Tab S7+ with Bluetooth Mouse - right click & back? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 Plus Questions & Answer

As the title suggests, I'm wondering if the default for right-clicking with a mouse still functions as a "back" button? As dumb as this is, its somewhat of a deal breaker for trying to play certain PC games using streaming apps like Moonlight. I've read in a few posts that using DeX mode the mouse behaves normally. Can anyone who has had their hands on a device confirm? I'd like to be able to use a mouse normally without rooting my device as I'd likely break it.

In Dex mode the mouse behaves as on a PC. Outside Dex right click is back.

Mouse from a Cell Phone

I know there are apps to you can download to turn your cell phone into a wireless mouse for your PC, in fact I have one and it works great.
Does anyone know of an app that will do the same thing but be able have a mouse pointer on your Prime using your cell phone as the mouse. I've searched the marked and googled it and get nothing.
If there is not an app like this maybe one of you guru developers here can make one. That would be awesome.
I think this should work with the client and server installed

I'm not rooted yet but this may be the reason I root. Keep the suggestions coming.

Mobile mouse works great, if you're just looking to control the mouse functions. There's also LogMeIn, if you're looking for more functionality (remote desktop type stuff).
These work on a PC, but I'm not sure how well, or if these would work on the TFP.
I have a app that controls my computers mouse pointer from my phone. What I'm looking for is an app like that but to put a mouse pointer on my Prime and be able to control the pointer from my phone. So it would really be an app that creates a mouse pointer on the Prime and is controlled by the phone. This way I could sit back and control my Prime while connected via HDMI on my bigscreen and not have a long HDMI cable or have to get up to mess with the tablet.

That works just fine. I found it while looking to use my phone as a BT keyboard to use cheats in GTA III. Mouse also works.

So will this app put a mouse pointer on the Prime and control said cursor from the phone? I'm not really going to use my phone as a game controller what I really want is a cursor on my Prime to control it like it was in the dock (I don't have a dock) remotely.
That's two apps that need root to work so I may be closer to rooting if one of these will do what I want.

[Q] Using USB Gamepad plugged in PC to control phone

Hello to all, sorry for the long title but i wanted to make it clear.
Here's the situation, I sometimes play emulated games on my Galaxy S3 and as you may realize, the virtual on-screen gamepad isn't very comfortable when on my home (it gets the job done if i'm using it as a portable console) so I decided that i wanted to use an USB Gamepad i own to play my games in a more comfortable way. I know i can just go and get an OTG cable, and i will try to get one these days, but I fear they might not sell them here and I'm not a fan of buying stuff online.
My initial solution was to use My Mobiler for Android , as it allows to use the pc keyboard and mouse on the phone after connecting via wifi or usb, together with Xpadder, a software to map my gamepad to keyboard keys. While this gets me to the point of being able to navigate my phone using the gamepad, when i try to set up the Input in the emulators they will make a distinction between the arrows and Return keys (which seem to be taken as the Hardware DPAD buttons, that's why i can navigate the phone and use those functions in-game) and the other keys in my physical keyboard, which won't work if mapped to game buttons (A,B,L,R, etc) but will work if mapped to emulator options such as Savestates or Fastforward.
This is really disappointing as I actually thought i could save on the OTG cable by using this, but being things as they are, I'd like to ask if anyone can give me a hint on how to make this work the way I want it, or if by any chance someone (devs specially) would be up to the task of developping a server/client app that would work as Gamepad-to-Phone version of Xpadder (mapping the gamepad buttons as Phone-Hardware keys (Camera, Power, Back, Menu, Volume Up, Volume Down, DPAD) with MyMobiler's capabilty to connect with the phone via wifi and send remote input to it by installing an "Input Method" as well. I know this might require root but my phone is rooted already so that'd be fine for me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that would use such an app to play games more easily without buying extra cables, which is why i'd ask anyone that decides to take on such a project to make it free because it isn't a very profitable project as people would rather buy an OTG cable or use other bluetooth/wireless controllers to play instead.
So any help/suggestion/advice will be greatly appreciated
Sorry for the double post, but I thought this would be better for those who already saw the topic, in case they're interested on doing the same I did.
In the end I managed to make it work with My Boy (Gba emulator) by using MyMobiler's hardware mapping for volume +/-, back, search and menu buttons and the DPAD (F10,F9, ESC, F2, F3, arrows and Enter) and now i can more or less play emulated games, as long as they don't require any buttons aside from select, start and 4 other buttons. As I said, emulator's own actions such as save, load, fast forward or opening emulator settings can be mapped to any other non-hardware key.
Still it would be great if there was an Input Method that would make the emulators recognize other hardware keys (as if there was a complete hardware keyboard for example), I've tried GBC.Emu with my workaround and it's useless.. It recognizes the volume +/-, menu and search buttons as Virtual; and only the Back and DPAD as mobiler_keyboard. making it unplayable this way (you'd need at least 4 buttons aside from the Dpad).
Exactly what I was looking for....
This is somewhat similar to what I am looking for.I am searching for a tool that would send information to my android over local Wifi (same router) via usb. For example, I want to connect my xbox360 controller to my pc and use it as a game controller for my android over wifi. I tried OTG, but unfortunately my hardware dont support it...and I wondered if at all this idea would work. Any help here?

