The operating system on your phone has been modified in an unauthorised way and is not compatible with the samsung gear app. Check your Operating system and try again.
Obviously the OS was modified, due to the custom rom, but i need to find a work-around to use this app, if anyone knows what to do to fix this please help me

[Q] Rooting Gear S - No Android Phone Can I?

Hi All,
I have and Galaxy Gear S (ATT) version. I only have an Iphone 6 which ive paired it to for calls.
Outside of that, havent done much with it. Will rooting the device allow me to add apps and watch faces, without android device? Is this even possibly to sideload apps without a device that has Gear Manger installed?

No. You must use Gear Manager which changes the .apk to .wgt format. It is possible to download the SDK and use sdb.exe to load .wgt format apps.
Thanks, I paired it to a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, by updating the build.prop and installing an older gear manager. Then was able to install aps.

Cannot pair Gear S with my Samsung Galaxy J7 phone

I recently got a new Gear S and installed the Gear Manager on my Samsung J7. But could not pair it. I have tried all possible means from tips in this forum but all in vain.
I get an error message asking to check if my phone is compatible and if the samsung gear app needs to be updated.
The app is of the latest version. I would like to know if my phone is compatible? And also if there is a way to make it compatible if it is not.

Hi, How did you do it? Can you please explain as there was nothing explained in your youtube link.
Hey guys,
After looking around for a really long time and trying lot's of solutions, here is what I got:
First of all credit goes to:
@Akram (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s/general/tutorial-install-gear-manager-connect-t2934307),
@Brendo and
@kingakuma (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60263721&postcount=252)
I followed what kingakuma posted, but here is an explanation to what I did:
Please note you DO NOT need to be rooted for this to work
Also this is over-simplified since I'm not a developer but I really looked a lot for a solution too and was not easy to find
This was tested on Samsung Galaxy J7 and Galaxy Gear S
1- THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: you have to disconnect data and wifi, DO NOT BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET BY ALL MEANS!
2- Download this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zkp406v78lelv4o/Gear S 2.2.15022599.7z?dl=0
3- Extract file on your pc and transfer the folder that has 3 folders + 1 apk file inside to your phone inside any folder by cable
4- IF YOU ARE NOT DISCONNECTED FROM THE INTERNET ALREADY ON YOUR PHONE, THEN DISCONNECT BEFORE PROCEEDING
5- Install Samsung Gear_2.2.15022599.apk
6- Open folder "Downloaded" and install everything inside
7- Open folder "Extracted" and install everything inside
8- MAKE SURE YOU ARE STILL DISCONNECTED FROM THE INTERNET, DO NOT CONNECT NOW
9- Go to the apps list and you will find the Gear Manager installed, open it
10- Make sure your Gear is reset and make the phone look for it by bluetooth, then when it appears, click on it
11- It should start going through the routine setting of the watch on the phone, you might get a message that SAProviders stopped, just press OK and don't mind it
12- Accept everything you get, choose the stuff you want to be notified about
NOTE: Make sure you mark everything you want to be notified about on the gear because you will not be able to access this menu anymore
13- If SAProviders keep stopping you can install what is inside the 3rd folder, but in my case it doesn't stop again unless I reboot the device, it displays the message once and stops, so I never tried the last folder
VERY IMPORTANT: When you connect to the internet, the Gear Manager will want to update, it will paralyze all the app's functions and display a certain message that you should update, DO NOTTTTTT UPDATE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, this will only get you back to the same problem and Gear Manager will say your device is not supported
Okay, now you have connected your watch to your phone, here are the problems:
1- It doesn't automatically connect the phone to the watch like it used to, but since you cannot access the gear manager, you may connect through the list of bluetooth devices, so you will be getting all the notifications like you used to, but you will not be able to change that unless you disconnect from internet, uninstall gear manager, re-install Samsung Gear_2.2.15022599.apk and fix the notifications you wanna receive
2- You can't install apps to the gear from the phone anymore since you cannot access Gear Manager
Other than these two issues, everything works perfectly until someone figures out a final fix
Please let me know if it worked for you or if any point isn't clear enough, again I'm a huge noob, that's why this is very simplified.
Hope it helped

