Microsoft office for s6 lite - Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Themes, Apps, and Mods

As you all know, tab s6 lite has a screen more than 10 inches. So microsoft is not allowing us to work on Microsoft office app without office 360 subscription.
Is there any method to make the app to work on this tab.
Thankyou.

Is there any alternate good app like microsoft office and free.

you can use Google sheets / Docs / Slides :good:

I do recommend OfficeSuite. It even has several Microsoft fonts like arial, calibri, times new roman...

I have been using LibreOffice since I switched from M$FT products to Linux a year ago. It has been very stable, and quite compatible with every version of MS-Office files that others have sent me to edit/review.
There is an Android/iOS port of that called Collabra Office available in the Android/Apple stores and an APK can also be found at F-Droid. I plan on using that on my S6, so I'll let you know my opinions after using it for a while.

I day say that quick office pro HD is the best, due to it being HC/ICS oriented.
Go to the TF101 apps forum and you will find a detailed comparison of all the major suites; Polaris is fine enough for when I need to view a doc/sheet.

Another vote for Quickoffice Pro HD. It's tablet friendly, easy to create new stuff as well as edit what you have and it can sync with a bunch of your cloud accounts like dropbox, box, evernote and g docs.
I like Documents to Go. Works fine on my Prime.
I prefer Quick Office HD, but Documents To Go is fine too.
If I go to the market, I get the message that Quick Office HD is incompatible with my Transformer Prime. Is it because I'm in the UK..? Weird.

Add Canada to that list. I can't see it in the market either.
I think they might have pulled it because I'm in the US and I can't find it either
Another vote for Quickoffice though ThinkFree isn't too bad either. I hate Polaris.
+1 for documents to go

Hi, I installed Picsel SmartOffice+, and it works very great, with awesome edit possibilitys. works a bit like MS Office. In the market about 7 euro, at Jetgar for free!
I normally use Office Suite Pro. It's got all the features I need and it's for honeycomb, it's not free ($10) but I got it as the free app on Amazon one day.
The spreadsheet in polaris office seems to be alpha quality to me. Date formats don't match up.
I've found nothing which allows me to enter 11/3/10 for March 11 2010, so I'm now back to using openoffice over vnc. Seems quite tragic for android.
I read somewhere that Libreoffice suite should have Android (and iOS) port this year, would be great...
After playing with Documents 2 Go and OfficeSuite 5, I prefer Officesuite which has formatting options as a bar rather than hidden in the menu key like in Documents 2 Go. Don't have QuickOffice so haven't had a chance to compare with that.
Further to the earlier poster, I include the link to the thread on this topic from the original transfomer thread. It's phenomenally helpful!

Very promising app:
Kingsoft Office : free totally, compatible with Microsoft Office read/write.
Great suggestions, guys. I'm also interested in what Onlive is doing with Microsoft Office. So far, though, they only have an app for iOS.

I too got it for free from Amazon free app of the day, and it works really well. Even at $9.99 it's worth it if you are going to use it regularly.

The ultimate Office App

Does anyone of you use your Transformer Pad for writing documents? I would do so if I would find a good office app. But unfortionally I can't find one. When I'm at home I use CloudOn, because it's nearly the same as Microsoft Office and does not mess up my documents. The problem is that I want to use my Transformer for writing when I'm in school. But I don't have a wifi connection there. Therefore I search for the ultimate Office App which works without internet and does not mess up my Office 2010 documents. Any recommendations?
Hi, have you tried Polaris Office? It does word, excel & powerpoint
here is a thread with download link

Cloud on? Is it for Linux?

