Wicked work m
Nice to see the first thread appear here

Actually, i've found a homemade TWRP which is most of the function work fine and can be used to flash by adb. But unfortunately it seems not be maintain any longer, i want to share it to you and hope it can help you to fix you bugs and be strong enough and stable enough, keep going dude. Here is the link:https://mega.nz/file/njxCXSqA#R37PC2vpICMMsm4kqyu_V1PHGH4BRmTeMCgUZtgALZc

Omg its kicking off

I've translated it to polish and made a topic at miuipolska.pl ( xiaomi.eu for our country). Nice to see you here too

I've flashed the TWRP, did a format, reboot recovery, and it asked for password for decrypt data.
I've never set any password before, any idea why ?
Update, also did the following from scratch :
- Flash back to original China ROM via Miflash (fastboot). Booted back to MIUI.
- Reboot to fastboot
- Flash the TWRP 3.4.0-12 as above, and went into recovery
- Format Data
- Reboot Recovery
- Again, it's asking for decrypt data password.
Mine is a K30 Pro, if it matters.

i just installed it and it seems working good at least everything that i use thanks for the work

Thank you for sharing twrp with us, can I flash above the old one or I need to flash new rom for that

Have u tried flashing a ROM with this recovery ?
Then going back to the recovery, can it decrypt the data properly ? Assuming u didn't set any pass lock in ur MIUI.

Thanks for confirming the same issue.
I would have thought I've missed some steps.
But just by formatting data, without doing anything else and rebooting back to recovery it's already asking for decrypt password, which none were set in the first place.

No password has been set whatsoever.
Even if it has been, formatting would have cleared it anyway.
If u read what I've shared, I had also miflash back to original state n start all over, still the same.
If you may, probably u can try flashing back the same ROM on top of what u have, go back to TWRP n see if u have any issue.

Didn't even got the chance to flash any ROM.
Format data, did a recovery reboot, will end up with this issue. Since can't decrypt data, so no ROM can be copied in to flash

IMO, the UI hasn't changed too much. Stock launcher only allows 5x5 grid now, but I normally use Nova anyway. Took some screenshots of some of the changes I noticed. I'm using 400 DPI and, as you can see, the dark mode so it will look a bit different if you're not.
Yeah just checked on Oneplus community site. Anybody flashed it yet?

It worked for me, although for some reason couldn't boot into the new recovery - just hung on 1+ logo. I was about to try unbricking it when the OOS logo suddenly appeared. Am just setting up now
It means that mm update is pushed in Q2 and not releasing tomorrow.
Edited the OP a bit. Sorry I can't do much, I'm not at home atm.
Flashed stock recovery and everything installed fine. Hung at the logo a little bit, but then booted up.
Attempted to reflash TWRP, it took but would not boot into recovery again. However, I flashed the H2-MM TWRP and that seems to be working just fine.
EDIT: SuperSU and Xposed flashed through H2-MM perfectly.
Restored original recovery and flashed. Everything seems OK!

I'd strongly advise not to keep data partition unformated when converting from cyanogenmod to oxygenos, it will produce problems with all sorts of apps and system components due to configuration mismatch between systems.
Also, oxygenos mm uses same bootloader as hydrogen mm so you will have to use specific recoverys compatible with that bootloader for this update.
Best regards
Peter
it is normal that after the flash remains stationary on the start logo 1+?

The data partition and internal storage partition are separate. Wiping /data/ doesn't usually wipe /sdcard/ or whatever they name it now.
That being said, I definitely agree that one should fully wipe when switching from CM to OOS and vice versa.

twrp need password to decrypt

yesterday I installed the twrp version 3.2.1 with lazy flash enabled. after which I installed RR-N-v5.8.5-20171002-mido-Final with open_gapps-arm64-7.1-pico-20180123 I noticed that Twrp requires my password to decrypt. I searched everywhere to see what it is because it is not the operating system password or any other password. Finally, because I did not find another solution I went back to the factory rom. why did this happen? so far we have not had this problem with other phones.

I have no problem with people starting new threads but don't you think it would have been appropriate to raise your issue within the twrp thread, and in any event if you took you time to search within XDA you would have found the solution.

Strangely, I have the same issue here. Wanted to install Oreo ROM, booted into TWRP and my usual PIN for decryption is not working, though while booting into the system the same PIN is being accepted. The point is, in TWRP you can not even access the internal storage to format anything, it cannot be mounted. I have no clue why this happens, I had no problems with decryption in TWRP before. Seems that it first occurred after installing TWRP 3.2.1.0, but now it fails with 3.1.1.0, too.
Edit: wanted to attach a screenshot where you can see that it does not even detect the cache... not possible to save ss in TWRP due to not mounted internal storage
i try and i see the apear i put fingerprint recognition with password.

I worked it out by formatting the partitions, seemingly TWRP 3.2.1.0 dropped support for F2FS which my cache and data/internal storage was formatted with. So formatting helped (and therefore removed encryption), I could normally mount all partitions.
Maybe this is helpful to someone.

Hello my friend. I am in the same situation. As you said before, since storage is not decrypted, you cannot wipe data nor navigate through internal storage to flash zip files. Which partitions did you flash in order to bypass encryption?