[Q] (OTG cable + plug in mouse) works! but NOT anywhere

hi,
I would like to use OTG cable + mouse in a game called "heroes of camelot"
the device recognizes the mouse and I can do everything.
BUT when I launch the game above, the game doesn't recognize the mouse.
I tried by using a macro tool called "hiromacro"
Once again the mouse moves the pointer, but no command is recorded.
It seems something changes in the way to process the two types of input; from finger and from mouse's left button.
then I tried to control my S3 from PC through an app called "teamviewer"
I can see in my PC a window which is showing the S3 screen and I can use the mouse of PC inside the S3.
This time, I can do everything inside S3 and I can also play the game above.
(unfortunately it is not a good solution because it is terribly slow, of course)
but It gives me hope that there is the way to, put it so, " to use a mouse like a finger "
So I ask if there is an app wich let me customize left button mouses's input?
p.s.: ah! I forgot to say that in my S3 I can't use finger, that is to say why I am doing all this mess
(sorry for my bad eng...)
and thanks for any answering or at least for reading
glad that you made xda forum!

Looking for an app that will make full use of my BT mouse

Hi,
This is a tricky question, I fear. I bought a Bluetooth mouse, and I'm using it when I connect remotely to my computer (using Google's Remote desktop). I thought it would be used like on a computer, but I see that:
- I have to press my left mouse button and then move it in order to move the mouse pointer in my computer.
- Right clicking the mouse does nothing.
- Scroll does nothing.
So I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Perhaps an app to remotely connect to my computer that can utilize a mouse as is. Perhaps an app that somehow monitors my Bluetooth mouse and allows it to right click and scroll. Perhaps both.
Anyone have any suggestion? Thank you!

Tab S4 and DeX

Hi all,
I'm looking into buying a Tab S4, particularly because of its DeX function.
Can anyone confirm whether the Tab S4 works with the DeX pad, or just the USB-C to HDMI cable?
I'm wondering whether it would be possible to use it with the pad to connect a wireless mouse and keyboard receiver, rather than having to rely on Bluetooth direct to the tablet.
Thanks,
J
It i's working even without an external screen.
For DEX I use most of the time the screen miroring through wifi, easy.
Yes, there is an option to put it into dex mode without any external attachments. It only works in landscape mode though. I wish it worked in portrait mode too. I love dex and would use it exclusively.
It works flawlessly...
From what I've read it works with the DeX pad but you may encounter the error "Close cover to enable DeX Mode". If you don't have a Samsung cover the easiest way out is to go to Amazon and purchase a 7-1 or 8-1 hub. A search here should return you some links.
Just as a note, most HDMI to usb c adaptors include usb ports, and Logitech universal receivers work off them. I've used a Logitec K750 Keyboard + Anywhere MX mouse (synced to the same universal receiver). The caveat is that the logitech unifying software is not available on Android. You need to link the receiver, mouse and keyboard on a pc, and then they work on the tablet. If you want to change linked devices, you need to go back to the pc. I did notice one of the mice I tried was overly sensative, so some mice may work better than others.
Has anyone tried using Microsoft Remote Desktop Client app on this tablet? I want to know if the right click button works. Please tell me that it does I'll be really really happy. I really want to buy this tablet but I can't justify the cost unless I can use it for work instead of buying a laptop.
This really should be a new topic / new thread but...
Yes, I use MS Remote Desktop to access my work computer from home. Usually, I use the onscreen keyboard and touchscreen, which can be awkward.
But I just hooked up my USB keyboard and Bluetooth mouse, and both work fine with Remote Desktop. Right click works.
One disclaimer - I usually use MS Remote Desktop Beta, which is currently crashing every time I try to run it. I installed the released version of MS Remote Desktop and had no issues. So you might want to stay away from the RD Beta version.
