What (not rooted) ROMs support banking apps? - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I tried using the search functionality, but all the threads I've found are either dated or irrelevant.
I'm currently using the PE10+ ROM, but a few bugs got me looking to change.
I'm looking for a stable daily driver, hopefully with gcam incorporated, but I can flash it later.
I do use banking apps like gpay, and don't plan on rooting the device.
I've been thinking about LOS, but let me know what you think, and whether or not it supports banking apps
Kind regards.

you can use miui eu its preety neat and bloat free. Have been using it for more than 18 months feels solid.

Thanks for the reply!
I tried MIUI for a while when I just got the device, but it had bugs that really annoyed me:
1. I keep my phone on vibrate during the day, but during the nights i set it to DND on a timer (after so and so hours it comes out of DND). On MIUI, it never came back to vibrate, but rather switched to ringing on a low volume setting.
2. If I listened to FM radio, and got a Whatsapp alert, the FM radio would mute, and never come back. I had to kill the app and open it again.

FM I haven't used in years so I cannot comment on that. I am using MIUI 12 eu rom. I don't face the vibrate issue you are facing. Night mode works flawlessly for me.

You can try Havoc & Evolution X. Both of them support banking apps without root.

You can use Pixel Experience for banking accounts, but I think you'll still have to use magisk hide thus be rooted. Best option is to relock bootloader after installing the stock rom and stock recovery.

Try Oxygen OS it's really good in battery backup and touch response and sound with mono audio , with gcam( have to flash though but working good ) , ambient display with pulse notification and video enhancing alll are good man it's worth a try !
Banking apps supprts in some versions and in some don't ! In my rom g pay and p pe half working , can open check balance and receive but can't able to send so I'm using paytm bank and it's working flawless .
If other than Oxygen os i suggest to go for evolution and PE with 10+ version .. it's awesome and can be your regular driver . Hope you likes one of them . Have a good poco exp

stock vs custom ROMs so far

I've tried ALL custom ROMs for Titan and also tried up to the latest Tango build of stock.
One key difference I've noticed is even though all the homebrew goodness and customisation are plus points with custom ROMs, those extra features do not make up for the stability we get with stock ROM.
I was put into a few embarrassing situations using custom ROMs when I've tried to show off extra features I had on my phone! Whereas things as simple as "I can't share by bluetooth, but let me share the whole folder with you over SkyDrive" - has worked smooth like butter on stock ROM!
Still craving few excellent features like screenshots app and bazaar when I rolled back to stock ROM this week. However, not a single random behaviour, no wifi issues, no battery issues etc.
Has anyone else found their experience more pleasurable on stock than current available custom ROMs? Of course, not functionality wise as all custom ROMs being unlocked unleash a great amount of functions.
I'm on Dynamics7 atm.
So far, the phone does sometimes not respond to touch input unless I press the power button to put it into lockscreen and unlock - this however happens rarely. That's also about any issue I'm having with the phone, except for the still annoying HTC Update notification that springs up every time I connect it to Zune.
Wi-Fi and battery are both no areas of problems for me.
+1 on the OP. One thing that stands out for me is not able to save / download music from Spotify for offline listening I've a premium account and this is my main music source. I tried it all the custom roms without success. ATM I'm sticking with custom rom, currently using eburon v1.6, because of I like the ability to sideload xaps from phone browser.

Have you noticed any difference between the scroll speeds? Where custom roms "feel" a little heavier on scroll whereas stocks are fluid?

I miss sideload and homebrew goodiness but then it stays solid and smooth with stock so found it nicer to show my phone to others!

I had some behaviour with the touch input as you have with all ROMs expect Eburon. I am on Eburon 1.6 and everything works perfect:laugh:

Hm, I couldn't tell so. It works fine other than the issue I mentioned above, lockWidgets not working, the MMS voice message recording option producing white noise and the geolocation icon not showing.
However, I also did some registry changes, for instance I reverted the dehydration settings to the stock value - maybe this setting causes other issues aside from a higher power consumption for some?
For me it is the complete opposite. Although I don't use the Spotify nor do I share files via bluetooth (which you couldn't do on stock), I have not experienced any issues outside of the annoying HTC update when connect to Zune.
In fact, on stock, I experienced scroll lag issues, video streaming issues, phone randomly locking up for 5 - 10 sec, prisoned by AT&T and etc. I am using Dynamics 1.7 ROM since July 3rd. Everything works as it should and very smoothly. I will try the Spotify app to see if I have any issues (but I'm s Zune subscriber don't really need it).
I'm sure you've tried, but if not, maybe try a re-flash or even re-download, then re-flash.

yup, tried that without success... I'm starting to think that this some kind of anti piracy thing that spotify put in place mainly with windows phone because with my rooted ios and android devices I can still download songs for offline listening.