Are you using TWRP 3.2.1.0? I can't remember very well, but I think I used the option "Format" in menu "Wipe". I think you should also wipe and reformat data ("Advanced Wipe" > choose "Data" > "Repair or change filesystem" > "ext4", I think) and all other partitions that were formatted with F2FS.
Attached two screenshots from TWRP.
Hope I could help!
Did you guys tried your mi account's password?
I know this is old but in case anyone stumbles across it, you have to remove all passwords in your Android OS and set it to none or swipe to access.
I can't remember which but that's the only way I know around it. I was hoping for an update in versions but December looks to be the last current version.
Hi all,
I was using twrp 3.2.1-0 for quite some time with encryption using my password from android. It was working just fine until yesterday, when I wanted to flash the newest nightly. Since then my Andorid password is not accepted any more, although I didn't change a thing.
No, I am not ready to format my storage - even if it would be possible and yes, I have tried to erase all password from android and start twrp. No changes though.
Any ideas guys?
Cheers and thanks,
zavjah

Why my phone was brick?

Hi, i just install the last build of LineageOS 15.1 "https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/xiaomi-redmi-note-4-snapdragon-roms-kernels-recoveries--other-development/rom-lineageos-15-0-t3690465". The instalation when fine, i flashed using oficial TWRP 3.2.2. Later after 2 hours of testing i decide install the magisk recomended on the tread for this version. Since then i can boot the system, it redirect to fasboot all the time. I flash TWRP 3.2.2 again and try to restore the old Stock room i have before. But TWRP only says "unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps". Then i format data and restore stock system withouth problems. The funny thing is that before flashing twrp i delete 2 files in the internal storage using TWRP and my data partition was not encrypted.
Any hypothesis of why this happened?

Could be possible that newer twrp is messing with the old roms status. Since stock twrp does not comes with treble compatibility for mido. Possibly switch back to twrp 3.1 by abishek. And tell what happens when u flash a rom with it.

Thanks for the advice, i will apreceate the link for Redmi Note 5A. And i can't use RedWolf.
You already know i live in a country where internet is very hard to access (Maximum download speed 120 KB/s if you're have luck) and electronic commerce does not exist. Therefore, at some time I have been forced to use pirated software to get some special features that are only achieved with paid applications. The policy of Red Wolf is tolerance 0 with users using pirated software. I consider Red Wolf an excellent recovery, but I am chained to TWRP.

You already know i live in a country where internet is very hard to access (Maximum download speed 120 KB/s if you're have luck) and electronic commerce does not exist. Therefore, at some other time I have been forced to use pirated software to get some special features that are only achieved with paid applications. The policy of Red Wolf is tolerance 0 with users using pirated software. I consider Red Wolf an excellent recovery, but I am chained to TWRP.

then maybe orange fox recovery. i didn't recommend it because i haven't personally used it, and after all at some point we all resort to some ethically wrong method to make ends meet. btw heres the link for redmi 5A

also try loading this page maybe.

make sure you keep googleweblight, because thats just redirecting reduced traffic from the website through google server

No it doesn't. Twrp leads to data partition being encrypted. Whenever WIPE data partition to decrypt, all files are deleted. When reboot into fresh system, copy files again, and reboot into reflashed twrp, data partition is enrolled encrypted again. And no MTP so it's an endless loop.
Anyone has successfully installed TWRP with this method?

The first business RECOVERY FOR our phone!
I confirm, everything is working!
the main thing
SEES INTERNAL MEMORY
ENCRYPTION NO !!!
It is possible to make a full
Backup system with
Date (user settings, programs, etc.) section.
---------------------------------------
it remains only to sew languages into it, and then only China & English
English is basically enough for slightly advanced users!

Device Wont Booting After Pie Install

Unfortunately Installed Wrong Codename ROM On My poco f1
after that my device goes in to fastboot mode
and i cannot access recovery mode because fastboot everywhere
if i press volume up + power button = fastboot mode
if i reboot = fastboot mode
if i plug in to charger = fastboot mode
then i flashed mi global stable build from miflash
still device booting in to fastboot mode automatically
after that when i flashed miui 9 device booted up successfully then i updated to miui 10 oreo from system update
but when i try to update miui 10 oreo to pie from ota/twrp/fastboot device automatically booting in to fastboot mode
after that i tried android q dp4 gsi guess what device booted android q gsi successfully
Tested All pie custom roms also same issue
it means i cant install pie
dont know what is happening exactly
DOWNLOAD
"beryllium-9.6.27-9.0-vendor-firmware" AND PUT IT on sdcard/usbotg and FLASH it via TWRP from
https://mirror.akhilnarang.me/MIUI/beryllium/
then flash any pie rome + GAPPS (if needed) +magisk19.3(if you wana root) and reboot
the device will boot
Xiaomi Poco uses Modified Vendor image ! that why it needed to be flashed saperatedly!
check and let me know!
edit1
if you cannot access recovery! BOOT into recovery via fastboot command line (while Poco is connected in Fastboot mode to your PC) and your PC have all driver installed. Open Minimal adb and fastboot
fastboot device // to check connection
fastboot boot ..... and Drag twrp from desktop and DROP it on CMD window ... then ENTER,
your POCO will BOOT, while its on Yellow LOGO, try to put USB OTG drive so that Twrp can READ its contents for you to Flash! , usb otg plugged AFTER twrp boot usually don't get red! ... OR better put flashable zips in sd card using any adaptor
I suffer from the same problem and applied all your steps but go to put fastboot .
please solve this

THERE IS NO NEED TO FLASH VENDOR if you going to flash ANY MIUI!
make sure you have correct build/version of MIUI 10.3.5,
some times, if DATA partitions is CORRUPT then click on FORMAT data, type YES and it will wipe the WHOLE device! encryptions will be reset! then place MIUI10.3.5 and check!
remember, to take backups!
if miui 9 has worked then this means the downloaded miui10 is not the correct one!
No I can not.
When installing any system MIUI ANDROID 9 PIE the phone is rebooted to FASTBOOT
