Global Rom Installed On China Version - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi
Couple of years ago I bought redmi 5 plus which is china version but it got global miui stable version installed. (probebly by retailer)
now there is miui 10 and 11 available for my phone but I can not update using system update in setting. it says no update available.
so what should I do?
my own idea is to go back to china stable rom, but I don't know what method is harmless and easier to do so?

you have to unlock your boot-loader only then you will be able to flash latest global or chinese official MIUI rom. it is safe process, use xiaomiflasher softawre in PC.. watch more instructions in google or youtube.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, (first post here so G'day)
I had the same issue with my Note 3 (Snapdragon) trying to flash Global stable. I followed this guide (turns out I can't post links yet so if you Goggle " Miui Flash (Unbrick) Redmi Note 3(SD) with Locked Bootloader" you'll find it) and it worked for well for me. Obviously if you have the non-snapdragon version this won't help you so sorry if that's the case.
I have snapdragon version
What if I try to unlock my bootloader unofficially way on global developer rom by flashing modified rom of global stable 7.3.2.0, will I get into any problem?

Security app on MIUI 9

Security app on global miui 9 doesn't have automated tasks Chinese version has them. Can I download the version from somewhere and install it on global one ?
I don't know, probably not.
But if you unlocked your bootloader you can try the Xiaomi.eu MIUI version, that is based on the Chinese developer version and maybe carry also that function.

[Guide][RAPHAELIN][NO ROOT][NO RECOVERY] Update to MIUI 11 from MIUI 10 using OTA zip

Hello Everyone,
I have K20 Pro CHINA which has unlocked bootloader and no custom recovery and it was previously flashed with Indian global rom 10.3.3.0. Although I did recieve 10.3.5.0 OTA update so OTA update is not broken on my device but i don't know why i didn't get OTA update for MIUI 11 like evryone else, maybe I had to wait because i am not using the phone in india anyway i was in a hurry so i found a way to update the phone using avalaible zip file without flashing custom recovery.
1- Download Indian MIUI 11 for K20 Pro
http://bigota.d.miui.com/V11.0.1.0.QFKINXM/miui_RAPHAELININGlobal_V11.0.1.0.QFKINXM_5e75bba584_10.0.zip
2- use this guide to enable "Choose update package option on MIUI":
https://c.mi.com/thread-2147027-1-0.html
3- then use this guide to install OTA manually from within phone itself:
https://c.mi.com/thread-2151027-1-0.html
Needless to say that this method worked for me but i am not repsonsible if anyyhing goes bad with your phone, pay attention that you must have indian firmware installed before attempt to update your phone using this method.

Slow/delayed MIUI Updates?

Hey everyone,
got the phone recently and realized that here latest software update is 11.0.8.0. My phone show still 11.0.3 since a month. Is that normal? I'm in EU and the phone is global version.
Yep, it's normal. I have Redmi Note 9S EU, the latest version is 11.0.4, that's all you need to check.
mine showed an update for 11.0.4 but then it disappeared so still on 11.0.3
Yeah, I have 9 Pro Global and I'm still on 11.0.3. I think there is a 11.0.4 for Global that I downloaded but can't install it using built in system updater so I'll have to wait the 160+ hours to unlock.

You are confusing the Miui and Android version.
Download the following rom recovery to your current version and try via the updater (3 points at the top right, select file).
12.5.1.0->V12.5.2.0.RJWEUXM->V12.5.3.0.RJWEUXM,etc...
You can also try directly with V12.5.6.0.RJWEUXM.
Attention in case of problem and with a locked bootloader, direction repair center.
You can also unlock the bootloader then relock it once the latest version has been flashed.(Safer).
Xiaomi Firmware Updater
The ultimate script that provides firmware packages for Xiaomi devices.
xiaomifirmwareupdater.com
@NOSS8 i already try this.
Unlock bootloader is the only safely solution to go to 13.0.2 directly with Miflash tool ?
And relock bootloader with the option in Miflash tool ?
Even with Miflash, I would flash the last A12 (without locking) start the phone up to the home screen then re flash and lock.
Or test a Xiaomi EU rom (better than stock).
Thanks for answer.I have unlock bootloader and install official 13.0.2
No problem.
I will look into Xiaomi EU Rom thanks