It could well be correct. But then so far out of all custom ROMs I've tried the latest WPV v3.1 seems to have corrected all the flaws. It works as smooth as stock but with all the homebrew goodies that fill the gaps. I have Zune pass and it doesn't have any issues even on unlocked ROMs. If it had something to do with piracy i.e. unlocked ROM, I would have thought Zune pass will be the first one to act weird. But then again, all Spotify and Zune should care about is DRM content. They surely aren't bothered or won't check state of interop etc.

Good Stable CM13 ROM from existing ones

I am currently on MIUI 7 global stable and want to flash CM13. Can you please guide me to which are the options I have currently for :
- Good calls and call volume (I use 3G only..no LTE)
- Bluetooth pairing and music through bluetooth headphones
- Working Camera
- Fingerprint (I have a FPC102..checked via AIDA64)
No offense but I saw most of the devs mentioning in the bugs section "You Tell" but there are some ifs and buts..
I already have TWRP flashed..
Most of you might have already tried all the ROMS..hence asking your opinion..thank you dear friends and the wonderful devs
Official CM13 has almost no problems for me (I say almost because I haven't encountered any that haven't been fixed in a day or two). Fingerprint is faster than MIUI tbh. Must be because fingerprint is baked-in in android marshmallow. Don't have to bother with MIUI force closing apps (torrent apps always closed after some time in MIUI) . Multitasking is great! With MIUI my phone felt like a 1.5 GB phone with its aggressive memory handling. Regarding camera the camera quality may have degraded slightly or it may just be placebo. But the MIUI camera app is definitely nicer and faster. That's the only thing I'm missing from MIUI. Some people have problems like fingerprint not working (even if Aida show FPC102), battery always stuck at 2% or 50%, led not working etc with official Cm13 but none of those problems for me . So stability would probably depend upon your luck.
I haven't tried Santosh's CM13 as it is said to lock bootloader again. I have tried resurrection remix but some bugs like recent apps showing even Android system (which has been present since resurrection lollipop in all devices. It doesnt hinder much but Android system is not supposed to show in recent apps. To understand what I'm talking about, when you open say a YouTube link it shows menu for which app you would like to open the link with and even that will be present in the recent apps.) and data not working ( data may be fixed by now though). I haven't tried other because Official one satisfied me very much.
Try the official one for once and see if you have any bugs. If not restore MIUI. MIUI 8 is coming and it seems it has some cool features but nothing to bring me back to MIUI.

Where to start...

