Huawei mate 10 pro infinite loop in emui initial settings menu - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Hello, I come to ask you for help, my problem is the following.
Some time ago I bought a second-hand mate 10 pro and unfortunately they blocked it, so I took it to change the IMEI reported since the one that sold me did not give me a solution, so they downgraded with android 8.0 and when entering The system model came out as an unknown model, so since that day I tried to update at least to android 9.0 but I could not find a firmware that works, yesterday was where I found an android 9.0 firmware from my operator that I had before my cell phone before the Blocked, which is the next name that Huawei Mate 10 Pro had, of course the BLA-L09C 9.0.0.159 (C25E5R1P11T8) Firmware 9.0.0 r3 EMUI9.0.0 05014YPA
(I can't put the link, I'm already new to the forum)
and it worked correctly for me, because that moment I decided to hardreset the device to make it a clean installation, then I was surprised, until the initial emui configuration appeared and from that menu it does not pass and returns to the starting point in a loop (I accept everything but at the end it returns to the beginning to select the language), could you give me help to solve it.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE.

Recovering IMEI in Zenfone 5

Since there is no specific place to post Zenfone 5 problems, I will be posting it here. So, I and my sister both have a Zenfone 5 and I downloaded the latest Lollipop update (WW-3.24.40.78), and I manually installed it on my Zenfone with no problems, all cellular services working. And then I asked my sister if she wanted the update too and she said yes, so I happily obliged and started to manually update her phone too, everything went well. After some minutes the update completed and I immediately saw that the network was not detected, I said "oh, this can happen, I'll just restart the phone and it will be fixed". And I did that, but then it still could not see the network. I tried her sim on my phone, it worked no problem. Then I checked the About settings, Baseband version was there, and I checked the IMEI and all because I read somewhere that corrupt EFS folder/IMEI can cause this to happen when upgrading the phone. The imei was generic (004999010640000) on both SIM'S. I kindly ask the pro's here why this problem has come up and how to fix it by myself cause I really feel bad about it since my sister can't use her network now. The phone works really well, only problem is the network.

Bricked vodafone 890n?

Hello there,
i have a smartphone vodafone 890n and recently after of an official update of the stock rom my phone keeps rebooting at the system recovery screen...the only thing that i can do is to get it only in fastboot mode..
I did a hard reset aswell but there is no changes on it,everytime that i power it on boots into the system recovery mode...
even the sdcard doesnt work...
any change to fix it? my phone has no root, was in the original state!
OTA update failed -> vodafone 890n bricked
Hello Filippos86,
judging by your nickname, I guess it was the Greek version of the vodafone android (4.4.265.21.T3.141007.KTU84P.VF.GR). I got the same problem. After I have agreed to an over-the-air update (which was annoyingly popping up for a month or so) the phone got bricked the way you describe. By the way the update has not applied due to some permission errors, as the messages were stating.
Did you manage to have it fixed somehow? Did you take it to a vodafone shop? I am abroad for the moment so I don't have this option.
Thanks in advance
P.S. A friend of mine has an updated version (4.4.317.16.T3.150915.KTU84P.VF.GR) installed. He is a bit older and he could not understand what I was talking about. Obviously updated without realizing, but it works for him. Theoretically that is the version that I should have had after the update.
Hi
I need a Greek rom too.
The vodafone stores want 18 euro to flash a rom.
I want to do it for free
Please if you find a Greek rom let me know.
Have you find a greek rom? Please help me...

Downgrade to lollipop!!

hi guys,
i am in a bit of a trouble as after waiting for a long time for MM to be released for honor 5x in my country Pakistan but there wasn't any thing to hope for so i decided to flash manually and choose a MM file but when i put the update.app in dload folder and attempted to force flash it came back with update failed error after some reading on xda and other forums i found out that the update package was not of my region, it was European with with Denmark association. so i changed my region to mts/by (Belarus) and modified the custom.bin file in accord thinking that i would change the region back to Pakistan after up-gradation (poor me ). the update process then went smoothly and my 5x rebooted but right after that some thing strange happened.
the boot screen went green with red and blue boxes and i was frightened that i might bricked my device but after some time it shows the honor logo and setup process started.
secondly my sim card seemed to be not registered and required puk code. i dismissed the message and went on with the process. now my sim is not registering with the network.
also there is a massive battery drain even i didn't install any app.
the overall look and feel is not changed very much and also the performance is laggy.
Thing is that now i wanted to downgrade it to lollipop. and totally clueless what to do here.
i tried (Honor 5X_Firmware_KIW-L21_Android 5.1_EMUI 3.1_C432B140_United Kingdom_Channel-Others ) by putting update.app and force flashing it but the update got stuck a 5% and after 10 to 15 minutes it restarts.
please help me out, i am totally confused here
Edit: my device model is KIW-L21 but after upgradation to MM it changed to KIW-AL10.
Build number is KIW-L21C432B330
Attached is the device information.

