tune2fs -Q ^usrquota,^grpquota /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata
(If you then install a ROM that uses a quota, you will need to uninstall it again to use the quota-free ROM.)
3. Or, put the previous ROM from your backup on your phone and keep using it.

Huge thanks to Baddar90 for fixing the battery drain issue this rom was having.
The fix source code: here
His Github: here
Gapps: (credits of the Flame Gapps Team. (Their website)
1.To flash Gapps first download Flame Gapps from here (full gapps package), here (basic gapps package)
2.Then boot TWRP/OrangeFox with the above method.
3. Find the Gapps zip you downloaded, tap on it, and swipe to flash.
4.Reboot and you should have Gapps!
How to get the out of box google setup experience when flashing Gapps (recommended):
1.After flashing the ROM reboot the device once to make sure the ROM boots.
2. On the home screen enter the power menu and then tap on "Reboot" then "Recovery.
3. Once your phone is in the custom recovery of choice, wipe the data partition.
4. Then flash Gapps again.
5. Reboot and you should have access to the the Gapps out of box setup experience!
For those of you who want to use MicroG I will not be covering it here. But the NoGoolag Telegram group as well as r/Privacy on Reddit should be able to help you if you would like to take that route.

P.S Xtended is a great ROM, but it does have a few more bugs than other custom ROMS may have. Not enough to cause any issues but enough for you to notice the occasional hiccup here and there. This ROM is great for people who like A LOT of customizability though. By the way, bur is alos broken to and their is nothing I can do about that sorry. I'd recommend going to Display-Enable Blurs, and toggle it to off. After a device reboot at least you will get some transparency.
I hope you like it!
Also tell me if the ROM works on your Note9 as I can then remove that "Untested" badge from it.
Started using this ROM since yesterday and it's great and stable, I would use it over ColtOS tbh. Great amount of customization, though I do miss being able to tweak how transparent the notifications are, can't find that anywhere. One thing that doesn't work is blurring and I believe that it's a problem with the device itself, blurring doesn't work on many other ROMs as well, though LineageOS does it fine for some reason. Dual SIM seems to be working. The built in launcher is not that stable, sometimes it decides to crash and the swipe gestures won't work anymore, fixable by restarting SystemUI. So overall it's a pretty nice experience which can be improved a bit but it's perfectly usable.

Thanks! Sorry bout the system launcher didn't know that was happening. (With every rom I switch right to nova launcher tbh.) As for transparent notifications that is something I missed coming from crdroid too. While it doesn't allow for the amount of notification trasnparency to be selected there IS a transparent theme in settings you can choose. It is still a dark theme but the background of apps become your wallpaper and the notifications become alot more transparent which I think is kinda cool. As for the blur it is apparently how well the rom devs supportali GPUs, and alot of them don't support them that well. As I have zero programming skill, idk how to fix it. Sorry.