Hi guys. Just got confirmation that the 32/4 GB model I ordered has been dispatched so hoping to receive it in a week or two. Will need to get it up and running ASAP when it arrives, because my daughter is itching to get her hands on my current phone to replace her broken one, but as this is my first LeTV/LeEco phone, and my first Chinese grey import phone, I am a little confused about where to start to get it set up as I need. I am not sure if it is coming factory sealed with the Chinese stock firmware, or with a reseller installed ROM, but since the reseller said it is "preinstalled" I'm guessing factory stock. I have read through many of the threads on these XDA pages for the device, but as there are various ROMS and various stock SKUs it is a bit overwhelming. Hope you guys can give me your opinions.
How I am hoping to get the phone set up is as follows: at least basic Google functionality (Play Store, Calendar Sync, Contacts Sync), as little visible Chinese language as possible (preferably none), no active bloat (I definitely don't want to see the LeEco TV and video crap). Stability and decent battery life are more important to me than trying to get a more vanilla android experience, so I am thinking a stock ROM or stock-based ROM are better for me than trying Resurrection or CM (at least at first).
I am wondering if I should (a) stay with the stock Chinese firmware, try to install basic google apps and root/debloat it myself, or (b) flash the stock Indian firmware and root/debloat it myself, or (c) flash one of the debloated stock based ROMS. And if I go for option (c), I am not really sure whether to go for TeamSpain or Cuoco. What are their relative merits or demerits?
Hope some of you guys who already have this phone can give me your recommendations. Thanks!
P.S. My native language is English and I do not require any other languages (as long as I can install Google Japanese keyboard)
I've had mine for two weeks.
1. Download all the updates (latest 17s)
2. You can then choose between US or UK English.
3. Play store is pre-installed so download all the apps you prefer, like mail, browser, calender etc. and in App management go to Default apps at the bottom and then make your choice.
4. Remove the Le TV screen on the left of the home screen by long press it and click on the eye on the top and Le TV will dissappear next time.
5. To remove the Live button on the home screen you have to download a Launcher, I have the Nova launcher (Prime) and with the Prime version I can hide all the bloatware apps.
6. The Leeco bloatware is very resource friendly and
doesn't use upp any battery for what I can notice and with a launcher like nova there is no need to potentially ruin your phone already because Leeco will probably provide a couple more updates.
Any questions feel free to ask
@Barnis78 has already mentioned the most important things.
i for one use it with the Standard Rom Chinese 17s and Google Stock Launcher. And i Love it.
I don't remove Bloatware cause as Barnis mentioned it's no Problem at all, and you've got the Advantage that you get all the ota updates..
Thanks guys, that's really good stuff to know. I have Nova Prime too, so if the bloat is not impacting on device resources I may just do as you guys and go stock.

It did not with 16s, it turned out that the Google account settings didn't have the Contact option so I downloaded the Google contact sync 6.0.1 apk and restarted the phone and it worked. You will have 17s version
when the phone is updated so check when the Google account is setup if you have Contacts sync in the settings.
One more thing, if your calls disconnects after 2-3 minutes, go to the Dual Sim & mobile network settings and turn of VoLTE HD calls.

Phone calls, they did disconnected after 2-3 minutes when talking to people. I didn't know what the reason was at first but the reason was the 'Volte HD call' setting. You have to phone a person who also have the same setting, the carrier also has to support it of course.

Sorry mate, I was just joking - you know, phone calls, nobody makes phone calls anymore.
Actually, I do hardly make or receive any calls nowadays. But your info is good to know anyway. Thanks.
I'm thinking it might be better to flash the latest official Indian firmware, rather than the Chinese. I gather the Indian one has Google play services already built-in. Is it a simple process to flash that one? And is there any disadvantage to using the Indian firmware over the Chinese?
I'm also interested in the same, wether Chinese or Indian is the better deal regarding Stock firmware?

I'm running stock and the latest Chinese 19s, there isn't a single issue up until now. I had to recalibrate the fingerprint though. The battery life is very good, I charge once every 24 hours, I get like 6 hour more compared to the 17s version.

Was using Cuoco92 latest 17S based, but flashed stock 19S last night. It's a lot more effort to get it set up - get google stuff installed and working properly, root, debloat etc. But once it is done it seems to be working well. Latest xposed v86 works, fingerprint sensor works well, they fixed the theme selector bug (though I use Google Now launcher, so that isn't really relevant to me). Not sure about battery yet, but 17S was ok so if it is the same I'll be happy.

I'm running original, no root so with this update you download and place the file in the root directory in the internal memory, (no subfolders) I downloaded direct to my phone so I had to cut the file from Download directory and place it direct in the internal memory, the phone won't find the file otherwise. Then you have to rename the file to update.zip. Then go to System Update in settings and do a Local update, the phone will find the file automatically. Just leave the phone when it's updating, it will take several minutes.
I am also running 17s stock chinese firmware. I have Nova launcher and everything seems to be working fine. my carrier does not support VoLte so I have it disabled.
I am holding off on the 19s until its deemed stable by Leeco and add it to their OTA update. I dont want to beta test it
19S, with root and xposed, gravity box, and the leaked Pixel launcher is very stable and useable. Very pleased with it.
Started having a lot of problems with play store yesterday, both on Chinese 19S and 17S-based Cuoco92. In the end I decided it was too much hassle and just installed the Indian 16S. It gets lower Antutu scores and you have no control over the Dolby Atmos settings (as far as I can find) but otherwise it's stable and smooth and has a lot less bloat than the Chinese firmware. Overall, it's probably a better option I reckon.