I have tried to look for an MM for middle East but could not find it. The only solution for you imho is to flash MM for middle east.
Another way is to unlock bootloader and manually downgrade to emui 5.1 by flashing image files.
MM for middle east is available, clsA uploaded it

Well thank you but please elaborate. What do you mean by change my phone to original specification?? Are you referring to change my region or any thing else? Idk how to change region on MM and my device is not rooted. I tried to unlock its bootloader but the captcha code is not appearing in emui english website. I also tried the chinese web but it is not accepting my entered captcha saying i have not entered correct code. I tried many times but this whole unlock thing is driving me crazy. I used three different laptops, three different browsers and also tried it on mobile browser but the same thing happened again and again.
So whats your opinion in this matter, and please forgive my noobness

First of all, you are not a noob buddy. Only experienced users try this stuff. The problem is that Huawei/emui is easily messed up. Well, we learn from our mistakes.
I meant, you should change the region back to middle east. I never tried to change the region of my phones so can not help you there. Sorry for that...
The captcha code problem is faced by tons of users and everybody takes a different approach to solve it. I used Microsoft edge on win10 and never faced the captcha problem. You can mail Huawei customer care with serial, IMEI and device id and state that you are facing captcha problem. May be they will provide you the code.
If you can not change the region then alas! You are in more trouble than I thought.
I am on limited mobile data these days, if that was not the case, I would have downloaded a transition package for any other Huawei device (preferably honor6 or 7 as these are my devices) and would have used Huawei update extractor to see what partitions are they flashing for a rollback.
(Advised by DigiGoon to do this)
That would have allowed me to specify which partitions you should flash to rollback to LP to change your region again but that's all wishful thinking for the time being.
By the way, did you edit build.prop to change region?

Thank you so much for bearing with me and for such a detailed opinion. i replaced the oem.info file for EU by going into /dev/block/platform/hi-mci.0/by-name/ and also edited the Custom.bin file in Device/data/ and put mts/by (EU region value) text and cleared the previous text which was hw/meafnaf (PK region value).
one more thing, now when i dial the string *#*#2846579#*#* to check country/vendor info, vendor is showed as "hw" and country is "default".

Well, to get your original device id, head to the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/general/bricked-honor-7-honor-6-id-t3468333/page1
I apologize for KitKat instead of LP. My bad, I should have checked in detail.
Try to unlock bootloader and root the device as i am running out of options until the region is back and as for IMEI, head to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/canvas-a1/general/fix-imei-perfect-fix-android-imei-t2943567
And make sure the file you are using is the one you downloaded for your specific model.
Hope, any of this helps you.
What about battery drain and lags? If they disappeared and firmware is working fine, may be just restoring IMEI would be enough.

First of all thanks for your continued and kind assistance.
The thread you mentioned for imei is for mtk users only.
And yes i got my device id and the unlock code too but when i tried to unlock the boot-loader the command came back with wrong unlock code and failed.
i think my phone internal specification (imei and model number is missing) which i changed somehow and unintentionally is causing the problem. i tried but couldn't find any method for Qcom imei changing.
battery now is not draining like before but lag is still there.
So despite all your help(which i deeply appreciate), i am back to square one.