I tried it out but it does not seem to install. Can't flash the. zip. Maybe there is a problem with the other version which comes provided with CleanRom 3.1? Is there also version 4.0 out there for our Pad?
Edit: OK, same problem as with any other app i`ve tried. Polaris does not seem to stick to my custom font layout. I like to keep my text very compact which seems to be the problem. If I open up my documents with Polaris they are larger (one or more pages longer). So I need an office alternative which is as close to Microsoft Office as possible.
Cloud On is a cloud based office solution but does only work with cloud services (eg. Drop box,Google drive, box, etc.) I highly recommend it when you need to work at home
Is there an alternative to Polaris?
Ok tried to install lastest Polaris Office v4.0.3212.13, would not install. then tried v4.0.3210.07, it installed but kepts force closing.
I running Energy Rom by NRGZ28.
The only alternative I have tried is Kingsoft Office from the play store, seems pretty good and is free.
Kingsoft Office doesn't do the job for me either :/ No advanced settings for fonts or any other fonts. I also tried OfficeSuite Pro. But same result here. All of the apps are not capable to align my text correctly. I think I'll need to wait for the official Microsoft Office or the new Polaris.
Btw. I found my problem. It seems like all the apps don't support the settings of Office 2010 which I have currently in use. However, if I save my files in the older format (Word 97 - 2003) all apps seem to work just fine. But I go with Polaris for now Thanks again ;D:fingers-crossed:
EDIT: I was WRONG! All of them screw up... I just didn't notice that when I either save it in the new or the old format my text is simply wrong. My testdocument is 6 Pages long. But all of the apps align it to 7.
Any ideas on how to fix that? Maybe the different resolutions of my desktop and the tablet are the problem...
Mabye Microsoft Office on your tab
Hi, just thought of a way to maybe get MS Office running on android tab.
There are Linux Installer apps on the play store which allow you to install linux distro's on android, you could then install MS Office on linux using something like 'playonlinux' or 'wine'. Not sure if this would work but will give it a go over the weekend and let you know. If anyone has already tried this can you tell how it went.

AW: The ultimate Office App
The best office suite for Android is made by Softmaker. The word processor is called Ofice2012:textmaker and is a port from the Softmaker office for Windows and Linux. There is also an app for spreadsheets and a presentation app. In comparison to polarised office you get a well designed office suite with good import filters for MS docx or xlsx files.
For a comparison between different android office apps go to Softmaker website. We (can't paste URL)
It was well reviewed by the German Computer magazine C't.
However, I this quality comes with a price tag. You pay around €28 for the whole package. Money well invested
Cheers

Is there an Office Suite for Tablet that lets you open multiple documents at once?

I am looking for an office suite app for android tablet that lets you open multiple documents at once, with tabs, so that I can switch between them.
I thought Kingsoft Office is supposed to do that because I read a review from PCWorld, and it said just like desktop version, it can switch between open documents with tabs. BUT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO IT. I think the review is false. I have been trying to figure out how to open multiple documents with Kingsoft for HOURS, and can't figure out. I have a Galaxy tab 10.1 original with ICS.
So if I'm correct and Kingsoft does not have this feature, do you guys know any office suite app that lets you open multiple docs at once? Doesn't have to be free. I just need a decent one that have this feature. I only need it for viewing docs anyway.
Thanks a lot for your help!

I did that but i cant find a way to open multiple docs and switch between them by tab interface. PCWorld review speifically says that they are impressed by tge feature just like on desktop, but i have no idea what theyre talking about..
The link for the review below
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2555..._document_editing_to_your_mobile_devices.html
And quoting the section im talking about
" I'm particularly impressed by Kingsoft Office's interface. Like the desktop version, it employs tabs for easy switching between multiple open documents. And it just plain looks nice (see below), especially on a tablet, which is where an app like this makes the most sense."
If kingsoft doesnt actually offer this feature, im interested in other office app as well..

[Q] Best remote desktop for Windows?