Battery drain issue at X2_X820-OS-OP-FGXOSOP5801607292S firmware Indian firmware.
For some reason my phone pretty much discharges 30% itself in about 12 hours while idle. WiFi is off, GPS is off, Bluetooth is off, Sync is off, all opened programs are closed. On LE_X2_X820-CN-FN-FEXCNFN5801607221S-5.8.016S or 17 firmware battery is good

Hi,
I can confirm that the Phone as delivered is free from bloatware for the most part (if doesn't sit around in the background) , The Chinese EUI factory rom 5.8.015s (mine has had zero problems) Is incredible fast My first run Anatutu was 145,725 and the EUI system menu style while not AOSP like it more than effective. Just install Google now and you are good to go.
I had a minor problem with finger prints but once I calibrated the sensor and used a better finger, Its funny how over time certain fingers are worn, lol.
I was going to root mine and Rom it but once I got my Max 2 I have been too busy snapping photos, videos, making calls to even bother !
I am looking forward to maybe android 7 from LeEco, which I'm sure they are working on, Again taking nothing away from the developer guys here.
If you want to be your daily driver I would leave it alone for now unless you want to.
cheers

[Custom ROM] Elephone S8 Firmware 20180621_AEROM_v1

Hi
you can find it on Elephone Forum
https://bbs.elephone.hk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=14242&extra=page=1&mobile=2
based on Android 7.1.1.
Changes (after stock firmware 20171018):
- Optimized proximity sensor
- Optimized camera (recommendation: in Camera settings set to Allow manual exposition, and set exposition to -1 or -2, the camera will work faster)
- Optimized power consumption and battery life
- Optimized stability
- Solved heating problem while simple apps used
- Some other bugs fixed.
Wow, nice ! I'll try this asap I hope this is better than Eragon
Is there any way to root it ? I'm not sure it's the same way than with official rom, is it ?
how do i boot into recovery? i accidentally wiped my phone and then reset it before installing the new rom and now i cant get past the elephone logo when it first boots . i need to get to recovery to restore my backup.

I think it would be helpful that you make a new topic, too. Because all I know is that you can't get into recovery without a system .... maybe adb and fastboot!?
This ROM brings even more bugs.
According to users on the official Elephone site the ROM is not recommended.
https://bbs.elephone.hk/forum.php?m...&extra=page=1&ordertype=2&page=2#.WzaSXtIzaM8
I flashed it a few hours ago. When you load the scatter file with flashtool be careful that 'userdata' is NOT checked or all your apps and data will be lost.
After flashing the new rom I flashed twrp recovery with flashtool and then booted into recovery with 'adb reboot recovery'. There I installed supersu.zip for root access.
The new rom does not make a real difference at first sight. I will try it a few days to find out about battery and performance.
What I already found out:
-more bloatware
-no live wallpapers supported
Does anyone have an idea how to install the live wallpaper abilty to the system?
I have installed the rom for almost a week now, this is what i found so far:
-memory management diferences are negligible if any
- audio sync in certain apps have not changed
-camera app is a old version of google camera and it is buggy, but can be easely fixed by a 3rd party camera app
- performace seens a lot better with a inscrease of score in antutu from 78k to 90k and it does fell a lot better to use
-the new bloat is just google stuf and dolby atmos which does somewhat work as intended
-the old bloat like mtk logger is not present
-no further bugs found yet
Can waste time trying out rubbish. If they can't do OTA then they can shave that update up their a#s.

I'm using the 'new' rom for 2 and a half weeks now and today I flash back the original firmware. Here is what I found out on my S8:
postive:
- battery life and charging time have actually improved (that's it for positive...)
negative:
- Live wallpapers don't work. I did not find a way to solve this.
- No real improvement on the camera, focus is still slow. They use a different app now but sadly the front light is not supported anymore.
- Problems with changing networks got even worse. On the old rom I had problems when changing between mobile data and wifi, now even changing between wifi networks does not work properly
- Wifi speed is very low sometimes. The only way to solve this is a complete reboot.
- I did not notice any improvement in performance and temperature, so I cannot tell whether this is good or not.
- Bloatware like some google apps, a few apps called something like lawnchair, unknown file explorer and music apps
If this is the update we are waiting for since half a year, it is very disappointing. In my opinion they got it even worse and there is no reason to flash it.