Is your phone running Marshmallow?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA-Developers mobile app
Hi,
Do you know if it should work also for the gear s2 and Samsung j7, because I have the same problem of disconnecting?
Thanks!
Lior
Hi everyone, the thing could work with airplane mode. But once I on internet, it does not sync. I heard that could change the model number to supported phone like s6 but how to change the model number? Please do advice. Thank in advance!
1. Download and install the following apk (from internet)
a- Gear Plugin (v.2.2.03.16033141N)
b- Samsung Gear (v2.2.16022241)
c- Samsung Accessory Service (v2.16.125)
2. Open the 'Samsung Gear' app and connect the mobile with the watch

[Gear S] pairing with your phone

Just I bought Samsung Gear S and I wanted to run (which seems to be the normal course of things )
I have a Galaxy S5 ROM including: Alexndr Cpd7 DevBase v3.3.
I installed Gear manager, no problem sparring phone with the watch and ran the manager - sought out his watch and appeared window "I join with Gear ...." and that all the fun is over. Whereupon the window hangs and end - it can not go on
I tested the connection on another phone: LG L2 - according to the handbook on xda downloaded the appropriate packages and everything installed. Gear manager is launched (of course the phone pairing) but is not a watch - you can not connect.
I have no idea - tell me what to do. Do you have any ideas?
Edit
Now I know that the problem lies with the ROM. I installed the original phone 4 a file ROM and joined up with a watch without a problem.
After the merger 4 updates installed ROM, which he downloaded system - I thought it would help.
Unfortunately, after restoring from the backup ROM Alexnder, it turned out that they still can not I connect with the watch.

Trying to connect Gear S to my rooted Galaxy Tab S2 (SM-T810) running RR Nougat 7.1.1

I no longer have my original Note 3 with which I had installed Gear Manager and all the Gear S apps, so now I have a great watch with only a portion of its functionality. I thought I could use my Samsung tablet to simply install the apps and sync any information needed, but Samsung has advised me that my tablet is not compatible with my watch. I am wondering what I have to do in order to have the full functionality of my watch back? BTW, my Gear S is my primary (and only) phone at the moment. I would like to be able to sync my contacts, messages, etc. and store music on it as well. My Tab S2 is the 9.7" Wi-Fi model which I have just successfully rooted and installed Resurrection Remix OS Nougat 7.1.1 in hopes that I would be able to install Gear Manager on it, but to no avail. Do I need to edit the build.prop for my tablet or do I have to root my Gear S, or what is my best option here? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-910V Rooted - Snapchat Notifications Issue

Rooted Note 4 Verizon - Snapchat not pushing system notifications for snaps after bypassing Snapchat's root-user block (Titanium Backup)
I recently rooted my Galaxy Note 4. I had to use the bootloader unlock exploit, and it turned out to be a more complicated process than I anticipated. Luckily, I figured everything out, only to find Snapchat blocked root users - no problem. I found a forum for using Titanium Backup to copy data over and log into Snapchat on my rooted device just fine. My device is rooted successfully with JasmineRomV7.0 and I have no issues with the system's functionality, and my TWRP works properly and I even created a Backup of the entirety of my device. The issue I'm now having is that Snapchat does not give me any notifications, whatsoever. I already checked Samsung's core settings and everything to make sure Notifications are enabled, and in the Snapchat application, too. I also tried prioritizing the notifications - no use. I have read about people who successfully got into Snapchat even with rooted devices using the same process I used, but I have found NOTHING pertaining to the notification issue. I have no way to know if someone is sending me snaps without opening the app every single time I open my phone to see if any snaps load. If anyone has any insight into this issue, please share what information you can. Thank you so much in advance!