You may wish to have a look at the following page:
search the web for "Huawei Bricked phone repair guide with DC Phoenix" (sorry for not posting the link as I'm not sure it's allowed by these forums)
It's something that I haven't tried myself, but on that page, if you look at Method 2 Step 3, they're describing a possible (paid) solution to restore your missing details. I should caution the following though:
1. My antivirus flags the link in Method 2, Step 3 as UNSAFE, that could be because of what it does (changing IMEI, etc...) or maybe because the linked page/software is actually unsafe. You should exercise your own judgement there.
2. It's a paid solution
3. You may have to go through all the described steps before you attempt to repair your IMEI and other attributes.
I have used method 2 to un-brick an Ascend Mate 7 successfully, but that device had not lost its IMEI in the process, so I did not have to go through step 3 (paid 15 Euros for DC-Unlocker credits to flash the site's own recovery, nothing else I had tried would work).
The alternative would be, as other members have suggested, is to take it to a service center if that is an option for you. Hopefully someone here can suggest a better (and free) solution that you can apply directly instead of the above.

Single sim L09 to DualSIM L29 Huawei P10 for dummies / noobie

Hi to all,
So after I bricked my Huawei P10 L09 vtr-L09c654b195 Canada firmware all I was trying to do is make it dual sim from being a single sim.
I took hours and days (trying to unbrick phone as well) and trying to make it from single sim to dual sim with no luck, after I bricked it I used the service from dc unlocker, which kinda unbricked the phone, I was able to load EMUI 3.1 and android 5.1, but then my IMEI went to 00000000000 and there was no way to bring phone back to original EMUI 5.1 android 7.0. I followed dc unlocker instructions to the T, and this happen from their software IMEI went to 00000000000, their software is sub-par for me.
I received the phone back from Huawei, so now I'm back to square 1 a brand new Huawei P10 L09.
1. I can't find anywhere from internet a simple way / video to make a full backup of my original HUAWEI P10 L09 firmware in case I make another mistake and brick my phone. Can someone give me a link or guide to the best / easy way to do full backup of my phones firmware so I can always bring phone back to original like it was when brand new.
2. I tried to follow this guide's on this forum this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108 , I get lost about changing the .xml ending of the files this is why I need step by step video and /or step by step images on how to do this process correct. Also I tried this way https://forum.xda-developers.com/p1...0-plus-vky-t3605071/post72416532#post72416532 and this is the way I bricked my phone.
I do not understand why no one who got this re branding to work from single sim L09 firmware to dual sim L29 firmware never made a youtube video to show all the steps in detail (from backing the original phone firmware to final, not just part of the steps, I mean every single step from start to beginning) for dummies like me.
I really hope someone would take the time to upload a youtube video or detail step by step guide with pictures (seeing is worth a million words) with what I'm asking, I know I can't be the only one with these issues.
Thank you to all,
I used the files @crucky uploaded here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/help/dual-sim-functionality-t3598875
This is basically a user-friendly version of the rebrand method you already tried and it worked for me. After that I updated with the Firmware Finder from the playstore.
Yeah I noticed that link as well, but before I screw up another phone I would just like a detailed video, I would even donate to the person who uploads it!

P Smart 2019 boot with Logo Ascend on Board Diagnostic FW what Firmware / Board Software need to flash

Hello to the community,
I need urgent help with my P Smart 2019 (POT-LX1). Briefly some info, have the P Smart 2019 cheap auctioned as defective with software error. The previous owner said he had tried a board software / flash file (.xml) to flash unfortunately he no longer knows which it was exactly.
After that, the P smart 2019 no longer started and it is displayed a different boot logo (Huawei Ascend) he has then started several attempts with different firmware (dload) and (.xml) all without proper success. P smart 2019 now starts again but as boot logo is still Huawei Ascend and the firmware seems to be only a board dignose firmware. In Settings --> System --> About Phone is no model ( unknown )
Device name "PAN
Build number "POT-LX1-BD 1.0.0.53
EMUI version 5.0
Android version 7.0
IMEI 00000000000000
CPU - Octa-Core 1.8Ghz
Ram - 2GB
internal storage 11GB free /16GB total (but should be 64GB)
what or which firmware / board software do I have to flash that everything is recognized correctly again and the correct boot logo is displayed?
that should be feasible... I hope. I am familiar with the process of Test Point flash only I do not see through the whole firmware and board software at Huawei more... POT-LX1 or POT-L21 then the various board flash file (.xml).
EDIT: the eRecovery language is chinese!
Would be more than grateful if someone could help me there times something. despair slowly.
please excuse my bad english.
LG and thanks