My RN3P is just unusable with every custom ROM I install

Hey.
This has been happening for a while, at first with Lineage OS (the last Oreo build before they stopped development), my phone had random shutdowns, GCam lagged a ton, demanding apps like Games or Photo editors (Cytus 2 or Snapseed for example) just didn't work right, they froze for a full 5 seconds, Social Network apps didn't work right either, I had to use Lite versions of their apps to make it less stressful to use.
I got back to MIUI but with Xiaomi.eu's ROM and I loved it, but it had some problems too, and I really hated that I wasn't able to experience newer androids, and I missed GCam a lot, so I went and Installed Pixel Experience, and it was laggy too, nearly unusable in every situation, it freezes at most of the apps I tried and it didn't work really well. Finally, I'm with Havoc OS, and I love it, but is UNUSABLE outside of a Wi-Fi network, when outside it doesn't just lags, it freezes, does random reboots, and also my headphone jack doesn't work so I can't even listen to music while having the phone on my pocket, it just does a blank noise when tapping some buttons.
I'm sick of my phone being too slow with every custom rom that I install, and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, of I have some strange firmware or whatever it is, I don't know.
I have TWRP updated, I installed every rom on a clean state, wiping everything.
My phone is a kenzo 2GB variant.
Please help me, I really want to listen to music while browsing Instagram again, now I can't even do one of these things..

but he needs HIS PHONE, no another one.
try LiquidRemix or go back to Oreo Rom
Hey mate. Try this Lineage OS 14 https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-lineage-os-t3877377/
I also have 2GB variant of RN3Pro and I also tried so many roms that promise speed. But to be honest everything past Nougat is unusable. The combination of Google service eating tons of rams and the OS itself taking more space in your ram ended up costing a lot of performance.
That Lineage OS 14 is the current best for me, it supported a lot of new features (splitscreen, better GCam) while remains low in RAM usage. Good SOT too, still managed to squeze 5+ hours of SOT (but that's probably because my Radon kernel setting).

Pie getting 6+ of SOT very easily. I m using Crdroid with shadow. Now dev has provided xcrima and shadow kernel with default enabled 500mb + zram for 2gb ram. So its relief.
I was having the same issue, every rom didn't had a near good experience of use for me, so I started searching and I've found microg, which is an alternative for google apps, but using much less ram.
So what I did was installing nanodroid-microg, and one of the stores that comes with the package(in my case, Yalp Store, but according to their wiki, you can install google playstore also.), Now I have about 1gb ram free (I'm also using AppOps to block some app permissions like wake lock, run in background etc.), but I had some problems so I will show you what I did to install it and make it fully work.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-nanomod-5-0-20170405-microg-t3584928
Firstly you have to download two of their stable release packages, one is nanodroid-setupwizard and the other is the nanodroid-microg.
Then you will flash the rom you want, the kernel you want, magisk and finally both packages, first the setupwizard, then the microg package.
There's no secret when flashing setupwizard, it's a aroma package which will give you steps to choose what you want to install, I remember choosing swype libraries, microg (of course), Yalp Store (with fakestore), Google Map API and UnifiedNlp location backends (Mozilla and Deja'vu)
After that, just flash nanodroid-microg and then follow the tuturial below starting from step 15
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/guide-microg-oneplus-6-source-ligthway-t3874469
Obs: at step 25: if your push notification tester app show you a error related to incompatibility or unavailability of google play services, you probably need to enable signature spoofing on FakeStore like I had to, I'm using aex 7.1 rom so I don't know if the steps will be the same for you but what I did was: go to settings > apps > tap setting button on the top right corner > app permission > signature spoofing > tap three dots on the top right corner > show system > then enable FakeStore. After that try step 25 again and proceed.
I hope it helps you or anybody reading this which choose to install it. Enjoy and I'm sorry for any grammar mistakes.
Your best bet at speed is an old nougat ROM and a swap memory. Format ur internal storage before flashing.
I've installed aosp pie on 3gb and it's very good. Maybe 1gb ram does make a big difference. Choose light os like lineage or Nexus

just flash android pie pixel experience (go edition)
https://download.pixelexperience.org/kenzo/
If you want to stay on pie. Try ArrowOs pie. It's the most smooth pie ROM I found for my 2gb rn3p. However the ROM is no longer being updated.