Tips for the best remote desktop app for Windows running on a Nexus 9?
What exactly do you mean? Being able to connect to a system running windows via windows remote desktop?
Or connecting to your device via windows remote desktop?
For the first one.. hooow about... something by M$? Like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.rdc.android
For the latter: I don't know if this works at all. It's hard enough to get it running properly on a non-windows-system. (XRDP for linux) Android? No way.
Cheers.
Thanks, meant the first alternative.
How about Chrome remote desktop?
Splashtop
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Maybe Splashtop for lowest latency?
I can highly recommend you Splashtop!
If you want to remote games I would recommend you limelight!
Try Google Chrome Remote, or Teamviewer.
Teamviewer works incredibly well for me. I have it on all my windows machines and my Android phone and tablet. Makes remote access a breeze!
Splashtop works with N7 Flo running latest L preview. I have Windows 7 on PC. Love Splashtop.

Chrome Remote Desktop is amazing. And very easy to use. I like it a ton more than splashtop or teamviewer.

VNC too
The Microsoft RDP Client on Android L works really well, especially with Windows 10.
You can actually use win+shift+left/right to switch desktops quite easily on the MS RDP client on Android.
On a Nexus 9 however the default resolution could make desktop items look too small.
My humble opinion is that Microsoft should update their RDP client on Android to
allow for a few different resolution settings
allow hiding of the top navigation toolbar
allow optimization preferences for slower networks
take back win+tab and alt+tab from Android selectively
I know they are dealing with some technical limitations/hurdles and possibly some political ones.
But that's how I see it.
i liked splashtop at the start, i purchased the premium paid versions of their phone/tablet versions. Then they started to change their tune and seek more money from me. I sinced moved to team viewer and have it on approximately 6 MS computers as well as 3 phones/tablets. It works a treat and have not had to pay a cent. Connection is rather smooth but does have its issues. I mostly use it to grab files off a device while away or for a quick debug, nothing graphic intensive anyway

I never moved from the free version. It works for me. I even avoid the $15. Slingbox app by going through Splashtop Remote. Good to know there are great alternatives, though.

Wow! I thought they were $30. when released (didn't have the slingbox then). The ipad one works great but haven't read very great reviews on the Slingbox on N7 Flo.
You scored one there! :good:
Teamviewer , it has free version. Ammy need license for VPC.
I like Chrome Remote Desktop since I have macs and pc's that I remote into. Once the N9 gets here I'll try the new windows remote desktop app (RD Client Beta). I tried it on my phone and it looked pretty nice. JUMP is also pretty nice.
As a Windows admin I use Jump Desktop. It supports Win8 & Srv2012R2 touch features plus it allows custom resolutions and the use of RemoteDesktop gateway. Very good program!

!!! Office 365 for Microsoft For Uni !!!

Hi all.
I am just on the verge of starting uni and have been told that we have access to a university version of Microsoft Office 365 for free.
If I understand this right there are 3 possible versions of Word etc on a Chromebook.
The first and I think most "light" version is that of the online version of each app.
Then you've got the google apps version from the play storethat runs on a lot of Chromebooks now, this a bit more full version.
The third as in the title...is by (possibly) downloading some sort of more 'official' 365 uni app that my uni is offering.
It's this third option I'm really into, I would love to have the FULL software with all its functionality working on my:
ASUSC302CA
PC
Oneplus 5.
Does anyone know how to install this more professional and full 365 onto a Chromebook? Is it a difficult progress?
Can someone write the steps out for me or let me know what to do? Would be great if I could get full functionality!
Thanks for your time in advance, cheers, ste.
doesn't look like you had any answers to this yet and since I've just joined the chromebook converted I figured id share some experience on this topic.
Seems the answer is in how you log into the office 365 account. I have two one from university faculty (aka work) and one from the before time (back when hotmail was cool)
first out of the gate I used the old one and when logged in i found nothing. no notes note clippings in one-note no docs nothing! Did some reading and found out that using work account will produce different results.
Neither are good for offline use so with luck you have the version of chromeOS that will let you run android apps.
Also it would seem that your sign in account will only show you what tools you have paid for and if your uni has anted up for the full package it will display all these tools. Sort of like the windows key. Home use pro use education use et all.
Its been a while since you posted did you find out anything contrary to my experience.?
Thanks
